GSC Word-Themed Team Challenge
While searching for some original challenges, me and Blues003 came up with the idea of the Pokemon Word-Themed Team Challenge! The idea felt as refreshing as original to us, and so we decided to create this topic in order to allow you to have some fun as well.
Rules: 1. In this challenge, you will be assigned a random word from this site, this word will be your team’s theme. You can choose between a noun and an adjective, or both. 2. You may generate more words if the first ones you get are totally impossible for you to think a team out of. 3. You have to justify your Pokemon choices. 4. You have to obtain your first Pokemon before you challenge Whitney. 5. You can use your starter until you get your first Pokemon. 6. The challenge ends when you beat Red. 7. HM Slaves are allowed, and they don’t have to fit your theme. 8. The use of legendaries is not allowed. 9. Trading is only allowed for evolving purposes or in-game trades. 10. Have Fun. Challengers: - mondays suck - "intent" (adjective) - Luigi-San - "mind" - entrancer - "beach" - minchan - "window" - Hayley Williams - "recognized" - yuki3056 - "exclusive" - 560cool - "power" - syphilis - "diabolical" - Team Rocket's Raichu - "infallable" - 11wildy "exploding" - Kbengal - "wind" - LoneStarAkira - "stickiest" - Brendino - "rival" - bustin - "dire" - gold1222 - "gust" - seal - "ocean" - Allstarbarto - "ditch" - myrrhman - "acknowledged" - Editman - "malicious" - hobuso - "distorted" - ~Hot n' Cold~ - "arbitrary" Hall Of Fame: - Blues003 - "physical" - Skweetis - "metalled" - syphilis - "inch" - Skweetis - "offensive" - gold1222 - "spring" - 11wildy "weight" |
Interesting challenge, I'll give it a try. My word is 'Metalled'.
Adjective - (of any object) Made of metal or having metal fittings or plating. So I'll be using only steel types (Self-explanatory) for my team. I'll be using Forretress, Scizor, Skarmory, Steelix and Magneton. |
When I first looked up my word "intent" in an online dictionary, I found multiple translations, and the one I liked best is like "observing". So, I was already planning a team of Pokemon like Sentret, Noctowl and Xatu, but when I looked it up on Wiktionary, I didn't find this definition of the word at all, so I have to change my plans. Instead, I will use Pokemon that are focussed on a certain thing, because:
Adjective intent (comparative more intent, superlative most intent)
Time for my first Update: I started on Silver with Cyndaquil, did all the early stuff while skipping as many non-gym trainers as possible. The only thing I had some real problems with was my rival's Croconaw. Looked for Drowzee (to trade for Machop) or Abra, found Abra first and caught the first one with a Great Ball. Named it Somnus. Bought the Elemental Punch TMs for Somnus. Deposited my level 20 Quilava. Next: Getting Machop, beating the skipped trainers, challenging Whitney. Team: http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/f/fd/Spr_2s_063.png Somnus / Abra f Lv.10 @ / - Teleport - Ice Punch - Thunder Punch - Fire Punch I chose Abra because Kadabra and Alakazam are very focussed on building their telekinetic powers Update:I got pretty far, now I have 7 badges and just beat the last Team Rocket Admin with the Houndoom. Team: http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d0/Spr_2s_065.png Somnus / Alakazam f Lv.33 @ / - Psybeam - Ice Punch - Thunder Punch - Fire Punch I'm trying to keep this as underleveled as possible, Alakazam is overpowered. And the nickname doesn't fit anymore, but I'll keep it anyways. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/8/89/Spr_2s_068.png Muscle / Machamp f Lv.38 @ / - Karate Chop - Leer - Focus Energy - Headbutt I chose the Machop line because they are solely concentrated on building up muscles. Horrible, horrible moveset. I have to work on that. And yes, this Machamp is female. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/dc/Spr_2s_185.png Simularbre / Sudowoodo m Lv.37 @ / - Rock Slide - Dig - Flail - Low Kick Focussed on disguising, that's what it does all day. Surprisingly good, only the slow speed hurts. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/1/15/Spr_2s_128.png Rampage / Tauros f Lv.38 @ / - Strength - Tail Whip - Iron Fail - Hidden Power Bug "once they've started a rampage they will not stop until they hit something" I guess that counts. |
Word: Physical.
The word is pretty self-explanatory. I could give it various meanings, such as 'something that has matter', but that would be just excluding the ghosts, wouldn't it? I decided to use its meaning as in 'They went physical'. Basically, I chose pokemon which I believed, would 'get at it', which I could imagine wrestling. Not necessarily pokemon with higher Attack than Sp Attak, but pokemon which I could picture literally fighting. So, in any case, picked up Totodile as a starter. Named it 'Yo Dawg!' but later disliked the name, and renamed it to 'Jaws'. I could see any of the members of the Totodile line getting some punches on some other poke >_>' I proceeded till Falkner, skipping the Bellsprout tower. Then skipped some more trainers, and got Sandshrew, whom I named Sandwich. Then fought the skipped trainers, and the Bellsprout tower. Kept goin till Bugsy, which was a bit of a pain. Even with 6 Defense Curls, his/hers Scyther could Fury Cutter me to doom. Eventually, once I got both Sandshrew and Croconaw to level 20, I beat her. The rival fell easily, afterwards. At Goldenrod, I soft-resetted until I got a Tyrogue egg, and trained it until it was a sweet Hitmonlee. Name? Norris. Whitney deserves no reference, as she was literally swept by a Defense Curl + Rollout Combo by Sandwich. Morty, on the other hand, was swept by Dig. By Sandwich as well. >_> Gengar did Hypnosis him, but one Awakening was used, and he was good to go. By this time I had noticed Grass and Water types were giving me trouble. I had Grass types covered thanks to Ice Punch, but really did not have anyone who could learn Tpunch. I decided to get Teddiursa. Went to the Dark Cave, but also decided to surf a bit... and went into the 2nd part of the cave. I found not a level 2 Teddiursa, but a freaking level 30 Ursaring. Works for me. Got it, taught it TPunch. Name: Winnie. Chuck was easy enough: Jaws totally raped him. Jasmine was almost swept by Dig, but her Steelix barely survived the last one, and killed Sandwich. I brought in Norris, who Hi Jump Kicked him to oblivion. Pryce deserves no mention. Hi Jump Sweep is all I have to say. I dealt with Team Rocket with barely any trouble. Defeated Suicune too. Claire was easy as well. Sandwich died to the first Dragonair's surf, so I Ice Punch'd with Jaws the 3 Dragonairs. Jaws died to the last one, so now it was Norris + Winnie vs Kingdra. Norris landed one hi jump kick, and survived a HB. He took around 45% of health, so I thought he was pretty much a goner. Next turn, Norris would Hi Jump Kick, Kingdra would recharge, then Claire would heal. Too bad for her, my Hi Jump Kick got a crit, and so Winnie didn't even get any action. Got a Dratini, named it 'Zeus'. I don't see Dratini nor Dragonair as 'Physical', so I won't be using them. I will, however, keep them in my party with an Exp. Share, until they become a Dragonite. A Dragonite certainly fits the description of 'Physical'. And that's it for now. Check my team out. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc160.gif Jaws @ Mystic Water, Level 40 - Surf - Ice Punch - Slash - Bite To be honest, the biggest disappointment. He can hardly help my team, except when I need to deal with Grass types. Of course, he does run from his lower offensive stat, but I can't have a whole team revolving around Attack... http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc028.gif Sandwich @ Amulet Coin, Level 38 - Slash - Dig - Rollout - Defense Curl A pretty nasty boy. I like his Defense Curl + Rollout Combo. And he can hit hard AND fast. I had never used a Sandslash before, so definetly a good surprise. