Poll Spoiler:
Info Hack Name: Pokémon Identity Hack Of: FireRed(U) [BPRE] Author: VGAura Language: English Intro Happy New Years everybody. I started this hack almost a year ago and since then, I’ve become quite skilled at scripting. I want to make a Pokémon game that has a larger emphasis on story and character development. I didn’t want to reveal anything about this hack until I felt satisfied with how it turned out. Well, it’s been almost a year so I figured I’d release the demo anyways. Enjoy Log February Began planning 2/13/09: Officially started the hack 2/21/09: Completed Prologue 2/23/09: Began Chapter 1 4/27/09: Research Starters 4/29/09: Completed Starters 6/4/09: Completed Chapter 1 Main Scripts 6/11/09: Begin Chapter 1 Sidequests 6/24/09: Completed Lava Cake Sidequest 7/13/09: Completed Vixie Sidequest 8/12/09: Completed Final Touches on Chapter 1, Begin Chapter 2 Mapping 9/11/09: Begin Chapter 2 Main Scripts 9/20/09: Main Scripts in Silvertone City/Sewers Complete 11/7/09: Main Scripts in Sid’s Inn Complete 11/20/09: Scripts in Silvertone Pass Complete 11/25/09: Major Scripts and Demo Ending Skit Complete 12/22/09: Sewer Trainers Implemented 12/26/09: Items Implemented 12/27/09: Extra Scripts Complete 12/28/09: Final Touches Done 12/29/09: Began Primary Testing 12/30/09: Completed Primary Testing 12/31/09: Began/Completed Secondary Testing 1/1/10: Thread Posted and Demo #1 Released 1/4/10: Began Character Designs 1/5/10: Basic Scripting Complete for First Chapter 3 “Mini-game” 1/8/10: Completed Id’s OW Walking Sprites 1/15/10: Began Protagonist Front Sprites 1/17/10: Complete Protagonist Front Sprites 2/10/10: Revamped Female Id’s Front Sprite Story In Auria City, the region’s 100th annual Pokémon League tournament is being held. As the tournament commence, a young child writes in a journal about how festive the city has become… Our protagonist Id (pronounced EED) wakes up in an unknown location and discovers that most of his/her body has been replaced with mechanical parts. Startled, Id is determined to escape and find out what is going on but doing so will not be easy when there are strange scientists determined to capture him/her. However, with the help of a mysterious woman, the protagonist manages to grab a Pokémon before escaping the building through the back entrance. Id barely manages to avoid his/her pursuers before sneaking onboard a ship, not knowing where it will go… About the game
Starters Starters are Machop, Ralts, and Seedot Furthermore, their base stats and movepool have been modified to match regular starters. Of course everything is subject to changes throughout releases. http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r414/llxarcxll/PkmnID/Capture-1.png Characters There will be 7 main characters along with the protagonist. Id (Or whatever name you chose) – The protagonist of this hack. Id is on a journey to return to his/her hometown, or at least what s/he believes is his/her hometown. Congrats for making it into the Showcase, are you going to change the OW so it has mechinal parts?
|
Yes, I do plan on changing the OW of all the main characters but I haven't decided on what they look like as of yet, except for the mysterious woman whom I'm already started designing her sprite.
To answer your question: No, those parts will be hidden under clothing. Wouldn't you freak out if you saw someone with a mechanical arm walking around? |
Coll, this hack look's promising, are you gonna change the music in the game as well?
|
Well, my main hacking adviser, Christos, told me to play this game because it looked promising, so I did and I have to say that I really like it. Mainly because it's something different, and has a good sense of humour. I miss some tile changes (the lighthouse could have some improvements), but I can't really say it's too necessary.
At first, I was scared I would need the cake to progress (and I was going to complain about a lack of money sources to beat all the money-drinking sidequests), but since they aren't, I'll just shut up and say that it just adds to the entertainment, you don't see many sidquests in games right at the beggining. The scripts, well, they are really well made, so chapeau there. About the starters, the stat boost makes them grow somewhat faster than usual, so it's really great for lazy bums like myself XD I also like the high amount of pokemon available out there, I already caught 17 by Silvertone. I have seen some glitches, though: the borders of the text box in the lighthouse elevator stay during the animation, and in the entrance to Battle Road there are characters popping out of nowhere (Brandon and the guy next to the stairs inside- screenshots 1 2 3 4); plus some grammar issues (not leaving a space after dotting, or this). But, for now, I really like the idea of the hack. Good job, and please keep working on this, it has a good potential. |
Nice to see this in showcase. Hope you will make more great hacks when this is finished :)
|
First of all, I want to say I respect your method of making a lot of progress before you made the thread, thats what I am planning on doing and I dont see why more people dont do it.
I'm planning on playing this later today and I will let you know how it goes, but I already get a feel that this has major potential. I would consider adding some screenshots or some videos or something to give people a feel for the game. |
This hack looks like it has a lot of potential. Keep up the good work.
|
To RedSonicX:
