Yeah, and my cousin can write up a users online counter in Malbolge. Can't beat that with a baseball bat.

Ew, not me. vB 3.7 doesn't look like it's gone through major changes, except the profiles.

Stealing Koroku multi-quoting is stealing Koroku muti-quoting btw

Gosh, just looking at Ruby makes my head spin. I'm admittedly a horrible coder. D; I stick with my HTML, CSS, and limited PHP knowledge. xD;

Faltzer December 20th, 2007 5:08 PM

Ruby is much more simpler than PHP ever is.

pokejungle December 20th, 2007 5:46 PM

Yeah, Ruby is incredibly simple. I wouldn't touch it without Rails though. RoR > Ruby IMO.

aRedMoon December 20th, 2007 7:21 PM

PJN's new layout = not ready. lol

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I just put in my cancellation notice for my VPS. Makes me sad. ;_; I liked them.

Edit: Oh, so it's live. *doesn't like it... at all*

PHP is very different from Ruby, Python and Perl; all of those are scripting languages. Both types of languages have their place. Perl is powerful but difficult to learn; Ruby and Python are simpler, but support on web servers is not yet as widespread.

FauxCivility, I do not like the new layout much.

pokejungle December 20th, 2007 8:45 PM

Well, it's only for a short time anyways ;D

BlueEew December 21st, 2007 5:56 AM

The layout is okay, I prefer the previous one though. It was simple, but yet really powerful. :)

Faltzer December 21st, 2007 5:59 AM

Then I imagine you've seen YoYoGames[dot]com, sir?

Support is not that widespread? I was on AddYour's free hosting once and I ran my Python code in my /cgi-bin just fine. Python is already built-in on most Linux distros. The fact is, when a newbie wants to learn how to program, he's always directed towards PHP and not the other simpler languages. PHP is an atrocious language for a new programmer, and a terrible language for an already made programmer.

Perl is more difficult to learn because it encourages good and clean scripting and re-use of code. It's not for the newest of programmers, hence why it's so difficult for many. Heck, even I have problems using Perl and I've already used so many scripting languages these days. For PHP, have they even decided if they want to keep underscores in functions or not? Or, have two functions that do the same things but with different names and/or underscores?

pokejungle December 21st, 2007 1:39 PM

I don't think this will be one of my most popular layouts XD I want to come out with a really hot one for the new year. A nice way to start out or something... I'll have to work on it.

Faltzer December 21st, 2007 2:04 PM

PJN would best be suited a Mistletoe type of Christmas theme. Why? Because it's green, and because it would probably have come out much better.

pokejungle December 21st, 2007 2:19 PM

Probably.

I'm thinking I'm going with another Web 2.0-ish theme, but something a bit sharper and less white this time around. I just want to set myself apart from 1990's sites like SPP and PPN's way over loaded layout.

aRedMoon December 21st, 2007 7:56 PM

But your layouts are becoming more and more... generic. They don't really seem amazing. They make me think of social networking sites. >_>

pokejungle December 21st, 2007 9:17 PM

Not the current one oO;

I'm just trying to find a place, as we all are Greg.

peirateis December 21st, 2007 10:52 PM

I agree, it is pretty generic...

But... *stretches memory* as far as I recall, I liked your previous layout.

Though sometimes generic really is a good thing. Change and difference scares people. Honestly, ever seen ANY sitcom for an extended amount of time? D;

Now that I look at it, there's something about the color. Just so... I dunno. Something.

Lubricus December 22nd, 2007 6:25 PM

Is there a way to embed wordpress pages on a regular .php file THat I use for my homepage.

pokejungle December 22nd, 2007 6:29 PM

Unfortunately, no.

Why would you want to do that? To use it as a news system?

Lubricus December 22nd, 2007 6:42 PM

No my stupid friend doesn't want to do just a blog but have a blog and then have quick news on the homepage. I said to just do the blog but he said no.

pokejungle December 22nd, 2007 7:24 PM

Wouldn't it be easier to simply embed the 'quick news' on the wordpress...?

It can be used as a great basic CMS technically.

Yeah thats what I said he is stubborn though so once he sets his mind on something he will find a way.
