There is a Young Couple you can register on Route 13 and Twins you can register on Route 15.

Amore April 9th, 2010 12:09 PM

Ummm....

....how do you get Zapdos to appear??

On my last runthrough, I did that quest thingy, but Zapdos never appeared.

Also, when do the Elite Four get stronger?Do you battle them after you've defeated Blue/Green?Or do you have to battle Red first?

Thingula April 9th, 2010 12:10 PM

What's the best area to train my Pokémon from level 35-40 to 45-50? I'm having trouble because there isn't a VS Seeker, and not everyone gives their phone number.

Thanks in advance :),
-Chris

Amore April 9th, 2010 12:14 PM

Have you reached Victory Road?

Wild pokemon in there are around lv.35, and the ace trainer right in front of the entrance, Jamie, has a Rapidash and Ampharos, lv.37, and is rebattleable today (friday).

jolteon. April 9th, 2010 12:15 PM

Thanks for that. : D
I don't thin k I have the ones on route 15 registered yet. -goes and registers them-

インフェルノの津波 April 9th, 2010 12:16 PM

WHOA NELLY!

@ Amore: You must get all 16 Gym Badges.

@ Chris: Victory Road would be your best bet.

Also, I recommend you go to Serebii or Bulbapedia to find out when some Trainers can battle you.

Rocket Executive Josh April 9th, 2010 12:17 PM

What type is Gym 4? If it's ghost them Togepi Evolution is inevitable.

Battle 2nd round E4 After Blue, but before Red

Correct, it's ghost, but the leader doesn't use a Togepi evolution (if that's what you were implying).

インフェルノの津波 April 9th, 2010 12:20 PM

@ Josh: He's Ghost, so be sure to get a Ghost-type or Dark Type or get a Pursuit Raticate to beat him, because Morty. IS. TOUGH.

If you have Croconaw, I highly recommend teaching him Shadow Claw, or just stick with Bite.

No I meant my Togepi will be used loads and probably evolve cause it knows extrasensory, whuch is perfect on the Ghastly, Haunters and Gengars, which I'd expect them to have a lot of in there.

Thanks though.

jigglyppuff8 April 9th, 2010 12:28 PM

It's actually their Poison type that makes Psychic type Super Effective and not their Ghost type, but still. Go for it!

Well no ****

Hes asking If he should use Togepi evolution....and yes feel free to use a Togepi evolution, just Watch out for Morty's Gengar. It can use "Sucker Punch" on you so watch out and bring some Extra Potions if you feel the need to.

Amore April 9th, 2010 12:36 PM

Thanks for that guys!

Ummm....how do I unlock Latios (seeing as I have SoulSilver) to roam around Kanto?

インフェルノの津波 April 9th, 2010 12:39 PM

When you have the National Dex, exit the Vermillion Pokemon Fan Club Steven Stone will tell you that Latios Latias is roaming Kanto/Johto.

jolteon. April 9th, 2010 12:43 PM

That's from an event. You have to wait for the event to be available. I think it's the enigma crystal (?) item. thing.
?_____?;

jigglyppuff8 April 9th, 2010 12:45 PM

Enigma Crystal works like the Eon ticket in that it lets you get the other [email protected] HGSS is like R/S in that they already give you a [email protected] in the way described.

FireApe2135 April 9th, 2010 12:46 PM

Only the other one is unlocked with the enigma stone, so as long as that one is in the specific game, then you can catch it via what the guy three posts above me said.

Kauai April 9th, 2010 12:59 PM

I set my location as Belize

...Am I going to come to regret this?

I did it so I could trade pokemon between my Platinum and SS more easily.

Is this going to wreck up mystery gift for instance? It was a scary afterthought...

jolteon. April 9th, 2010 1:03 PM

Oh~. I didn't know that. :U
well I learned something new. 8D

jigglyppuff8 April 9th, 2010 1:11 PM

Doing that won't affect the region coding of the games themselves, so you should still be able to receive Mystery Gifts from your appropriate region and the like.

Also, Belize is part of North America anyway, so it wouldn't really have any effect. :P

Even if you changed it to something like Australia, Afghanistan Great Britain, or Japan, it wouldn't have any effect.

Kauai April 9th, 2010 1:13 PM

-Deep breath-

Thank you! =D

^.hydro April 9th, 2010 1:30 PM

Ok Celebi? What event is that? When is it? How does it work?

jigglyppuff8 April 9th, 2010 1:39 PM

Currently there is no date set for release anywhere.

Basically, Nintendo will release a Fateful Encounter Celebi sometime in the future. Taking it to Ilex Forest will trigger an event that will take you back in time 3 years.

Spoiler:
Because they are.
Spoiler:
First you see Giovanni on Route 22 along with your rival. The two argue and backstory is revealed.