I can’t answer for sure since I haven’t really thought about that. However, I do feel that sometimes the music doesn’t fit whatever is happening in the game so there is a good chance the music will be changed someday. To Went: It’s nice to hear that the Optional Quests, scripts, and starters are working the way I intended them to. Also thanks for telling me the glitches/grammatical errors and they will be fixed. You would be surprised at the amount bugs/glitches/grammatical errors I found when I play-tested the first two times. To Live Update King: Thanks for the comment but its way too early to be thinking about another hack especially since it took me almost a year to complete two chapters and there’s still 8 more chapters to go. To snap12: I think the reason why people don’t wait until they have a lot finished is because the temptation to show others what they’ve worked really hard on is too great. I admit, I was tempted to release a demo back in July when I completed the last Optional Quest for Chapter 1. Another reason is that people might need help on their hack early on. To The Corrupt Plague: Thanks, I appreciate your support. By the way, I was wondering if anyone has completed the demo yet or encountered any game-breaking bugs. Furthermore, what do you guys think of the story/dialogue? |
I've completed the demo, but found no "game breaking" bugs.
This is really good. Good luck! |
AWESOME HACK!!!
I love the story line seriously...i cant wait for what happens yet, im really stumped on whats going to happen to the main character after his "death" Well good luck on completing it, cant wait till this thing is complete On the side quests and other stuff like that...you should try to put a reward system or somthing like that for when you do complete side missions, or have like the TV program talk about how good your character is... No i did not encounter any bugs, but i think i saw when the deputy "May" Character it came out as Deputy Jenny or something i really can remember i was reading it fast... Continue the awesome Hack!!! |
I'm just going to put it straight: I throughly enjoyed the demo.
The events were intriging. Kept up the excitement without being too fast. And as I walked through the towns, you had me worrying (and anticipating!) what would happen to Id next. The sidequests piling up at the beginning seemed a bit overwhelming at first, but I soon found that the ways in which they were completed were entertaining. Especially the rewards, I certainly didn't expect to get a chance to trade for a Pokemon. I also liked the story, the cut off word at the end of the note in the beginning was actually quite disturbing, (in a good, suspenseful way.) The characters were quite a bit interesting themselves. The one I find the most interesting is Lilah, with her casual speech and unexpected antics. Aster was a great addition, his personality contrasts with Id's seemingly dimmer one. On that note, I'd like to reccomend that you give Id a personality on par with Lilah's. I think I'd make their confrontation much more interesting. (I'm imagining a sort of exchange of threats, that sort of thing.) Id doesn't seem (in personality) like much of a convincable criminal to me. (It might make the authorites confused of Id's motives.) Perhaps it would be more believable to make Id seem like something of an Anti-Hero. Maybe he or she could be a deadpan snarker with the occational psychotic smirk. Or maybe Id feels a bit uncomfortable around normal people because he/she has a mostly robotic body. Don't get me wrong however, an innocent or high-spirited character is great too; a contrast to Lilah. Also, one question. Is "Id" referring to the Psychological term? If it is, then I'd like to say I named my Ralts "Ego." Haaa... All in all, I really like how Identity is turning out. It's so fun, I can hardly wait for the next two chapters! Keep going with it! |
I just downloaded the Demo and I'm about to start playing it. It seems really cool by the description! I'll be watching this hack...
Edit: I'm playing the Demo right now, and I have to say that I love it! However, I'm a bit... stuck. I can't seem to figure out what to do after giving that orb thing to the twins... I mean, I know I have to go to the next town, but I can't seem to figure out how... Don't get me wrong though, I love the game play and just about everything about this hack so far! It's a great storyline, and I'm really enjoying myself. |
Quote:
Hope that helps you out |
I’m glad everyone is enjoying the story.
As for Id’s personality, I am thinking about giving him/her a cheerful, upbeat, and perhaps naïve personality to start with but gets progressively darker as s/he uncovers more secrets about the world around him/her. So in other words, I’m giving Id a slightly modified personality of Aster. Also, I’m already starting to design the Hero and Heroine’s sprites and overworlds. Now, about the hack itself: Should I have made the next destination after giving the orb to the twins more obvious? Are there too few Pokémon that can learn Cut in that stage of the game? I can’t believe I didn’t fix that error with the deputy. I actually caught that error on both my play-tests but forgot to fix it both times. |
Um, at the start of the game, when it asks you for the name of your sister, it gives a list of pre-defined names, then a picture of Gary Oak (?). Just thought I'd point that out, it's somewhat confusing...
|
Quote:
Well personally i thought that when i was in the forest and then suddenly i appear in a Time Stand Still Zone i was like "ok wtf?" but yea.. On the Cut using pokemon though... thats a different stroy.. the only pokemon i found that could learn cut was nicuada (however you spell it) But im hoping there is a way to get the second badge before going through the demo part of the story itself. |
Cut was easy.
Maybe I'm lucky, but... Spoiler:
|
Well, I finished the beta and I have to say that it's one of the best storylines I have seen, and the execution is just great. The scripts are really variated, not over the top and never any more than the necessary. Please don't stop this, because it would be a great loss.