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc106.gif Norris, level 37 - Strenght - Headbut - Hi Jump Kick - Mind Reader His moveset is pretty bad, but he can still hit some stuff pretty hard. I might give him Dynamic Punch, but he's kinda frail, so I'll have to rethink on that. Any ideas for what I should give him instead of Headbut or Strenght? (probably going to be replaced with Return?) http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc217.gif Weenie, level 37 - Slash - Thunder Punch - Faint Attack - Hidden Power Ghost Average Moveset. Slash as his main means of offense, HP Ghost for SE-ing Psychics. Tpunch gives me much-needed coverage against waters. Faint Attack is going, sooner or later. I want one more physical-based move. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc147.gif Zeus @ Exp Share , level 21 The Extremespeed Dratini. Doesn't really count as a member of my team, since I'll only use it once he evolves into Dragonite (only by then will I consider him 'Physical'). |
i'll try this out. got the word "inch", so i went this this definition:
to move by inches or small degrees that means i'll be going with a team of slow pokemon, and in order to gauge that, they'll all be as slow or slower than caterpie (cuz it's like an inchworm...) will start in a little bit. |
UPDATE TIME!
Word: Physical. Trained everyone until level 44 (except for Zeus, who was level 46 but that doesn't matter anyway, it wasn't used). After that, challenged the E4. Will wasn't too hard. Winnie could take care of the Xatus with Slash, Jaws Bited Slowbro and Ice Punched Exeguttor. It also helped me with Jynx, who is so fast it really REALLY annoyed me. Norris then Strenght'd it for the kill. Koga was ridiculous. Sandwich just EQ'd and Rollout'd stuff and it was done. Bruno wasn't hard either. Winnie's Slashes, Sandwiches' EQs and Norris' Hi Jump Kicks quickly disposed of them. Norris was also MVP against Karen. Pretty much an Hi Jump Kick sweep, except for Gengar, who went down in two Hidden Power Ghosts by Winnie, and Murkrow, who got Tpunched by the same Winnie. Lance was way too easy. Winnie TPunched Gyara, then Jaws Ice punched the three Dragonites. After that, all I had were a weakened Winnie, Norris, and Sandwich. I knew Aerodactyl would be faster than me, so I lured an Hyper Beam of his with Winnie, thus bringing Sandwich safely (recharge turns = lol) and Rollouting him to death. Once Charizard came, he hardly had any time to blink. Quad weakness owned him. While getting the badges, Zeus finally evolved, and I got my 6th member! In the Celadon game corner, I saw Larvitar. 'What the hell?', I thought. I had no idea I could get one of those there. Well, I did. I got a Larvitar, named it Khaos, and swapped the Exp. Share from Zeus to him. Zeus went to the box (no need to train him more, he was 7 levels ahead of all the others), and I kept sweeping gyms. Gary was the toughest, but even still, nothing worth mentioning. Beat the E4 one more time, so that Khaos would evolve into his final form. Red's battle was the only thing remaining. Here's my team for the battle. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc028.gif Sandwich, the level 50 Sandslash @ Amulet Coin ~ Slash ~ Earthquake ~ Rollout ~ Hidden Power [Flying] Lost a bit of its magic, but still useful in general. Physically quite bulky, and capable of consistent damage. Not my biggest asset, but still, pretty decent. Improved drastically with EQ. HP Flying didn't really come to play. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc160.gif Jaws, the level 50 Feraligtr @ Mystic Water ~ Surf ~ Ice Punch ~ Slash ~ Iron Tail Mediocre at best. He really played a very minor role on this playthrough. His Ice Punch was very appreciated against Lance, and part of his special bulkyness was useful as well against Red, as you will see later. However, on the wider perspective, he wasn't that great. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc217.gif Winnie, the level 50 Ursaring @ Bitter Berry ~ Return ~ Thunderpunch ~ Dynamicpunch ~ Hidden Power [Ghost] Quite useful. His Return was VERY powerful, and Hidden Power Ghost was a blessing against those pesky psychics. Specially the Alakazams. Thunderpunch provided some very needed coverage against water types, and also helped dealing with some fliers. All in all, a very reliable member of my team. Though he couldn't take hits all day, he was a very good revenge killer. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc106.gif Norris, the level 50 Hitmonlee @ Quick Claw ~ Strength ~ Mega Kick ~ Hi Jump Kick ~ Endure Never got to use Endure, because I never got Reversal. That moveset, while not providing great coverage, made Hitmonlee a beast. It gave him enough power to pretty much 2HKO everything (sans Red's pokes), if not OHKO. Definetly my main source of fast damage, and a nice special wall sometimes too. While is HP isn't anything spectacular, his Special defense was very appreciated at times. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc149.gif Zeus, the level 56 Dragonite @ MysteryBerry ~ Wing Attack ~ Extremespeed ~ Curse ~ Rest Yes, the Cursespeed set. Curse up for massive attack boosts, then Extremespeed. Went for Wing Attack instead of Surf because of STAB mainly. And I already had a STAB'd Surf on my team. Barely used him, to be honest: only on Gary's and Red's fight. Before that, he was mainly a Dragonair, so... He also added my team some VERY significant resistances to Grass and Water moves. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc248.gif Khaos, the level 55 Tyranitar @ Nevermeltice ~ Ice Beam ~ Thunderbolt ~ Crunch ~ Rock Slide Yes, a special-based Tyranitar. I needed the BoltBeam, and thought originally of giving it to Zeus. However, he already had the Cursespeed set. So I decided to give it to Tyranitar. Belive it or not, adding Tyranitar and Dragonite to my team made it more of a challenge. They were only truly used on Red's fight, so until then, all they did was suck on my team member's Experience. Nevertheless, let's proceed. It's time for Red. Red's fight started of well. Sandwich vs Pikachu. Pikachu would Charm, I EQ'd, he Full Restored, I EQ'd, he Full Resotred, I EQ'd again, he Quick Attacked, and I EQ'd for the kill. One Pikachu and 2 Full Restores down. Next, it was Venusaur. My ONLY way of beating this thing was with Dragonite. Seriously, I was like 30 levels lower than him. So I Wing Attacked until he was dead. So far, so good. The main pain in the butt would come now. Blastoise. In the rain, that thing could Surf OHKO EVERYTHING on my team, except Gater and Dragonite (which he could OHKO with Blizzard). So I brought in Sandwich, thinking he'd be faster, but he wasn't. I brought in Winnie for Tpunch, then he fainted. Brought in Norris for a little bit more damage, but he fainted right away too. THEN brought Jaws, as he could resist the Surfs quite well. THANK YOU JAWS, FOR ACTUALLY BEING USEFUL ASIDE FROM YOUR ICE PUNCHING! By the time Jaws was defeated, Blastoise had around 20% HP. Right in the range for... Zeus to come in and Extremespeed him. Dead Blastoise. Yay! Espeon came, and got so walled by Khaos it wasn't even funny. From them on, I just Crunched Espeon, and Rock Slided Snorlax and Charizard for my victory on this final match. And so, Red was defeated by a team which you could call Physical, and around 30 levels lower too! :) |

My School has been cancelled today because of heavy snowfall, so I might as well continue.
