Well done i stopped playing after crystal!!! Are you going to do another one???
|
yeah, im gonna do fighting type now, i figure i can grab a few of them early on. so when is the perso gonna put me in as a champ? staying up all night to get started. btw pichu, how far are you?
im going to do it on blue this time |
I am in Cerulean city. Just trying to train everyone up to level 32 before I challenge Misty, I would be there by now but I havent had much time at the moment...
Edit: I think the first fighting type is a Mankey outside Pewter City, but Mankey is a good one cos it trains to be quite strong, especially catching it that early on the game. Edit 2: Would you do a GSC one because I am thinking about starting one, if there isnt one already... Edit 3: I am on Blue, are you on a gameboy or an emulator, I am using Visual Boy Advance it is cool cos you can speed it up slightly just by turning off the sound, it speeds up to the sort of speed you get with the running shoes... UPDATE: S*** MY GAME GLITCHED AGAIN!!!! I AM ALL THE WAY BACK IN MT MOON NOW!!!!!! B****Y GAME!!!!!! |
Im gonna do posion on Blue
|
Well, after not having enough time managing to finish off my fire challange, I am going to try and get a "big" update in my file this time.
--- - Entered the Rocket Game Corner and defeated the Rocket Grunt guarding the poster. - Went to the Poké Mart and bought 20 Super Potions (for May since she'll need constant healing). - Healed my Pokémons at the Poké Center. - Re-entered the Rocket Game Corner and pushed the button behind the poster. Headed downstairs in the hideout. - Wasted 2 Super Potions on May while fighting a Rocket Grunt in the Game Corner basement. - May grew to level 21 while defeating a Rocket Grunt. Also going to be switching out to Flare to help defeat strong pokémons (till May is strong enough to fight). - Wasted 1 Potion on May while she grew to level 22. - While fighting in the Rocket Basement, a Rocket's Raticate managed to kill May with Hyper Fang. Flare avenged his team-mate. - Left and healed at the Poké Center. - Re-entered the Rocket Game Corner a third time. - While fighting a Rocket, it's Koffing poisoned my Vulpix and I used an Antidote. Got Poisoned again and managed to have Flare finish it off. May grew to level 23. - Used Dig to escape the Rocket Game Corner and healed at the Poké Center. - Entered the Rocket Game Corner a 4TH time ;-;. - Picked up the "Double Edge" TM. - Beat another Rocket using May making her grow to level 24. Also wasted another Super Potion on it. - While fighting a Rocket, he dropped a Lift key. Picked up the item "Lift Key". - Took the Elevator to floor B4 and fought the two Rocket's guarding the door to Giovanni. May grew to level 25. - Took on Giovanni. Rocket Head Giovanni Onix: Taken down by a single Dig. Rhyhorn: Also taken down by a Single Dig. Kangaskhan: Even though Slash got Critical, it still survived. Another one took it down. - May grew to level 26. - Flare grew to level 46 and learned Flamethrower. Got rid of "Ember" for Flamethrower. - Obtained Silph Scope. - Used Dig to escape and healed my team at the Poké Center. - Left Celadon City and travelled back to Lavender Town. - Entered the Pokémon Tower. --- Badges: 3 Pokédex: 5 Time: 5:56 May (Vulpix) Level: 26 Type: Fire HP: 65 Attack: 33 Defense: 30 Speed: 48 Special: 48 Moves: Ember, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Roar Sandshrew (Cut Slave). Level: 14 Type: Ground HP: 38 Attack: 26 Defense: 29 Speed: 18 Special: 16 Moves: Scratch, Sand-Attack, Cut Flare (Charizard) Level: 46 Type: Fire / Flying HP: 144 Attack: 109 Defense: 103 Speed: 119 Special: 96 Moves: Slash, Dig, Flamethrower, Leer --- So much for a big update ;-; |

Because I am an idiot and didn't beat that last Rocket member hiding in the Celadon Rocket Game Corner, my next update in Blue will have me wasting my time to travel back and defeat him ¬_¬'.
