i don know how to catch mew!
How do you catch mew in blue version?
|
Hmm... You should go to Pokemon Gameboy Game/DS Game forums.
Anyway. Welcome to PC. |
what about being my friend
|
This doesn't belong here. It should go into Classic GB Games.
Welcome to PC. |
You can't catch Mew in Blue version unless by a code, the only way was to get it from Nintendo.
|
Gameshark... heh...
I will post it once again.... http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/rbcatchmew.html For red/blue |

Or 'shark, like Ian said. |
Oohh, ok. :) I see. xD Hmm... I didn't know that.
|
There was this Toys R Us thing that went around.
I only remember it because it was on my birthday and we went out there at like 4 AM to get in the line. XD |
:o *dies* Lol... I see, well still I didn't know that. ^^; Hmm... oh well, I guess the only way now is the shark.
I caught a Mew in... Blue with teh shark. xD It's so lame and cheesy though to cheat. xD Mews Pshycic will kill almost everything... regardless of resistence or weakness. -_- :P EDIT: Crap, that's why everybody likes him. :P |
I found Mew to be slightly... well, useless. He really isn't all that powerful.
Especially since you got him at level 5, even if rest of your party was at level 80. -_-' |
Catching the Elusive Mew... the hard way
It is true that Mew cannot be caught in Pokemon Blue as others are caught, but it would seem that there are two ways to encounter it without using a cheating device.
1. While using the very glitchy MissingNo. item duplication cheat, there is a slight chance of encountering a level 255 Mew on the eastern coast of the righthand Seafoam Island. Unfortunately, the Pokemon you encounter there is not certain (I don't think it is precisely random, as I've heard that it has something to do with the selection of characters in your trainer's name). I see mostly Weezings and Squirtles for some reason... :mew2: even my trusty level 100 Mewtwo had troubles there. (Have you ever sustained a hit from a level 255 Squirtle using Skull Bash !? I didn't think so.) 2. I have not confirmed this method, but at Supercheats I found a few paragraphs that give very detailed instructions concerning how to catch a level 7 Mew. Unfortunately most people have to restart their games in order to use this, or have the knowledge necessary to find trainers to substitute for the ones mentioned. Here it is: Quote:

There is also another way to catch a level 7 mew. This method can be done as early as the first time u enter cerulean.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is call the TMG (Teleport Mew Glitch) and this is how to do it. Ok, when you enter Cerulean City go to the Pokemon Center and heal even if you have full hp. Then once you've done that, make sure you have 4 or less pokemon. If not put enough in your PC so you have 4 or less pokemon. Then once you have done that, head out and go north to nugget bridge. Then your rival should come up. Beat him and go heal if you have to otherwise go and beat the 5 poeple on the bridge and the rocket person that gives you the prize (nugget) After you beat him, SAVE IT. Once you have done that head north then left over the river so your right next to the mountain. Then if you go down you should see a guy hiding in the grass. DO NOT VERSE HIM. If you did, turn your gameboy off and on and do it again. Instead of versing him. Keep walking around in the grass untill you find an Abra. Then catch it. I have heard that you can only catch Abra there only in Red and Blue. As for yellow, I think, that you can catch it on Route 8. Well once you have caught it, save it. Abra should be in your line-up now. After that head north just one step/screen above the guy in the grass. Take one step to the right so that you are now directly above him but he is still off your screen. *NOTE: If you verse him during the process of doing this, turn you gameboy off and on.* So now that you are above him but cant see him, press down and then press start quickly after you press down. If you did it right, your start menu would now have popped up and you are able to see the guy left of the start menu. If you did it wrong turn it off and on. Now that your menu is up. Click POKEMON, then go to Abra and click Teleport. The guy will see you just as you teleport away. Now you should be at the pokemon center without the start button functioning. Now head back to nugget bridge but this time take a right. You should come upon 2 hikers. Try to avoid them and find a way through. After you have passed 3 trainers, you will see 2 more trainers. A boy and a girl. Now we have to verse the boy. DO NOT WALK UP TO HIM otherwise your game will freeze. Instead, simply walk up then right and make him walk towards you. So now you are in a battle. He will send out a Slopoke. Beat him. After you have beaten him, your start button will start to work properly again. So press start and Teleport to the Pokemon Center again. Now if you haven't already, stack up on pokeballs at the mart. You should have at LEAST 5 pokeballs. Once you think you are ready, SAVE IT, cause if you mess up you would have to do it all over again. Now head back to nugget bridge. Walk north to the bridge and your start menu will pop up. Simply press B and await your Mew battle. This has been tested and has worked many times. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
i did the one u just said and it worked
|
who me or merron. They both worked, but i found the tmg to work easier
|
can the TMG glitgh be used later in the game? and also..... they both use the slowpoke kid.....weird.....
|
You cannot catch him,you will have to get him at a nintendo event,which does not happen for mew anymore,so you can use codes,that's the only other way,or find someone who has one and duplicate it,or just simply trade for it.
|
hey............actually by usinga method which i posted it earlier............u could purposely lose to the slowpoke kid...........so u can do the trick over and over again...........