@ Blues: Wow, that was fast, seems like you continued more than just a bit yesterday evening @ Skweetis: You had some bad luck here, it wasn't planned that this results in monotypes. Wait, you just beat Morty and are already that high? That team could probably already beat the Elite 4. @ syphilis: I think you could also use Pokemon that just look slow, but have more than 45 Base Speed, like Muk. Although this is probably a bad example since Grimer is obtained so late.... |

I also grind lots, but at least VB makes that somewhat easier. |
Update Time. I have no Flying Slave, so getting from Goldenrod to Blackthorn took me a while. Especially because I picked up the Exp.Share on the way. After beating Claire's Gym trainers, it was time to challenge herself to get my final Johto badge.
Unlike most of the other gym battles, this one was actually interesting. I was planning to just sweep her Dragonairs with my Alakazam, but it could barely not OHKO them because it was so underleveled. So, first Alakazam got paralyzed, but it still did a decent job, it KOd the first Dragonair and put the second one into KO range for Tauros. Tauros also defeated the lastDragonair, but it got paralyzed, so all it could do was Leering Kingdra once and then it died to Kingdra's Surf spam. Machamp came next, and killed Kingdra with 2 Karate Chops. On the way to Victory Road, I first let Alakazam catch up to the rest of my team, so it would not disappoint me against the Elite 4 again. My rival was pretty easy, only the Feraligatr could live a hit, but Tauros still overpowered it. So, here is the team that's going to challenge the Elite 4: http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d0/Spr_2s_065.png Somnus / Alakazam f Lv.39 @ Nevermeltice - Psychic - Ice Punch - Thunder Punch - Fire Punch Still a slight bit underleveled, but that is not going to matter, or at least I hope so. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/8/89/Spr_2s_068.png Muscle / Machamp f Lv.41 @ / - Karate Chop - Leer - Earthquake - Headbutt This levels up insanely fast, since it's traded. I decided to give Earthquake to this and not Tauros or Sudowoodo because it needed a good move pretty badly while the other 2 do already have more or less decent movesets. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/dc/Spr_2s_185.png Simularbre / Sudowoodo m Lv.41 @ / - Rock Slide - Dig - Flail - Low Kick Probably the weakest thing in my team. It has nice physical bulk and RS its is devastaing, but it's so slow that it can't really make use of that because things always also seem to have special attacks... http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/1/15/Spr_2s_128.png Rampage / Tauros f Lv.42 @ / - Strength - Tail Whip - Iron Tail - Hidden Power Bug Slower and weaker than Alakazam, weaker than Machamp and less bulky than Sudo... But still the best member of my team, its balanced stats make it useful in almost every situation. |

My new word is 'Offensive' so I'll be using Pokemon who specialize in offensive stats. |
that's just too many too choose off, I'll take another word if you don't mind. I tried again and got Weight. So I guess I'll take the 5 pokemon with the highest weight. I prefer not to have more pokemon. (can't trade so no Steelix)
Will start tomorrow. Team: Snorlax Golem Gyarados Mantine Onix |

I'd like to try this challenge, but who assigns the word?
|
The word I wound up with was "Mind", so I guess I'll be using Psychic types.
|
lol, I said I couldn't get Steelix because I can't trade, but I did list Golem XD
That means it'll be only Graveler I did the beginning stuff, chose Chikorita and caught a Geodude. Grinding him up until it learns Rock Throw. then I beat Falkner, but it was harder than expected, since his Pidgeotto oustpeeded and used Mud slap. I nearly died but then i hit. So lets see if I can beat the Sprout tower. So yeah, I entered and PWnt all the Bellsprouts easily, because they were heavily underleveled. Now traveling to the union cave to catch an Onix. I got beaten by the Poliwag trainer. They ouspeeded and used Bubble. After the second I fainted. I caught an onix and grinded it up till it learned Rock throw. Went trough the union cave without any problems. Screech really helps Onix beating pokemon! Slowpoke well was easy too. I thought Bugsy would be really easy, but yet again I made a mistake. Onix was paralysed from an earlyer pokemon, but I decided to challenge him anyway. I beat Metapod and Kakuna easily, but I was fully paralysed 3 times against Scyther, making his Fury cutter strong and he Koed. Then he outspeeded and Koed Geodude in 1 hit. The second time was easy, because i wasn't paralysed and I could 1HKO Scyther. Then AGAIN i was thinking my rival would be easy, because I could kill Gastly and Quilava with Magnitude and Zubat with rock throw. I was right on gastly... Then Quilava outspeeded and Burnt me, while I 3HKOed with Magnitude due to getting low numbers. Quilava dies and me dies by Zubat's Bite. Luckily I still had onix left and KOed. I should seriously pay more attention on easy fights D: |
Update:
Word: Offensive I decided to use Pokemon who in their final stage had a base Attack and/or Special Attack higher than 100 while either being their best stat(s). - Caught Gastly - Defeated Falkner - Caught Heracross - Defeated Team Rocket - Defeated Bugsy - Evolved Gastly -> Haunter - Evolved Haunter -> Gengar - Caught Abra - Evolved Abra -> Kadabra - Evolved Kadabra -> Alakazam - Caught Growlithe - Defeated Whitney - Evolved Growlithe -> Arcanine - Defeated Chuck http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu100/CBACS/Spr_2c_094.gif Gengar Lv. 51 - Psychic - Shadow Ball - Hypnosis - Dream Eater http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu100/CBACS/Spr_2c_214.gif Heracross Lv. 54 - Strength - Megahorn - Earthquake - Reversal http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu100/CBACS/Spr_2c_065.gif Alakazam Lv. 50 - Psychic - Recover - Fire Punch - Reflect http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu100/CBACS/Spr_2c_059.gif Arcanine Lv. 50 - Extremespeed - Iron Tail - Flamethrower - Crunch |

Probably I should edit the formulation of the first rule a bit to make things clearer. |
I figure that I may as well try, that is, if I can even find a emulator to play on.
