Pastoria City = Boston?

I just read on Bulbapedia that Pastoria City is based off of... Boston.

What the heck?

Am I the only one calling a serious load or is this for real? I see absolutely no resemblance whatsoever between Pastoria City and Boston.

Bulba is pulling a Wiki, methinks.

omgwtf Boston?! What does Pastoria, rain and mud, have to do w/ Boston? Hmmm...maybe they thought Boston was an eco-friendly, nice place so they based pastoria off of it by making the city feel more in tone with nature as possible?

Idk how, but isn't Sinnoh based off of Hokkaido, Japan? If so, then it might resemble some Japanese town or something.

Well, it actually says that it shares some similarities with the city of Boston, it is ACTUALLY based on a japanese city which I can't remember now, but it says in the article's Sinnoh listings.

Maybe it's from the anime version, not the game version!

Maybe it is based on the location plan, like the great marsh and Marshfield. And the water in pastoria (the one with boats) might be based on the river in Boston.

Pastoria, if my Geography is correct, is in the same position in Sinnoh as Kushiro is in Hokkaido. Kushiro Marsh is the largest marsh in Japan I think, or at least in Hokkaido, and that correlates with Great Marsh.

If you look at real Japan and compare it to the Pokemon nation you will notice many similarities. Eg. Jubilife is Sapporo, the largest city in Hokkaido. Mt. Silver is Mt. Fuji etc.

The list goes on. I can't think of any possible way Boston could be related to Pastoria. Canalave is a little similar, but still Pastoria has nothing do do with Boston.

I like to think that the Pokemon World is intended by its creators to be parallel to our own. Whether or not it is, or they just wanted to make regions more home-grown or geologically accurate we will never know.

I see no resemblance of Pastoria being based off of Boston whatsoever, actually.

What ? @[email protected]

Oh well , the pictures seem similar ... so Nintendo can't inspire of Japan anymore , so they inspire of AMERICA ? Anyways , they also say Orre was based on Arizona (deserts , wild landscape , etc.)

The Pokemon World is closer than we can imagine ! (:
