My happy NB team

I finally have a team I'm pretty happy with.. nice success rate as well. Figure I would post it for fun.

Vaporeon (calm) @leftovers
EVs: 252 Defence 252 Special Attack (works great so far)
~Ice Beam
~Surf
~Toxic
~Wish

Salamence (Adamant) @ Lum Berry
EVs: 252 Speed 252 Attack
~Aerial Ace
~Dragon Dance
~Earthquake
~Rock Slide

Weezing (Impish) @leftovers
EVs: 252 HP 252 Defence
~Sludge Bomb
~Haze
~Will-o-Wisp
~Pain Split

Breloom (jolly) @ Lum Berry
EVs: 252 Speed 252 Attack
~Focus Punch
~Mach Punch
~HP Ghost
~Spore

Blissey (calm) @ leftovers
EVs: 252 HP 252 Defence
~Seismic Toss
~Counter
~Aromatherapy
~Softboiled

Milotic (calm) @ leftovers
EVs: 252 Special Attack 252 Defence
~Surf
~Ice Beam
~Recover
~Mirror Move

Not really asking for a rate just posting a team I think is pretty good. Use it as you will.

Geez...

*cough*bragging*cough*? :P

Xilion_Sword90 October 24th, 2004 4:36 AM

Vaporeon: Why not giving it Acid Armor?

Salamence: Screw Aerial Ace. Put Fire Blast instead.

Weezing: Thunderbolt, Flamethrower and Shadow Ball are other offensive moves.

Breloom: Breloom has like 264 Speed? Oh well... Guess its ok...

Blissey: Why do people even ask a rate if they all use the Standard set?

Milotic: Toxic is useful once in a while...

Demonion October 24th, 2004 5:14 AM

my team sweeps yours :S :p

Toothache October 24th, 2004 6:17 AM

Don't just say that - prove it, Demonion. And all of these are standard movesets anyway (I assume that's Mirror Coat on Milotic and not Mirror Move, being an illegal moveset).

Demonion October 24th, 2004 7:19 AM

He can just send me a message when he want to battle :) its 17:18 here now i dont know where he comes from so :)

Frostweaver October 24th, 2004 11:23 AM

Almost flawless mega-OU standard team. What else can I say? Salamence may want to take HP Flying for a nice power boost.

This team is a stall festival that relies on wasting all of the opponent's strength slowly and surely, and finally finishing things off with Salamence at the end... whoever fight you will be wasting a lot of time (as any battle against this team will take at least twice the amount of time as any other battles...)

I really can't think of any strategy that can beat this team, so it's all down to skill now... it'll be a test of who makes the first wrong switch.

Prylace October 24th, 2004 4:25 PM

Frosty hit it right on the mark. This team is a huge staller, and win or lose will depend upon who screws up first. I had a battle that went on for at least 45 minutes to an hour this morning lol

I just remembered something though.. one team that beat me pretty well was someone with all defence (I assume) Banette with Knock Off. I wasn't prepaired for that lol

Excuse what was that??
I think we would all appreciate it if u don't make useless comments

As for the team its a OU and the movesets are OU too
so there is not much to say

The reason why I personally will like Vappy over Milotic here. Got wish to heal if leftovers are gone ^^ Yes you lose some tanking ability because wish isn't instant like recover, but wish as a team support skill is very helpful. Also, a 2nd hazer can be nice.

I highly reccomend you quit rating movesets. Those would be horrible things to do to those already good movesets.

DayDreamer October 26th, 2004 7:37 AM

Your team looks awesome but it won't be able to beat a team with many electric attacks. Electicity could kill your two water types and maybe your Blissey too (counter won't work). Also in my opinion you should switch aerial ace with ice beam to take out any dragons that my try to attack.

Demonion October 26th, 2004 8:34 AM

yeah daydreamer, i've yet to see a pokemon thunderbolting blissey (700+ HP, 300+ Sp.Def) to death will he uses seismic toss 3 times and you are prolly gone :x

Toothache October 26th, 2004 11:17 AM

Even when fully Calm Minded 6 times, any Pokemon has a tough time taking down Blissey, go with physical attacks for an easier time. I prefer Pain Split Weezing for that job (also works great vs Snorlax)

For Blissey, pain split will just result in a stall festival if both players got the same skill, so that's not really a way to defeat Blissey... (as for Snorlax, it'll depend on the situation)

Oh... right. Didn't know about the SP Def. Leech Seed is a good status problem for defeating Blissey though. Due the the large amount of HP that it has, your pokemon will recover quite alot each turn. To be more precise in choice of pokemon to use... I'd pick Breloom with Leech Seed, Mind Reader, Dynamic Punch and some other attack.

Toothache October 27th, 2004 1:11 PM

Breloom's defences aren't going to be good enough to Leech Seed for Blissey, and agian that's not an issue anyway, since Breloom will be dead in 3 rounds by Seismic Toss. But, it is unexpected for Breloom to Leech Seed.

[email protected]/Salac Berry
EV: 252 Speed, 252 Att, 6 Sp Def
Nature: + Speed, - Sp Att
Spore
Leech Seed
Mach Punch
Focus Punch

Definately an unexpected surprise, taking a spin on the old standard.

Demonion October 27th, 2004 2:35 PM

Change Mach Punch to HP Ghost otherwise it can't hit Gengar :)

Pogiforce-14 October 27th, 2004 2:44 PM

If he can even find it. The only way to get Hidden Power now is through pick up, and the chance of it being ghost is 1 in about 16 different types, whcih gives him a 6.25% chance of getting that particular type of Hidden Power. He'll have to just keep teaching it and using it until it does the right thing.

You can buy hidden power in ruby/sapphire and then trade it accross to firered/leafgreen. Besides... Breloom can only be obtained in ruby/sapphire anyways.

Demonion October 28th, 2004 12:36 AM

And its for netbattle so hidden power ghost is as easy as a mouse click :)

Mana Lugia October 28th, 2004 8:40 AM

... Hidden power's type and power depends on your genes, and iirc there's only 1 way to get a 70 power Ghost HP, which gives you 1 in (32 ^ 5 ) chances to get that coveted HP ghost (Although I guess 65 or higher are decent powered HPs).
