Find a league near you and see about trading for 2 more Roseanne's and a playset of either Pokemon Communicator (HGSS) or Bebe's Search. You'll probably have to trade an arm and a leg to get them, though, and it may be more cost efficient to buy the Platinum set theme deck that comes with two Roseanne's. You will also want to look into getting a few Professor Oak's New Theory (HGSS).

I may have a better critique ready when I am not pressed for time on my lunch break.

Shadowstorm March 8th, 2010 7:54 PM

I have like 4 Poke Communicators, I have the full HGSS set (2 ho-ohs, 2 lugias, 6 red gyarados, 4 alphs, 3 jumpluff and multiples of most of the primes)

Reason I'm only using 2 Roseanne is because of all the other stuff already in the deck, if it were 70 card deck I'd definitely want to be putting the stuff to pull pokes with, and most of the pokepulling is good to go once i have sunflora on the bench, will allow me to grab any grass poke out of my deck each turn, which'll have shaymin lv x out once i get a level max going.

donavannj March 8th, 2010 8:02 PM

I don't think that the HGSS Ampharos is that good. I think you should drop it.

Also, it'd be nice to know the purpose of the deck. Can't do much critiquing if I don't know what your objective is.

Shadowstorm March 8th, 2010 9:09 PM

I have the ampharos to pump energies onto my ho-oh and other cards and if not needed for that just a 120 hp'd poke to do 80 dmg with.

Main purpose of deck is basically to kill, the shaymin's there to do damage and have high health running on Grass types, ho-oh legend's there for quick kills as is jumpluff I'm actually debating on maybe throwing another DCE in there since there are 2 ho-oh legend sets in there.

If I had access to a Garchomp Lv X I'd probably be using Lugia Legend instead.

the shaymin lv x sky forme is ther to combo with electivire fb lv x's 30+ attack.

donavannj March 8th, 2010 9:19 PM

I still think there are too many evolution lines for it to be effective, and if you are running that Ampharos, you would want something to pull it up to your hand, as well.

Shadowstorm March 8th, 2010 10:02 PM

well the Sunflora takes care of my grass evo lines and X lines with its body or power or whatev, and the rest is done via the trainers that let me pull pokes.

In all honesty if I had the cards I would probably run a Garchomp Lv X x2 and Lugia Legend x2 deck with 2 ampharos (so i can plop energies onto the lugias and then bring the lugias back once killed already set to kill again XD)

I'm thinking of killing the Amphy Line for 3 more trainers or something.

Rocket_Executive March 9th, 2010 5:49 PM

I agree with Donavannj here, the more evolution lines you add to your deck the less focused it becomes, and you don't leave yourself much room for supporters. I think you should consider Bebe, personally I think it's a staple in any deck.

Where I play, Bebe is a staple in every deck.

Same, I wouldn't run any less than four.

Shadowstorm March 9th, 2010 8:45 PM

I dunno, If i were to run any more search for poke cards I'd run more Roseanne's since they do basically the same thing. I'll consider it while I look at what to replace Amphy with since I have decided to ditch him and his family.

Rocket_Executive March 9th, 2010 8:59 PM

The key thing about Bebe though is that you can search for any Pokemon at all, while Roseanne limits you to only basic ones. Your opponent will be trying to evolve their Pokemon as quickly as possible, probably using Bebe and rare candy, and if you can't get those evolution cards in your hand right away they'll get their heavy-hitting Pokemon out there faster.

Running 4 Roseanne's and 4 Bebe's would work wonders for your draw power, and you'd get the same recommendation at least 90% of the time from anyone who has been to a few tournaments. Roseanne's pulls basic energy and basic Pokemon, while Bebe's allows you to get their evolutions, the Primes, and the Level Xs, and maybe a basic if you absolutely need it. I'd also recommend acquiring at least a 1-1 line of Claydol (Great Encounters) for its Cosmic Power Poke-Body.