--- - Left Pokémon Tower and travelled all the way back to Celadon City. - Entered the Rocket Game Corner. - Defeated the last Rocket member in the Game Corner and escaped using Dig. - Bought 2 Firestones in the Poké Mart. - Also bought a Fresh Water out in vending machiene on the roof-top in the Poké Mart. - Got Eevee in Celadon City and named it Verity (which'll be hilarious if traded to 2nd gen as it'll turn out to be male ;-;). - Used Fire Stone on Verity and she evolved into a Flareon. - Healed my team at the Poké Center and left for Lanvender Town. - Entered the Pokemon Tower for a 2nd time. - Ran into my Rival. Rival Zachary Pidgeotto: switched Verity and brought out Flare. It done Gust to me and I finished it off with a single Slash Growlithe: Brought out Verity again andf switched her out for Flare. Tried to do "Roar" to me yet was useless and died from 1 Slash Exeggcute: Brought out Verity again but allowed her to kill it with a couple of tackles. Also did little damage to me with Barrage. Kadabra: Went down from two Tackle's by Verity. Wartortle: Went down from 6 Tackle's from Verity (Rival used a Potion) and she nearly died from a couple of Water Gun's / Bubbles. - Verity grew to level 26 - Used a Super Potion on Verity and switched her position for May (since May has a fire type move and can kill Gastly's). - Used a single Potion on May after beating a Channler (didn't need to use one but used one just to be on the safe side :)). - While fighting against a Channler, wasted 1 Super Potion on May since she nearly died of a Gastly's Night Shade. May grew to level 27. - May got Paralysed fighting against a Channler's Gastly and wasted 2 Super Potions on it this time. - Before entering the purify zone, finished off the rest of the Channler's by switching out May and bringing in Flare to kill most of there Pokemons with Flamethrower. Non grew ;-;. - Healed Pokemons by stepping in Purify Zone. - May grew to level 28 after beating yet another Channler. Got rid of "Roar" for "Confuse Ray. - Both Flare & May suffered from Paralysis when fighting a Channler's Haunter. Had to return back to the Purify zone to cure the problem. - Suffered another Paralyse from a Channler's Gastly. Wasted a Super Potion on Flare & May. - Flare suffered Paralyse from beating the Last Channler's Gastly. Also threw away 2 Potions & Awakening and picked up a Rare Candy. Wasted a Super Potion on Flare. - Obliterated Marowak with Flare's Flamethrower (had to return May so she didn't die though). - Defeated the 3 Rocket's and saved Mr. Fuji. Wasted 1 Super Potion to heal Verity and May grew to level 29. Mr Fuji also gave me the Poké Flute for saving him. - Sold 1 Nugget & 1 Rare Candy at the Poké Mart. - Healed my Pokemons at the Poké Center and despositied not needed items in my PC. - Left for Celadon City. - Took the Celadon Gym challange and May suffered Paralysis after the 2nd trainer. Flare grew to level 47. - Left the Gym and healed my team. Also depositied any items that aren't needed. - Bought 15 Antidotes, 15 Awakenings, and 15 Paralyz Heal's at the Poké Mart. - Entered the Celadon Gym for a 2nd time and defeated the rest of Erika's trainers growing May to level 31. Only had to waste one Paralyz heal, one Antidote, and one Super Potion on May. Also took on Erika. Gym Leader Erika Victreebel: Since I had no grass type to help me this time (as all her Pokemons spam Poison powder if you start with Bulbasaur), this Pokemon actually gives me hassle now. Wasted one Antidote on May (since I got hit with Poison Powder) Managed to get it burned and it fainted after three Ember's from May. It spammed Wrap (which was lucky for me). Tangela: Hardly a threat as it only spammed Bind here (which wasted time). Died from 2 Ember's from May. Vileplume: Erika's "most" annoying Pokemon to take out. May was running out of Ember's as it is so with Vileplume nearly dead, May managed to burn it. May used 1 Quick-Attack before Erika used a Super Potion on it so that the burn wouldn't have killed it. Vileplume's Petal Dash spammed my May and killed it in three moves. Flare finished it off with a Slash. - May grew to level 32. - Recieved the Rainbow Badge and the "Mega Drain" TM. - Left Celadon Gym and healed my team. --- Badges: 4 Pokédex: 7 Time: 7:26 May (Vulpix) Level: 32 Type: Fire HP: 79 Attack: 41 Defense: 37 Speed: 60 Special: 60 Moves: Ember, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Confuse Ray Sandshrew (Cut Slave) Level 14 Type: Ground HP: 38 Attack: 26 Defense: 29 Speed: 18 Special: 16 Moves: Scratch, Sand-Attack, Cut Flare (Charizard) Level: 47 Type: Fire / Flying HP: 148 Attack: 112 Defense: 106 Speed: 122 Special: 99 Moves: Slash, Dig, Flamethrower, Leer Verity (Flareon) Level: 26 Type: Fire HP: 73 Attack: 74 Defense: 39 Speed: 41 Special: 71 Moves: Tackle, Sand-Attack --- Might update again later :) |
ok...well there are no makeys in blue version....so im starting with red now...
started game, blahblahblah, beat rival, blahblahblah, got 2 mankys, trained them and beat brock. done for tonight. |
Hoping to get a decent update in my Blue file this time.
--- - Travelled West of Celadon City and encountered a rather fat Snorlax. Used the Poké Flut on it and it awoke to fight. Switched out May for Flare and beat it with 2 Flamethrower's. - May grew to level 34 after defeating the top-half of the Bikers on Cycling Road. Wasted 1 Elixer and 3 Super Potions on it. - While fighting a Biker, May grew to level 35 and learned Flamethrower. Got rid of the move "Ember". Also ran out of Super Potions :(. - Finished defeating the last of the Biker's on Cycling Road growing May to level 37. Verity also grew to level 28 (where it also managed to learn Quick Attack). - Defeated the Bird Keeper's on Route 18 growing Verity to level 29 & Flare to level 48. - Arrived in Fuchsia City and healed my team. - Took on the Gym Challange and left after nearly having May die of a Juggler's Kadabra. Also sold All Paralyz Heals / Antidotes / Awakenings and bought 25 Super Potions & 25 Full Heals at the Poké Mart. Also healed my team and returned to the Fuchsia City Gym. - Took on 2 more trainers only to leave the gym