About the lack of pokémon with Cut, you should add some more Odissh, Rattata, Bellsprout, etc. Simple enough for a forest. And I have to say a thing: I love the great number of healing spots. There is only one thing more annoying than games with overleveled pokémon: games with overleveled pokémon where, after beating a helltrainer in a cave, you are forced to spend 5 minutes walking back to the "nearest" pokémon center just to find out that there are still a lot of helltrainers waiting for you. Not like your trainers have specially strong pokes (in fact, I think the guys from the sewers could work with a couple more of levels, but I'm a lazy bum so better ignore this suggestion, the weaker the easier it is to keep progressing XD). Also, the "End of beta" sequence is by far the most awesome I have ever seen. In my life. Period. But since I'm known by my beta-testing pickyness, have a few errors: - The tile behind the character is wrong. - You might want to move the ladder a tile up. The character appears to be jumping on the rock. - Sadie or Jennie? Name mistake here. EDIT: I think you already caught this one XD |
A promising sounding hack, what with the emphasis on character development.
|
The game is good, the idea of Battle Road, the Lighthouse, Lava Cake, Silverton slums and sewers, the Inn with an Azure Horizons/ Kanye West reference, cliffhanger with Lilah using Earthquake is very interesting. The only problem I have is the wild Pokemon in the sewer, I need more Repels!
|
Ok, I've made a note of all the problems you guys mentioned.
I'm glad that you guys enjoyed the demo and I want to make sure that there aren't any problems that would cause the player to get stuck. I'm mostly referring to the bridge scripts in the sewers and whether whiting out would cause the player to get stuck. So, please let me know if anything like that happens. |
the guard says i can't get to silverstone, what should I do then?
|
I can't believe how awesome this demo was. I can't wait to see the project come to fruition. This is what I've always wanted in a Pokemon game: a gritty storyline.
The storytelling is flawless by the way. I only saw one spelling error, though I can't remember when. (I DO know that "were" was misspelled "where".) Bravo! |
Okay, this hack is seriously well though out. And wow, a year's work! you must be really proud of this hack!
So, I made a test, so far I'm fighting the pixie guardian. Now, just telling you about two things I've noticed: Spoiler:
Good luck with it! You're my 2nd favourite hack in preference right now, after Sienna, so I may not have voted for you on Hotm, but you definately got my vote on Hack of the Week! (and people should actually start voting as well, one day left until next week's nomination). |
:D
Hello! I'm very knew to hacks and yours was the first I tried. It was amazing!!! :D I can't wait to see what else happens.
Also, I'm pretty sure this has been addressed, but the next hack you make, will we have to start from the beginning? D: I have some really awesome pokemon. I'm also going to reply the game so I can see if they're any problems :D Unfortunately I can't play it on mah PSP |
I would like to thank everybody for their feedback.
About having to start over in the next demo, I’ll make it so you don’t have to start from scratch but if you do, there will be plenty of revised maps, dialogue, and scripts along with additional side-quests including one in the sewers that I had planned but didn’t manage to finish. |
Interesting. I wonder where you got the idea for the slums. It seems interesting to me.
|
I'm too impatient to wait a year for the next release:P
I'm really excited to find out what happens after the player "dies"! did you have to end the demo there?!:disappoin |
Definitely :)
After all, that was the best way I could think of to end the demo. End it with something suspenseful in the mini-chapter, otherwise it would just end with the player walking out of the warehouse, and nobody wants a boring ending like that. Anyways, I've been doing some spriting and, needless to say, the result didn't turn out the way I would have liked. http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r414/llxarcxll/PkmnID/Sprites/SpriteSheet.png It looks okay here but when animated the sprites look stiff and flat. I don't know what the problem is. http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r414/llxarcxll/PkmnID/Sprites/IdFrontM.jpg I had a lot of color related problems with male Id so the final result just ended up with horrible colors. http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r414/llxarcxll/PkmnID/Sprites/IdFrontF.jpg Female Id's pose is a little awkward. Also, how can I make her look more feminine. If someone with spriting experience would give me advice on how I can improve these, I would really appreciate it. |
Hmm. Maybe you could give the female Id longer hair to make her look more feminine?
I will say that I like the way you did both of their jackets. One question, is that thing on their heads a helmet or something else? |
Ive played through the hack and I have to say it seems this hack is getting alot of hype. This kind of hack doesnt really fit in the pokemon genre. The hack would probably work out better as a completely different genre of game. Because right now it doesn't really seem to focus much on Pokemon. It has good scripts nonetheless. Though the mapping could use some major work. A Nintendo styled map would probably work out the best. The lack of new sprites or graphics really irritate me, since it sounds like this hack would need a lot of new graphics and your just using the default fr tiles (which are nice don't get me wrong) but the hack just needs some new sprites. Anyways Here's a list I recommend you improve on the game.