Shadowstorm March 9th, 2010 9:09 PM

Yeah I guess, so far out of my deck I've removed 4 cards, the Ampharos line being 3 and one of the 3 Expert Belts (I re-read the card details and was like eh... not 3, but 2's good XD) so I've got 4 slots open and I'm trying to think of good trainers to put in... will probably do 2 bebe's and a roseanne and then I dunno for the 4th...

would a looker's investigation fit well there or do you have another idea in mind? (you can modify the trainer sets any way you like as long as it sticks to the modified rules and stuff)

EDIT: I've removed 2 Lightning Energies and added another Grass energy since I dont need that many except for Electivire. so I've got 5 slots to fill.

Rocket_Executive March 9th, 2010 9:15 PM

Put in Professor Oak's new theory instead of looker if you want that, you get to draw 6 cards instead of 5.

donavannj March 9th, 2010 9:17 PM

Well, Looker's is pretty good... better than Copycat and better than Cynthia's, since those are both moderately unpredictable. I still like Professor Oak's New Theory better, though.

Shadowstorm March 9th, 2010 9:17 PM

Oh yeah XD I forgot about my butt-ton of PONT cards I have from the 2 Pre-Releases I went to and the crudload of boosters I've obtained XD (I actually only have 2 Prof Oaks, 2 being Rev-Holo XD)

Hm... so 1 more roseanne, 2 bebe's and a claydol line?

EDIT: I have 4 Oaks, 2 being Rev Holo

donavannj March 9th, 2010 9:23 PM

Yes, run PONT. It's an amazing refresher. I'd run 2 more Roseanne's, personally, but that's your choice to not run a playset. I'd also run more Bebe's, but, again, it's your deck. And yes, you want the Claydol line. Maybe Uxie (Legends Awakened), too. You want a lot of draw power in your deck.

Evolution decks also may want to run the Chatot that has Mimic. Can't remember what set that is, though. :\

Shadowstorm March 9th, 2010 9:27 PM

Hmmm, I see, but what would I need to remove though to run all those, I have only 5 slots available atm after removing the Ampharos line, 2 e energies, and 1 expert belt and putting 1 more grass energy in.

donavannj March 9th, 2010 9:47 PM

If you get another Electivire FB Level X, you could do without Palmer's Contribution. And which Land Shaymin from Plat are your running - the foil or the non-foil(non-foil has Energy Blow)?

Shadowstorm March 9th, 2010 10:06 PM

er... I'm running the one withe the blow thing, I think i know what you're thinking though, but if i remove my electivires i only have at that point 6 basic pokemon in my entire deck. I probably could do without 1 palmer though... so there's 6 slots... 1 less rare candy now i guess too so 7 slots...

oh i have 2 Night maitences with the palmers... hm... remove 1 NM and there's 8 slots... so Claydol, Baltoy, 1 more Roseanne, 3 Bebe 2 Oak?

donavannj March 9th, 2010 10:12 PM

I meant you could add an Electivire FB or two, especially of the Lv. X You probably want to keep both NM's in.

Of course, there's alway ditching the Ho-oh LEGEND cards and putting some other Pokemon in there instead. I mean, giving 2 prizes away from an 140 HP Pokemon? Yuck! But that's just my opinion.

Shadowstorm March 9th, 2010 10:14 PM

Ho-oh Legend doesn't give 2 prizes away, the Dual-Legend ones do.*

donavannj March 9th, 2010 10:18 PM

Really? I could have sworn that it gave up two prizes, and that was one of the reasons that it wasn't being run at my league. I can't find anything on it either way, though. :\

Shadowstorm March 9th, 2010 10:20 PM

Well I know the Suicune Entei and Raikou ones do give 2 prizes because they have a bit more HP and their attacks are a bit more less energy-draining. And it makes sense because there are 2 pokemon within one legend set as opposed to the Ho-oh Lugia ones being only 1 poke per Legend.

