hi, i need to know, where do you get to find suicune?
and if steven said about latias, how do u find latios?

zommy08 May 6th, 2010 10:34 AM

Latias is exclusive to HG. Latios is exclusive to SS.
To find Suicune, you need to see it north of Cianwood, east of Ecruteak, on the way to Vermilion from the ship, Route 14 (east of Fuchsia City), then if you defeated Misty you can find it on Route 25 (Cerulean Cape).

Latias for HG and Latios for SS is right, as far as the roaming version of said Pokémon. Just adding that whatever [email protected] you catch by talking to Steven outside of the Pokémon Fan Club, you can catch the other as an event Pokémon once the event becomes available.

The event has you receive an Enigma Stone key item through Mystery Gift, which you then take to the museum in Pewter City. After all of this, you'll eventually get a chance to catch the Pokémon you didnt get to catch before (meaning if you have HG, you can get Latios through this event).

Of course, this event needs to be active first, and it hasn't been announced for the English version of the games yet, so we'll have to wait on that~

Baoba always called me whenever I exited the TR Hideout in Mohagany after Lance and I took out the 3 pokemon each...

How do you EV reset in HGSS? I cannot find the resetting berries...(can anyone reset for me if not possible on HGSS?)

Flare Riqueza May 7th, 2010 11:51 AM

Get berries traded over and plant them?

Go to the "shard de berry!" guy, and give him shards. The one in Fuchsia is probably more likely to give them to you than the Violet City one.

From the looks of it, you have to trade them from DPPt to get them. Just plant them in the Berry Planter, and have fun.

Any item switches that occur during trainer battles (in-game or against real people) are not permanent. The only time you'd lose the item forever is if a wild Pokémon took the item...which sucks, so be careful~

Yeah, you only lose that item for that battle. (multiplayer) There's no reason to be scared about having your pokemon hold an item.

How long does it take for the Pokeathlon to reset so you can start buying certain items again?

Second of all, chronicles of the mysteriously dissapearing Entei icon part 2. A while back I asked in this same thread if you can't see the Entei icon does it mean it is in the same area. Later we assumed that it simply meant that he was in Kanto. However the little bugger is not showing up on either side of the map. Any ideas why?

I believe the items available for purchase at the Pokéathlon Dome reset each day (at midnight)?

As for Entei, sometime he (and Raikou) dissappear from the map - it is just him moving about, as sometimes he goes away and then comes back. He will never appear on the Kanto side of the map - that's where [email protected] roams.
Yeah, the roaming 'mons just... go away sometimes. It's nothing to worry about. :D

Alexeon May 7th, 2010 3:05 PM

Just adding that sometimes, on certain smaller routes, when roaming Pokémon actually are on the same route as you, your icon may completely cover the icon of the roamer. If you think this is the case, you will notice a white outline around your icon, which is the outline of the roamer~

Can I get some advice here? I am torn on whether or not I should teach my Lugia fly. I orignally use a dragonite that I traded from pearl for fly but I'm getting tired of it being on my team. My Lugia is lv.49, bold nature and knows extrasensory, aeroblast, dragon pulse, and hydro pump...if I am to delete a move, which one should I delete?

.Eevee-Chan May 7th, 2010 7:58 PM

Would someone be able to trade a wondercard from an event even if the event is over?
Oh and be able to trade it through wifi.

VM me please if you want to help me test it out :D
-I'll be off right now though.

I'm just kind of confused /w the Power items and breeding.

Say if a Male Larvitar with a 28 IV in HP is put into the daycare holding a Power Weight, and a 31 Attack IV'd Ditto holding a Power Bracer is also put in.
Will both IV's be passed down? I read some different things on the Smogon forums: I heard from one user that either one IV or the other will be passed down to the offspring, but not both, and I heard from yet another user that both can be passed down but not 100%.