But I got the word Beach, so I'll be using Water types only. |
Entrancer, maybe you could take a pokemon like Sandslash too? And I see Kingler/Starmie really fitting!
As for my update: I went to Goldenrod without much problems and teached Headbutt to Onix. In Goldenrod, I bought TM Fire Punch and teached it to Geodude. Beat Whitney really easily, I got 2 lucky Magnitude 9. Traveled to ecruteak city. Geodude evolved. This time my rival SHOULD be easy, since he only has magnemite added to it which has a 4x weakness. but we'll see. I also expect Morty to be not really hard, but I'll be paying attention this time! But first, the Kimono girls. the only one which could have been a problem was Vaporeon, which was killed by a lucky Magnitude 9 again. :D This time the rival wasn't any challenge at all! It managed to damage me for 6 HP. Onix soloed him. ASfter entering the gym, I nearly died before even reaching the gym leader! graveler survived with only 11 HP left. CURSES lol. and paralyses keeps me immobilised for some turns again. Time to get up for Morty! It was a joke! Seriously! Onix used Dig to beat gastly and the 2 haunters. Gengar put me too sleep and I switched out to avoid Dream Eater. gengar then missed Hypnosis and I 1HKOd with Magnitude. Now to find a Surf slave so i can get myself the red Gyarados. I guess I'l jsut go get the Good rod and catch one. I arrived at Olivine city and caught myself a Krabby. Now going to catch the red Gyarados. I arrived at the lake of rage and challenged Gyarados. 3 Headbutt's brought him into the red and 1 Poke ball was enough to catch XD I'm stopping for today now lol. team: Onix lvl 30 Rock throw headbutt Screech Dig Graveler lvl 30 Rock throw Magnitude Fire Punch Headbutt Red gyardos lvl 30, standard moves. |
Okay, I got the word "window" so I'll be using a team of Pokemon that know moves like reflect and lightscreen...
Guess I'll be using Chikorita in my team. |

I want to participate in this challenge!
Do we have to get assigned a word, or can we choose. I'll be playing this on Pokemon Yellow, and with an Emulator, since I don't have a gameboy, nor the game. I might do Crystal as well, if you want to give me another word for that. Edit: Forgot that GSC stands for Gold/Silver/Crystal. Thought it was for any game from the Game boy era. xD Sign me up for Crystal then! |
I got the word exclusive so after thinking for a bit I think I will do this challenge using only Johto pokemon on crystal :)
|
@ Hayley Williams: You could also get yourself a random word, but I can do that as well. Determined by tossing a coin that the word will be an adjective. The generator created the word "sloppy". (stuff like Rattata or Grimer?)
@ yuki3056: I was more thinking about version exclusives when reading that word, since I think there are no real Johto exclusives, they all are somehow availiable in other games. Or do you mean that in a different way? |
Sloppy seems to be a hard one.
Would that include sloppy pokemon or pokemon who don't perform very well? Maybe I could get a different word? |
Proprietary will probably not work as well, same for recognized. Damn, I keep getting weird words. Rarer should work though.
|
Oh I meant like only Johto pokemon like the ones introduced with the series Typhlosion, Donphan, Corsola etc. but if that is no good I will try a different word ^_^
|
Recognized could work. I would say just the more popular Pokemon people would be able to recognize easilyl mostly from the anime, such as Pikachu, Togepi, Geodude, Psyduck, Meowth etc.
Mind if I go with that? Quote:
|
@ yuki3056: The problem is that I don't really see how exclusive means Johto-introduced Pokemon. Out of your examples, Typhlosion should be useable though since it's Player-exclusive in these games.
@ Hayley Williams: Recognized=Popular? Of course that would work, I just didn't see that. |
Okay, so I'm playing along with the theme: Recognized
Can I evolve Pokemon for this (like, if I caught a pikachu, can I evolve it into Raichu, seeing as Raichu isn't that recognizable) |
@ Hayley: While Raichu is of course not as well-known as Pikachu, I think (which of course doesn't mean anything, I might be horribly wrong) it's still by far more known than for example Golduck is.
So I'd say it depends on each Pokemon, for example you could evolve Pikachu, but not Psyduck. @ Yuki: Maybe this could help you with your team building. |
Donphan is a version exclusive as it is not in gold version correct? or were you implying it has to be a one version pokemon?
|
Quote:
- Johto Starter (Bayleef) - Raichu - Jigglypuff - Togepi - Psyduck - Beedrill/Geodude would be acceptable. In other words, if the Main Protagonists/Antagonists (I'm doing it via anime) have the pokemon, then I can use it correct? |
@ Yuki: No, I just overlooked it on your examples, my bad.
@ Hayley: Yes, that would be OK |
okey dokey started my game picked the female character cause I never use her lol and I am not doing naymore gonna look into the exclusive pokemon more before deciding on the team :D

Update:
After catching the red Gyarados, I calculated it's Hidden power, turns out it is Grass, 70 base power. I teached it to him and it prove suefull on my way to Cianwood. I caught a Mantine, but Graveler died in the process. Then later on a trainer, Mantine and Onix died, and Gyaradosses Strenght PP was empty, so i decided to teach him Hidden power to have a good weapon so far. Entered the gym so I could get HM Fly and go grind up Mantine after. I beat the gym easily using only Gyarados. Got HM Fly, but I have no pokemon that can learn it. Why do I have 2 flying types when none of them can learn Fly >=( Will continue later. Finally challenged and beat the Elite 4 now.
