How high is your pain tolerance?
Oh look, I'm making a thread for the fun of it.
Anyway! Title. How high is it? Can you take really really large needles and barely hurt/complain? Or are you someone who squirms at a drop of a hat? Though you shouldn't really, since that means you have some extreme fears there. Buuut, how can you handle such pain? I'd like to think I can handle pain relatively okay, well, I barely suffered when I got my wisdom teeth removed, and today I got a mole removed, which didn't hurt much - I mean, it hurt, but I didn't show signs of it hurting, and now I'm hurting a little, but yeah... I dunno, I think I can handle pain/needles too fairly well. |
i have nerves of steel. doctors love me, i'm a treat to operate on; i don't squirm or flinch or get real nervous.
|
My pain tolerance is usually quite high, but it can vary depending on the situation.
|
I can deal with a lot of pain.
I've set my hand on fire. My mom set my hair on fire. (dont ask...) I used to cut. In fights, I can take a lot of hits. When I get a shot, I don't even feel it enter my skin. I got my lip pierced with no pain. So it's really high I believe? |
when Curtis hurts himself he feels a lot of pain, so that is low yeah ?
|
Well, I can't handle sharp and unexpected pain, but I can handle pain if I'm expecting it. Though I can't help yelping if something hits me unexpectedly.
|
I'm fine with shots and needles and stuff. The people at the hospital were like "You're gonna watch?" I think it's cool to watch your blood go through the tube :3
But playing Slaps and Mercy with Jesse, Blade or Austin. You can forget about that XD |
I have a fairly high pain tolerance. I can take burns, cuts, bites, scratches, pinches, needles, punches and kicks well.
|
I have a high pain tolerance only when I am angry. When I am angry, I basically feel nothing.
Well, even normally I like some forms of pain, such as twisting my ankle. I dislike being hit on the head or stabbed though. I have a medium tolerance for pain, really. |
I would say average, however, when the occasional pretty lady walks by, no amount of pain will make me flinch.
|
Well, I took a burn from a soldering iron once(guy was an *******, don't ask). I can take a bunch of hits relatively well. If I stub my toe, I get pissed like anyone else, then it just stops hurting. Sudden, sharp pains are my only major weakness. That and bullets.
|
It is probably around the "above-average" area.
I can handle injections and ankle sprains fairly well. :3 |
I'm wonderful at handling pain. I can't tell you how many times I've wiped out riding my bike and completely ripped the skin off my arms and legs without a tear. The doctor always calls me a "tough cookie" :3
|
Mine is fairly high for the most part. I can recall several occasions in which I was around someone at work (usually a girl) using my blade for cutting something or another. I accidentally cut myself, the other person freaks out like, "are you okay!!" and I'm all nonchalant like, "nah, I didn't feel anything, pass me that paper towel though."
|
I'm not sure how to measure pain. I've cried at little things like stubbing a toe. I was totally calm and collected when I stepped on a nail and when I broke my arm, but I cried and screamed when I was bitten by a dog. I'd have to guess I'm somewhere in the middle when you average it out.
|
I really can't handle those dang needles,my skin is like sensitve, whenever I get a shot I go crazy yo I'm serious, when I was young I used to cry and run across the doctor's office, now I'm a bit okay with them but still in my my mind I'm like "OUUUCCH".
|
I can handle pain fairly well.

Seeing as I am very accident prone, it makes sense to have high pain tolerance, and I do. If I'm at the doctors, and they take blood via needles, I don't even feel anything (I actually laugh, no joke... don't ask why).
Like yesterday, me and my friends were playing some football, and at some point in the game, I crushed my thumb. But I never even felt it, until I got home (Though that may have been due to adrenaline). So in short, yes, a high pain tolerance. |
I try to do do a lot of Parcour in my neighborhood, so there have been times where I've fallen off a roof and had to drive myself to the hospital with a broken arm.
So the fact that I managed to drive to the hospital, park, walk to the nurses' desk and ask to get my arm looked at proves I have a high pain tolerance. D: |
I'd say fairly high. I've fallen off the trampoline before and smacked my head dead center into a garden brick. All I did was sit back up and look around like nothing happened. Got a concussion too since everything was really slurry and every motion I made felt very slow. Sure my head was throbbing non-stop for the next few days or so, but it didn't exactly hurt. :x Then I've been shot with a BB gun bullet in the left shoulder blade and didn't feel that either. When my older sister went to dig the bullet out I still didn't feel any pain, but everyone else was panicking. XDD I take shots well, the only thing that makes me cringe is when they go to draw blood from the center of your arm. I dunno why, but that always drives me crazy. They could inject that needle anywhere else and I'd have no problem but the center of the arm.. ack. o.e; Honestly I've come from a very violent background. This kinda stuff was routine. >.>; So gradually my pain tolerance has gotten very high to deal with it. |
High, I work out in the gym, and play Football about every Friday. So I say mine is high. ;)
|
It depends on where the pain is. If I knock something with my shin I already swear and/or scream, but in contrast to that, my pain tolerance on most other is pretty high. Especially, when something hard hits my head (for example once it got hit by a punching bag's iron chain, don't ask me how it happened), it does often not or only barely barely hurt.
|
I have always been fine with needles - I give blood and those needles used by the Blood Service are quite large. xD So those don't bother me too much.
I do overreact to papercuts but of course that would hit a lot of sensitive nerves...I think I have a sensible pain threshold but it's not particularly strong or weak either way. >> |
Probably average at best. I can handle needles fine and well, though I usually have to say "ow" if I get in a small accident (ex. paper cut, hit my toes, bump of the head).
I should exercise more. D: |
Physical pain, pretty high. I haven't cried due to physical pain in years.
Emotional pain, pretty damn low. It sucks. :( |