I admit that the game doesn't focus too much on Pokémon but the connection is there (one scene mentions that the protagonist is able to talk to a certain kind of Pokémon which becomes a significant fact later in the story) and I might as well say this now since the titlescreen won't be completed for some time. The cover Pokémon will be the Unown.
Also, the plot is already written down and checked thoroughly for consistency so forcing any inclusion would just make it feel out of place. I'm mapping with the mindset of creating areas of the Pokémon world that are less traversed. I know that doesn't make any sense but I'm more or less experiementing for the time being. What I plan hope to do is find a style (and not just mapping either) different from Nintendo that also works. After all, its easy to mimic Nintendo's formula because, well, it works but we've seen that already. I'm doing my best to mix up the standard formula so the player's experiences with this hack are different than the regular Pokémon game. I didn't plan on changing the graphics but the sewers, at the very least, needs a custom tileset. All main characters will receive new sprites, in fact, you can check out the drafts of the protagonist's sprite a couple posts up and yea, they are wearing helmets. |
Where does the demo end at because the guard wont let me in to silverstone? Also i found a grass area in the Ancient Grove past the Timeless Grove that you just cant walk on but its not major or a big deal just wanted to point that out.
|
i just finished demo 1 of this pokemon game and it is my favorite game of all time now!
i love this game dude, the story is awesome and better than all the pokemon games i've ever played keep up the amazing work! ur so awesome for coming up with this = D |

