How do you rebattle your rival? I couldn't find it.

nm legend September 7th, 2010 8:11 AM

i know this is a stupid question but....the lady in blackthorn city only gives the effort ribbon if the pokeman completed its ev training right? just need to make sure..thanks VM ME the answer if anythin

Amore September 7th, 2010 8:23 AM

Lol.

You can battle your rival on Mondays and Wednesdays. Just go insido the Indigo Plateau, walk straight forward until he challenges you. But don't go into the league, yet, you'll lose.

The lv.70+ pokemon are about right....the others need raising. Especially Sneasel, because Lance's Garchomp is a beast.

As for Flare Blitz, the following families will work:

Rapidash (ignore Astinus, according to Bulbapedia, he's wrong).
Arcanine
Ninetales
Charizard
Blaziken
Infernape

Note the 1st stages of the latter two won't work, but every other family member of the above pokemon works...and Typhlosion, if you found one already :P

Hi. I just recieve some phone call from clair. Then she told me to go to the dragon's tamer. Where is this dragon's tamer. Let me know. Thanks.

Amore September 7th, 2010 12:39 PM

Don't think I understand, but here's all the messages she can say...

Spoiler:

Calling you:
"Yes, it’s Clair here... Oh, hi. How are you doing? Lately there seems to be some gossip running through town that I am the latest name in fashion. Well, if I’m that cool that people can’t stop talking about me, I can totally understand that sentiment."
Calling her:
"Nice to hear from you. How is everything with you? I'm good. What's your point? If you want to battle me again, fine. Friday nights, take it or leave it. Call me then... Maybe I'll answer..."
On Friday nights:
"Nice to hear from you. How is everything with you? I'm good. Well, well, you called at the right time! You want to battle again? I'm up for it."
No: "What in the world? Are you trying to make fun of me?!"
Yes: "Ha ha ha. It's great that you're stepping up. I'll be waiting for you at the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City!"
"Yes, it’s Clair here... Oh, hi. How are you doing? Keep in mind we’re meeting at the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City. It’s a promise I’m waiting to keep..."
"Nice to hear from you. How is everything with you? I'm good. I’m waiting for you at the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City... Don’t wuss out."

If you called her, and your date's set to Friday, then go to Saffron Fighting Dojo...hope I helped!

When the professor oaks says there is a swarn of a certain pokemon what time of day does he announce it. Every time I go to the radio in my option menu he says a lot of junk stuff.

Question regarding Arceus's abilility.

So Arceus's ability is Multi Type, as many of you know, which allows it to become any type depending what plate it is holding.

My question is what if another Pokémon was hacked with Multi Type?

Would it be able to change types depending on the plate just like Arceus?

I would test it out for myself but my AR broke..

No actually it won't work.

It's hardcoded to only work for Arceus.

I've tested it myself a while back with a Multi Type Sceptile that was holding a Draco Plate.

I battled a Garchomp and it used Dragon Rush on my Sceptile but it did not say that it was Super Effective.

Hence, it's Type did not change.

WildBolt September 8th, 2010 6:54 PM

Ok so which one of you is right?

Because I really want to have a Dragon-type Aerodactyl :D

zapdosa September 8th, 2010 7:03 PM

I am because like I said I tested it myself and it did not work.

The creators probably knew before hand that this might be abused which is why they hardcoded it for Arceus only.

bobandbill September 8th, 2010 7:39 PM

It's not really a HGSS question (especially as it partly has to do with the AR), but eh, I'll merge with the Help thread anyways. Maybe check bulba as well on the ability? (I wonder if one could actually test without hacking via the move Role Play?)

Amore September 9th, 2010 8:57 AM

Multitype can't be copied by Role Play, Skill Swap or Trace.

Gastro Acid and Mold Breaker don't work either. So, Multitype is sort of...immune to all ability-effecting things.

I just got an feebas from a trainer today. I want to know how to evolve it into a molatic. What is the easiest way to make it look beauty.

The only way to increase beauty in HeartGold and SoulSilver is by letting Daisy massage your Feebas. Once its beauty is maxed out (unfortunately, there is no real way to tell), just simply level it up and it'll evolve into Milotic.

That's me lol. If you're on DPPt, easiest way are Poffins (But idk whether the bold feebas i traded you likes dry poffins) if you're on HGSS, the only way is to talk to Daisy every day between 3pm to 4pm for 8 days. See here http://serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/daisyoak.shtml

Going to sound like a complete noob.

Anyone able to PM me a link for a pokemon type chart. I know the majority, but can't remember all of Steel and Dark type strengths and weaknesses?

Rather than PM, I'll give it straight: Dark is weak to Bug and Fighting; Steel is weak to Fire, Fighting and Ground. Dark is strong against Ghost and Psychic; Steel is strong against Ice and Rock.

Cheers for that, I knew Steel was weak against Fire and Psychic doesn't affect Dark, but couldn't remember the rest.

And here's a type-chart anyways. =p http://www.serebii.net/games/type.shtml It does include the double-typings Pokemon currently have as well (but not 5th gen yet =p).

ltsang September 10th, 2010 8:59 AM

Ok. Few minutes ago I was battling sabrina. Her alakazam took me out in one hit. I was using my houndoom at level 74. Why is that? I know that fighting type move is strong against dark pokemon. But my houndoom is half dark and fire. So I taught it crunch, dark pulse, shadowball and flamethrower. Let me know. Thanks. My pokemon is not ev train.

I've got 2 questions please.

1. I really need a Thick Club and I've been catching billions of cubones and marowak's at the Rock Tunnel, Bulbapedia and other sites say that in HGSS wild cubone/marowak howld a thick club for 5%. I'm also trying to gets 20000 watts on my Pokewalker to get Scary Cave.

2. Sorry if this has already been asked but what is the best place to get my pokemon from Lv. 50 to 60? I tried Mt. Silver but it takes aaages.

Thank you so much

Sorry, I'm missing the question here...but yeah, they're incredibly rare...you would be better off giving a pokemon the tm Thief, making sure it doesn't have an item, and using Thief, then running away, rather than catching them all...it's a lot cheaper.

Mount Silver is the best spot for wild pokemon....however, seeing as you have 16 badges...Gym Leader Rematches, particularly Kanto ones.

For example, I trained an Arcanine from lv.50-70 against Bugsy and Erika, whilst also raising a Sharpedo from lv.50-70 against Blaine.

1.- Use Thief and a Butterfree in the lead because Compoundeyes raise the probability of find items in wild pokemons.
2.- Rematches with Gym Leaders, E4 and some trainers. Also a Lucky Egg always help. ;)

I recently plant some orange berries in the pot and they have not yet grown. Why?