Does this mess up your game? |
I tried both ways with my red and blue and they both work as well as each other (the slowpoke kid way)
|
yep they work.. at least if that's the mew code :P I didn't feel like reading it ^^ But there are tons of threads with this subject so.. look there :)
|
Luckily I was just at the place to get fly for the first version and I knew I hadnt beaten either of the trainers, and on red I started a new game just to test THESMURF12's theory, and it worked!
the way to get mew!
to get mew: Go to Route 8, and stand in front of the door in the building shown above. Be careful, to move so that the trainer near the house can't see you. This would be a good time to save your game, because you can't save the game until you got your Mew, and you may mistakes, so this will leave you at a good point to start over.
When you take a step down, that trainer will see you. However, when you are taking that step down, quickly press start. If you did it right, then the menu should pop up first before the trainer can see you. If you didn't get it right, then you'll have to start over. Because you can't battle this trainer. Battling this trainer will ruin the code. Fly to Cerulean City The trainer will see you when you Fly... But it will be too late, off you go! Now go to the Pokemon menu, and using the Pokemon that knows fly, fly to Cerulean City. The trainer will see you. But don't worry, it's normal. You will fly off to Cerulean City before that trainer can even battle you. Step 3: Cerulean City At Cerulean City The Nugget Bridge Now you're at Cerulean City, and go across the Nugget Bridge north of the city. Find this trainer east of Nugget Bridge You need to defeat this trainer After the battle, go to Lavender Town After going up the Nugget Bridge, go east towards Bill's House. You won't actually go to Bill's House, but along the way, you need to find the trainer seen above. This is very important: You have to make the trainer walk up to you. So don't go in front of the trainer, it will cause your game to freeze. Walk above the trainer, so that he has to walk over to get to you. Once he walks over, and meets you, then you'll have a battle, and you have to win. It shouldn't be a problem, the only Pokemon he has is a Slowpoke at level 17. After you won the battle, fly to Lavender Town. Step 4: Lavender Town At Lavender Town Head towards this path Here it is! Mew! Ok, you're almost there. At Lavender Town, go to the path seen above. Take one step towards a path, and the menu will automatically pop up. Exit the menu and you will immediately encounter Mew. Mew is only at level 7, and only knows Pound. So it shouldn't be hard to capture. |
I got the way I got it ,it involves the slowpoke kid too and it works for red blue and yellow the requirements areMake sure you haven't battled the Youngster (who has a level 17 Slowpoke) on the way to Bill's house. If you have, the code won't work.
Also make sure that you haven't battled the Gambler (who has 2 Poliwags and 1 Poliwhirl). He is facing towards the Underground Path that leads to Celadon city (Route 8). If you have, the code won't work either. You need Fly (HM02) . Get some Ultra Balls (or other pokeballs) to catch a Level 7 Mew, that only knows Pound. THE CODE Save the game here before attempting the Mew code. Take one step forward towards the Gambler and quickly press start. If successful, the menu will show up. Go to you pokemon lineup and select the move fly. Choose the destination to fly to Cerulean City. If you have done it right, you should see a explaination mark (!) over the Gambler's head just as you fly off (This shouldn't work with any other trainer). You will notice that you can no longer bring up the main menu and when you try and talk to people, they are speechless. This is normal. This tells you that the code at the moment is working. Walk to the Youngster (since you can't bring up the main menu at the moment). When you battle him, make sure he WALKS TO YOU. Don't go directly in front of him (doing so will cause the game to freeze). Beat him and whatever you do, DO NOT SAVE because it will ruin the code. Now that your buttons work again (main menu), fly to Saffron City. Head right towards the gate where the guard is (the one that lets you pass when you gave him a drink earlier). You will notice that soon as you are near the gate entrance, the main menu will automatically show up. DO NOT SAVE here. Press B and then the screen will start to flash (like as if you were running into a wild pokemon). Mew will appear. This is your only chance to capture him (unless you go to the save file before the Gambler). there is another code that works (i just did it) |
