How would you prefer to have Christmas?

Yeah, Christmas is over, but would you rather swap it with the other hemisphere, so if you're in the southern hemisphere, would you rather have Christmas in winter - so it's ~traditional~ in the words of Siggy? Or if you're in the northern hemisphere, would you rather have Christmas in summer? A nice break from the cool? :D

Basically, if you could swap, would you?

I wouldn't. Jess' points make a lot of sense, but I prefer having Christmas in summer, so it's a nice sunny day. :(

Unforgettable February 27th, 2010 5:09 AM

Why tf did you put that at the bottom? XDDD
But yes, I would rather have Christmas in the winter. The decorations are all snowy and stuff, and Christmas in the summer would just be weird.

Misheard Whisper February 27th, 2010 5:46 AM

I'd rather switch to winter, tbh. I don't do well with heat. And I get to stay inside as well.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ February 27th, 2010 7:37 AM

In the summer. That way, when I have to take the Greyhound bus back home, I don't risk getting snowed in in Cleveland, Ohio like I did during Christmas of '08.

BeachBoy February 27th, 2010 8:33 AM

Winter. I want it excessively cold when Christmas rolls around. D: I live in Florida so my family takes a vacation up north around Christmas, for the cold. XD

Kikaito plush February 27th, 2010 8:39 AM

since Curtis sleeps during the winter time I'd like it in the summer so he could see it..

Ayselipera February 27th, 2010 9:11 AM

I'd keep Christmas the way it is. Which is in the winter time. I can't imagine a hot Christmas.

Christmas in Summer? Sounds weird to me, it's just too much associated with snow and stuff. And that would mean Easter in Autumn, which would be even weirder.

Captain Hobo. February 27th, 2010 10:13 AM

I would like it to be in winter because I like to play in the snow with my family.

Guy February 27th, 2010 10:47 AM

Winter. I rather celebrate Christmas during the time of year that it's cold. Seeing as everything here relates to Christmas during Winter, it just makes sense for me.

Plus, it would be weird. O_o Though, I wouldn't mind experiencing the change at least one time - just to see how it feels.

Comrade Nikita Ivanova February 27th, 2010 11:15 AM

I would much prefer to have it in the winter. I can't imagine it any other way, even though I lived down south for half of my life and should be used to it.

I don't like the heat anyways. Why would I want it to be hot on Christmas Day?

Synaesthesia February 27th, 2010 11:47 AM

I have Christmas in the winter and I much prefer it that way. Something about a warm Christmas is wrong. :( It's just meant to be cold, man.

Eheh, well, I can certainly say I prefer Christmas traditional. Traditional in the sense of the stereotypes, mind you.

I love the merry vibe of Christmas, but I also love the winter atmosphere brought about by that time of year.

Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere?

It's like replacing Santa Claus and his fatherly, plump, winter garmented self with Santasia Clausette, the daughter of St. Nick in a skimpy, Christmas-themed bikini to symbolise summer and fun at the beach. I can see the boys wantin' some of that. ¬_0

I'd rather have Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere, not just for the season and the traditional vibe alone, but because this is my home and where I was born. It would feel odd to adjust to that sort of change at all.

Keep it winter. I think it's really beautiful to have Christmas songs and such when the snow is falling. The atmosphere just seems right, and I don't think I'd rather have it any other way.

It's also been the only way I've celebrated it, so that could be why. But I don't think I'd like it in summer.

mew² February 27th, 2010 5:19 PM

I would rather have it in Winter.
In my opinion, it feels more traditional.

Eliminator Jr. February 27th, 2010 7:20 PM

It's always been a summer Christmas in Australia and that's the way I like it. It's great, there's always a barbeque and backyard cricket and everything. Lots of fun. I couldn't stand a winter Christmas, being stuck inside all cold, no swimming or anything D:

Cherrim February 27th, 2010 7:29 PM

I've only ever once experienced a green Christmas and it was weird. I'm not a huge fan of snow anymore now that it's more inconveniencing than anything but Christmas should be white, imo. :( Maybe once I'd like a Christmas that's hot just for the juxtaposition but probably just the once.

So winter for me.
