pokemon with homeless people?

okay so in several towns i've been to, there on average, 4 actual houses, each on has 1-3 people in it, and then when you go outside you've got another bunch of people outside. i doubt that one story houses with no beds support more than 4 people, but then... where do all these peoplelive?! its in pretty much everytown. what do you think o,O

Hahaha, that totally reminds me of Lueroi's walkthrough. I can't remember which game it was (maybe Sapphire?) but he was all, "Where do these other people live?!" Hm, I wonder...

Heart's Soul March 21st, 2010 9:24 AM

I wondered about the houses with barred windows, no doors and a light coming from them. It's a weird thing, really, but you don't go to the bathroom or fall asleep or eat for weeks in the game, like what I did in Pearl. 102 hours and counting there.

VinceLevi March 21st, 2010 9:27 AM

I think, or at least I would hope, that most of these people are wandering trainers as well, meaning that they can stay at the Pokemon center.
Well, regardless of wanderlust, if they are trainers, period, they are allowed to sleep at the Pokemon Center.

No no, you don't get it. It's Japan, people live in cramped spaces and on the floor. The buildings and people ratio is accurate.

GlitchCity March 21st, 2010 9:29 AM

maybe they're tourist? Well goldenrod has over 60 houses (yes I counted them) and I always wondered why they wernt filled with people.

No, that's China. Japan, they're just as cramped but not poor. They have beds.

Rofl i laughed when i read this, and i think they are just traveling trainers

bobandbill March 21st, 2010 11:44 AM

This applies to basically every Pokemon game, so moved it to General Pokemon Gaming.

The Girl Once named Tracie March 21st, 2010 11:45 AM

Yes, I'm sure they are traveling trainers.

I think the people we should be most worried about are the ones that never leave their house/the pokemon center ):

Crystal-Heart March 21st, 2010 2:17 PM

I just pretend that there are more houses, akin to how many there are when they go to a town in the Manga/Anime.

ilikeluigi March 22nd, 2010 3:36 PM

What I don't understand. Is how come most of the houses have no doors.

BHwolfgang March 22nd, 2010 3:47 PM

That's because GameFreak were too lazy to make every building accessible. Oh, and they tried to make it look like the city is actually more populated and bigger than it really is. (ex. Goldenrod)

Eh, there's always those who like sleeping outside in a tent or something.

In Japan it's not uncommon for people to only have a mattress for a bed. The mattress is usually stored in a closet during the daytime to conserve space.

haha this thread is hilarious..stereotypical much?

ever wondered why the villagers repeat the same thing, over and over again? they're holograms manipulated by the dastardly professor oak, who is himself an android.duhs. as soon as you shut the game off, they all disappear, leaving your trainer to wander round aimlessly, sobbing gently and crying out for his mom until you turn on again and subject him to another hard slog hatching 567474 eevees.
obviously :3

dastandy March 23rd, 2010 11:11 PM

What when your playing for 100 plus hours and you come back and see the same npc in the same spot it's like ok are they sleeping on thier feet or walking around
@Lua lol dastardly... wow thats really close to my name XD

Lua March 24th, 2010 12:51 PM

haha yai! the deviously dastardly dastandy..
<3 random words :3

Sneeze March 24th, 2010 1:33 PM

They all have time shares and when one person is outside one goes inside and they swap when you aren't looking. They only share with people who look identical to them and also say the same thing. True story.

Heart's Soul March 24th, 2010 1:43 PM

Seeing the people in the exact same spot 24 hours long and speaking to you the same thing is really creepy. Also, not having to go to the bathroom or eating for over 100 hours is too.

*People are milling about town living normal lives*
Town watchman: "Oh, snap, <player> is approaching! Assume proper positions and remember your scripted lines!"
*Player talks to guy outside Pokemon Center*
Guy: "This is a Pokemon Center! You heal your Pokemon here!"
*Player talks to same guy again*
Guy: "This is a Pokemon Center! You heal your Pokemon here!"
*Player walks through town on way to somewhere else*
Watchman: "Okay, they're gone!"
Guy: "Why did I have to get the script that has me saying the most obvious thing ever?"
