The Starters

Here are some Starter movesets i've been thinking of

Venasaur[adamant]
EVs - Att, hp, SpDef
sludge bomb
earthquake
sword dance
sleep powder/leech seed/return

So what if skarm and weezing owns it ^_^

Blastoise[modest]
EVs - hp, SpDef, SpAtt
yawn/haze
rapid spin
surf
ice beam/roar/rest/haze

Charizard - no need for anything here

Meganium[calm]
EVs - hp, SpDef, SpAtt
HP grass/ice
counter/reflect/light screen/earthquake
reflect/light screen/toxic
leech seed

Feraligator[adamant]
EVs - Att, Def, hp
earthquake
focus punch
rock slide/return
sword dance

Hum..........

Typhlosion[+Sp,-Def]
EVs - Att, Sp, SpAtt
fire blast
substitute
focus punch
rock slide/HP ice

Makes an ok skarmbliss counter
too bad its movepool sucks

Go ahead and attack away...........i'm cool wit it

Jhoto starters = useless, because they're ALL overshadowed by the other starters of the respective type.

as for Venusaur, that's just standard though I like Venusuar with both sleep and leech... so personally I'll ditch swords dance ^^; As for Blastoise, ack it's just hard to use well imho... or maybe it can't be well, either one. Tried to use one before, but either it dies in 2 hits with only moderate offensive power, or it's so defensive yet isn't good enough to be annoying like skarmweez or milotic.

Too bad the jhoto starters had to suck so much...........
Tyh would have been pretty good had it not been for the crappy movepool

For Typhlosion i can also go
Typhlosion[timid]@petaya berry
EVs - Sp, SpAtt, hp
HP ice
Flamethrower
substitute
sunny day

Too bad it sucks so much................sigh

Mostly because Blastoise can't be an effective tank of both physical and special damage. HP Electric is wasted on Blastoise, since you don't need to attack a water type, there are 5 other Pokemon capable of that.

EV: 252 Sp Att, 129 Sp Def, 129 HP
Nature: + Sp Def, - Att
Yawn/Haze
Surf/Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
Rest/Toxic/Haze/Yawn

Counter has its uses on blastoise as a surprise move
but EVs need to be considered.
I myself need rapid spin on any toise
just a preferrance

Toothache November 3rd, 2004 4:38 PM

I keep forgetting Blastoise can learn Rapid Spin.

EDIT: Sceptile Moveset

[email protected] Berry
EV: 252 Speed, 252 Sp Att, 6 Sp Def
Nature: + Speed, - Att
Dragon Claw
Crunch/Thunderpunch
HP Fire
Leaf Blade

So standard, but it works for me. I can see some Groudon abuse here - replace Leaf Blade with Solarbeam and Sceptile really rips. Thunderpunch is only if you have Emerald (for all flying types except Aerodactyl and Swellow, who are faster)
