Dude! We're in sync!

I've found that I have one person out there in the world who always knows what's going on in my head. It's like we're in sync because most of the time we know what the other is going to say, how they feel, if something's wrong, what they're thinking... everything, it seems.

Do you have someone who can see right through you and read you like an open book even if you may not be that legible and can you do the same to them?

Synaesthesia February 27th, 2010 11:42 AM

Yeah, I do believe so. Probably the best friend I've ever had. Obviously, haha.

Esper February 27th, 2010 11:57 AM

It's 50-50 for me. Half the time I know what my close friends are thinking and feeling, but the other times I'm really off. I think it's the same with me for them or maybe a little harder for them. It's not hard to see that someone is stressed or happy, but knowing why is sometimes a mystery. I've never had someone finish my sentences either.

I like to think it's because we're complex and not because we're bad at reading people.

I can read Curtis like a book and no one else

Signomi February 27th, 2010 12:22 PM

I have that sort of strong connection with one person and one person alone.

That person can also see through me quite easily.

alisaie February 27th, 2010 12:23 PM

Hmm. I don't know myself. But I guess if there was anyone who can read me like an open book, it would be my sister. XD;

Jack O'Neill February 27th, 2010 1:32 PM

There are those who think they can read me like an open book. Too bad for them that the book was written and rewritten multiple times using various forms of encryption.

SquirtleGirl February 27th, 2010 4:09 PM

Well I have one close relationship and he knows exactly what I'm thinking or what I think because he listens to me that darndest bit TOO closely.

I can actually predict exactly what my best friend is about to say to me but maybe thats because what I said was so predictable.

All in all you can pick up on a friends' behavioural patterns and reactions to certain things over time but they can stil surprise you.

Houndoom19 February 27th, 2010 4:28 PM

My sister reads me like a book, it's rather infuriating. -.-'

Legobricks February 27th, 2010 6:06 PM

Nobody seems able to work me out, most likely as I do not have a purpose in life and naturally distance myself from others. My interests are easy enough to gauge, but my emotions and thought process... you can make some generic assumptions based on my gender, sometimes correct ones, but that's all.

I can't read other persons, and don't want to anyway.

Medli February 27th, 2010 6:53 PM

I usually pretty good with other peoples' feelings. Not sure why. On the other hand, most people tell me that it's really hard to tell what I'm feeling. I usually keep my emotions inside. I guess that's not necessarily healthy, but, whatever. I have my reasons for being this way.

But I have a friend who is always "in sync" with me. We're always thinking the same things and we've even done or said stuff at the exact same time. A friend asked us what we thought was the scariest movie from our childhood, and we both said, "Alice in Wonderland," at the exact same time without even looking at each other. I can also tell if she's stressed or whatever.

Cherrim February 27th, 2010 7:20 PM

I actually suck at this. I rarely pick up on how people are feeling and only occasionally notice when something's amiss in someone's personality. (Or at least it takes several interactions with them, especially when it comes to online friends, for me to notice.) Dunno how people are with me though. I like to think I'm pretty good at hiding how I actually feel, though I have actually opened up to people more often in the last few years, so I guess I'm a bit easier to read now. (ie I'll actually... act irritated when I am irritated instead of just being passive aggressive later or something OTL)

So no I don't... think there's really anyone I connect on that level with. :/ Closest I can think of is my best friend since we have almost everything in common but I'm not sure that counts since I only know what he's thinking because I'm always thinking the same thing which isn't very insightful. XD;

My friend John, I swear that we're both telepathic. We can look at each other and simply have a conversation like that.

Zet February 28th, 2010 2:25 AM

I guess Signomi is the only one that can see right through me. She probably knows me better than I know myself. XD

Calder February 28th, 2010 2:40 AM

its called an Empathy Link, you guys spend so much time together you feel the feelings of each other and stuff...rather cool, and useful at times

Idiot! February 28th, 2010 4:07 AM

I haven't met that person yet. I am that difficult to read

Miz en Scène February 28th, 2010 5:50 AM

The first thing that popped up in my head when I saw the thread title was:

Anyway, not many people can read me so easily...
