I don't know about the Yellow Forest in particular, but I noticed that when I send the same Pokemon type but different Pokemon (eg: Furret 1 vs Furret 2) into the Pokewalker, their encounters have been different on the same course.

For instance, in Town Outskirts, with Furret 1, I ran into a bunch of Furrets while with Furret 2 I ran into a bunch of Rattatas. However in both instances, I ran into Voltorbs and no Abras.

I would guess that perhaps Yellow Forest might be the same way?

Ava100 April 23rd, 2010 8:18 PM

I have collected all 26 Unown and I talked to the guy to update my Unown Report but when I go into the hall and click A on the wall at the back nothing happens. How do I get ? Unown and ! Unown ?

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out.

FinalMaster April 23rd, 2010 9:07 PM

I can't find the Sacred Ash in battle! Is it just that I accidentally sold my 2 trump cards, or are they just non-battle items? I'm kinda up to Red's last pokemon, and all I have left is my LV 60 Ninetales and 21 revives. IMPORTANT!

EDIT: Never mind, I just beat Red. Sorry, make that, "Beat Red, but with LEVEL 60's!

jon328 April 23rd, 2010 9:21 PM

how do i get to that cave in the ruins of alph?? O.O

Did you unlock all four secret chambers in the back too? If not, you need to do so.

Mt. Silver. You'll need Surf, Waterfall, and Rock Climb.

I'm in blackthorn now. I'm training my pokemons for fighting Clair.
to what level should I train my team.
-Dragonair (Stardust) lv 34
-Vamp (Crobat) lv 33
-Nano (Growlithe) lv 35
-Crock Feraligatr lv 36
-Ampere (Electrabuzz) lv 35
-Vui (Espeon) lv 35

My plan was training them to lv 36-38 but maybe I should get them to lv 40.
Do you guys have some extra tips before knocking on Clair's door.

i would recommend training yr feraligatr upto 37-39 and yr dragonair to at least 38....i beat her with my 36-38 team....use feraligatr's ice fang on the first two dragonairs...gyarados won't be that tough since u have a electrabuzz..and then save yr dragonair for kingdra as it's only weak to dragon.,,.best of luck

Just level up all your pokemon to 40,I say it'd be easier for you to defeat her.

Wasn't Gyrados able to learn Fly in R/S/E? I can swear it was. I can't teach it Fly in HG/SS.

jigglyppuff8 April 24th, 2010 6:58 AM

Gyarados has never been able to learn Fly. Ever.

Trainer battles.
Wild battles at Mt. Silver.
Gym Leader rebattles.
Trade to D/P/Pt.

That's it :s

You could also try rematching the Elite 4 (it's tough, I'll tell you. -.-)

I can assure you, it's after beating Blue. I'm fighting them in training for Red and their levels have been raised considerably, plus they have bigger and more varied teams. I'm currently getting hammered by Bruno's Hariyama.

Has anyone else having problems linking to the GTS. Every time I tried it says it is unable to connect and though it was working last night and now it seems I can't go put pokemon on the GTS.

Heart's Soul April 24th, 2010 8:30 AM

Just placed my Articuno on it, no problems so far. Might be a router problem or counterfeit game cartridges.

Eevee :D

or Ditto harhar

.тαмєя April 24th, 2010 8:41 AM

Hmm that would be great but How do i catch Eevee before the 1st gym xD?

I suppose I could use the Wild Pokemon Modifier? But that's cheating right?

Can't you trade it in in this case? If not, that's lame. There's not a lot of Pokemon before Falkner.

Broken rules are broken.

If you have to choose a before-the-first-gym Pokemon, pick... uhm... Noctowl. Decent Pokemon with decent movepool.

.тαмєя April 24th, 2010 8:46 AM

Yeah but then you just get that Problem of it not obeying you... :(
I think your are allowed to use the pokemon modiferer It's just finding one for SS >.<

Yusshin April 24th, 2010 8:47 AM

Yeah, but it obeys you until Level 9 anyway. My Dratini did when I traded it into my new Pearl game, in any case >_>

If you can use a modifier, use it for Eevee or Ditto.