Which is true, does anyone know? I need a definite answer.
Thanks in advance.

i thought of an idea it might work
on the pokewalker the ! are normal then you transfer them onto your game and go to pokemon center and save in front of computer i was wondering if you could SR them to be shiny i know that you can SR their nature

moon_light May 8th, 2010 7:21 AM

hey, I'm trying to find a pineco to evolve into a forrestress so I can get a beldum from Steven, but I can't find a pineco anywhere. I've been headbutting tress but I keep getting hoothoot and spearow. Where should I headbutt to get a pineco? the rate of getting a pokemon when headbutting seems to be really low, out of 10 times I headbutt a tree (the same tree for all 10 times), I usually only find 2 or 3 pokemon

edit: nevermind I finally found one, I guess they're just not that common xD

Where can I get a simple guide on how to RNG abuse?

embercat May 8th, 2010 2:21 PM

Flash TM?

Where can i get the flash TM? i've already had it from the guy who gives you it but i need it for a different pokemon, any idea where i can get, also what TM number is it?

Blueknight May 8th, 2010 2:38 PM

you can get it at the goldenrod department store. I think It's TM 70 or something. You can get as many as you want and it's relatively cheap. While I was playing through HG, I was always low on cash until after the 6th gym, but I was using savings, so you should be fine.

Turn the game off? There's no reason to be afraid since all you're doing is breeding like you normally do.

Is the Fighting Dojo sensei in Tohjo Falls or Mount Mortar?

Flare Riqueza May 9th, 2010 10:21 AM

Mount Mortar.

Only thing in Tohjo Falls is an item, and once Event Celebi is released, a battle against Giovanni

Help!

does anyone know of a method to store pokemon outside of D/P & HG/SS, so that you can restart your game WITHOUT losing your pokemon? Like how Colosseum/XD/Pokemon Box can store pokemon from R/S/E/LG/FR, is there something out there that can store pokemon from D/P & HG/SS?

countryemo May 9th, 2010 12:42 PM

Does this go here?.

I batted whitney b4 but when i returned this time i cant get in. (up stair-through door-trys top go left but is stuck)

Flare Riqueza May 9th, 2010 12:48 PM

@ AbsolDemon - MyPokemonRanch. It's a WiiWare thing. Good thing is, that when you put in 999 pokemon, you get a Mew! However, you have to send them back to the save file they came from....

@ CountryEmo - You tried the top-right entrance to the centre of the gym right?
Because that's where you go in to get to her

Volroc May 9th, 2010 12:50 PM

i found his partner beat him, but he still wont mvoe T_T

jigglyppuff8 May 9th, 2010 12:51 PM

My Pokemon Ranch only works with Diamond and Pearl. Platinum for the Japanese since they received an update. Otherwise, there is none for HG/SS as of yet.

My Pokemon Ranch works for Diamond and Pearl, but not Platinum and onward. We ask for a patch, Nintendo said that we don't want it.

Alexeon May 9th, 2010 4:37 PM

Regardless, it's to my understanding that My Pokémon Ranch can't be used to transfer Pokémon from one save file to another (even if it's a new game on the same cartridge).

This prevents people storing Pokémon and starting a new game - something for which previous storage titles were quite useful.

As such, in the current generation, there really is no way at the moment to transfer Pokémon and items in massive amounts from one game/file to another, besides the very slow trading method...which is just ridiculous, but not much we can do about it~

Hey guy's I am thinking of starting again on HG but I was wondering, will doing so make me lose all the PokeWalker routes gotten throughout the game and from Wifi events?

Alexeon May 9th, 2010 5:05 PM

Yup, you'll lose all acquired Pokéwalker routes, including the event ones (meaning you can't get Yellow Forest back). x_x

So I gotta make a choice, keep the PokeWalker routes but be stuck with a team that I hate, or start over and lose them all, this is why I hate Nintendo and there one save file rule for Pokémon, and these events, it basically means you have to buy a new game EVERY TIME you wanna start over.

Well, thanks anyway.

