Would you be in the postion of a bully or bystander in this case?.

If you saw someone being teased by a bullie and they were your best friend would you go up to the bullie and say something? Or would you be a bystander and do nothing even if your bff saw you? (and you know your bff will get mad at you if you don't help him/her at a time like this).

What would you do?.

Banjora Marxvile January 2nd, 2010 2:14 PM

You may want to change your choice of words in the question, as you need to say your friend is being picked on. At first, I thought the friend was the bully.

Anyway, I've stood up to a friend-bullier before, and I'd do it again just not near a pebble-dashed wall... They hurt!

BHwolfgang January 2nd, 2010 3:47 PM

In your poll, you didn't include the option of stand up..

I would stand up to the bully. I highly doubt that my best-friend would get picked on, but if such a day happens... I'll be there for him.

Corvus of the Black Night January 2nd, 2010 4:11 PM

I would be the one being bullied. lol

I wouldn't be either, actually - or rather, I would be the bystander that doesn't really stand by but rather beats the crap outta that guy.

Jason C January 2nd, 2010 4:14 PM

I would stand up to the bully, then get beaten the living daylights out of, but atleast I spared my friend. :)
(This has actually happenned.)

Legobricks January 2nd, 2010 5:01 PM

Good luck to the bully is all I can say. They're going to be ignored until in frustration they walk away.
But yeah, I've no qualms about socking some prick in the back of the neck if it goes too far.

mikey January 2nd, 2010 6:12 PM

I'd stand up to the bully if they were picking on my best friend, because I know that they would do the same if I was the one being bullied.

True Reign January 2nd, 2010 11:55 PM

If the bully doesn't stop, then he needs to expect a punch in the face.

Nick January 3rd, 2010 12:01 AM

I added a poll option to stand up to the bully since that seems to be something that's been pointed out that was clearly meant to be included in the poll, but must have been overlooked or forgotten.

Anyway, in this case, I know for a fact that my best friend doesn't have the time to deal with bullies, so I wouldn't have to do anything as she can take care of herself just fine and easily deal with the bully, regardless of what needs to be done. So I choose to do nothing simply because I don't need to do anything as she's done it before.

Game Over1375 January 3rd, 2010 12:01 AM

I clicked I don't know... because the option of stand-up to the prick was not available.

A knuckle sandwich with all the fixings fed to the bully's mouth would stop the problem.

Uecil January 3rd, 2010 12:06 AM

I would probably the one bullied but if it was a friend i would stand up to the bully for my friend even though my friend doesnt do the same for me but i would still stand up to the bully

Zet January 3rd, 2010 12:16 AM

I would probably stand up to the bully and defend someone, however if I was being bullied, I would shrug it off

Unforgettable January 3rd, 2010 6:20 AM

I would stand up for my friend. That's how I am. I don't care what happens to me or what others think. And I would do anything for almost any body.

vanna. January 3rd, 2010 7:45 PM

I'd stand up for my friend. I've done it before and I'd do it a million times again.
I'm just so over taking people's crud and being afraid of what will happen if I stand up for myself or someone else.
If you asked me a year ago though, the answer would have been different...

iLaxbe! January 3rd, 2010 8:30 PM

It happened once with me and I standed up to the bullie, of course.

In the end, my friend was telling me to calm down.. I get really mad at this stuff.

Idiot! January 3rd, 2010 11:56 PM

I do not have anyone to protect bullies from. It's always me the bully chooses and nobody dares stand up to the bully, so witnesses are mere bystanders absorbed by the drama. If my friends are bullied, I would probably go get help. People might think I am a coward running away (which is good if the bully thinks I am not interfering), but true friends understand how my brain works. Sadly, there is one flaw with the idea. The bully may guess there is more to me running away.

Trap-Eds January 4th, 2010 12:20 AM

I would stand by my friend, and stand up for them if needed.

Hiidoran January 4th, 2010 2:24 AM

I know most of my friends would try and save me from any issue I might find myself in, so I would naturally want to do the same for them. That's just friendship in my book.

I don't believe any of my friends ever had bully troubles outside of elementary school to my knowledge, but I suppose this would be one of those issues if it had occurred. I'd have to say I'd do just about anything to get said bully to stop hurting people I hold dear. Guess I'd just have to stand up to 'em, wouldn't I?

Nudge January 4th, 2010 5:15 AM

There's been times when my irl best mate has been getting bullied and I've stepped in to help him out.
So yeah, I'd stand up to the bully.

Klippy January 4th, 2010 8:53 AM

If I saw a friend being bullied, I'd probably say something to whoever was picking on them. I never dealt with the physical bullies, it was mainly guys using words to intimidate, but a witty comeback is all you need to stop that. :>

ArcanineOod January 4th, 2010 4:31 PM

Being teased? Well, I'd most certainly go and help out my friend! What kind of backstabbing witch would I be if I didn't?

xX

Captain Hobo. January 4th, 2010 4:56 PM

Umm I would be a bystander because I like to be in the background.

