RSE Catch Rate
I saw a catch rate calculation so I tried it, but I don't think it's right. Either that or I'm not using it right. This is the calculation:
((4*TotalHP-2*CurrentHP)*(CatchRate*Ball))/TotalHP+Status=Result There's a randomly chosen number between 0-255 and if this number is lower than the result, the Pokemon will be caught. In my case: ((4*37-2*3)*(45*1))/37+1=173.7 So 173.7 gives me a 68.12% success rate (according to my calculations). Yet I've thrown 40~ Pokeballs and failed to catch the Pokemon every single time. So is this calculation wrong or am I just really, really unlucky? |
The formula you got (from Serebii, I guess?) is wrong, indeed. Check the related Bulbapedia article here for further info.

It will depend on the pokemon. Some had like a 3 catch rate. What Pokemon are you trying to get?
|
Well, if it doesn't work, you're either having hugely bad luck or it is wrong.
Do you have bad luck? So it obviously is wrong. Read this article. |
Oh, I was missing quite a lot. Thanks.
It was a Mawile btw. |