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/de/WillGSCsprite.pngNo problem at all. He didn't use Psychic against Alakazam and all other moves his Pokemon have are ridiculously weak (yes, even against Alakazam nothing did much) while Alakazam could kill all of his Pokemon by having super-effective moves against their secondary types. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/6/67/Koga_02.pngAlakazam and Machamp (only for Muk) beat him without any problems at all. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/f/fd/BrunoGSCsprite.gifHis Onix somehow got a Sandstorm up, because of that Alakazam had like 5 HP left after this battle. But since it's a glass cannon anyways, this did not really matter. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/4/47/GSC_Karen.gifThe only thing that hurt me was Murkrow, because it survived a Strength from Tauros. Houndoom used Roar instead of hurting me, I never knew before it has that move. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/0/0f/LanceGSCsprite.pngThe only hard one. Took me 4 attempts because of myself being either stupid or unlucky on the first 3 ones. His Gyarados and first 2 Dragonites always got OHKOd. Aerodactyl not. Sudo was my best bet against it, but it often died (I hate flinches), giving Charizard the chance to sweep my remaining team. If Alakazam died, the last Dragonite was a problem as well. When I finally won, I had only Machamp with red HP left. Team changes: http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d0/Spr_2s_065.png Lv.39->Lv.44 Gained 5 levels in 5 battles. Need to say more? http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/8/89/Spr_2s_068.png Lv.41 -> Lv. 44 Leer -> Cross Chop It actually played a bigger role than the text above says. Mainly against Karen. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/dc/Spr_2s_185.png Nothing changed. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/1/15/Spr_2s_128.png Nothing changed. |
Small update:
Challenged the Cianwood gym and beat it With Gyarados using Surf and Hidden power. Surfed back and went into the lightbhouse to give Amphy her medicine. Then I went into the route above Olivine (16 I think, might be wrong) to grind up mantine and I found an Entei! I decided to weaken it since I had no pokeballs left after Mantine. It's Surf did a decent part. Funny thing is that I never ever found Entei in another route before! I beat team rocket in Mahogany and beat Pryce EASILY using Mantine's Swagger and Headbutt, Surf for Piloswine. Then teached him Icy wind. Team: Mantine lvl 35 Surf Swagger Heabutt Icy wind I love confusion and flinching! The rest of the team stayed the same, except for a few level-ups |

Update:
I pwned the rest of the rockets underground, now going back into the radio tower to beat the last ones. Onix is still weak, too low attack stat. gyarados Special attack sucks too, it is time he gets a Physical attack other than Strenght. Graveler is still my main Physical attacker. As for mantine, I love him! <3 I went up to the highest floor and started the battle with the woman there. I sent out Onix and she sent out Arbok. I got paralysed by Glare and I kept getting fully paralysed or flinched by Bite so Onix died ._. Graveler then finished Arbok off, but died to Vileplume due to getting low Magnitudes. Finished Vileplume off by Mantine, but then died to Murkrows Night shade XD Gyarados then brought that one down. Then giovanni was easy by just Using Gyarados and Surf! Went on to beat Suicune, Mantine used Swagger and heabutt to beat it. After 2 Icy winds I could outspeed and flinch him. Went trough Ice cave and chalengging the Dragon gym. It wasn't too hard. The Surfing Dragonair was beaten by mantine's Icy wind. The Thunderbolting Dragonair was nearly beaten by Graveler, but he got some parahax against him. Onix finished it off. The Ice beaming Dragonair was beaten by Mantine. Kingdra was Confused by mantine, but Hyper beam hit and KOed. gyarados attracted him and Kingdra missed her only chance to attack. NOw gonna train a bit on the road below blackthorn. Beat all trainers there. Went on to the league without any problems. The league challenge!!! Will: Mainly walling/Confusion,Flinch by Mantine. Koga: Rollout sweep from graveler. Bruno: Gyarados beat Hitmontop, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Onix, while Mantine used Swagger to beat Machamp. Karen: Umbreon was beaten by Graveler's Dynamicpunch. The rest by Mantine. Lance: Gyarados went down by my Mantine, Swagger proves usefull yet again! Dragonite was used to set-up Rollout with Graveler, which took down 2 Dragonites, Aerodactyl and Charizard after a missed attempt. The strongest Dragonite went down by a lot of Revives and waiting for some lucky hurt itself in confusion hits. Spring I guess that means mainly grass types? I don't know. Someone help me out with this. |
Not only grass types, pretty much all Pokemon that you could imagine to not be present in winter, but come back in spring. Like Bugs or Birds. Or maybe even stuff that is likely to do winter sleep like Ursaring.

Those were just the most obvious examples, there are a lot more of them
|
Well, I already got the pokemon so......
|
the regular updating is getting a little bit boring, so I'll only do gyms from now on.
Lt surge's gym is beaten easily with Graveler and Onix. Sabrina's gym was a little problematic, but a critical hit Strenght from Gyarados beat Alakazam. Erika's gym was kinda hard, Mantine died after beating Tangela, Gyarados nearly died at the rest, but won. Graveler and Onix wouldn't stand a chance! Janine was easy, too underleveled. Caught Snorlax inbetween! No problems at Misty, Zap Cannon did a lot! The last pokemon Starmie had to get killed by Snorlax, since I ran out of PP. Brock was totally easy with Surf! Blaine was the easyest ever, since all pokemon except Snorlax were super effective to his pokemon! The battle with Blue was pretty epic! I started Rollout with Graveler and beat Pidgeot, but got stopped by Exxecutor. That one got beaten by Swagger/Wing attack mantine. Then Alakazam came out and I Swaggered, but died. I switched to Gyarados and started healing every pokemon. once done Gyardos dies. Alakazam got beaten by Snorlax Shadow ball. Then he dies by Rhydons Earthquake. Mantine beats Rhydon and Swaggers the incoming Gyarados, but he uses Hyper beam. I hang on on my Focus band and heal. Then I die by Hyper beam. I send out Onix to heal again. It died by Hydro pump, while my slave died to Hyper beam. I send out mantine for a Swagger again. I used 1 revive, but he hit another Hyper beam. I sent out Gyarados too, but he is out of Hyper beams and he can barely touch me now. I use the time to heal everything up and then kill with Zap cannon. Then i beat Arcanine with Surf. *the end* XD Now onto red, which I expect to get hard! My worst nightmare would probably be my quad weaknesses. The water/Flying to Thunder and Ground/Rock to Grass and Water. Team: Mantine lvl 50 Surf Wing attack Swagger Headbutt Graveler lvl 49 Rollout Strenght Eplosion Earthquake Onix lvl 50 Earthquake Iron tail Screech Strenght Gyarados lvl 50 Surf Zap Cannon Attract Strenght Snorlax lvl 50 Sleep talk rest Body slam Shadow ball I'll be stopping for today, expect my last update tomorrow! |

Here's the battle you all waited for!