The Demo ends After you "Die"... |

Anyways, nice work on this. Normally, I get bored of 3rd gen hacks pretty quickly, but this has me hooked. |
I like your style. The point of these hacks is something original, so you rock!!!
Quote:
|
Finally got round to finishing the demo. Love those references in there (Especially Chester. A. Bum).
The interactions and characters are awesome too. Especially Lilah and her remark for when you try and get past a homeless person blocking the path... |
I just gotta say... This hack is one of the most awesome hacks I've ever seen!^^ I git hooked by the stroy in the first minutes of gameplay!^^ In every town I really asked myself what will happen to Id next and I was always even more hooked in when a important event (dream) happened!^^ I also felt quite uneasy or sometimes a little scared in the sewers everytime I read the things the guys were saying (depends on what they said, the guy that always said something about Pay Day scared me a bit)...^^ And the ending is soo epic, I can't wait for the next beta release (hope it'll be earlier than you said...^^)
And the new OWs: The male one is great, he suits to the story with his look and in a special way, he looks pretty cool!^^ I just think that the female hero looks too male... Maybe longer hair and a more female outfit, and it'll be alright!^^ |
Never mind got passed it.
|
Quote:
Thanks but i just figured that out a day after my post on here..lol. Also i wanted to say the the demo was the best i seen yet out there and i like how it ended. VGAura you put hard work and effort in this demo. I wish you the best for the next one. Keep it up with the good work and thanks for letting me play your ideas and skills. |
Those overworld sprites are nice. I can't really tell from my mobile screen, but if they look stiff when they walk, make sure the stepping frames are one pixel lower than the stationary frames. That makes their heads bob while walking, which may be your problem..
Although on closer inspection (again, on my small screen) you appear to have done that. I don't know, just insert them and when people see them animated for themselves, you'll get more accurate feedback. I wouldn't worry too much, they seem fine to me. As for the trainer sprites, I like Female Id, don't touch her:D Male Id.. Make him a bit more blue rather than that gray/black. (don't even redo the sprite, just do a palette change). It should be fine, then. I actually remember playing this demo before, I wasn't sure. It was really great. I found it a tiny bit annoying that everytime you met the person you were looking for, you'd have to keep going, but it wasn't that bad, and I'm lazy, so that's the only thing I'd say against it, but don't pay it any heed. Keep going the way you're going. It's no surprise to me that this is in the Showcase. Best of luck :) |
Will sprites for trainers like Bum be changed too? I like the choice of starters you made: Machop, Ralts, and Seedot.
|
Any progress or updates, VGAura?
You haven't been posting lately. |
I was in such a good mood yesterday with the Gen V reveal and all, I've decided to revamp the female protagonist sprite.
I just got this done and I'm actually satisfied with the results this time. http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r414/llxarcxll/PkmnID/Sprites/Capture.png |
Quote:
Oh, and by the way, I'm gonna download this now. |
Quote:
And the sprite looks great! Good work on it. |
I'm liking the way this hack is very story-oriented and actually has an original story rather as opposed to hacks which just throw you against "an evil team the wants to capture a legendary". Well done, those screenshots really are very appealing. Your map layouts are terrific!
I just want to point out that choosing Seedot gives you an advantage above the two other starters. Dark is immune tp psychic, not just resistant. Keep it up! |
hey i liked the hack alot it is very intresting and nice
cannot wait for chapter 2 and or 3 |
Hey, you managed to look her more female without losing this special feeling about her!^^ She looks pretty good now, nothing to say against her!^^ Any other things you've done so far (I don't wanna be annoying or something but I even played through it a 2nd time because it's so epic and I also looked at all the maps after you played through the demo and right now, I'm even more excited about this, I'm even so far that I'm grinding to pwn the grass gym leader you put into Silvertone!^^)
|
I am hooked. I am ****ing HOOKED. <3
During the third rival battle, it hit me. You set up a completely new starter type triangle. Dark->Psychic->Fighting I'm impressed. Never would have thought of that. Also, you win instant bonus points for having Ralts as a starter. If there is any way I can help, any at all, just ask. I want to see this completed as fast as possible (without sacrificing quality of course). |
What you've done with this is amazing. Never before have I been so captivated by the story to a Pokemon hack, or any Pokemon game at all. You've done a great job with that, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
|
I just got 2 words for this hack.... 100% awesomeness.
Can't wait till rest are up. |
I like the player character sprites. The helmet is cool also. Where do you deliver the Lava Cake?
|