Taemin January 4th, 2010 5:12 PM

If one of my friends was getting picked on, and I saw it happening, I would punch said bully in the face. >_>

Okay, maybe not.. considering that it would be during school, but I'd do some glaring, throw some insults at them, and then grab my friend and walk off. It's best to just try and ignore bullies, anyway.. if you give them some huge reaction, you're giving them what they want. :/

Guillermo January 4th, 2010 5:24 PM

If it was one of my true friends, and I really cared for that person, I'd probably result in bullying the bully, lol. But if it was just someone I knew or in fact, didn't even know, I'd still talk with the bully. I wouldn't allow myself to stand there and watch it. Though it does depend on what kind of bullying it is as to what action I take.

s0nido January 5th, 2010 1:27 AM

I would stick up to the bully for my friend, and I have done that on more than one occasion. It's instinctive, actually, to tell someone to shut up when they've gone too far with one of my friends. I do it because I know that my friends would do the same for me.

EpsilonE January 5th, 2010 1:43 AM

None of the options I'd do are up there.

Some jock idiot in one of my older schools called my current girlfriend a "Stupid ***** who loves to suck-" of course there's still little kids who come here, so all the rest of you know what he finished that with.

Now I'm a very nice guy, and I rarely ever get in even arguements, but this pushed me waaay over the edge.

I honestly beat the living hell out of him. He got a few punches on me too, but I got him down on the ground.
And of course, I got suspended for that.

I guess closest response is Stand up to the bully

davidthefat January 5th, 2010 10:37 PM

Not much people are bigger than me, if they are, they are chill

Missingno.7-4468 January 5th, 2010 10:47 PM

I would stand up to the bully. Probably moreso with words than actions, but that could change in the blink of an eye.

Pokémon Ranger ✩ Moriarty January 6th, 2010 3:46 AM

If you don't stand up to the bully, then that isn't your best friend that they're bullying. -.-

And I tend to stand up to bullies no matter who they're bullying. They're essentially cowards who can't stand to be stood-up to.

dark charmander January 6th, 2010 11:50 AM

its happened before to a best friend and I stood up for him and would easily do it again

Full Metal January 7th, 2010 4:49 PM

it depends on the situation
if my friend is being punched? I would thank my lucky stars for tae kwon do and kick the bullies butooki
if my friend is being teased? i would re-assure him/her that none of the said things were true
But the odds of this happening are slim cuz i have a really small school...in a really big town O.O like 400-500 kids total and its k-8th grade. there's only 40 of my grade kids, and i'm friends with all but 2, one of which left the school over break. So yea...the odds of that happening are slim.

Soul Eater January 8th, 2010 1:24 AM

Yes. I would definitely go up to the bully and defend my friend. I hate it when my friends are made fun of. I love my friends more than anything so if I know they are hurt than I take great action to stop it.

I probably wouldn't punch them or use violence. I'd rather be the one bullied and not my friend. I've been bullied ever since Kindergarten so it wouldn't be anything I've never dealt with. *shrug*

Saltare. January 8th, 2010 9:57 AM

Stand up to the bully. I've been taught to stand up for myself and others. I won't let my best friend get beat up or teased.

♣Gawain♣ January 9th, 2010 1:10 AM

I would always stand up to the bully, from afar. In that way, It would cause a distraction to the bully.

Although I've never done this before.

Circuit January 9th, 2010 3:00 AM

I would, and have stood up to the bully before, it hurts I know that! But if it's my best friend then I would definately help them, always.

Cheesymitten January 9th, 2010 3:52 AM

I would talk to the bully.
Seriously, I hate seeing my best friend being bullied.
He's had enough of it already,
So yeah.. Talk to the bully
And whoop his ass

Alexithymia~ January 10th, 2010 12:57 AM

^ I'd like to see that Adem.

Anyway, I'd stand up for my friend and maybe even get in a little fight, it's all good.
I mean, who wouldn't? Seriously? Who would just leave their friend there? Dx

Honest January 10th, 2010 9:49 AM

I've always been the reckless type.

I'd go up to him, tell him to stop one. He doesn't listen, then this is where it gets nasty. :P

Conan Edogawa January 19th, 2010 6:34 PM

I always stand up for my friends. If your my friend then I'll have your back no matter what. I've stood up to bullies and been in fist fights because they teased my friends. Usually people stop when I say so though because I'm 6' tall and can look pretty intimidating. And fighting is something that sadly I'm to used to because of some past experiences.

22sa February 11th, 2010 10:59 PM

If I do something, it'd probably be to just drag that friend away from that bully. Otherwise I wouldn't interfere.

Luck February 11th, 2010 11:08 PM

I'd stand up for my friend.
I have connections.

Graceful February 13th, 2010 8:40 AM

I know this is Heartless & Selfish but I would choose the bystander. Because I Wouldn't Want to Get In The Fight And Make Things Worse - But In Other Cicustances (Sp?) I Would Go In And Protect my Friends (And I Would Fight - Using Karate Of Course!) - But There Is Pro's And Con's In Everthing
