Fire Red/Leaf Green
Hi,
Can someone please help me a little. What are the differences between Red/Blue and Fire Red/Leaf Green? Good points and bad points please. Also is there any differences between Fire Red and Leaf Green? Many Thanks, Brendan. :) |
Mainly it's graphical differences, the Sevii Islands, and available Pokémon.
The Gen III games have updated graphics, being able to take advantage of a more powerful graphics processor. Also, there are are several new additions to FireRed, including the Running Shoes, the Vs. Seeker, and the (worthless, IMO) Fame Checker. Also different is the Pokémon movepools. Most Pokémon in this game can learn moves introduced in Gens II-III, as well as most of their old moves from Gen I. The Sevii Islands are a small subquest that you first take part in after beating Blaine, as well as after you beat the Champion for the first time. After you beat the E4 for the first time, they allow you to catch Gen II Pokémon. Also unique to these games is that they allow you to connect to Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, which Red/Blue cannot do. The plot between the two games, however, remains largely the same. Between FireRed and LeafGreen, however, there are virtually no differences. The only major difference is version-exclusives. Check Bulbapedia for those differences. |
Ok thanks pal :)
Well I really enjoyed the originals, Red/Blue/Yellow and dont see any faults at all, other than the graphics :( So I dont really know which one to get, as its a bit annoying getting used to all the new pokemon. I might get Gold/Silver, what you think of those? Cheers. x |
You can also play as male or female in FR/LG but not R/B.
As for G/S, I would have suggested going for HG/SS instead, but you did say that you didn't want the new Pokemon. I'd actually say, in your case, go for Crystal unless you really want a Mareep or its evolutions, which are unavailable in Crystal. Crystal has expanded story, male/female character choice, Ice Beam/Thunderbolt/Flamethrower move tutors, Battle Tower, and the ability to get multiple evolution stones, which are not in G/S. |