after May died (again). She managed to grow to level 38. Healed my team (again) and re-entered the gym for a third time. Also had wasted 1 Super Potion and 1 Full Heal. - Finished off Koga's trainers growing May to level 39. Wasted 2 Full Heal's and 3 Super Potions to heal my team. Also challanged Koga. Gym Leader Koga Koffing: Hardly a threat as it's only damage it did was Tackle. Went down from 2 Flamethrower's by May. Muk: Thought it was going to be a threat but all Koga did was spam X Attack's to make it stronger. Sadly, all it did was Poison Gas (which I wasted a Full Heal on May). Survived two Flamethrowers from May (and now had no PP for the move) before it went down from 3 Quick Attacks. Koffing: Died from Flare's Flamethrower. Weezing: Survived from Flare's Flamethrower and managed to posion it with Sludge. Cured the problem with a Full Heal and Koga used an X Attack. Weezing fell from another Flamethrower. - May grew to level 40. - Recieved the Soul Badge and got the "Toxic" TM. - Healed my team at the Poké Center. - Payed 500 to enter the Safari Zone. Managed to find the Gold Teeth and recieved the "Surf" HM. - Handed the "Gold Teeth" to the Warden and recieved the "Strength" HM. Taught Strength to Sandshrew. - Travelled east and arrived in Route 15. While fighting the first trainer, wasted some Full Heal's and managed to grow Verity to level 30 & Flare to level 49. - While in Route 15, Verity fainted against a Bird Keeper because of one Sand-Attack. May helped finish the battle. Travelled back to a Poké Center. Also went to the Poké Mart and bought 25 Revives. Went back to Route 15. - Finished defeating the rest of the trainers on Route 15. Wasted a couple of Super Potions / Full Heal's and 1 Revive on Verity. Verity grew to level 34 (and learned Ember at 31). - Defeated the trainers on Route 14 growing Verity to level 36 (who sadly ran out of attacking moves :() and growing May to level 42 (teaching it Fire Spin and ridding Tail Whip). Also used my last Fire Stone evolving May into Ninetales. Also used a few Super Potions. - Defeated the trainers on Route 13 growing May to level 43 (Who ran out of moves for attacking :(). Wasted 1 Super Potion. - Defeated the trainers on Route 12 growing Flare to level 50. Also killed the last Snorlax there. - Travelled to Saffron City where I had to hand over my Fresh Water to the guard to get access to the city. Also recieved the TM "Psychic". - Healed my team at the Poké Center. --- Badges: 5 Pokédex: 8 Time: 10:13 Verity (Flareon) Level: 36 Type: Fire HP: 101 Attack: 105 Defense: 56 Speed: 59 Special: 99 Moves: Tackle, Sand-Attack, Quick Attack, Ember Sandshrew (Cut & Strength Slave) Level: 14 Type: Ground HP: 38 Attack: 26 Defense: 29 Speed: 18 Special: 16 Moves: Scratch, Sand-Attack, Cut, Strength May (Ninetales) Level: 43 Type: Fire HP: 136 Attack: 87 Defense: 82 Speed: 112 Special: 112 Moves: Flamethrower, Fire Spin, Quick Attack, Confuse Ray Flare (Charizard) Level: 50 Type: Fire / Flying HP: 157 Attack: 120 Defense: 113 Speed: 130 Special: 106 Moves: Slash, Dig, Flamethrower, Leer --- Might update later or tomorrow. Taking a break from playing. |
I'm on spring break, plus I'm sick, so I really need something to do. Consider me in on this one. I debated which type to use all weekend, no joke. XD But I think I'm going to go with Poison for this. I don't plan on using a full team, but mind end up doing so; there's so many poison types in these games. I'm about to get my Red Version and start. I'm waving goodbye to a Mew and Articuno, by the way. :C I hope y'all are happy. ;; Don't expect wonderful, elaborate update stories, by the way. Not my style. I'll probably just update after every badge.
Don't know the sign up sheet... User: Sydian Type: Poison Badges: 0 Time: 0:00 Team: None |

@shiny-pichu
2 ways i know of, one is a glitch that i havent tried, the other is with a game shark, at first the mew will look all glitched but once u capture it its normal. im pretty sure we can use a gameshark to get mew?look up the codes online, bescides on the first page the person says we can use mew and those r the only 2 known ways to get it... levelin up my mankys into primeapes. got a farfetched for cut, training. http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/3281/fightingy.png |
Just beat Lt. Surge. I'll go through Rock Tunnel later; I'm SRing for a shiny Treecko right now, so I'm kinda tired of multitasking. Yes, I realize I'm a bit underleveled for this point in the game. It bugs me.
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/5/58/Spr_1b_002.png Zoom / Ivysaur lv. 27 - Cut - Poison Powder - Leech Seed - Vine Whip http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/5/5b/Spr_1b_033.png Goupille / Nidorino lv. 27 - Leer - Bubblebeam - Horn Attack - Poison Sting http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/3/39/Spr_1b_024.png Charmer / Arbok lv. 25 - Wrap - Leer - Poison Sting - Bite http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/2/23/Spr_1b_042.png Batte / Golbat lv. 25 - Leech Life - Supersonic - Bite - Confuse Ray He actually ended up beating Surge's Raichu. Hohoho. |
ok well as you all know im NOT a writer so ill make this short sweet and um...not sure what the limits on this site are about saying inapropriot things...so whatever.um i got cut then went and got flah then went in rock cave or whatever even though it was black because i wanted a machop. i leveled up all my pkmn so yeah then i kicked LT.SURGE's ass. here they r...
http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/687/pkmn.png |
Oh yeah I tried that gameshark one before, when I saw we could have mew, that is what made that strange trainer appear just before my game glitched up and crashed. I really ought to play this game again lol, havent been on it for about 3 days, could have finished it by now lol.
|
wow guys, i come back after a long break and still nobody has joined me and GoldenPokeBall on the champion board. Or Platinum just hasn't updated it. Nevertheless I'm going to finish the flying challenge as soon as I'm done with this Ultimate Water Monotype Challenge. So probably next week at the latest.

