Opponents and PP

is it just me or do the trainers and gym leaders and stuff you fight not have pp? while fighting clair, i was stalling her kingdra with my gyarados, and it used hydro pum 12 times. i was getting really annoyed. i was counting on it to lose pp after 5 er 10 i forget, but either way it was more than 10. so i dont get it, do their pokemon have pp or not?

kabigon March 29th, 2010 3:31 PM

Yeah I noticed this too, but I think they just have max pp on their moves, like they used items to increase the pp.

umbreon_4_life March 29th, 2010 3:41 PM

Their Pokémon probably do have PP, or like mentioned above, maybe the gym leaders were on a crazy shopping spree with like 1 million dollars and spent a fortune buying thousands of PP Ups! Or maybe Nintendo just screwed up and thought that nobody would notice! =D I don't know, but I've never noticed that before... Nice observation!

Hm, that didn't seem to happen for me. Lance definitely ran out of Thunder on his Dragonite. I know this because I used my Scizor and healed it to stall until he ran out of them.

ILoveDragonite March 29th, 2010 4:13 PM

Send out a ho-oh with pressure, they have pp.

Yusshin March 29th, 2010 4:21 PM

They definitely have PP but whether they give PP Up or not, I'm not sure. I can definitely tell when their Pokemon do run out of PP, though.

Kirbychu March 29th, 2010 4:25 PM

The NPCs do have PP, so it just could have been PP ups GF invested to tick you off.

Guy March 29th, 2010 4:31 PM

Like mentioned through a majority of the posts above, the NPCs - including Gym Leaders and Elite do have PP for their Pokémon. One example, is Went a Super Moderator of this forum. He recently battled Morty in Ecruteak City for his fourth Gym Badge. Morty's Gengar spammed his moves too much he ended up with nothing left other than Struggle (which every Pokémon can use once They're left with no more PP for their moves). this pretty much proves that NPC's Pokémon do have a limited PP.

Anyway, answers seem to basically be saying the same thing leaving little purpose for this thread now. So, I'm just going to go ahead and close it now.