11wildy VS red VS Pikachu Earthquake is the answer to all. VS Espeon Hyper potion to stall out his Psychic PP, then Shadow ball him to death. VS Snorlax Stalled his Body slam PP out, then switched to start a Rollout sweep with Graveler and killed Snorlax with it. VS Venusaur Mantine Swaggers first, Venusaur uses Sunny day. Then I use Wing attack, but he KOs with Solarbeam. Sent out Gyarados and revived Mantine. Venusaur hurt itself in Confusion, so I can now fully heal Mantine with a Hyper potion. Then he hurts itself again adn I use Strenght. Then he uses Synthesis. :( Sunlight faded. He used Sunny day, while I missed Zap cannon. Then he nearly KOed with Solarbeam, but I manage to pull of a Zap cannon. Then it's a while where I keep healing and using Strenght, until I get a crit and KO! VS Blastoise Blastoise hit 1 Blizzard while I spent the rest of my PP off Zap cannon, but only hit the last one. I use an elixer. Then he gets a lucky critical hit Blizzard. I use Mantine to heal gyarados. Blastoise got out of Blizzard PP the same time. I use Swagger, parafusion + Flinch hax killed him. VS Charizard I thought he'd be easy, but the first Rollout wasn't enough to KO, and his Flamethrower 2HKOed. So I just used Mantine's Surf, while his Wing attack doesn't KO Mantine. Surf was KO after Rollout damage. My team: Onix wasn't good at all, though his high defense and decent speed helped sometimes. In the beginning he got a lot of help from Screech. His attack was just too low. Graveler was my main physical attacker and he was good at it, though his low speed let me down sometimes. Gyarados wasn't good. His Special attack was just low and he got only Strenght as physical attack. Though he had enough bulk to heal some pokemon in my battle with red. Mantine was just awesome and the best pokemon in my team! He had high HP and Special defense and could hit hard with Special attacks. Swagger/headbutt combo was deadly troughout the game! Snorlax only beat 3 pokemon lol. Though I liked him. I had a Sleep talk set with Body slam and Shadow ball, which worked for me. I feared Espeon a lot, but he beat him! I am the winner of the weight challenge! _______________________________________________________________________ my next challenge gives me the word (after a lot of useless words): Exploding! BOOM! I guess I'll have to use Graveler again XD Team: Weezing Graveler Electrode Forretres That's all pokemon that learns Explosion. they won't all be learning Explosion though. Will start later. |
I've decided to give this challenge a go. The word I got was "fourteen", so I've decided to only use pokemon who's number is a multiple of fourteen:
E.g. 014 Kakuka 028 Sandslash 042 Golbat Very much doubt I'll be using Kakuna though. I'm starting on Crystal with Chikorita, which will evolve into Meganium (Number 154, which is 14 x 11). |
General network error (0x80004005).
That's the error I get on the website, I've tried two different browsers. If anyone would like to actually generate one for me, feel free to. I don't want to cheat and find a word to get all the pokemon I want. |
I'd preffer mine to be completely random also, otherwise I tend to refresh and find one that I like more. I'm not too sure if I'm meant to be using a regular random generator on any site, or one on this site, too. xD Haven't found one on here yet, so if you pick one for the poster before me, one for me too would be excellent. : D
*awesome to the person finding the shiny Diglett!* |
I'll pick your's. Brb and I'll edit this post with them.
@LoneStarAkira: You get Stickiest @Kbengal: You get Wind Yes, those were completely random words, I promise. |
alright thanks, appreciate it...wind wind wind..
I'll probably be using pidgey because it can create wind with its wings. Maybe a really fast pokemon because it can make wind when it runs..err...yea ill think of some more. Alright, I found pokemon that can learn whirlwind via level-up and breeding. Butterfree, Pidgeot, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Zubat, Aerodactyl, Hoothoot, Yanma, Murkrow, Skarmory, and via event, swinub. I'll be looking at pokemon with very high base speeds aswell. Base speeds higher than 100 on Gen. 2 or lower: Aerodactyl, Alakazam, Crobat, Dugtrio, Electabuzz, Electrode, Espeon, Gengar, Jolteon, Jumpluff, Lugia, Persian, Raikou, Rapidash, Scyther, Sneasel, Starmie, Tauros. Quite a bit, I'll be thinking about my team and mix the 2 together. Ok I've decided to eliminate the following: Aerodactyl - have to trade via chansey, chansey is rare in gold. Lugia and Ho-Oh are too far in the game for me, aswell as raikou. Ones left: Pidgeot, HootHoot, Alakazam, Crobat, Dugtrio, Electabuzz, Electrode, Espeon, Gengar, Jolteon, Jumpluff, Persian, Rapidash, Scyther, Sneasel, Starmie, Tauros, Yanma, Murkrow, Sneasel, Skarmory, Swinub, Butterfree. I'll look for version exclusives now and rule them out, aswell as other locations of pokemon. This is going to be a while to figure out what team I'm using. I want about 4-5 pokemon with 1-2 HM slaves, so I don't have to grind as much. Another edit, I'm ruling out alakazam and gengar unless someone can help me by telling me how to trade over to a game and trade back. So far my thoughts: Noctowl, Crobat, Espeon, and err..Jumpluff? I don't know. I need some help. Thanks lol. |
Word: Stickiest
I had a hard time thinking of these ones, so I hope that they're okay. Other poster got an easy one, but I guess it makes it more interesting if it's tricky. ;P I was originally going to try for a team that could learn moves that were sticky, like Lick, Spider Web, Sludge, etc. but I figured that it'd be difficult to show that it's a sticky theme. Then I figured I'd go exactly by my theme word, and find the "stickiest" Pokemon of the Kanto and Johto regions, and this is what I came up with: Ariados - learns moves like Constrict, String Shot and its signature move Spider Web. Victreebel - pitcher plants trap prey, and Victreebel also learns constricting moves. Shuckle - learns constricting moves and in Pokedex entries, he creates a gooey liquid when making berries. Octillery - has suction cups, spits ink, and has a rather sticky moveset in the Gen 4 games. Lickitung - its Pokedex entries state that its tongue is sticky, learns constricting moves. Muk - he's sludge. 'Nuff said. I can't post pics just yet, but I'm going to start this straight away. Hopefully these guys are okay to use. And hey! Most of them can learn the "sticky" moves I thought of, anyway. ^^ Edit: I own a copy of Pokemon Crystal, but I'm in the middle of doing stuff on there, so I'll stick with emulator on this. |
Onix/Steelix can learn bind/constrict, in a way you could consider that sticky, lol.