I don't think it's ever too late to join in on some good ole fashion Gaming.
And with all due honesty I've owned Blue since I was Nine and haven't beat it (Although I've beat Yellow a couple of times). So I'll get started on blue, Unfortunately, I'll be using an Emu since I've seemed to misplace my copy (Which I literally saw three days ago). Since I've yet to actually train a Water Pokemon in the first Generation, I will partake in the challenge using the Water dwellers (Plus, it fits the game title LOL) I'll also be keeping up to date by inserting 'Journal Entries' -- I liked how a few posters made entries like that, so all credit goes to them for the style. I'll crack out the pen, bedroll and Squirtle Snacks and get started, Never too early to join in community activities! Edit: Nick's Journal Day 1: Today I received my Pokemon from Professor Oak. Naturally my Rival, Jack had to choose the Bulbasaur which I learned afterward that was my little friend; Vatn's weakness. My new pal and I gave our wishes to my Mother before heading into the tall grass, I knew it'd be a while before I saw her again. we ventured through Route 1, which I stayed for a while to get the hang of combat, by the end, Vatn was pumped beyond belief. Once hitting Viridian a took a stroll through town, visiting the folk, the empty gym and resting at the Center. The Market Manager greeted me asking me to deliver to Oak, I wasn't much of a delivery boy but, I would make it to greatness even if it was one Parcel at a time. I went to Oak, gave him his package and in turn he wanted me to help his research with this device called a 'Poke'dex' I've never been the type to turn down that which is given to me. Day 2: After going back to Viridian city, I head north, past where earlier I met an unreasonably cranky man the day before and went straight through route 2, away I went into Viridian forest -- Bad Move. I didn't think about bringing antidotes with me, After battling every trainer I ran across, Vatn encountered a Weedle stinger one too many times and had been poisoned, Sometimes Luck can literally be right around the corner, where I found an antidote -- Normally I wouldn't write down something such as this but when luck such as this smiles, someone's gotta say something. I took Vatn to the patch of wild grass right before Pewter city, and trained til sunset - Which after a very brief rest I head straight to Brock; This would be easy. Vatn tore through their thick rigid skin like paper. Brock stood not even a chance, however a growing shadow in my mind says times ahead would be much more brutal, only to be shown even more difficult afterward. (I chose a style that wasn't a replicate of anybody else but however a mix and added a bit of my own like a mix between a story and a first person roleplay. I made sure not to go on too long.) |
Crystal, you have overtaken me :( I really ought to start playing again...
|
I'm going to have to step out of the challange after my GBA SP had to slip out of my knee making my file reset itself (even though I've spent a lot of time on it). Henceforoth, I am no longer going to update my file (as I aren't going back to do it).

The incredible (And somewhat redundant) Adventures of Our young Hero continue!
Day 3: Literally just after I had set from Pewter city, My young pal had matured after a single combatant, his second form was more powerful but a small part of me missed him, who I had only just obtained days earlier. He weaved through challenges, crushing them each one growing in power after the other. After a long walk, I could see that I had another task directly ahead -- Mt. Moon. I went to take my rest in the ever-so conveniently placed Center when I was approached by what seemed like a salesman, His selling pitch 'A fabulous Pokemon for your Journeys!' of course my curiousty obtained the best of me, and I bought the critter. I named his Nuwee (Noo-Wee) he could use this wondrous technique without my help even, he could splash in puddles. This will be fun. Day 4: Immediately the new morning I head into Mt. Moon, No idea why it's named that but I'm not one to judge with an over-grown fish stick in my pocket. I tried the Magikarp in the first battle I came across, He didn't have a chance -- But I wasn't giving up, I knew I'd need to give him a chance or even let him stay out through battles, each and every one. I encountered a strange group which were fairly proud of their name 'Team Rocket!' I heard many times -- It's not like anyone else was too indulged in the space age tech. By the end of Mt. Moon I was in a patch of grass, I stayed there too, only to take my little friends to the center occasionally when they couldn't handle much more. The end of the day my dedication paid off, Nuwee not only learned how to physically attack, he transformed into a beyond powerful beast. Day 5: I had slept nearby the city, Cerulean which I had finally gone into. Not for long however, I head north and encountered my Rival, Jack. Nuwee tore through him, and many more of my opponents without much problem. I finally came upon the all much talked of, Bill. It seemed he had done an experiment that had gone way beyond south -- which we fixed with no problem, he gifted me a ticket, This will be useful. I went back to town, and challenged the local Gym leader Misty. She had Pokemon that were in their form; Dazzling. And she certainly put up a defensive wall which Nuwee and Vatn took head on without fail. Everything's falling together. (The character I am portraying is not me, it's simply to make an at least decent read. This is ok, right?) Edit/Addition Day 6: After Misty, things seem to be sewing themselves, We were the fish growing in a big Pokemon sea -- Don't you just love puns? I head to route 5 encountering a Rocket Member along the way yet again, these guys are everywhere. I went through the underground