Extra Region if 5th Gen?

Made a typo in the title. >.>

Let's just say that the 5th generation is going to include a new region, plus an older region that has aged (Like Kanto in GSC and HGSS). What region would you want to see?

I would like to see Hoenn. Kanto has been done to death and Johto and Sinnoh are too recent. I also would prefer a whole region to an area like the Sevii Islands.

Amore February 1st, 2010 1:32 PM

Lol.I'd love them to stick Hoenn,Sinnoh and Sevii Islands in (Sinnoh accessible last), but with both Battle Frontiers.
It'd cram the DS-card to the full, maybe make it DSi only. But it'd be cool. I mean, you have the overly landed region, the overly watered region, and some awesome islands. If they put it on DSi, we'd have all regions on one platform!!(all ranger and mystery dungeon games), well, except for Orre and Battle Revolution.

SuperJames February 1st, 2010 1:57 PM

Why not all of them it will lead to epic game =)

Amore February 1st, 2010 2:03 PM

There is more space than nintendo uses, but i severely doubt there's room

SuperJames February 1st, 2010 2:24 PM

it depends on how much space a next gen (Nintendo) hand held game will have but im betting on about 400mb or so, that should be more the enouth space for 6 regions

.Gamer February 1st, 2010 3:30 PM

All of them + 1 new region would be ideal, but in all honesty, it will probably just be 1 new crappy boring long region....

Kendall February 1st, 2010 5:01 PM

Well they did say that these new games would be a "re-birth" of Pokemon. Most likely this has something to do with the mechanics of the game, but could have something to do with regions. I've always believed the 5th gen games would include Hoenn to travel to after the new region.

Medli February 1st, 2010 5:08 PM

I'd like some reference to Hoenn. I'm not sure if I'd want to go back and go through all the gyms again (like what G/S/C did with Kanto), but a visit back to Hoenn would be pretty nice. Then we could fight Steven, and he'd have ridiculously overpowered Pokemon like Red, and it would be totally boss.

Please no more Kanto. I love Kanto and all, but we've gone back enough already! Kanto was the main attraction of the first gen. The second gen had us giong back after Johto. The third gen had the remakes, which I personally didn't like, but, oh well. And now the fourth gen has HG/SS, which means back to Kanto we go. It's fun and all, but I'm getting to the point where I could go through that region in my sleep.

Lady Gaga February 1st, 2010 5:17 PM

Hoenn, for sure. That is the last one to be remade, so seeing it would be cool. Actually, I would like it even more if they were separate remake games.

Myles February 1st, 2010 7:11 PM

Hoenn. The main problem with Hoenn is that it is a main region, which it obviously isn't capable of being. But as a secondary, it should do well.

spike6958 February 1st, 2010 8:31 PM

I would like all of them in one, but picking just one would have to be Hoenn, it's the only one not on DS.

That's a good point, I'd have to agree. Hoenn, despite being an amazing region, just doesn't seem like it should have the main role. The replay value is pretty bad, and it begins to be a bore after a while. Hoenn feels kind of like it should be a bit like the Battle Zone. An area with intense terrain, rare Pokemon, and fewer population than most other regions.

mattman324 February 2nd, 2010 4:40 PM

None. Of. The. Above.

I prefer they spend time making a GOOD region, unlike Johto, instead of focusing on remakes.

GlitchCity February 3rd, 2010 2:03 PM

HOENN!!!!!!!! and maybe the sevii islands since they're both tropical regions. Please no more kanto, if I have to go there again Im gonna rip my brain out. Johto, enough we're done with it. And Im not ready to go back to sinnoh yet.

Moltres111 February 3rd, 2010 2:14 PM

Hoenn and the Sevii Islands.

I have to agree with you. Hoenn was a great region, but not extremely fun to play through over and over and over again. I was way more impressed the first time I played Emerald than the first time I played FireRed. I'm listening to the HGSS remix of the Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza theme now because it's epic btw. =)

NO MORE KANTO. The only reason anyone likes Kanto anymore is because they wear fashionable nostalgia glasses. If GameFreak could realize Kanto has been overdone to the extreme (being in every damn generation is a good example), maybe we could have a Kanto-less generation. That would be better than..

i'm not even gonna go there.

Also, the Sevii Islands were fun. At least compared to Kanto imo.

colcolstyles February 3rd, 2010 5:00 PM

How about the Orange Islands? I've always wanted to play through them*, though I'd much rather see an entire game devoted to them than just a post-Elite Four subplot sort of thing. I've never really been satisfied with those, though the Sevii Islands were pretty cool I guess. Anyways, if I had to pick from the "main" regions, I suppose I'd go with Hoenn like everyone else. Seems like the logical choice.

* Yes, I've played Naranja and it's a great hack and all but I'm still waiting for an official, Nintendo-made Orange Islands game

Sydian February 3rd, 2010 5:19 PM

Pssh, this better not be DSi only, otherwise I gotta spend more money than I have, and I don't want that. Do not want! Anyway, I'd like to see Hoenn. It's the only region to not have seen the light of both DS screens (at the same time, of course). Plus I think it would look really good redone.

You gots a problem with mah nostalgia specs? >:C

choogalee February 3rd, 2010 5:34 PM

Definitely Orange Islands! At this point, I don't give a s*** if it's a main game or post-Elite Four!

AshFails February 3rd, 2010 5:43 PM

I put Sevii Islands, but I REALLY want is the Orange Islands. Those have never been in a game, and could provide some new gym battles and such!

Livewire February 3rd, 2010 5:52 PM

id like to see the orange islands too. Like After the elite four you can go there cuz id like it to be extremely tough. a good challenge with wild and trainer pokemon in the 60-70+ range and you have to surf between islands not take a ferry :p

Caelus February 6th, 2010 11:05 PM

I'd like it if they made the extra region Hoenn. Seems to make the most sense to me, especially since it hasn't been used as much, but any of the others would be pretty cool.

JeTz February 6th, 2010 11:24 PM

Orange Island + Hoenn Region wouldn't be a bad idea I doubt that imo.

If too much region to be play it would be too epic and get bored as much as we reached the 3rd region.

Just make more storyline and that would be fined.

McPhilly February 22nd, 2010 10:34 AM

i think the orange islands and maybe a good battle frontier (like the one in the show) would be very fun

Left4Dead February 25th, 2010 7:48 PM

If they HAD to put in an older Region then I'd go with Hoenn just for the simple reason that we haven't seen it in 3D (well 2.5D) yet.

Lt_Nite February 25th, 2010 7:56 PM

Hoenn, we've had enough Kanto already, Johto too with the new remakes and there would be no point for Sinnoh, so yeah I'd love to see Hoenn again as an add on to a new region.