great game and very original
i did found a grammar glitch it's when you have the dream about your mom she said something about your sister and here being worried anyway don't remember the words but you should fix it |
Well, the hack is not bad
Although I really like that do not change the graphics on Fire Red, no, it's like losing style do you recommend for a more proper, moreover, is well ^ ^. Good luck with the hack Greetz! |
Quote:
I'll show you a list of it. Don't take me wrong though, I just wanted to improve this Hack. Spoiler:
Apart from the 30 grammar mistakes, this Hack's pretty cool and original. And I have a question. Will you make OWs for the major people? Like Kaius, Aster, the mysterious girl, etc.? I hope you do, because that will make the Hack better. |
In the next alpha are we returning to the slums? The names like Bum and Bug Catcher are capitilized, is that going to be fixed? Good ROM Hack VGAura!
|
Quote:
Go to A-Trainer, and decapitalize the Trainer Names. It's very simple. It's just like taking a candy from a baby. |
Thanks for making such a thorough search for grammar errors.
Thanks to you, I understand now that I need to make sure my contractions are correct in the future. I don't quite understand what you are trying to say about this one, I think you made a typo. Is it just to decapitalize the "d" in Do? Quote:
|
Quote:
Thanks. Oh! And I didn't make a typo or anything, I just wanted to say to decapitalize the "D" in "do", but I just don't know how to spell decapitalize at that time and it would be stupid to spell a word wrong during a grammar mistake report. |
hey thanks for making such a great hack! ive never played one like it and i hope the next beta will be released before 2011...
|
This absolutely blew my mind.
Me posting about it should be 'nuff said, considering I never do so. Keep up the good work. |
After playing the demo, I wanted to say:
I absolutely love the storyline; as well as Seedot's new moveset. Keep up the good work, I'll be looking out for it. ;) |
I hope we get to see more progress soon. I completed the demo, and I'm dying to see what happens after the player "dies"! It's coming along well, I'm very impressed. This is definitely one I'm going to keep an eye on.
|
So much fun
The demo was tons of fun, is this hack still progressing?? I want to know cause i look forwards to playing it more :).
|
I actually think its better than the official pokemon games. I just know I will have forgotten about it when the next demo is out so i'm putting the banner in my sig to remind me.
|
Oh... My... God... This hack was freaking AWESOME! I loved it so much. I can't wait for the next part. I love this game for the fact it is just random, like me! I am in the process of working on a hack and I have to say, this just gives me inspration to go crazy with it. I would love to make something like this, not story wise, but humor and just that type of stuff I love. This was very well done, good job. (Btw, my fav. part in the whole game is the part where you are kicking the bum, not because kicking bums is fun, I never tried it, just it was an awesome part)
|
Oh, I hope more updates come soon!
I'm thinking about starting over just to play it again... I love this hack! BTW, for all you lazy people or those who aren't exactly the best... Ralts is the best starter to choose if you do the sidequests for the girl with the Vulpix. She'll eventually trade you her Vulpix for a Hoppip, so then your Vulpix will be super-effective against Aster's Seedot/Nuzleaf, and vulpix and kirlia will be super-effective against a tough Heracross you'll be fighting in the story. |
I couldn't find a way into silvertone so I walked through the slums and got into a place where police got me then into an underground tunnel where a girl was and then into a gym with the person who helped at the start in.Also the first time I played it when I walked out of the door the scientists didn't react and I went into a room with an unown in.

As for updates, I'm currently making the OW sprites for Aster, Lilah, ??? (a.k.a. Mysterious Woman), Kaius, and Vivi. I should finish their sprites in a week or two. |
good game man!!! i think the story is great!!! keep up the good work! :D
i mean its like an original game!!! can't wait for the next chapter! :D thank you for this awesome hack!!! |
VGAura, i love you.
This hack should get hack of the generation! You have an official fangirl! If there is anything i can help you with, spriting, testing, anything, please let me know!. xxxxxxx |

If this was one of the hacks I could vote for, for Hack of the Month I'd vote for it.