pass, it seemed shorter then it looked. I passed through route 6 battling as I went, I was Vermillion before I even knew it -- I felt like I was going too fast. I was ready for the gym but first, I felt like a Cruise. I flashed my ticket and they gave me access to the S.S. Anne, beautiful she was I'd have to admit. I went from Cabin to Cabin training every step of the way I was making good time, heading to the captain I ran into Jack yet again, he bragged about his obtained list of Pokemon -- This means nothing if you can't care and keep the one's ready that need to be, Beating him with Nuwee twice in a row proved I was training and caring for them properly. Afterward I head for the captain's room since I was told he could teach me a move I needed. Sick as a dog, I helped him to his feet -- He was more then happy to show me what I needed. The day was up and the ship wouldn't leave til' mourning, what's the harm of staying in an empty cabin? Day 7: I head from the ship, watching as it departed, the occupants waving. It was time for my hardest challenge by far. I head for the gym, the local students proved little challenge, the leader, Lt. Surge proved otherwise. He provided more then enough challenge, he sent well placed Electric techniques. Both Vatn and Nuwee were seeing stars but not fainting completely, by the end of the battle. The leader grudgingly gave me the third badge to my set. It was time I stayed for a break, Adventure can wait until tomorrow. Second Edit/Addition: (I'm sorry if I'm doing it too often, I'm just getting SO into playing Blue, Also this will be a Three to Four day Journal update) Day 8: I head back to Cerulean today, at first I was lost as of where to stop next, The Pokemon sleeping on the intersection of Route 12 was blocking the way, and nothing could wake this guy. Before heading I trained a little in the local Diglett Cave to get my friends to top strength. Once in cerulean I head west using a newly obtained HM and cut my way through the brush. I ran into countless trainers along the way before running into Rock Tunnel, the Locals called it Dark Cave -- No wonder. I couldn't see anything with a light source. I sped through the thing, I didn't wanna be stuck here when the Zubats had the advantage where I can't see. Near the end of the day I was in Lavender Town, I wasn't sure where to head next so I visited the locals and asked around -- A man had gone missing. Looks like I had a late night Adventure on my hands. After nightfall I went to the local tower in search of answers, The only thing I found were Ghosts and crazed women after Souls, Blood and the occasional random mumbling. I couldn't access the top floor, Nothing blocked me way, I just ran like a very scared toddler from the biggest Ghost in town, I'm not going back there for a while. I asked around town about the situation, it seems I need a silph Scope, and there was rumors of a Team stealing it and heading west to Celadon -- I'll go there after I sleep in for the day. Day 9: After I slept in, I head west to Celadon, encountering many Trainers along the way as I did any other occasion. I took the underground path and arose just east of Celadom. I entered the city again questioning the residents, stupid Grunts spill secrets like Milk. But before heading to the said location I remember being told of young Pokemon in need of a home, of course I would go and see the little thing. An Eevee, I heard of these things, it was adorable -- he didn't want anything for it, he just told me to grab it and go. I did so, I named him Voda. Voda and I head to the market to get a special stone for water of course. It would make him much healthier and made him less likely yo suffer damages in battle, Vaporeon was even more adorable. I head to the Gambler's corner and fought a Grunt to find a passage beneath the building. I went in and did what I did best -- Picked up random objects and took out anyone I thought was in my way, Of course I kept my medicines stocked, Voda was having his turn in learning the way of combat, he did greater then one could imagine. By the end I encountered a man named Giovanni -- He was tougher then the rest, but Voda proved his spot to the team -- Welcome to the group. Day 10: I had obtained my Silph Scope from the table near where Giovanni the day before. Let's go to the tower. Later the day I had came back to Lavender's Tower and went through the floors, all the scary ghost had melted to weak enemies. The scary ghost at the end was a Marrowak, what would of been a scary beast, was now just a powerful one. After I defeated her, her spirit departed -- Ghosts will always confuse me. I rescued the captured man at the tip of the tower from the few weak grunts. For my service I was given a Flute, well, at least I have music. Day 11: I could finally face the Gym leader. Voda could show me what he was truly capable of. The entire Gym was filled with nothing but female trainers -- I like this Gym. Her friends proved little effort with proper Medicinal products on hand, Erika however pushed me and my Pokemon to the limits. She wasn't into complete power, but using complete power with annoying tactics that sadly worked. I used much of my pack in combat, and so did she. Every one of her Pokemon better then the last -- And more annoying. By the end of the battle, Voda was as tired as he could get short of losing all strength. My fourth badge, Time for the guys to relax; I wonder if the Hotel and market are open today. My Team Blastoise/Vatn - Level 36 (Forgot to include him on my already lengthy Journal) -Withdraw -Bite -Bubble -Watergun Gyaradose/Nuwee - Level 37 -Leer -Tackle -Bite -Dragon Rage Vaporeon/Voda - Level 34 -Body Slam -Watergun -Double Team -Quick Attack (I may include pictures in my next post/Edit since I can post Picture now :D) |
I'm using blue version and I choose water types!

