Outside of the Battle Frontier and Pokeathlon, where can you find some Rare Candies?

Pickup ability, Item Finder... there's one hidden in Ekruteak's North-East corner.

I need help with the Elite 4:
On Saturday I got HG and now I keep getting beat by lance, I allways use Ho-oh and Typhlosion, but even though I have higher level pokemon, he keeps defeating me!

Sora247_2009 March 30th, 2010 10:22 AM

Usesomething with an Ice type move and good defense. Try Quagsire with Ice Beam, should work nicely.

Easy, Swap out your Hooh and if you have that shiney red gyados, lv him to lv 40 or higher, teach him "Avalanche" and give him the nevermeltice. This way you will skool all of his Dragon/Flying types when they hit you first. The nevermeltice should be enough for a STAB, and Since its 120 Base attack when they strike first with a 4x damage you should mow through his team in a heartbeat. When his health gets low, swap out for hooh to take the hits and use Full Restores and Ulrta Pots to heal you Gyados. Also it would be wise to teach Gyrados "Aqua Tail" which he learns at Lv35 to take out the charizard. Bring out Typholtion as well as needed, and KEEP Gyrados alive. Bring lots of Revives and Full restores

Train Gyarados until level 50 or so. It'll learn all the moves it can and Ice Fang is great against Lance.

Thanks, I'll try that! Nice one!
XD

Heart's Soul March 30th, 2010 11:06 AM

Yeah, you could use Avalanche, or just do something to his team (like SLP) and get GYARADOS in, use Dragon Dance and use Ice Fang until you win. Aqua Tail is another great choice, maybe Giga Impact.

SCV058 March 30th, 2010 11:09 AM

Avalanche is a bad idea since one of his pokes does have Thunder.
Ice Fang is way better. Simply send in Gyara first, Dance up a few times, and sweep.

Ooka March 30th, 2010 11:24 AM

Gyarados is definitely the easiest way, although I never used it once. Feraligatr does just as good a job as Gyarados. :P

Recontra1234 March 30th, 2010 11:56 AM

Ho-oh

Lets say Ho-oh killed my team up at Bell Tower, is he still up there for a rematch or did he fly away?

Ooka March 30th, 2010 12:02 PM

He'll still be there when you go back up.

I'm trying to decide between a fire pokemon for my new file, and I was a bit curious. I can get a fire stone very early, and I would love having an arcanine quickly. If I evolve it before growlithe has learned all of it's moves, will it still learn them as arcanine, or would I have to use heart scales or keep growlithe until like 48?

I'm asking because on serebii and bulbapedia, arcanine and ninetails don't list any moves via levelup except for extreme speed on arcanine.

Yusshin March 30th, 2010 3:09 PM

When you evolve Vulpix, Pikachu, Growlithe, Clefairy, or any stone-based Pokemon, most of the time (an exception being Bellossom) your Pokemon will not learn any moves.

So Growlithe evolved to Arcanine at a low level would require heart scales to relearn moves.

RouIette March 30th, 2010 3:16 PM

that is gross ):
Thank you for the clarification XD

Ponyo March 30th, 2010 4:16 PM

Drift_King1 March 30th, 2010 4:52 PM

Can anyone help me with Voltorb Flip? I'm on lvl 3, and I have no idea on how to determine which card would be a voltorb or not. I've already watched the videos on YouTube, and they are no help.
