At first, the henchmen kinda threw me off. I mean, they had that crazy cult thing going with the outfits and hair, and I have no idea what was with the Liverpool accents. However, I was hooked when I met Cyrus, especially down in the ruins. When he's talking about his plot, and the old woman piped up about how she likes the world the way it was, I actually shouted "Shut up you old coot, I'm trying to hear this guy! You're going to die tomorrow or something so who cares what you think about the world!".

Don't get me wrong, the Rockets will always be my favorite, but I think that Galactic actually got some things right.

blueblur155 February 12th, 2010 1:16 PM

At least they're a bit more intimidating than team rocket

Trap-Eds February 12th, 2010 7:49 PM

"You daft codger! Your mask's absurd!!"

xDD I liked Team Galactic. Cyrus was/is the ultimate villian.

Gary Oak FTW February 13th, 2010 12:44 PM

Yeah Galactic is my favorite evil team..I hope the people in 5th gen are cool too,but I don't see how they can top destroying the universe.

Naikado February 17th, 2010 12:15 AM

Although I typically enjoy crazy anime hair, this team overdid it... They also had REALLY lame outfits. But it was more than just their apparel that made me like them the least. Reshaping everything to the way they like it by the use of legendary pokemon gets annoying. Team Rocket was different, even if their purpose was similar. Besides, "Team Rocket" didn't tell you what the whole friggen game was about, now did it?

Pokestick, good times. February 17th, 2010 12:30 AM

I think they were... Original, atleast. I see them as kind of an religious cult, with Cyrus having a vision and telling the others what to do and about the world that will be their (his). And the grunts have no idea what's going on, they just dress up in their funny suits, grab their Wurmples (wth) and start obeying orders :P

I think it's interesting to note that they also had an open place in society, which most of the other teams didn't that much. TR was an open mafia, you knew they were evil. Magma/Aqua were crazy and no one liked them (in the game. I'm not dragging fans into this). Galactic was a bigass corporation, with TV-ads and everything. They were just odd. Then they started acting weirder, stealing peoples Cleafaires and God knows what, and before you know, they were all up in destroying the world.

I actually think they made a good job on this team. The story's very deep, and you kind of understand how the members feel, why they do hwat they do.

the Boss's crazy. And hard to beat.

(But Rocket's still the best. Simple but hardcore.)

Bluerang1 February 17th, 2010 12:59 AM

Vicious.. Power hungry. The Sky Pillar Battles made me go, "Woah, these ones show NO mercy!" Like they just Battle and scare with wacky ideas.

psycho86wardbg February 18th, 2010 11:39 AM

I definately liked Team Rocket more. But I thought Cyrus was much more difficult then any of the other battles. Battling him right before Giratina was rough for me. I barely made it through him the first time and then Giratina ripped the remaining bit of my team.

Kon~ February 18th, 2010 5:15 PM

Team Galactic were... let's say, misguided. Most of them were taken in to this vision that Cyrus had, and mainly it was just Cyrus was a bit cuckoo and wanted to change the entire universe to make himself a God figure.

That's just a bit messed up. And I can't believe the rest of the team went along with it, dressing up silly and getting their hair done like that. :D

I have to say, though, my favourite team is a cross between the wierd but amazing clothing of the Magmas and the loveable 'evil' of Team Rocket.

Syrp February 18th, 2010 6:01 PM

Oh, I always thought that they were the sort of company that promotes something like alien conspiracies and stuff.

But now I think of them as like Team Magma/Aqua on steroids.

Klofkac February 19th, 2010 8:41 AM

They have stupid idea, and grunts are weak! Only trainer, who was stronger was Cyrus.

big NATE alpha February 19th, 2010 5:47 PM

I think Galactic was my favorite team. They actually seemed somewhat frightening, with their odd outfits and their dreams of destroying the world. But then it started happening. The coolest thing about the Galactic storyline was it set you up for this major legendary battle. "You win this, or the world is destroyed. Good luck." sort of thing. It made you feel like your character was more important than someone stopping some lowlife crooks (Rocket), and was more intense than preventing more land/water from appearing (Magma/Aqua). The backstory was really intriguing, especially when, in Platinum, it comes to light that Cyrus is only 27. It becomes apparent then, and when you meet the old couple in Sunnyshore that knew him and mention him, that something's different about this guy. The only downside is that they are laughably weak, the only times I actually had trouble beating them were the second time I battled Cyrus and each of the leaders. And that Spear Pillar team battle with your rival against Mars and Jupiter, they fainted half my team, and most of my rival's as well.

Gamefreaked February 20th, 2010 5:34 PM

Team Galactic was to far fetched for me. With Team Rocket (my favorite) I could actually see them existing in the real world, like a mafia of sorts. But with Team Galactic, Cyrus was just a crazy sociopath who got beaten back by society. Do you know what normal people do when that happens? Nothing. Then the grunts were all pretty much idiots who could be beat off with one attack each pokemon and the admins weren't much better. Admittedly the admins were more creative with their own personalities which helps a bit but overall Team Galactic was a failed concept.