.тαмєя April 24th, 2010 8:48 AM

Ok thanks ^.-
What do you recommend I Evolve it into?

Heart's Soul April 24th, 2010 8:52 AM

I evolved mine into Umbreon as it can use Psychic, Shadow Ball and so on.

EDIT: Depends on your choice. Special Sweeper? Use Espeon.

The Original Darkwiz787 April 24th, 2010 8:53 AM

Will I be able to experience the entire Kanto, or is Kanto really short and linear?

Heart's Soul April 24th, 2010 8:54 AM

It's incredibly short and linear compared to Johto, but it's interesting and larger than the Knto in GSC.

The whole of Kanto is accessible and explorable, in better quality and graphics than any game before it.

Relatively now that you have high level pokemon kanto is just a extra couple of levels with some new legendaries.
however you CAN catch mewtwo (i named him fuzzy because using mewtwo makes me feel fuzzy inside)

Blue's Rematch

Hey guys. I'm new here so if I posted under the wrong place or this has been asked before then my bad. I've been reading up on Serebii and Psypokes on how to re-challenge Gym Leader Blue and they both tell me different things. I went to Daisy Oak and had my Typhlosion massaged at around 3 P.M. Now, every time I take him on a different day at the same time, she just tells me that she usually has tea at that time and to come join her. Serebii says that I need to get the same Pokemon massaged 5 times while Psypokes says 7 times. I just need to know what it is I have to actually do from someone who already got Blue's number. And my Typhlosion must be at maximum happiness. How else would she be able to massage it once? Thanks in advance.

The thing is, you have to actually get her to massage your Pkmn five times. I think five different Pkmn are absolutely OK. Er... Blue is kindof the only leader who's number I don't have, so I might be a bad source.. But I trust serebii atleast. And If it doesn't work with five, then you could just try seven. Or ask someone who knows >_>

Well, uh, hope it goes well, atleast X)

How can I learn a lot about Pokemon like them?

They can only evolve using the Rocks in Sinnoh, so you'll have to trade to your version of D/P/Pt, or head on over to the Trade Corner and see if there's someone who you would trust in evolving them for you.

The Pokémon Strategies and Movesets forum is a great place to start. Reading some of the stickies on how to formulate a team and such things like EVs and IVs, etc. would be all good to read so you aren't feeling as dumb. :\ Once you get the hang of it though, you'll see, it won't be that hard.

You get Rock Smash from a Hiker on Route 36, west of Violet City where Sudowoodo is located.

Yeah, I'm just trying to get the answer from someone who did it just so I don't waste my life maxing out like 6 other Pokemon's happiness. I'm confused with all of it. I've tried switching the date on my DS to a week, a month, and even a year after, and then came back at around 3 P.M. to see if she would massage my Typhlosion again, but I had no luck. I wish I had that Happiness Application from Diamond.

There's a lady in a house in eastern GoldenRod who gives a vage insight on how much a Pkmn likes you. That's always in handy.

As far as I know, cheating time makes things worse. I couldn't listen to Buena's password for 24 hours ;_;

FalconsDrummer April 24th, 2010 12:24 PM

This applies to all of Generation IV, but I thought I'd ask here since I'm currently playing HG.

Light Ball raises Att. and Sp.A. of Pikachu. Does it also work for Raichu, or will the Light Ball become useless once I evolve my Pikachu?
Edit: And yes, I know it also allows for the breeding of Pichu that know Volt Tackle.

According to Bulbapedia, it is a Pikachu-specific item, so no, it won't work for Raichu. However, it still has some use, as you say, as a breeding item.

EDIT: Heh, Clair gave me the TM when I went to the Gym. Seems I missed it somehow.

Izionn April 25th, 2010 3:18 AM

I have a question about Natures and Evolution!!!
OK, so,
I Have this horsea, who is going to be a swift swim user in the rain when I evolve it into kingdra!
BUT, I just got it to Seadra, but it changed its ability to poison point!!! (Since that's Seadra's ONLY ability)
Now I know Kingra's abilities are Sniper and Swift swim, just like horsea's, but will it go back to swift swim when I evolve it into Kingdra???
Or is there a possibility it may even be sniper???
And if it CAN be sniper, how can I fix this problem?!?!
Please help!!!!

