Champion worthy?
In emerald, were you shocked to find out that wallace was the new champion? I was freaking out about it! But then again I was sad to find out that steven had been bumped down.
So who do you think is worthy to be the champ. of hoenn, and what are your thoughts about wallace being the new champion in emerald? imo, steven fits the role more than wallace does. Steven Stone the champion. Sounds nice right? |
I personally wasn't phased by it, but I was rather disappointed to know that I could beat him underleveled with the same Sceptile I used on Juan in Sootopolis =/
I think Steven's role is better in Emerald, kinda a 'Red' role. |
I wasn't shocked or amazed by it. I pretty much just thought, "Okay Wallace is the champion this time."
Steven was a better champion. He had harder pokemon to beat and I guess you could say he fit the role. Wallace was extremely easy to beat. I had more trouble with Juan's Kingdra then any of Wallace's pokemon. In the end it was somewhat of a disappointment. |
I thought Wallace was awful, and he was a pushover when I beat Emerald with two Sceptile (female starter ftw. BABIES!). Steven was a better champion role and had a better team in my opinion. Besides, Juan was a water gym leader. Why did we need a water champion? I don't even want to think of how Wallace could have made it through the E4 to even claim the title of champion.
|
i think wallace wasnt a good idea as a champion because of many many thing but still, if Steven would have been the champion it would have been almost the same story of fire red were your rivel is the champion soo...
I prefer Steven, he deserved it |
Wallace uses Water Pokemon meaning those who started with Treecko can make quick work of him.
Steven is supposed to specialize in Steel but he actually uses more than one type making him a better Champion. And we were all annoyed at his Claydol and it's darn dual screens. |
it doesn't matter wheather steven or wallace is the champion, with a level 70 rayquaza (which is really suck) i claimed the champion title without any difficulty
|
I didn't like wallace being the champ.
Steven was pwnage, but I guess Wallace needed some credit too. But again, I didn't like it. |

Yeah, I think that Steven is more worthy of the title of Champion. And he doesn't use all Steel types (like his Claydol), which makes the battle more interesting. At the same time, I think his role as a wandering trainer in Emerald fits him better. I don't see him as a Champion that sits in that room all day waiting for challengers. He'd be outside traveling and looking for those rare stones. He's kind of like Red in that sense, which isn't really a bad thing.
|
Yeah, although i only ever had Emerald, i thought Steven was more champion-ey, but i agree with everyone else, in that Steven wouldn't sit still.
Still, i struggled against his Ludicolo, not knowing what was super-effective on his typing, and that Double Team + Leech Seed combo with a powerful Surf held me up. Whenever i had a grass-type, it was Tropius, so Tentacruel pwnd me.Normally i use Manectric, which would come in second after i set up a rain dance, sweep with Thunder, until i switched out coz of whishcash. So, Wallace was still strong enough. |
I have to agree that Steven is more of a champion, except he's more likely to travel than just sit in the Pokemon league Hall. A lot like your character actually. Wallace is easier to beat, except I remember one of his Pokemon abusing Double Team...
But still, it's harder to type-match against Steven's team. |
Even though I thought that Steven had been a more able Champion than Wallace, his role in Emerald were more suiting to him.
I just wish that they were to find a better Champion other than Wallace. |
Steven's more of a mover-arounder and a Red, which he is in Emerald. His role actually fits his personality there.
Wallace is more suited to be a pansy and battle people with crappy Pokemon. |
I prefer Multi types, like Red.
Although I prefer Steven, was a little harder than the water types of Wallace. |
It was because of him that I beat the E4 on my first try with completely underleveled Pokémon (and a Flygon from Colosseum, but that doesn't matter). He was a pushover.
Granted, I've only owned Emerald, but still. He was pretty easy. Not really Champion worthy. |
I don't think they should have switched them.
But Wallace did give me problems. |
I thought it was stupid that they did that...I would be amazed if they had Mr.Stone as the Champion. Or Steven..Steven fits the role..Wallace...Err...He's fit for contests
|
I really didn't care. There's always a surprise in extended versions of Pokemon.
|
I don't get how steven got bumped down, his Pokemon are OVERKILL!! But, I do like the idea of a traveling trainer man like himself. Why sit on your butt beating unworthy people when you could be looking for rare and undiscovered stones?
|
After all the times I played through R/S/E I never once had a water counter on my team other than Sceptile. But I used Blaziken on my first time through Emerald and I thought i'd be fine after I took care of Wallace at Sootopolis. Boy was I wrong.
|
I was literally pissed when I found out, 'cause I knew that I would kill Wallace easily with my super-awesome-sexy Sceptile. But, hey, Steven would walk around more. It makes more sense to travel around Hoenn looking for stones then sit inside your lonely, uncomfurtable Champion room. By the way, I wonder what does the Elite 4 and Champion do all day, seriously? Do they have like some kind of chill room when there's no challengers and when one comes they all run back in to their rooms, acting like they were there the entire time? Get out of here.
