Do you use walkthroughs in your D/P/PT?

As you read in the title, do you use walkthroughs in your D/P/PT? I am a begginner so I use walkthroughs, but not for D/P/PT.

I've only used them for things like getting through Mt. Coronet.. I hate not knowing where to go in caves or things like it.

Moltres111 March 22nd, 2010 5:24 AM

For Diamond, I didn't. I had watched a Platinum walkthrough before though, so I kinda knew what to do.

For Platinum, I had to watch it again, because I forgot how to do the Distortion World. xD

alphabetsoup102062 March 22nd, 2010 11:55 PM

Yeah, I do. Partly because the one for Platinum had the National Pokedex in it, so I didn't have to keep checking on the internet for where Pokemon were.

Christopher March 23rd, 2010 11:18 AM

No I like blundering about trying to figure out which way to go while training along the way

Kikaito plush March 23rd, 2010 11:21 AM

we only check gamefaqs once, stupid rock climb hm hard to find

Kristine March 23rd, 2010 2:24 PM

I have the D/P Strategy Guide and Pokedex Guide, and they've helped me a lot. I gave the Strategy Guide to my friend for her Diamond game after I beat Platinum, but I look stuff up in the Pokedex Guide pretty much every day. When I need info that isn't in the guide I look it up on Serebii. Although I did all the older Pokemon games without a guide, there's no way I'd want to play without it now.

PuffyChain March 23rd, 2010 3:05 PM

sometimes i use it... if i have stuck at difficult place...

Theodore Bruno March 23rd, 2010 3:08 PM

No way, takes away the challenge and the reward of actually finding what to do on your own. I never use a walkthrough on anything these days.

Dreadnought March 23rd, 2010 3:43 PM

Used Serebii and Bulbapedia mostly for stat checks and also pokemon rates of encounter in the wild.

Viral Panda March 23rd, 2010 6:43 PM

Personally, didn't use a walkthrough for Platinum (Didn't play Diamond/Pearl). In fact, I've never used a walkthrough for any of the Pokemon games.

Although, sometimes after I'd been on a certain route or in a cave for quite a while I checked Bulbapedia incase there were any Pokemon which appeared there that I'd want to pick up. I wouldn't really count that as a walkthrough though.

Froggy_00 March 23rd, 2010 7:19 PM

I don't remember if I used walkthroughs for my Diamond, but I didn't for Platinum. For some reason I seemed to know what to do all the time :D

Ha, thanks. I sure love that Pokeradar <3

Oh, and for the walkthroughs, I never buy the "book" versions that Nintendo sells. I always use Serebii's or Psypoke's online walkthroughs. I find them so much more insightful.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ March 24th, 2010 7:52 AM

I use the printed guides for maps and GameFAQS guides for everything else. I like having an exhaustive list of trainers, so I know which of my Pokemon to put at the front to pwn them.

aquatorrent March 24th, 2010 6:14 PM

if you says for beating the elite four, no.
i just checked walkthrough to see if i miss something or(and) want to catch something :D

akamichi March 24th, 2010 7:33 PM

I however only use a guide if im stuck at some places other than that nope.

560cool. March 26th, 2010 11:27 PM

I didn't ....

Only on my 2nd Playthrough on Pt. ! ;) I wanted to build an OK team to pass through the game and skip the COronet Annoyance ...

Ahh , my loving laptop ! :) Good times with him ... I just love that I have any FAQ on-the-go with that thing ! :D

arcanineflames23 March 27th, 2010 8:08 AM

For help I sometimes use http://www.pokemon.marriland.com/ :)

jmd34 March 27th, 2010 1:31 PM

I use Walktrhough out of any pokemon games until the elite 4 , simply to know if my pokemons are at a decent level or if I should train more :) , as for the puzzles etc , i prefer to do it myself

Sudeki March 27th, 2010 3:12 PM

I like the guides for games, just for information wise, I love to just read about my games and stuff, just love to learn all the information I can. :P

empty streets March 28th, 2010 1:28 AM

I don't remember the last time I used one.
But if walkthroughs like IV/EV/stat guides count, then yes, I use that pretty often.

Pokestick, good times. March 28th, 2010 6:15 AM

I got the Manual with the game (for christmas, yaaaay, I didn't have to pay), so it's natural that I got help from it. I probably wouldn't have gotten every Pokémon catchable in the game without it. But well... I like manuals :3
So yes. I used a walkthrough for Diamond. Platinum I already knew what was waiting, so I definitely didn't need one.

ShadowSalamence March 28th, 2010 6:52 AM

I once used a walkthrough for FireRed, which came with the game, but I don't use them for D/P/Pt.

michele March 30th, 2010 2:28 PM

i used to about a year ago, just to get myself started and to make sure i didn't miss anything. but i don't anymore.