EDIT: Here's the current list now:

2x Jumpluff HGSS
2x Skiploom HGSS
2x Hoppip HGSS
2x Ho-oh Top HGSS
2x Ho-oh Bottom HGSS
2x Sunkern HGSS
1x Sunflora HGSS
2x Shaymin (Land) Platinum Base
1x Shaymin Lv X (sky) Platinum Base
1x Shaymin Lv X (Land) Platinum Base
2x Electivire FB Platinum Supreme Victors
1x Electivire FB Lv X Platinum Supreme Victors
3x Rare Candy DP: Great Encounters
2x Expert Belt Platinum Arceus
1x Palmer's Contribution Platinum Supreme Victors
2x Level Max Platinum Base
1x Snowpoint Temple DP: Legends Awakened
2x Night Maitenence DP: Secret Wonders
1x Poke'radar DP: Legends Awakened
2x Warp Point DP: Majestic Dawn
3x Super Scoop Up DP: Majestic Dawn
2x Roseanne's Research DP: Secret Wonders
2x Pokemon Collector HGSS
3x DCE HGSS
2x Electric HGSS
8x Grass HGSS

1x Baltoy
1x Claydol
2x Bebe's Reasearch
2x Prof Oak's New Theory

donavannj March 9th, 2010 10:40 PM

Looks solid, but remind me what Snowpoint Temple does for you, please.

Shadowstorm March 9th, 2010 10:52 PM

+20 hp for all basic pokes, so it basically is there to help Electivire, Ho-oh, and Shaymin with their health. It'd be even more beastly if i were running it on a grass deck with garchomp x bringing stuff back and then the shaymin lvl X +40 hp XD

donavannj March 9th, 2010 10:54 PM

You could think about swapping out either that or the Jumpluff line, though you don't have to if you don't want to. Test it out at some leagues. (b'-')b

Shadowstorm March 9th, 2010 11:00 PM

swapping out what or the jumpluff line? and there's 2 jumpluff lines for when there's full benches or close enough to it so i can do quickkills (I'm gonna abuse that jumpluff thing til it's no longer cool)

donavannj March 10th, 2010 1:03 PM

It's time to test it out at a league or two and see how it runs.

Shadowstorm March 10th, 2010 9:38 PM

Sadly I won't get to test it til the night before the Tourny seeing as I'm going to be borrowing most of the non-HGSS cards from a friend and we're not meeting up til the Friday Night after I get out of work, from there We're going to swing by my house, pick up my cards, go to a taco bell, build the deck, do some testing, and then drive down and probably buy a few boosters along the way... I think I do see a couple mods though that I can do. I'll go look at it and think about it.

donavannj March 10th, 2010 9:46 PM

That sounds like a plan. I myself have to talk with the main trader in my area before the 20th.

FurretFTW!!1! March 11th, 2010 5:58 PM

XP What a clucky deck. Either run Jumpluff (bad) or Ho-Oh (worse)

Ima show you a random Jumpluff deck. I can't build very good stage 2 decks, sadly, but it wil hopefully work.

Pokemon: 25
4 Jumpluff GS
3 Skiploom SW (IDK; it doesn't matter too much)
4 Hoppip SW (Freetreat)
4 Pichu GS (I think this card is fine for this deck; if your opponent has a Mr. Mime, they'll eventually get it out, anyways ;f)
2 Claydol GE
2 Baltoy GE
2 Shaymin Lv.X PL-126 (Thankfulness)
2 Shaymin PL-14 (The Damage Aid one)
1 Uxie LA
1 Unown [G] GE

Trainers: 26
2 Expert Belt
4 Roseanne's Research
3 Bebe's Search
3 Broken Time-Space (I just think it's needed a lot =\)
1 Luxury Ball
4 Pokemon Communicator
4 PokeDrawer+
4 Rare Candy
1 Night Maintenance

Energy: 9
5 Grass Energy
4 Call Energy

I think this should work... XP

donavannj March 11th, 2010 9:40 PM

Yeah, that could definitely work... if States in Ohio weren't this Saturday, based on what the OP said.

FurretFTW!!1! March 12th, 2010 11:53 AM

So why doesn't this work...? ;p

He doesn't have time to go build it, of course. It looks like it'd be amazing otherwise.