NOW BACK THE GLORIOUS ADVENTURES OF OUR HERO! Day 12: They're just like Weeds, except worse. Team Rocket springs up in every crack in the cement. Looks like I have some Pressure washing to do (Puns Equal Win). I went to Silph Co as it was called, another confusing puzzle that this world seems to adore, I went from Grunts, to scientists, to transportation pads in the construct, what seemed like hours I spun around the place. Finally. I found the card key -- This would be a lot easier. After going through the correct path -- When I encountered Jack, It's like he knows what I'm doing and where. Voda made short work of Gary, I loved this Pokemon, Gary told me about a Boss -- Great. Before heading to the top I encountered a Scientist who insisted on me taking his lab pet. Lapras was what it was called -- it was no way near fighting condition, but it was beyond friendly and how could on resist it's face? The Boss would help with getting him to good shape. Giovanni -- Again? Trying to involve my now new Lapras which I named Hydro in combat if made it more difficult, but in the end I was Victorious. Saffron was purged of the seemingly annoying grunts. Gym Number Five; here I come. Day 13: I went west of Celadon and passed through Routes 16, 17 and 18. I encountered countless amounts of bikers who talked like they were cool, but couldn't even care properly for their friends. I made it to Fushcia City. I took half the day to kind of just relax, I ventured through the Safari zone, got it's prize and head back for a small cat nap. Afterward I went straight to the Gym, Poison was a severe annoyance. His Students certainly proved their worth, I spent a fortune on Antidotes. Once I made it to Koga, it would actually be easier. I taught Vatn before hand a technique called Earthquake -- Great timing too. Vatn had almost shook the building apart, along with Koga's Team. That was easy -- Why do I feel like the Sixth Gym will be harder then the rest. My Team: Blastoise/Vatn - Level 42
I guess tonight I'll look up how to add little pictures/sprites + Screenshots :D |
Sorry guys, with my extended periods of absence there is no way that I'll be able to keep maintaing this thread. I'd like to turn the operations of the thread over to Myrrhman: if you want to make a new thread for this and just copy/paste the info in the first post, that will be fine. Sydian is it possible to change a thread's owner? If so, can you do that to this one?
Thanks for understanding, -PlatniumPiano (Myrrhman if you don't want to run the thread, turn it over to someone you want in charge. Good luck all!) |
OOOtay! Update #1:
I beat brock and got the whatever badge. I went through Mt. Moon. I got the Dome Fossil. I beat Misty and got the Cascade Badge. Current Pokemon: Wartortle lvl 29 Tackle Bite Bubble Watergun Edit: Traded a spearow for a farfetch'd that will be my HM slave. |
Quote:
Lol, If I have to copy and paste that's fine -- I'll put it all into one massive post and it'll be like a badly written, Publicly pushed story that I'll force many of you to read :D XD |
ok well i beat blane, going after giovani next.
aww the thread leader is missing? that sucks, ooo ooo can there be co thread leaders? im lazy but i think it would be cool it i could work with my myrrhman. |

But, of course, if myrrhman chooses to take over this thread, I'm not gonna stop him, since technically, the OP chose who he wanted to take over for this thread. P.S: myrrhman, if you don't feel like taking over the thread for this Challenge, just let me know through PM or VM and I'll take care of it. Well, seeing as the OP (Original Poster, for those unfamiliar with net acronyms) is on extended leave, someone’s gotta take over the Mono-type Red/Blue thread, right? Might as well be me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RULES 1. You may only use Pokémon of the type you have specified. 2. This is not a race, so take your time if you’d like. 3. The first Pokémon of your type must be caught before defeating Lt. Surge (this is to prevent people from breezing through the Gym with Diglett). 4. No glitches are to be used, whatsoever. Mew cannot be used, should you take up the Psychic Mono-type Challenge. The only exception to this rule is using Mew as a ‘HM Slave’, meaning that all you can use it for is HMs. It must be kept at LV. 7 at all times, and it cannot be used a shield to heal a separate Pokémon. 5. Dual-typed Pokémon are allowed (i.e: Bulbasaur and its evolutionary is available for both the Grass, and the Poison Mono-type Challenges). 6. The use of Legendary Pokémon is strictly prohibited. Mew is the only exception, for the reasons stated in Rule #4. 7. Pokémon that will evolve into the type you have chosen are legal (i.e: Charmander for the Flying-type Mono Challenge, since it’s final evolution is Charizard, a Fire/Flying-type). 8. Trading is also prohibited, unless it is to evolve a Pokémon. 9. HM Slaves are allowed, but the maximum is two, and they cannot be used in any battle of any sort. 10. You may use a type, even if someone else has already started a Challenge with it (otherwise we’d run out of spots pretty quickly) 11. Emulators are acceptable in lieu of an actual game cartridge, and you may use the Space Bar (or whatever you have the Turbo button mapped to) to help for Level Grinding. 12. Dragon-type Pokémon are not included in this Challenge, seeing as the only Dragon-type in Pokémon Red/Blue is Dratini, which cannot be obtained until late in the game. 13. Please, update your status in a post every few Gyms or so, or every Gym if you feel up to it. 14. The Challenge is officially over once the Elite Four has been defeated (but, obviously, feel free to keep playing). 15. HAVE FUN! Any questions about this Challenge should be directed to me through Personal Message (PM) or Visitor Message (VM). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's all the info I've gathered for tonight. I've re-written the entire first post, included sprites for the Challengers teams (or at least, the ones I could get to), and just made the post look less cluttered. Feel free to copy and paste everything from here and update it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to catch up on my sleep. Goodnight, everybody. |
The show must go on!
Once I get a little more Forum Literate and obtain a high post count (I only post if I'm willing to take the time to usually make fair posts) I'd volunteer to take a burden such as this -- I mean I play Pokemon off and on but these challenges, they make me need to play. So credit to those who take the burden and keep the Challenge updated! Edit: Also since you're taking up the thread -- Could I have My name listed in the challenges? (Those names under the types are ones doing not completing, right?) |
Using only one Pokemon till I can get more water types is irritating - I've died to Gary near the Indigo Plateau, twice from Weedle Poisoning in the Forest, and now to a Pidgey because of that blasted Sand Attack. Fortunately I can get a Magikarp soon >_> Speaking of that, @TheBlackRose, I knew instantly where your Gyrados came from, because it was something I had planned to do all along ^_^
Also, I'm recording it for Youtube or something. Just doing the leaders, but seeing as Brock was so foolishly easy I don't know if I'll upload it. Got the idea from an unevolved challenge that I saw. |
Thank God for the scam artist right before Mt. Moon, right?