I think I found a bug.. Very early in the beginning when you come out of the genetics lab, and you walk down the stairs I suddenly get an exclamation mark above my head and run to a nearby truck. But then nothign happens.. I keep pressing buttons but I just stand there, presumably looking at something that won't come.
It looks very promising though, so I hope you can give me a hint or maybe fix it. Below is a picture of where I stand.. |
I like the Lighthouse at the beginning of the game! Is it important in later on in the game? Also does it seem like the Lighthouse in Marine Harbor is embedded into the mountain?
|
It's like I am watching a movie, so much excitment =D
Really, I love this hack, for some reason it really makes me feel like it's the best hack I ever played. I often say yea very good hack but this one is for real. The plot makes you wanna play more, and I read every single sentence thats being said. Really I love it =] Don't give this hack up =D I wish you good luck with making the next chapter ^^ |
OMFG, this hack is phenomenal!! The game plot is very thorough, and I really like the starter set on this one ^^ (Ralts FTW!) Haven't played a really good hack in a big while! I definitely can't wait for the next release!! This is worthy of being Hack of The Year =D Keep it going!

I just started playing this game and I've got to say, it's been really well put together, I'm loving the unusual story and you clearly put a lot of effort into it.
One thing I have to ask though, how will Machoke evolve into Machamp if there is nobody to trade with him? |
wow, i just finished beating the hack (as the female character), and honestly, this is one of my favourite hacks ive played. a great story, a nice mix of pokemon to catch and train, and a good challenge too! i wish the release date wasnt so far off, but i will be waiting in anticipation for it!
Pros: - Great & Original Story - Good Challenging Level range - Nice mix of wild and available pokemon - you left the some of the original scripts in the game, giving even more replay value Cons: -Why'd it have to end already!? 9.5/10 Although at the end... i somehow have a feeling that those cybernetic implants may have saved her(or him) at the end, so the story seems even more interesting now. |
There was a useful little glitch that I have kept to myself for long enough, it's about time I shared it because I saw no one mention this. You can get infinite master balls and all you need to do is use the walk through walls code in Marine Harbor. Just search around the area east of the southern Lighthouse entrance in Marine Harbor until you find a sailor standing next to what looks like an old Amber. Take it and it will give you a masterball, and to make things better, it regenerates after one step! Repeat and profit.

Is strange...the game keeps freezing when I leave the lab. =|

Has anyone else come across that problem? Or maybe you the FRed ROM you used wasn't a clean one. |
I believe that the ROM that you used was already hacked or something then you patched the game into it. xD
|
Maybe you should change from IPS to APS.
You see, APS causes less trouble and it's also more stable. |

From now on, I'll upload both APS and IPS.
Do you guys want the APS for demo 1? |
This looks amazing so far, I'm impressed. :D
Now, first off. The intro needs a bit of work. Obviously, it's not the most important aspect of gameplay, yet the FR title screen and Obviously male Sister bugged me. X.x However, I do love that my character actually gets dialogue. Beginners package is possibly the greatest new idea I have ever seen. :D Nintendo should take a hint from you. ON TO BUGS: Spoiler:
The storyline was rather entrancing, and I can't wait for the next installment. Keep up the good work. |
This game looks fun to play. I'll try it out tomorrow and I'll tell you if i like/hate it okay

That would help some people. |
I am sorry to say this, but I did not like this hack. I'm not saying this to belittle you or make you feel bad, but I am saying this to help you for later on. This is constructive critisicm and if I offend you I'm sorry.
Here are my following complaints: 1. What does a Cyborg have to do anything with Pokemon? 2. What do ghost twins have anything to do with Pokemon? 3. The characters weren't believable. They didn't seem to have any real emotion. 4. The Plot seems to be more based off of a Sci-Fi movie than with Pokemon. You need to watch out for that. Pokemon games have to be primarily based around Pokemon. 5. I like what you did with putting yourself as an NPC. People always like that. Thank you for taking the time to look at my complaints. With all regards, -ChrisTom |

1 (oh, and 2): Who said this was strictly enforced to stay true-and-blue to the Pokemon generics? If someone wants to step out of the box, they're perfectly welcome to. ): 3: They're more believable than pretty much any other hack, sir. :D 4: No, they don't. :> Seriously, if he invests his time on making a hack, he can make it however and do whatever he wants it to do. Perhaps you don't like it that way, but there's no 'guideline' that one must follow when making a hack. 5: Sure dude. :D |
First time trying out this hack and I absolutely loved it... Keep up the great work.