Then, you go ahead 3 years to the near present and have a battle against Giovanni who heard the radio signal and is about to come back and join Team Rocket. You battle him and he stops.

Or are you talking about something else completely?

Gulpin April 9th, 2010 1:57 PM

This is just kinda a random thought, but what if you tried to use and evolutionary stone on a Pokemon holding an everstone? (will it have the 'It will have no effect' message?)

jigglyppuff8 April 9th, 2010 1:58 PM

The Pokemon will still evolve anyway. Guess Everstone only affects leveling up + trade evolutions.

Ignoring the unneeded comments above [which by the way have been removed], you battle Red at the top of Mt. Silver after defeating the Elite Four. If you're referring to Blue however, whom is the Gym Leader of Vermillion City, then you can only challenge him after you've defeated the first 15 Gyms. After, you meet him on Cinnabar Island [at least what's left of it], talk to him, and he'll leave. You go back to Vermillion City and he'll be there.

If you're talking about Gym Leader rematches, and want to have a rematch with Blue, then I believe looking at Serebii's site on all the Gym Leader re-battles will help you out a bit. [link]

Forbidden1 April 9th, 2010 6:48 PM

You mean Viridian City not Vermillion City. ;)

Astrotastic:D April 9th, 2010 8:37 PM

what can you get on the wifi mystery gift?
because all i got was the yellow forest and that seemed pretty anticlimactic...
i mean i love surfing pikachu and all but that doesn't seem like that would be it

John-117 April 9th, 2010 8:51 PM

Arceus?

So in SS and HG, they have this Arceus event. I traded my Arceus from Diamon to SS before defeating Elite four. What I need to have the Arceus event.

Toxicroak April 9th, 2010 9:07 PM

it needs to be an faithful encounter or it needs to be obtained above spear pillar. if it is just go to the ruins of alph with arceus in the first slot of your party then go in the house and a man should pop out and the event will start.

next time use the Q&A thread.

chillxd April 9th, 2010 9:11 PM

Actually you need the Movie Arceus... :P

But the event also worked for an Arceus caught in the Hall of Origins. ;)

chillxd April 9th, 2010 9:13 PM

^

That's actually for the Pokewalker. Then you go on there and when you get 10000 steps, you have a chance of getting a Surfing/Flying Pikachu. D:

Various events come out over the year on Wi-Fi. Most of the events are Pokémon, but some are routes, like the Yellow Forest route, and some are items which will enable you to get Pokémon that are in the game, but that you can't reach. Here is a list of the current and upcoming events for each region.

John-117 April 9th, 2010 9:18 PM

faithful encountered? you mean I have to catch it in the wild? not by trading?

faithful encounter means its from some sort of event, so if you hacked it it wont work

Ninja Caterpie April 9th, 2010 9:28 PM

Yes, hacked Event Pokémon DO work. D:

I actually got Giratina and Dialga from a hacked Event Arceus and Hall Of Origins Arceus.

Try this:
1. Have you talked to Prof. Oak?
2.Have you already faced him? Are you wanting to face him again?

If you are facing him again, you need to beat the E4 and go back. Also, try getting the GB Sounds, before you go see him. I don't know if that will work, because I got the GB Sounds (GB Player in my game) before I faced him.

Wrong I havent Beaten 2nd round E4 or gotten the gba player and still beat Red 1st

all you have to do to get to Red is Beat the 16 gyms , go to the peak of mt silver and batttle him, I Guess He was not there cause it was the wrong room, you have to be at the very top of the mountain

Anything, really. Level an Eevee with Adaptability, give it a Silk Scarf, level to around 40, and use Return constantly. It'll OHKO everything; that's how I beat him.

Any in-game team can beat anything pretty much :s

It's actually Mt. Mortar where Tyrogre can be found. You receive it when you defeat the Karate King, found by taking the middle entrance and following the path down to the basement. Once you defeat him, he'll give you a level ten Tyrogre.

To get Hitmonchan, raise Tyrogre to level twenty, making sure that the Pokemon's Defense stat is higher than the Attack stat. When Tyrogre evolves, you should get Hitmonchan.

Sky Form Shaymin?

I traded over a Shaymin I got from a friend in Diamond over to HG. I know in diamond you could not get him to go into sky form, but in platinum you could. So I'm guessing he can change forms in HG/SS also. If he can, then how do I do that?

The final two Unown are in the Entrance Cave, the one with Cameron the Photographer.

The final two (! & ?) are in a secret area, just behind the entrance to the main hall (where cameron the photographer stands). This is opened after all 26 are registered on the Unown Report and shown to one of the researchers. Are you sure you got the Unown report?