Using Water Pokemon is a real Hassle since you can't have a proper team until AT LEAST Vermillion -- and that's if you want an entire team of Catfish. I think after I finish this challenge -- I'll go with poison. I've never really used poison before. |
het arcelio, dont forget me, i beat it with bugs and am now uing fighting, though im not gonna speed through the fighting types like i did the bugs.
ok i beat giovani. hitmonlee lvl.45 machoke lvl.45 poliwrath lvl.45 2 primeapes lvl.44 gottaa level these guys up or ill get destroyed. |

THE STORY OF OUR WATER-OBSESSED HERO CONTINUES!
Day 14: I took the long road back through routes 16, 17 and 18 -- That hill seemed to be the hardest task. I passed through Celadon -- I made a quick trip to the market. Saffron City, I was in the fighting gym before I knew it - Of course they had to badge to give, but some battle to be had. Hydro finally had his turn at showing his worth in combat -- I think I'm training them well. Afterward I head to the Psychic gym and go through the mindless puzzle set for trainers, The ghost trainers showed more Malice then those who used psychic. Sabrina showed little fight in her -- The best of her team was Alakazam -- but proper switching in battle proved it's worth. Six down, Two to go. Day 15: I flew back home to Pallet using a small bird I traded for at Vermillion, I visited my Mom and showed her my team -- I think she liked Hydro. Shortly after I sailed for Cinnabar Island - Hydro was fun to ride. Once there I visited around, I found a lab that was still in running condition, one of the scientists mentioned turning Fossils to live Pokemon again. I had a fossil. I gave him a Helix fossil I found way back in Mt. Moon -- He told me to come back later, so I surfed around and battled a few trainers before coming back. An Omanyte -- I named him Pryhisoris. I went into the maze of a place west of the gym and trained Pryhisoris as I weaved through out the maze, He certainly could fight for a Pokemon that's been gone for Several million years. I found the key and Pryhisoris evolved into a Omastar -- I'm the proud owner of the only one in the world; So I hope. Day 16: I finally could battle the seventh gym -- Which was easier then any of the other gyms, I finally had an upper hand for the first time since I first met Brock. Pryhisoris showed his combat worth today in that fire lit building -- Not even his strongest Pokemon scratched mine. My team is finally complete and I have one more Gym to go. Edit/Addition: Day 17: I surfed back to Pallet and made my way to Viridian, time for my final Gym. The Gym Leader again had a fetish for puzzles so I spent most of the time spinning in circles into non-slick tiles. I have to admit, My Pokemon weren't leveled properly for the challenge but I took it up anyway. To my surprise it was Giovanni that lead the gym -- Hopefully it would be the last time I would see the man. Ice and water -- He never stood a chance. All eight Badges in hand, I knew that my adventure was not yet over, I'd stock up on rations and prepare for the long walk ahead. Maybe I'll train first. Edit/Addition: THE FINAL EPISODE! Day 18: I head west through the short grass, I'd been here before training, it seemed like yesterday -- Then again it was only two weeks ago. I weaved through the officers, each and every one pestering me for my badge -- I was surprised one didn't ask me for a ninth on my way. I was in Victory Road, I had become apart of yet another Dangerous maze, I certainly got lost several times, Nuwee used more then his fair share in strength on the numerous puzzling boulders. Switch upon switch until I made it to the end. I needed a shower and the league had a trainer's hotel. Almost there. Day 19: I had spent the entire day training, pushing and pushing, I knew they were tired, so was I -- But I had to prepare them for the challenge ahead - It will NOT be easy in there like the Gym before, there would be no rest nor fun. I trained them through the entire day, destroying wild Pokemon upon Pokemon, Training to the limits. The end of the day I and my team were ready, They had it hard -- Just one more Day guys. Day 20/Final: It was time for the final push, the final battles. I was prepared, they were prepared and rested -- It's go time. Lorelei was first, her ice cold eyes were just as her Pokemon Fierce and tough, an intense battle unfolded which I won without much of a problem, luckily. Second was Bruno, His dedication showed me a tougher time then the first, I suffered by losing a single one of my team -- Thank God for Medical supply stock. Agatha -- She should of been like her Pokemon being at that age, her wisdom nearly stopped me then and there, I barely came out on top. Lance, He gave me a run for my life, the battle was beautiful, for each one of his I would knock down, he would counter just as is -- My Victory was result of pure luck. I won -- I finally came out as the champion; or so it would have been. Jack beat me to the spot, he held the title, his smug look saying he won and deserved his spot -- I'm gonna beat that dumb grin right from his face. I was out classed, I was out gunned, I was out trained -- But my Team pushed, and Pushed and never gave up -- If I wasn't calling a move, I was healing an injured pal. It was difficult, it was the hardest battle I had come to face -- It was a Champions battle. His final Pokemon fell to the ground, struck by the least well trained of my team. His face was priceless, his grin was now one of anger. He's got Jack on me. (That stupid pun was perfect.) Some pictures I captured. :D http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/8765/iamchamp.jpghttp://img171.imageshack.us/img171/7321/iamchampblastoise.jpghttp://img710.imageshack.us/img710/8549/iamchampgyarados.jpghttp://img444.imageshack.us/img444/1262/iamchampvaporeon.jpghttp://img42.imageshack.us/img42/5237/iamchamplapras.jpghttp://img691.imageshack.us/img691/6509/iamchampomastar.jpghttp://img444.imageshack.us/img444/6965/iamchampnick.jpg And Que the dramatic ending sequence! http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/2060/iamchampend.jpg Next! :D I REALLY enjoyed doing this guys -- I think I'll either retake this one, or take a more odd challenge (Why does all Baby Pokemon appeal to me...) |
Alright, I complete the game, forgot to keep updating but my final team was:
BULBA: Level 63 WEEPSPROUT: Level 60 NIDA: Level 60 NIDO: Level 60 ZOLBAT: Level 60 I would rechallenge but I am sooo busy with my ROM hacking at the moment. Crystal You still interested in doing that GSC challenge? |
sure man, just give me a few mins to beat the elite four, i realy havent been playing latly.