I usually just attempt to beat Clair and get EXP on the one or two I kill...or train on the Wilds in the route near the town...or the cave...there are hidden trains if you go down all the way on the left...there is a level problem in this game they never fixed (they made it worse actually) so its best to only have like 3-4 Pokemon at this time...but yeah...Wilds or Clair...

Also a nice place to train would be the grass south of the safari zone. The levels don't seem that high but a tauros there gives around 600 XP a time.

During a Chansey Swarm, try stealing a Lucky Egg and giving it to your Pokemon. Then you just battle the level 23 Chansey all day long. I got about 4 levels on my Level 80 Typholosion.

You need to feed it roughly 7 Oran berries. It doesn't have to be all in one sitting, you can feed all seven over time.

During a Chansey Swarm yes it is easy to get a Lucky Egg...but I suggest you use the following...it helps you get items from wilds easy...

What You Need:
1. Pokemon with Compoundeyes in Slot 1 of your Party. Butterfree is easy (Venonat, Yanma, and Nincada can too) Venonat and Yanma can have another ability and Nincada is harder to get.
2. Pokemon with Frisk and a Steal move. Stantler is easy to obtain (Other is Shuppet or Banette) and make it learn Thief.

Compoundeyes makes Wilds have a higher % chance of having an item on them...then switch to Stantler and he will Frisk and tell you what item they are holding...if its a Lucky Egg use Thief and Lucky Egg is obtains and Stantler will be holding it.

Repeat over and over...:)

I call this the Shikacho (or Choshika but that sounds stupider) Method...for obvious reasons

Yes I gave it that name because of the relationship between Choji and Shikamaru...Choji name meaning Butterfly Boy and Shikamaru being Deer Man...

So Shikacho...Butterfree + Stantler...

Also if your Butterfree is the same level as the Chansey's then you can use repel and have a higher chance to get them or something (Worked in Diamond atleast idk about HGSS)

kakarot May 11th, 2010 3:18 AM

When I received my Arceus, the wonder card stated that if I traded it over to HG/SS there would be a "legendary surprise"

I got nada, zip, zilch.

Anybody found anything? what did I miss??

Well, thanks anyway.

i totally agree, i think if you start over you should be able to re-get all event pokemon, event items, & event routes
they should basically allow you to store all wonder cards in your game, and each time you restart after you unlock mystery gift you should regain all the stuff you lost.
and for the pokewalker, all courses are permanent :P

this is why the legend of zelda sales 3times as much as pokemon games:
you get 2-3 save files on each game (of course they dont have events, but at least if they did you could play all you want without losin it)

take ONLY the Arceus to the Ruins of Alph after you get national dex then you go to sinjoh ruins and voila you can get plakia, dialga, or giratina newborn :3

Hi I was wondering where I should train up my Growlithe. Its level 21 and I need it to level it up to about level 40. I know its quite a step so I was wondering whether I should trade it to Platinum and rebattle the Gym Leaders to level it up or whether I should just level it up in HeartGold.

If you trade it, it will grow faster due to boosted Experience, wheras grinding in HG can get tedious after a while. I would trade it but then again, that's just my opinion. ~♪

Choose the fastest way. If you want to EV it you should take that into consideration. But where are you exactly in the game. If it's for the league you could train around the safari zone on the waterfall (it has Milktanks that give 1000 XP each)

I'm trying to get Blue's number registered in my Pokegear, so I've been having my Pokemon massaged by Daisy everyday between 3 and 4. However, today, she simply said "I usually have tea around this time. Come join me.", and I even checked the time on my 'Gear. I was wondering if this is normal.

Mirokarosu May 11th, 2010 3:24 PM

If you changed your time for anything else today, it could be the reason. Sometimes, when you change the time, than change it back, the game thinks that you had already done some of the things that happens once a day. Example would be Daisy massages. /has had that happen to her as well, because she changed the time so she can battle Erika.

Okay, thanks! I had to set the clock on my DS ahead a few minutes, it was about four minutes behind the other clocks...