EDIT: If I'm not online in twenty minutes, a PM answer would make my day! :]

Suzune April 25th, 2010 3:40 AM

I'd assume so. I was able to trade via wireless, so why wouldnt wifi work?

Ezio Auditore da Firenze April 25th, 2010 3:47 AM

Well, I never looked, but I had a Horsea with Sniper, and when it was Kingdra, it had Sniper, so I assume you're ok.

MickX April 25th, 2010 4:43 AM

If the Horsea has Swift Swim, Kingdra will have Swift Swim. If the Horsea has Sniper, Kingdra will have Sniper. If you somehow want to know this with a recently caught Seadra, you'll have to evolve it to know.

Generally saying, if your Pokémon has two abilities which are temporarily lost during the evolution stages, it will get the same ability once it's able to. It's like a fixed value of some sort.

You have to do the Power Plant side quest in order to gain the EXPN Card at the Radio Tower in Lavender. The Pokéflute is a manual channel.

The quest:

First you must visit the Power Plant. The man there will tell you that a part has been stolen. Go to Cerulean and visit the gym. A Team Rocket member will run away. Follow him to Nugget Bridge and battle him. He'll then tell you he hid the part in the gym. You can find the part in the top rubber rings.

Take the part back to the Power Plant and the power will go on again.

Now go to Lavender and talk to someone in the Radio Tower. You will get the EXPN card for your Pokégear. The Pokéflute channel can be found by moving the circle to the top of the ring.

In addition to this, you can now activate the Magnet Train. Someone near the station will tell you about Copycat losing her doll. Go to the fan club in Vermillion and take the Clefairy doll. When you leave the building, Steven Stone will tell you about the red or blue roaming Pokémon. Now take the doll to Copycat in Saffron and she will give you a Magnet Pass.

Quest: Done.
Result: EXPN Card, Magnet Pass, Access to [email protected]

(As I understand it) Ghost has a x2 weakness to Dark. This makes Karen especially hard, and so your best option is to be a higher level than her (by a LOT) and keep using moves of types that her Pokémon have some weakness.

Cyndaquil ,a water and a grass type, then train articuno and lugia when you catch them,I have this team and it is very good!

JoelxD April 25th, 2010 8:49 AM

Renege April 25th, 2010 8:51 AM

JoelxD April 25th, 2010 8:57 AM

There all to weak and dont kill very easily especially Sunkern he sucks

Sorry guys brb dinner :)
Ill be back soon

Renege April 25th, 2010 9:00 AM

If you don't like Sunkern, dispose of it. They're going to be weak, unless you train them.

myrrh25 April 25th, 2010 9:02 AM

Dispose of Sunkern, OR get yourself a Leaf Stone from the PokeAthlon..

Xyrin April 25th, 2010 10:18 AM

Just change your current team. It'll be easier. Just swithc the sucky ones. Or grind like heck.

Porygon3 April 25th, 2010 10:38 AM

If you are at the Lighthouse that means you still have a little more trainers coming up before your next badge (Chuck). Chuck has Fighting/Water Pokemon so I would suggest you train your Sunkern instead of getting rid of it. You will going on to a water route with some trainers which is good training. You may also want to do what myrrh25 said and get a leaf stone at the PokeAthlon. Just try not to get rid of Mega Drain/Solarbeam. As for the Fighting Type of your next Gym, I recommend you weaken them down with Pidgeotto if you can, and finish them off with Feraligatr. Then when you head back to face your sixth gym (after you healed Amphy) you will be up against Steel/Ground/Thunder Pokemon. Your newly trained Sunkern or Feraligatr should be able to take care of Steelix. But for the other 2 Magnemites, avoid using Feraligatr and Pidgeotto. Try tracking down a fire Pokemon. I believe there are some Growlithes in Route 36/37. Or if you caught Sudowoodo, he can be useful against the Magnemites too.

does anybody know a good place to catch dittos?