When I got diamond and I first saw TG I laughed. Their hair is like woah! The commander were a bit challenging for me. When you first fight (I frogot her name) but the one at the Windworks. The one with the Purugly xD, yeah that gave me a lot of trouble. I think TG stepped up their game a bit in Platinum. Espically Cyrus. HE'S A BEAST!

Honestly I expected more from them in Platinum. I know everyone basically quits and said they're going to live a normal life. I would love to see how Mars, Jupiter and Saturn look like in normal clothes and being all nice to me. They just poofed Galactic away after Stark Mountain. I wish they added more. Overall a pretty badass group.

Lt_Nite February 20th, 2010 10:13 PM

To me there were absolutely ridiculous, but at least they score points for originality in a pokemon game. To me they were the craziest of the evil teams, going from the simple I want money attitude of TR to, "Hey let's make our own universe!11!!1!." To me that just makes me chuckle. Only think I hated about battling them were those terrible Stunkys!

Honest February 21st, 2010 9:26 AM

Aliens with afros haircuts xD

I found them pretty amusing, really. How they were gonna make tehre own world, or whatever. They could loose the alien look though, don't you think? xD

I didn't really get the same feeling from them as a did from Team Rocket, or even Team Magma/Galactic to a certain extent. Cyrus was an interesting character, but I didn't really feel like he intimidated me too much. We knew he had intentions to destroy and rebuild the universe, but none of his actions really struck me as menacing. However, that may be where his charm lies: he wasn't in it for the sake of being evil, he was a man like any other; just with a misguided heart. That in itself may be terrifying.

But I think Team Rocket has to be the most menacing of all teams, in my opinion. They weren't exactly terrifying at face value, but then you got down to Lavender Town and they can be seen in a whole new light. They killed a Pokemon for God's sake, so who knows what else they're capable of? Who knows if the Marowak was the only one?

And those possibilities in themselves make Team Rocket the most menacing team to me.

Yeah but Team Galactic 9/11ed a lake. So killing a pokemon or blowing up a lake, What's more intense?

chaos11011 February 21st, 2010 6:57 PM

I love Team Galactic <3

They have some of my most favorite pokemon (Purugly,Stunktank,Toxicroak,Weavile,Honchkrow, ect.)

Also have you noticed that all of the "Teams" have a space theme?Rockets (Spaceships) Magma and Aqua (The Earth) Galactic (Obvious?)

Any ways yeah, they made DPPt fun and exiting.I was even planning to make a Playthrough with Cyrus' Team

in my opinion story wise of TG, i thought they were pretty ridicolous. I guess they get points for having publicity and stuff, but it's like when cyrus is explaining himself with how emotions are pointless and what not, and he wants to restart the whole universe because of it, and THAT's his motive for doing what he's doing, i just get really confused. It's like he says one thing but he deffinately shows some hate and anger and some resentment in his actions and words, and even then he jus tosses it off like *these useless emotions* you know? He lies to his own team for his own plan, so he's also selfish. I also dont rly think it makes much sense the grunts work for TG when they're all brain dead on what they're ACTUALLY achieving. I didn't really find him lying to his grunts *evil* i honestly found it to be more manipulative and selfish on cyrus' part.

With the other teams, i felt it was more interesting with them then TG. With magma and aqua, they're trying to revive ancient pokemon to help *reform* the world and *not* destroy it. All the while having conflict with each other over what would happen with the world. In emerald they even tried controlling kyogre and groudon(when they were fighting) to stop them from destroying the world, but obviously failed. With team rocket, they were just these awesome criminals who (imo) had the most teamwork and coordination on their actions. They basically took over saffron city with silph co and would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for the player(gary didnt rly care) and they even owned a gym in viridian. They're also the only team that i know of that actually KILLED a pokemon, its too bad giovanni disappeared after all that though, but it goes to show that team rocket was still at it even without a leader, and that says something about how they operated.

I guess what im basically saying is that TG isn't exactly *beleivable* or as deep as the other teams have been. I felt it just came out of left field for them to appear and be like *Hey let's destroy the universe because emotions suck!*(with only a few to actually know what's happening while everyone else is being lied to) not only that, but their hair color is the same for every person, it's understandable for the uniform to be the same (such as magma and aqua for example) but why the hair?? The one thing TG does achieve though is making villains as cyrus, mars, jupiter, and having some cool battles with them. But other then those things, TG doesn't really have much going with me. (this is all my opinions btw lol)

Alpha_Spike February 25th, 2010 12:37 AM

I found TG to be pathetic. They dress weird and act like freaks. Cyrus was probably the best one of them minus his attitude.

SiReNzZ February 25th, 2010 4:39 AM

I think that they are far more insane than TR
They plan much bigger things than TR .

Okami Chi February 25th, 2010 5:01 AM

Their haircuts must be cheap...*cough* bowl haircuts *cough*

Zizi February 25th, 2010 5:05 AM

I find them funny and rather stupid. They have all these grand plans but never really stop and think them through. Mind you, I can't think of one team in all the Pokemon games that actually thought properly about the impact of what they're planning lol.