Xebelleon May 11th, 2010 6:07 PM

What is the earliest time I can visit the Sinjoh Ruins? Is beating the E4 necessary?

I've already accessed in HG with my Arceus. Just wondering as I am early into the Johto run around in my SS.

Mirokarosu May 11th, 2010 7:54 PM

I think what the person above you has said answers your question just fine, An-San.

kakarot May 11th, 2010 11:32 PM

Team fail comes through with the goods.

That has to be the best moment in the game for me so far.

Thanks for the help buddy!

:D

Oh!, I chose Giratina btw.

The PokeWalker

Right Im curious how this works cause im not 100% sure

On serbii http://www.serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/pokewalker-area.shtml#refreshingfield

Theres 3 groups,
1 exclamation mark for group (C)
2 exclamation marks for group (B)
3 exclamation marks for group (A)

And for each group there are 2 pokemon.
So does this mean that when you first connect to the PokeWalker, it picks 1 pokemon from from each group?

If so, would the pokemon change everytime you connect.
Or would the pokemon change every day, when midnight comes.

Unsure if that makes much sense but thanks for anyhelp you can give

One Pokémon from each group is randomly chosen when you sync the Pokéwalker with the DS.

Sprout or Bell Tower. You can also catch it in the Safari Zone, Forest section, only at night.

Hey
Can you find shinies on Soul Silver on a bike and running or do you have to be walking

EJ May 12th, 2010 6:15 PM

You can be doing either. It's really just a very random chance of encountering one.

It doesnt matter whether you are biking or walking
but if you havent found any yet dont worry, legit shinies (found in the wild) are incredibly rare, almost all shinies are hacked

ok i'm not counting all the people who said they found shinies b4 they could get pokeballs, because if that was true shinies would be a lot less rare

BakingBluePotatoe May 12th, 2010 6:17 PM

If I trained a Pokemon in the Pokethalon then traded it to Pearl version to do some contests, what would happen to the Pokethalon stuff when I traded it back?

komrade1943 May 13th, 2010 4:39 PM

You folks probably get this alot, but I'm going against the elite 4 my first time on HG but I keep losing because the dark type trainer's "Houndoom" one hits all my pokemon incl. my lvl 57 Haunter. Where's a good place to train, and might anyone give this poor trainer some advice?

Thanks,

The best place to train before the Elite Four would be Victory Road. Good luck.

Hi guys,I wanna know if it is possible to trade PKM from SoulSilver to Platinum for example via nosgba emulator on pc...thx for answers....

alphabetsoup102062 May 14th, 2010 5:44 AM

Yeah, you can trade from Soulsilver to Platinum on a DS but I don't think you can on emulators, if thats what you mean.

GrimTempest May 14th, 2010 12:24 PM

I have a nidorino thats taking up the 6th slot in my team
can someone recommend something to switch it with?
i have HG btw

blue bolt May 14th, 2010 7:08 PM

So what should I do?

I just started pokemon heartgold. i got a ditto and a jolteon.I left them at the daycare to get some eggs but the daycare raised my jolteon from lvl 10 to 20 and his stats are now ruined...
should i get a new jolteon and raise it right?

emoxy May 14th, 2010 7:28 PM

The daycare doesn't affect IV/EV, so I don't think there's any problem. Just EV grind it if you want? Unless your Jolteon has bad IVs..

Or are you referring to moves?

It's the other way around. Jirachi unlocks the Night Skys Edge Route if you trade it to HG/SS.

ok does the route unlock as soon as you trade the night sky Jirachi over to HG/SS or do you have to do something first

alisaie May 14th, 2010 8:46 PM

You have to put Jirachi into your Pokewalker and pick the route. After you're on the route for the first time, you can put Jirachi back into your game, and then pick any Pokemon you want to put into the route.

It'd help if you posted your team.
But for the 2nd question, crobat. Just because he has a higher stat total, VERY high speed, and can learn good TM moves. In my previous run of HG, my crobat knew fly, confuse ray, u-turn, and cross poison, which made him unstoppable.
