Do you include an edit / delete reason when editing your posts?

The title doesn't really need anything further added to it so...

1. Do you include an edit/delete reason in your posts and why?
2. Do you like to read other people's edit/delete reasons?

I don't usually have an edit reason, unless there's good reason to have one. The same goes for when I delete my posts. In the past I'm pretty sure I did it more often, though. I like reading other people's deletion reasons more than edit reasons, especially when a staff member deletes a post, it's sometimes interesting.

Houndoom19 February 14th, 2010 5:46 AM

1: Sometimes. If I feel the readers should know why I edited then I will, but if all I did was fix a typo or something I don't really see the point.
2: Not especially.

1. Do you include an edit/delete reason in your posts, why or why not?
Nope, it's a waste of time and I don't think many people care enough to read em...

2. Do you like to read other people's edit/delete reasons?
Only if it makes sense and it's not "LMAO, you don't wanna know..."

poopnoodle February 14th, 2010 6:23 AM

1. Do you include an edit/delete reason in your posts and why? only if I came back to edit it after more than five minutes, or if I just happen to feel like it.
2. Do you like to read other people's edit/delete reasons?
I'll spot the reason but it's not an absolute thrill, I don't go out of my way looking for edited posts to read the reasons for.

Conan Edogawa February 14th, 2010 6:46 AM

I usually add reasons just because I want to. But I only do that when I'm not rushed and not feeling lazy. I read the ones other people post because sometimes there funny and it's funny to see the people that try to be funny.

Lady Gaga February 14th, 2010 6:47 AM

I edit my post A LOT, but I almost never put a reason why I do. Usually I am just adding another thought, or fixing spelling.

alisaie February 14th, 2010 6:50 AM

I edit my posts a lot in order to fix a typo, a number (in the case of DLTMSA), or something else. That or what I said is of the past and I need to edit it to say something more recent or to counteract it. When I edit my posts, I don't include a reason.

As for deleting, I barely include a reason, but sometimes I do it for the lulz.

1. Sometimes, but only if its in a section of the forums I care about.

2. Sometimes, depends on who deletes them.

1. Do you include an edit/delete reason in your posts and why?
Not always. If I just corrected some typos, it's not necessary (except if there was a funny one), but if I delete a post or add information to a post, I usually do.

2. Do you like to read other people's edit/delete reasons?
Why not? They can be interesting.

Eucliffe February 14th, 2010 7:43 AM

1. Depends on what I'm editing/deleting XD

2. Nah, not really. Unless it was deleted by a staff member or something :>

1. Do you include an edit/delete reason in your posts and why?
I used to, but not anymore. It just gets useless telling people the reason you edited your post.

2. Do you like to read other people's edit/delete reasons?
Only if it's one of those conversations where they delete their posts and talk through the reason they deleted their post.

Ayselipera February 14th, 2010 8:14 AM

Yeah I do because I like to satisfy people's curiosity. :D I hate when I see an edited or deleted post and they don't state why. So I always make sure I leave a reason just in case there are other people out there like me who feel the same way.

Yes I always do. :)

TrinityLimit February 14th, 2010 8:23 AM

no i do not.

and yes, many members on here have interesting things to say..... lol.

Timbjerr February 14th, 2010 8:48 AM

1. Do you include an edit/delete reason in your posts and why?
Only if I delete or edit my post after the five-minute threshold so that the "edited/deleted by:" the line will show up anyways.
2. Do you like to read other people's edit/delete reasons?
The staff members often leave funny notes when they delete posts, but I rarely even notice the "edited by:" in other people's posts, so I only read them if I notice them. some people (myself included) try to make the line rather humorous. :P

TwilightBlade February 14th, 2010 8:55 AM

Yep, I usually have to include a reason, and if not modding, I do anyways to remember why that post was altered. :D

I like to read the delete reasons in S&M, which is modded by one hilarious group... XD

RYOUKI February 14th, 2010 10:09 AM

Yes, because people would misunderstand. It seems to happen a lot for me.

Esper February 14th, 2010 11:07 AM

I like to just because the option is there. It's like writing a check (for those of us who have them and sometimes have to use them). They have a blank space that says: "For: ____________" so if you're writing one to someone you know you can write "For: Giant Squid Eggs" or anything you want because it doesn't matter.

RCMF13 February 14th, 2010 12:12 PM

Sometimes. If I accidentally posted in the wrong thread because of tabbed browsing, I would put a reason for deletion.

I sometimes put funny reasons for editing. E.g. PLEH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read other people's delete and edit reasons.

BHwolfgang February 14th, 2010 12:16 PM

I will only write an explanation why my post was deleted or edited if it matters. I generally leave it blank. No, I do not take pleasure in reading other people's explanations.

mikey February 14th, 2010 12:33 PM

1. Do you include an edit/delete reason in your posts and why?
No I never do haha.
2. Do you like to read other people's edit/delete reasons?
Nope.

Akari February 14th, 2010 2:28 PM

In short, no, I usually don't leave a reason why I edit. Sometimes I leave a reason for deletion, though, if I feel random.

I read the reasons why others delete a few times, since sometimes there are interesting things that might be said, just like in a post itself.

Halcyon February 14th, 2010 7:28 PM

1. Do you include an edit/delete reason in your posts and why?
Not really. It feels really edited.

2. Do you like to read other people's edit/delete reasons?
Yes. XD

Sammi February 14th, 2010 7:44 PM

I only add edit reasons when I think it'd be somewhat amusing. Most of the time I don't really bother. It's more common for me to add deletion reasons, but those are usually serious and dull to read. :p

I read edit/deletion notices when I notice them, but it's not something I commonly seek out.

Unforgettable February 15th, 2010 3:44 AM

1. No unless it's a joke, like in ticty.
2. Not unless we are joking and I have reason too.

♣Gawain♣ February 15th, 2010 4:40 AM

1. Always. But mainly it's some sort of joke and stuff.
2. I would always do that.
