Something New I Noticed...

I noticed that in stats, the game shows what stats are affected by your Pokemon's Nature!

Red is the increased stat, blue is the decreased. Just letting you all know.

Opinions on this new discovery?

Panique March 16th, 2010 9:58 AM

Oh yeah, I heard about this from someone else. What does it show for natures that increase and decrease the same stat?

It's nifty. Won't have to check online for natures.

Sora's Nobody March 16th, 2010 9:59 AM

That sounds Awesome! yay... :)

iRawr March 16th, 2010 10:09 AM

That sounds really cool can't wait to take a look at it :]

GlitchCity March 16th, 2010 10:23 AM

I noticed the colours on the stat names, but I didnt know what they meant. Thanks for sharing that. Now I need to buy drugs for my scizor lol

Muffin™ March 16th, 2010 10:33 AM

off topic: Nintendo has gone way too far in this game... but in a good way!

on topic: Yea, I noticed that when I first got it. I was like "Why the heck is there blue and red stats?" but then when I got to the first gym I found out :D

Panfisha March 16th, 2010 10:36 AM

Mine don't have that for some reason. Their stats are all black.

Maybe they all have...Neutral Natures?

Panfisha March 16th, 2010 10:45 AM

Can't be, I have quirky, modest, gentle, and sassy natures.

Hmm... well there ARE a little hard to see (the colors), so check again :P

TheGearofWar March 16th, 2010 11:08 AM

I heard about this a long time ago, actually, I just haven't really paid any attention to it.

They are kinda hard to see imo

linkinpark187 March 16th, 2010 11:14 AM

I did notice they were a bit faint, but i was wondering why that was. I noticed it in the Japanese game, but at the time didn't think anything of it. How interesting... But good interesting! :D

shuppet88 March 16th, 2010 11:19 AM

Thanks for illuminating this. I was wondering what the heck the blue and red letters were for!

Esmas March 16th, 2010 11:48 AM

Sounds like a neat feature. Thanks for telling me, now I don't have to waste time searching the web for natures :D

No nature raise and lower the same stat...the ones that raise none are left all white...

LOL your looking at the color of the number Panfisha...look at the stat's name instead...

I just noticed this today...never looked at the stats closely until today and I was like woah...thats helpful

ChrisTom March 18th, 2010 5:45 AM

Actually this has been around since the third Generation in Ruby/Sapphire. They just didn't show the stats differences. But yes this has been around for a loooong time. I always found Timid interesting. And of course there are some Natures which don't affect anything at all, like Quirky.

You can find more about this topic on Bulbapedia under Natures.

Chary March 18th, 2010 8:17 AM

I...I don't understand where this is shown. Is it where it says Hp Attack ect. Or is it on the stat number, because everything on all my pokemon shows balack and white...

Neutral natures 'raise and lower the same stat'. There's one for each stat. That's why there are so many neutral natures.

I just stated above where it is...its the names...if you have a nature that had a raised and lowered stat the name is changed in color...its rather simple...don't make it harder than it is.

They just don't boost or lower any stat...doesn't mean they boost and lower the same stat...plus it doesn't event matter its the same ****ing thing anyways...

Morkula March 18th, 2010 8:33 AM

I just noticed this last night, and only after David pointed it out. It's so faint that you can barely see it unless you're looking for it. But it really is a nice feature - now there's no running to Bulbapedia whenever I get a nature that I can't remember which stats it affects. XD

Midnight Jog March 18th, 2010 10:02 AM

What're you talking about? D; All of the EV stats are the same as they are in every other Pokemon game?

We arent talking about EVs or IVs for that matter...did you read the thread before posting?

Gamefreaked March 18th, 2010 7:54 PM

Nice find :]
This is gonna come in handy for the EV training cause now I don't have to go check the Nature right away on some guide or something.
Can't believe I didn't notice that yet.

Yusshin March 18th, 2010 8:12 PM

Blue is decreased.
Red is increased.
No colour? Neutral nature.

I noticed this in the Jap' version, but what I wonder is: why is Red the increase? Red is such a negative colour.

I personally think blue should have been increased and red, decreased.
