It's like what one of my freinds said to me when I came out to him; "how can you be sure when you've never had a girl?" so I told him "how can you be sure?! You've never been with a guy, and yet you just know that you're straight don't you!"
(we've had a lot of wierd conversations xD)

Sounds like a normal convo to me. x]

Or it could be that said reletive influences you personally, as opposed to a gene.

Reported for trolling and constantly trying to subvert our thread ♥

Hetrophobia?! I fail to see where this is coming from, as it's YOU pushing your ideas onto us.

Well, when I'm told I can't post because I'm not LBG or T, I can't help but notice that is pure discrimination.

The Fame Monster April 7th, 2010 10:35 AM

anyone who says fox isnt allowed here is just stupid. =( fox is allowed here all the time who cares if he's straight.

the amount of heterophobia in todays world is disgusting!!! cant we all just realize that heterosexuality is just fine?

Shiny April 7th, 2010 10:35 AM

You're allowed to post here, this isn't a club, merely a thread for various discussions. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know themselves.

Just saying, I haven't read the other posts so I'm going in somewhat blind here.

As the majority, you're not allowed to have pride because you've earned nothing. Gay Pride, and thus, LGBT groups, exists because of our struggle to rise above the discrimination, violence and social pressures. We're earned our pride. Stop being a troll, stop being an idiot. Why don't you go and preach "White power!" at a Black Pride Parade and see how far it gets you?

To clarify; straight people can post here as much as they want - but Fox has been essentially trying to subvert the thread since he started posting here.

It's not that you cant post because you're not LGBT, but you can't just say that this or that influences or makes a person homosexual.

AimayBee April 7th, 2010 10:38 AM

LGBT people usually have a period of their life where they believe what they are is wrong because the norm is to like men or woman etc.

The ideals of the heterosexual world are pushed onto LGBT people and it actually hurts them mentally. And sometimes pyshically.

Honestly, as an individual, what the hell have you ever done to earn that pride? You were born with different prefences, well done, good on you, I really wish I could of being born as s...Oh wait, I was.

Honest to god that's like me saying I can have pride in being blonde because people percieve blondes as stupid. Milk, earnt his place, Martin Luther King, earnt his place, Nelson Mandela earnt his place. But you? You are no different to me, stop trying to use what you are as some kind of social tool.

Kon~ April 7th, 2010 10:42 AM

Hold up here, people. Are you having a go at Fox for having an opinion? Isn't opinion part of how a discussion progresses?

And just to put my foot into all your theories - I have no LGBT relatives, no one close to me is LGB or T, and yet I am bisexual [NOT to be read 'confused'. I most certainly am bi].

Explain that with your ideas. I have never been mentally or physically forced towards a certain sexuality, I've had the most normal and mundane upbringing ever, and yet I know that I am bisexual.

[And not many other people do] ~♪

EDIT: Plus, long time readers may remember my spat with Fox before, but now I've come to the point where I'm defending him - what does that make you feel about yourselves? (no offence, Fox)

It's because my opinion differs from theres and is therefore wrong.

bianca is transgendered, am i correct? well people who are transgendered go through so much torture from people around them for acting how they feel. yet they continue to act that way as it makes them happy. it makes them full. any transgendered person who doesnt give in to the homophobia and hate that society projects at them, even more towards them than other gay people, automatically earns that pride.

so even though you weren't asking me i think i was able to answer?

I've said this before and I'll say it again; pride as the direct opposite of shame isn't the same as standalone pride.

Thats VERY true, when I first realised I was gay, I was so used to the 'norm', I thought that I could just hide it my whole life. It was only until I realised how unhappy I would be that I finally accepted myself, and am very happy I did :)

How about being constantly beat down socially and emotionally, for the vast majority of my teenage years? How about being told I'm a freak so often and so profusely that I began to believe it? How about being driven to *suicide* because I'd be made to believe I was defective for my differences? Yet to rise above that and still be a good person? Yeah, I'd say I've earned the right to say I'm proud to be a transgirl. I did plenty to earn my pride, thanks very much. Try harder.

AimayBee April 7th, 2010 10:47 AM

Noone in this thread is going to agree on everything, people will always have an opinion, i am glad to share my own opinion but only to open minded people.
I'm not saying every LGBT person is tormented, in fact bisexual people ar the ones that are least abused [not to mean beatings and the like but just in general] and that is because people still think bisexual people are just confused and have not met the right person of the opposite sex.
Trolls are not welcome on this thread or this site thoguh and Fox is trolling a lot but he does have an opinion, so he should be allowed to express that in a none trolling manner.

You can't be a segregated majority. You're now treading very thin ice between being a troll, and downright inflammatory. Watch it.

Please don't take this in a harsh way but...

I've grown up overweight. Quite a lot overweight. I've spent years of my life being taunted, ostracised, bullied and teased for my weight. I've self-harmed, had councelling, had three mentors through school after I started bunking off four times a week and I had my suicidal moments. It came to a point where I was being violent in response to bullies, and I was trying to get hurt on purpose.

But I'm not asking for Fat Pride.

Weight can be adjusted. Sexuality cannot. Not that people *choose* to be overweight, but you do *choose* to not take affirmative action to solve the issue. But again, this thread isn't about that. It's about the LGBT scene~

but the vast majority of overweight people are overweight as a result of their actions. people cant really be prideful towards choices.

RocketExec. April 7th, 2010 10:55 AM

Pride is about just being happy with who you are though, and not forcing your views and opinions down other peoples throats. And with all the dicrimination LGB+T have had, I think we all deserve some pride thankyou.

Yeah, because I chose to be fat?! Who in their right mind would choose that? You think I haven't tried to lose weight?

I chose to be overweight as much as anyone here chose to be gay.

Thank you for that very insightful post, Ms. Mini Mod.

I think I'm one of the few who don't think Fox is trolling at all. A difference of opinion is not trolling. Having a discussion based on a difference of opinion is not trolling. Sharing a difference of opinion isn't trolling. Peoples' reactions to these difference of opinions certainly do make it seem like he's trolling, however. But him being a retired staff member who kept their brain after leaving, I'm pretty sure he knows better than that.