Xyrin April 25th, 2010 10:54 AM

I'm confused... I caught a Geodude in the Safari zone for the Warden. I brought it to him and put it in the front of my party and he just tells me to get one and show him it...

Wait... Sorry. I got it mixed up with another geodude.

Route 47 after Waterfall can be used or right outside the Daycare Center.

Route 47 has a 40-50% chance, Route 36 has 10%.

You can buy them at the Safari Zone Gate, talk to the lady with the Butterfree.

lucaspontes_7 April 25th, 2010 4:36 PM

So, I got the Enigma Crystal and already got the Hoenn starter and Beldum from Steven. But he just doesn't appear at the Pewter Museum. How do I trigger the event?

Stew_The_Jew April 25th, 2010 4:52 PM

you go inside the museum and talk to one of the people in there and they tell you its the "Soul Dew" then you walk outside and talk to Steven then you battle [email protected]

How To Get To Blackthron Town From Where Misty Is At That Town!

Ok so i'm in Pokemon Soulsilver and I have to reach the next town which is Blackthron but i don't know how to get there. What do you have to do to get there and how do you get there? Please help. Thanks. I hope you know what i mean. I'm in the town where Misty is and i defeated her and fixed the power plant and now i'm free to do what i please and need to get to the next town which i think is Blackthron Town and I don't know how to get there. Please help. Thanks. Appreciation for help.

shookie April 25th, 2010 5:33 PM

So, you defeated Misty and fixed the power plant, so I'm assuming you're in Cerulean City? In order to get to Cerulean you'd have to already gone through Blackthorn City, as that's where you get your last Johto badge in order to gain access to Hoenn. I'm a little confused by what you're asking :S

Can't find berries!

Tamato & Qualot Berries.

Used in EV training, I can't find them anywhere in the game.

Does anyone know where they can be found in HG/SS?

I think you need to import them, unless you can get them from the people who hand out berries?

Impo April 25th, 2010 6:08 PM

im pretty sure those berries are given from people who give shards :)

I think you mean you want to reach Pewter City? To do so, go to Lavander Town and into the Radio Tower. After speaking to a man there, you will be able to tune your Pokegear radio to the Poke Flute station. Then head east of Vermilion City and turn the Poke Flute station on to wake up the Snorlax. Go through the Diglett's cave and exit out through the top of Route 2 to reach Pewter City.

A question about SRing for a Shiny. As an example I'll use Suicune.

Do you simply keep resetting the game and then approaching Suicune until it's a Shiny, or is there something else?

Porygon3 April 26th, 2010 2:24 AM

I'm pretty sure that resetting and approaching is all you do.

loliwin April 26th, 2010 2:30 AM

Yeh, resetting all the time is the only thing that works. xD

According to Bulbapedia:
Quote:

Falkner can be registered anytime today by talking to him on the fourth floor of the Celadon Department Store. (Must have acquired the Soul Badge)
So the only reason I could think of is that you haven't gotten the Soul Badge yet?

He appeared in my game, so perhaps check the date set on your DS?

Try entering the gym of that leader you're looking for. Should be Falkner? This worked for me after i went looking for Pryce at the designated and not finding him there. :)

I have a question, were the stats of Sunkern @ the Pokéathlon fixed? If they were, when did it happen? And how? o-o, I mean, Nintendo don't really have access to our cartridges (I believe).

Also, what other Pokemon have perfect 25 stats (if any)?

Who do I have to breed with my weavile to get a sneasel with ice punch (egg move)? :( I've already tried my machop and electrike..

umbreon_4_life April 26th, 2010 1:42 PM

Sorry if this is the wrong section, but I have a quick question. Do you think I should evolve my Dragonair into a Dragonite, or just leave her as she is? I know you'll say that it's all my decision, but I'd like some input. So? What do you think? I really like Dragonair, and not a big fan of Dragonite, but I hear that Dragonite is MUCH stronger than Dragonair.... Help, please!!! XD Thanks in advance!