Narrowing things down: Electabuzz, in kanto, ponyta, too far in, staryu its rare (i guess), dugtrio - kanto, skarmory - a bit rare, im not really liking this word. too hard to narrow things down. I found another random word site and got hateful...i'll have to decide. I also got meek: Mild of temper; not easily provoked or orritated; patient under injuries; not vain, or haughty, or resentful;forbearing; submissive. help me decide lol Actually: I'll stick with wind so it's fair. My team will be Noctowl, Pidgeot, Jolteon, Crobat and Haunter, I'll find a way to make it Gengar. Using an emulator, Pokemon Gold. Wish me luck, I'll update when I beat falkner. Alright some updates: Chose starter: Totodile, named it HM Slave, as it is the best out of the 3 for an HM Slave I believe. Got my PokeDex and owned my rival, named him Shemale, because honestly he looks like a girl. Before that, I got my Hoothoot, at level 4. I grinded it to Lvl. 11, where it learns peck. I went through and beat the first trainers to the cave and found a Zubat. I caught it, at lvl 3. Went through Sprout Tower, found a Gastly Lvl 5. Got zubat to lvl 6 throughout the tower, mostly by baiting. Beat the gym, Falkner was too easy. Hoothoot Lvl. 15 Tackle Growl Foresight Peck Zubat Lvl. 7 Leech Life Supersonic Gastly Lvl. 5 Hypnosis Lick Totodile (HM Slave) Lvl. 6 Scratch Growl Can't believe I already have 3/5 of my team already. One I'll have to grab in the morning and the other will come later. One more update for tonight: Got through the cave thingy, beat Team Rocket at the slowpoke cave. Accidently fought my rival before the gym, which I didn't mean to, but I beat him anyway, quite easily I might add. Bugsy was a disapointment, well, not really. Hoothoot just destroyed all of the trainers/him or her. I found out Gastly levels up very easily. Hoothoot Lvl. 18 Hypnosis (Deleted wrong move, lol.) Growl Foresight Peck Zubat Lvl. 12 Leech Life Supersonic Bite (Finally, a decent move!) Gastly Lvl. 16 Hypnosis Lick Curse Mean Look HM Slave (No HMs yet) Egg Don't feel like finding the fancy pictures like the rest of you, if you tell me where I can find them, that'd be great. Challenge has turned out to be fun so far, if anyone can give me tips on trading with a vbalink or something, help me out. Ok one more update tonight. I'm having a lot of problem's with Whitney's Miltank. More to say rollout. I'll be getting Gastly to a Haunter and Zubat -> Golbat before trying again. Hopefully Hypnosis hits next time -.- ONE MORE UPDATE TONIGHT - I JUST HAD TO BEAT HER!!!!! - Alright, I didnt get either pokemon to evolve but they're both close. My strategy: take out Clefairy with Noctowl. Then, with Gastly, hypnosis (WORKED!) and then curse. Use a super potion and switch to zubat and use confuse ray. Zubat got koed by rollout on first hit. Second hit miltank got gastly to 5 hp, then she was 1/4 hp, then I put her to sleep with hypnosis. Miltank died to curse. Only way I could have beat her -.-. Noctowl Lvl. 21 Hypnosis Growl Foresight Peck Gastly Lvl. 22 Hypnosis Lick Curse Night Shade Gastly needs better moves. Zubat Lvl. 21 Leech Life Supersonic Bite Confuse Ray Togepi Lvl. 5 Growl Charm HM Slave Lvl. 6 Cut I'm evolving Togepi into a Togetic, it's going to replace pidgeot. Togetic is flying, so it can technically create wind, and uses wind to fly. That's how I see it :D |
16th February, 2010
The time is 8:35pm I'm standing outside Dark Cave right now. It's dark out, and the mosquitos are a pain in the butt. Violet City is just a few minutes away, but I need to spend some more time training this little guy. He's a Spinarak who I've named Lumeran. I caught him just a few minutes ago, but he's already growing on me. The Cyndaquil I recieved from Prof. Elm really didn't catch my attention, and though I feel bad for doing so, I'm going to store him in my PC until I can find a person who wants him. This Spinarak, I know will struggle against Falkner, but I'm going to give it a shot anyway. Challenges are always fun. - Current Team - http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc167.gif LUMERAN ♂ Lv. 7 - Poison Sting - String Shot - Scary Face Don't mind much about the journal-styled thing. I just wanted to play around a bit. xD |
Argh, why does stuff always happen when I'm NOT present? Seems like I live in the wrong time zone.
So: Thanks for helping out Gold, welcome to ... actually everyone in this thread since I have been to lazy for welcome greetings up to now. Same goes for winning congratulations. |

An update from my progress lastnight. Since my last update, I caught a Bellsprout and named her Orchana.
* ~ Falkner ~ * Battle Participants: Lumeran/Spinarak Lv. 16, Orchana/Bellsprout Lv. 11 - Pidgey fainted after two Poison Stings, piece of cake. - Pidgeotto was a bit harder, but luckily, Lumeran's Poison Sting poisoned on the very first turn. He withstood two Gusts before poison KO'd Pidgeotto. - Orchana didn't even get a chance to fight. Lumeran stole the battle. Brave little Spinarak. owo * ~ Bugsy ~ * Battle Participants: Lumeran/Spinarak Lv. 19, Orchana/Bellsprout Lv. 18 - Metapod got Night Shade'd. - ...so did Kakuna. - ...and Scyther. - Wow. Again, Orchana didn't get a single minute in battle. Who knew a Spinarak could kick so much ass? xD * ~ Ryoji ~ * Oh yay. My rival... =__= Battle Participants: Lumeran/Spinarak Lv. 20, Orchana/Bellsprout Lv. 18 - Gastly got Night Shade'd. This is getting repetitive... - Zubat got Night Shade'd too. I'm surprised how useful that move actually is. :3 - Orchana finally gets a chance to fight, and destroys Croconaw with a couple of Vine Whips. Easy~ Cyndaquil finally gets a use (temporarily) on my team as the Cut slave. But of course, he'll be replaced by a better and more useful HM Slave later on. ;D http://i47.*.com/wrg9qw.png Huzzah!! Lumeran evolves! :v And... http://i49.*.com/20p5zn.png *insert Final Fantasy victory theme here* - Current Team - http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc168.gif LUMERAN ♂ Lv.22 - Poison Sting - String Shot - Night Shade - Constrict http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gbc070.gif ORCHANA ♀ Lv. 21 - Vine Whip - Growth - Wrap - Sleep Powder I'm actually enjoying keeping a log of all of this. xD Most fun I've had on these games in a long time! |
Another update...