How do I soft reset in SoulSilver?

helloimkaley April 10th, 2010 1:25 PM

If someone can please help me, that'd be great. I'm really about to punch something. Or maybe just chuck my DS across the room.

I can't use my squirtbottle. I have no idea why. I've beaten the Goldenrod Gym, visited the flower lady and got my bottle, just when I go to use it on the Pokemon blocking my bath to route 37, there are no options. Only thing I can do with the squirtbottle is move it to another spot in my key items pocket.

Did I miss something? Am I really that stupid? I have the strategy guide and it says nothing extra of what I've done. Nor did I get anything useful upon googling it.

Please help. I'll probably end up feeling like a complete ignoramus and missed something simple. But I'm completely lost as to what it could be.

You can catch Ursaring in Victory Road, then breed it. :P

TrilbyMenetti April 10th, 2010 1:54 PM

This may have been asked already, but is there a decent place to train/grind after the eighth gym, but before beating the Kimino Girls and catching Ho-Oh? I would train in Kanto around Victory Road, but that silly little Lyra girl (anyone else hate her?) won't let me surf. I'm only asking this, as I seem to be loosing against the Girls' Jolteon and it's pretty embarrassing.

Any replies would be much appreciated.

Really? Bummer... They should've kept it the same as in GSC, since it'd have been a great way to get some EXP. D:

Anyway, dunno if anyone asked this, but I'm wondering, does anyone know if they carried over the "abilities have out-of-battle effects" thing from Emerald into D/P/Pt, and subsequently HG/SS? HeartGold is the first game I'm playing for the 4th gen due to it being a remake and all, and I'm hatching an egg, so I'm hoping I can still use Flame Body or...that other one...to make it hatch quicker. >_>;

Press Select+Start+L+R to soft reset in HGSS.

Also, I don't think you can, since you would require a level-up to apply the new stats :s

It's actually possible to "EV train" a level 100 Pokémon, but not fully. I put EV train in quotations because the only way you can actually EV train it is through giving it vitamins. So it is possible to a degree, but only up to 100 EVs for each stat.

I really want to get to the second challenge because I want to catch a Larvitar for my team.
Thanks.
Anna.

He doesn't call you back for the 2nd part til after you give amparos the medicine at the lighthouse. Then after you board the fast ship SS, he calls you about the items in the zones.

And no, nothing will be affected.

Bring your Shaymin to Goldenrod's flower shop, then you get the Gracidea.

Okay I have the case of the Suicune that won't appear. I've seen it all the times I am supposed to I've dropped off the gear in the Power Plant and Misty is back in her gym and still no Suicune. Anyone know what I might have missed. I double checked the sightings list and I've seen all of them including the one on Route 14.

Defeat Red, talk to Prof. Oak, then you will find Suicune.

Anyway, dunno if anyone asked this, but I'm wondering, does anyone know if they carried over the "abilities have out-of-battle effects" thing from Emerald into D/P/Pt, and subsequently HG/SS? HeartGold is the first game I'm playing for the 4th gen due to it being a remake and all, and I'm hatching an egg, so I'm hoping I can still use Flame Body or...that other one...to make it hatch quicker. >_>;

Yeah...just a repost...kinda want to get on with getting a Spore/False-Swiping Scyther...

Yes, Flame Body works.
How the heck does Scyther learn spore?

Ah, okay, thanks. Just wasn't sure, is all. (BTW, since I can't remember it atm, any idea what the other one was?)

Assuming the 4th gen didn't change anything, by breeding a male Paras/Parasect that knows it with Scyther. Did that back in GSC to make getting Raikou and Entei easier, lol.

So I beat Pryce in Mahogany, took care of the radio there as well, caught the red gyrados, etc. But when I go to Goldenrod City, Team Rocket has yet to take over. As far as I know, the radio tower takeover is the next thing to do. Help?

This is not necessary for Suicune to appear.

@Star Girl : I'm sure you missed Suicune somewhere... try to check Serebii.

K30 April 10th, 2010 11:41 PM

Yeah, shut down the transmitter with the other guy that was running around in there.

EDIT: I've gone through the underground in Goldenrod and the Team Rocket guy that I get the uniform from isn't there.

EDIT2: Guess I forgot to do the Lighthouse in Olivine, so that is probably holding me up.

The other one was Magma Armor.
No, Scyther can't learn Spore anymore. Or Scizor would be completely broken. Go with Parasect or Breloom or Smeargle.

Are Champion Ribbons given out to Pokemon who beat the Elite Four in Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver?

I would train in Kanto around Victory Road, but that silly little Lyra girl (anyone else hate her?) won't let me surf. I'm only asking this, as I seem to be loosing against the Girls' Jolteon and it's pretty embarrassing.

Any replies would be much appreciated.

Can anyone at all answer my question please?