|
cool, let me know when u r ready, I was thinking of giving it a bit of a twist, will pm you with it in a bit
|
ok, i beat the game with fighting types, i liked them because they coulod learn a varaity of different moves, fighting, normal, electric, water, ice, fire. they were great, the only problum i realy had was with psychic types.
final team 2 lvl.60 mankys lvl.61 poliwrath lvl.60 machoke lvl.60hitmonlee i honestly could have finished it in a few days but i get distracted... |
Mind if I do flying? I feel like using a new mono type instead of picking fire all the time ^^
|
So to clarify, it looks as if Myrrhman isn't active in this thread anymore? In that case, it is fine for Arcellio (spelling?) to take over, form a new thread w/e. I understand that it will be too big of a hassle to collect all the data from everyones challenges, so a clean one would be fine.
I'm sorry for my periods of extended leave guys! But to whomever creates the new thread, I'll try to finish my water challenge and post it there... (BTW Black Rose.... How did you beat the E4? Were they all lvl 50 goin in? Mine are there right now, but I'll see how I can do. Would you reccomend training them to higher levels? Thanks.) |
Oh, sorry Platinum, I've just been checking the first post periodically. I can take over if you want no problem, I'm running the 3rd gen right now, and it doesn't take me long to go through 7 pages to copy data. I'm incredibly organized (and a little bit addicted to organizing things. for example, i'm going to have to finish all the monotype challenges so i can have one run with each of them) which is exactly what you need in someone running it. I'll have it posted in a few hours probably.
|
Go ahead and sign me up for a flying type one on red version...
I'm also considering doing a ground one too, but I would like to know if I could use Primape on that one. If I CAN use Primape please notify me and put me down for that one as well. Thanks!(: I'll go ahead and update my Flying one now. (Note: I don't nickname my Pokemon). Trainer name: Lukeroa [Luk-er-o-a] Rival name: Juggalo My name is a mix of my name, Luke, and my favorite band, UnderØath. Hence my Profile name "LukerØath". So, as my rival I decided to take something from music I hate. Therefore Juggalo was perfect, as I have a great distaste for ICP. ANYWAYS!!! This is a Flying type one of course so, I picked Charmander!(: Immediately caught Spearow, Pidgey, and Butterfree.(: Grinded out some intense training to have them all at level 10 BEFORE my fight with Juggalo going toward the E4. Defeated him easily using only Spearow. Any ideas on the other two Pokemon I should add to the party? CURRENTLY: Charmander, Pidgey, Spearow, and Butterfree. |
Unfortunately, you can't do use Primape in a ground challenge, because he is fighting type, and not ground. If you do a ground challenge, you have to only use ground pokemon. now, you could use a Primape as an HM slave, but I don't know why you would do something like that to yourself, too much training for nothing. I'll go ahead and put you down for flying, and if you want to still do ground (or fighting if you really want to use the Primape) go ahead and post it again, and I'll sign you up for that one too. On that note, I'm done organizing it, so bear with me for a few minutes while I make a new thread. Anyone wishing to sign up for the challenge, kindly do so in the new thread.
Edit: Also, you should use a Gyarados. Its worth it. My flying type monorun has: Charizard: Flamethrower, Rock Slide, Slash Gyarados: Surf, Earthquake, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt Butterfree: Psychic Pidgeot: Fly |
I've never done this before, but it sounds fun!
I'll go grass for this first time! Doing it in Red. I'll update a bit later! EDIT: First Update. <3 Started: 12:05 on April 29th. -Picked Bulbasaur -Rival Battle #1; Beat Rival -Went to Viridian, Got Package back to Oak, Pokedex -Back in Viridian headed to Route 2 Time: 0:13. Pokemon: 1 -Bulbasaur: Tackle, Growl, and Leech Seed. LVL 8. Will do more tomorrow. :) |
EDIT: Yeah this post is kinda scattered, try to bare with it. =P
Joined this forum because this sounded fun. Doing Ground. I'll update with info when I get home, but here's the team I expect to have when I've completed my run. (I know there's no genders in B/R but I like to believe. lol) Marowak - Rex - M Cubone - Wishy (short for Wishbone) - F Sandslash - Tsume - F Rhydon - Rye - M Going for style rather then efficiency on this one. Thus explaining my Cubone and Rhydon not evolving. I may have to evolve my Rhydon for Surf though. Anyway, four Pokemon team, with one HM dork. Current Team however... Nidorino Sandslash Onix Just flying through until I can start accumulating some of my final team pokemon. Just took out Surge. Going to grab a Diglette next. |
Guys, if you haven't noticed, this thread is inactive. Go post on the other one.