I moved from Goldenrod up to Ecruteak City. I cleared the route to the left and went to Olivine City. I defeated all of the trainers in the lighthouse then traveled back to Ecruteak. I had already gotten surf. I beat the Gym with ease. My only problem was his Gengar, but it wasn't very hard because it put my Haunter to sleep, then I switched in Golbat and it tried using dream eater, but it failed. I then confused it and bit it to death :P. After that I surfed across, didn't really fight many trainers (like 3?). I've beaten the gym trainers but I need to get strength first. Team: Togepi Lvl. 22 Growl Charm Metronome Sweet Kiss Noctowl Lvl. 26 Hypnosis Growl Reflect Peck Golbat Lvl. 26 Leech Life Supersonic Bite Confuse Ray Haunter Lvl. 26 Hypnosis Lick Curse Night Shade Eevee Lvl. 20 Tackle Tail-Whip Sand-Attack Growl HM Slave (Totodile) Lvl. 6 Cut Surf I haven't used any TMs yet, all the moves on every one of my pokemon are pretty bad so far except Night Shade and hypnosis.. Edit: Beat Chuck, was pretty easy with Haunter, I need to make it a Gengar somehow. Jasmine was tough, I had no super-effective moves and the only good move was Night shade that would work. I lost the first time. I luckily won the second time. First 2 magnemites were easy, hypnosis and 3 night shades each. Steelix tough as usual. I used hypnosis without fail (so lucky) and used curse. Curse is probably the most effective move my team has. It woke up 2 turns later and killed me. I put in eevee and tried to get as many sand-attacks off that I could, and I got 2. Then it died so I put in Golbat, and the last curse effect killed Steelix, my team needs some more grinding now. Haunter Lvl. 29 Same move set as before. Golbat Lvl. 28 Same as before Noctowl Lvl. 28 Same except fly instead of growl Togepi Lvl. 23 same as before Eevee Lvl. 20 Same as before HM Slave same as before And in my PC is Shuckle, that has strength. Another Update: Caught Red Gyarados. Defeated Team Rocket and caught an Electrode (most likely in-use) Defeated Mahogany Gym. Levels/pokemon are the same just 1-2 levels higher. |
Seeing as I've never tried a team challenge before, this one sounds like a good one to start with. I was actually quite lucky with the word that I generated:
Rival /ˈraɪvəl/ : a person who is competing for the same object or goal as another, or who tries to equal or outdo another; competitor. I've decided that I'm only going to use Pokemon that were owned by the rival of the original games, Blue (owned in either R/B/Y or G/S/C). |

I'll update on this post later. Could of probably been to 8th gym by now but i dont feel like it lol Well, I got through Ice Cave and did the Radio Tower mission. I don't know why the old man won't get out of my way, any tips? Do I need to catch Ho-Oh? I don't want to catch it if I don't have to. |
Think carefully before you act.
Think carefully before you act.
|
@ Brendino: Welcome to this challenge. Yes, rival is a pretty lucky word, even though it doesn't leave you that much options.
@ Kbengal: Which old man? The one in front of Dragon's Den (the only one I ca think of now)? You have to beat Clair first. @ jklm514: That is of course a good wordly wisdom, but... why here? |
I finally got some time to play, I'm really busy lately, so don't expect daily updates.
Caught my Geodude, I'll beat Falkner and then I'll grind up for the Sprout tower, I expect a few complications there. Falkner should be easy if I don't get Mud-slap haxxed too much. beat Falkner, he didn't get any chance to attack. Sprout tower was udnerleveled and thus easy. team: Geodude lvl 16 Magnitude Rock throw Tackle Defense Curl |

But you said that you already finished Radio Tower, so he should be gone
|
could someone generate me a word? I dont see a link on the original post
|
Weird, I can still see the link...
Your word will be dire, pretty cool one. Welcome to this challenge. |
1.causing or involving great fear or suffering; dreadful; terrible: a dire calamity.
2.indicating trouble, disaster, misfortune, or the like: dire predictions about the stock market. these 2 meanings could have things to do with pokemon but I cant think of any for either one |
I'd say you could use Pokemon that people would be afraid of if they would really exist. Pokemon like Ariados, Golbat and Gyarados (Gyara even fits the other parts of the definition). And there are more.
|
alright well I guess totodile sticks with the scary pokemon theme so I can use that I guess the rest I'll get as i see em I really dont wanna go the tyranitar and ursaring route but ill probablly end up using one
|
Beat the 8th gym...and went to pokemon league...I accidently opened up something else and forgot to save. Pretty damn pissed right now. I'll get back to it tonight -.-
|
I think I'm changing my word. Using dark/ghost/nocturnal pokes is boring because you have a lot of simiarities in weaknesses and strengths. I'll post my new word later.
Edit: New word: Gust. I'm going to use pokes that can either learn Gust or flying pokes. First two words: on "Average": I got Mitochondria. who goes with that? redo! on "Common": I got Medical. Could only think of Chansey, so no... |
really small update. I went from Violet city to Azalea. I was level 20 even before entering Azalea, so I guess I won't have any problems there. I also did the team rocket stuff already.
Team Geodude lvl 21 Rock throw Magnitude Tackle Selfdestruct |
i got the word "ocean", only water pokemon for me then:
planned team Feraligatr Gyarados Slowbro Dewgong Lanturn Lapras |
I got the word "ditch" so i'm thinking i'll use ground types since they can make big ditches and i'm doing the monotype challenge for ground anyways what a coincidence XD o ya and they're my favorite type!
|
I don't know if I should continue doing mine or start over with a new word...because this party is really boring, flying and ghost types aren't my style.
|
This looks pretty fun!
I did adjective and got acknowledged. I think I'm only going to use pokemon that are used by an elite four member or gym leader of one of the first two generations. Planned team: Pidgeot Alakazam Machamp Gengar Golem Starmie |
lol, why is this at the second page? XD
I found some time to beat the second gym. It was easy, but now I can't find a Pineco. Any ideas on why? Can I hack one into my game? Team: Graveler lvl 25 Rock Throw Magnitude Headbutt Selfdestruct |
May i have a word, please
