Have you ever.....

.... killed your brother or sister because they decide to delete your game of pokemon that you have put over 300 hours of play time into, collected numerous rare pokemon, with a lot of them maxed out at level 100 and EV trained?

Because I'm about to.

This ever happened to anyone else?

sandstone April 1st, 2010 1:05 PM

yerp.

their turn to play my ass

Sobriquet April 1st, 2010 1:06 PM

Actually it was one of my friends. His body is still in the attic somewhere.

Seriously though, calm down, it's happened to everyone and it's not a big deal. It feels bad at first but in the end it's just pixels.

Now this sir is a true fact. In the end its all just pixels. And remember when your about past 20's or maybe before or after. You'll stop playing pokemon. So does it really matter?

One of the benefits of being 15 years younger than the next oldest siblings it not having to put up with such shenanigans!

Happened once with my Blue version many years back. Brother said he thought he could do 'multiple saves'.

I had EVERYTHING collected in that game....

lamby101 April 1st, 2010 1:13 PM

They may be 'just pixels' but I've still put a lot of time into playing the game, starting from the beginning again just feels demoralising....

I prefer to see it as more of a "fresh start".

TechnoSparkX April 1st, 2010 1:36 PM

dont have any brothers or sisters :p

Guy April 1st, 2010 1:44 PM

Moved thread over to General Pokémon Gaming as it isn't so much about HG/SS, but more so all Pokémon games instead.

For me, I'm lucky to have a sister that knows not to touch my games, but her's instead. So, nope, can't say I've really experienced this one before. Though, it would be very frustrating to know you put in so much time and effort in one file and have it all gone in a simple blink of an eye because your sibling or friend started a new one. D: Although, with the newer games now, they have you press Up, Select, and B on the title screen before starting a whole new file. In HG/SS, they don't even warn you like in DPPt so even if someone did restart your game, if they didn't follow the Up, B, Select procedure, the new game file wouldn't save.

Timbjerr April 1st, 2010 1:49 PM

That's why Pokemon games come in pairs, so that you can have one and your brother can have one. :P

My brother and I fought like crazy over control of Yellow version and Crystal version though. XD

Limey-chan April 1st, 2010 2:36 PM

I have no siblings, but it has happened to me. Back in the day I made it my absolute mission to collect all the Pokémon on my Blue version and one summer i'd came pretty damn close (I only needed a handful more + Mew).

I (Stupidly) decided to lend this kid my Blue version, not knowing he was going to start a new game. Yeah, you can probably fill in the rest. Weeks of catching, evolving and trading and 140+ Pokémon completely wiped within the space of 5 minutes :(

Sneeze April 1st, 2010 2:43 PM

I never have lost the data on a Pokémon game, but I did loose my Ruby cartridge once (along with 5 other games, lost the wallet) I had >100 hours clocked and a level 100 team so I was a trifle annoyed, on an added note I have also had three corrupted memory cards in my history (1 PS1, 2 GC), in some ways that's worse because you loose the data for more than one game granted after the second time I decided to invest in another memory card for the sole purpose of backing anything anything important.

Legobricks April 2nd, 2010 7:40 AM

People seem keen enough to start a new game on a new version, why not on the same one? Why be so vengeful when you're just going to do exactly the same in five years time on the next generation?I've never had it happen though, I (without intention) instill fear in my siblings.

Luck April 2nd, 2010 7:47 AM

Nope, cause I'm the youngest :D
I actually deleted my brother's files on Final Fantasy Tactics when I was like 6 though and he was pissed.

BHwolfgang April 2nd, 2010 12:02 PM

I was really mad when my baby sister deleted my SoulSilver file. My team was so good... but I still have time to do everything again. So, I didn't kick her across the room poke her forehead. @[email protected]

peteed April 2nd, 2010 3:56 PM

beig an only child FTW? when my game gets reset I was the only one who did it :)

And this is why I don't let anyone else touch any of my games without me watching their every move.

I haven't ever had someone delete my game, but I have had my game cartridge stop working and erase my game file...twice: once with Blue version and once with Gold version.

Katie_Q April 2nd, 2010 11:13 PM

*cringes* Luckily for me my siblings are all grown up. My youngest brother is like... 20...21? None of them really care what games I'm playing and don't go near my ds. The also wouldn't be mean enough to do it. Seriously, I'm like a little princess in my family. A loved, spoilt princess.

インフェルノの津波 April 2nd, 2010 11:39 PM

Um....yes XD.

My sisters did it once. They're now decomposed. It was my Emerald Version. CURSE YOU ALL ;;

Micro SD April 3rd, 2010 6:34 AM

Nope :D

I always keep my games away from everyone else. Although one time someone tried to erase my save file. No one has heard from them since.

Zebeedoo April 3rd, 2010 8:19 AM

Haha, years ago I used to always shout at my younger brother for deleting my save files. I got so mad. But thankfully, he doesn't do that anymore so I'm safe. =)

Kikaito plush April 3rd, 2010 8:22 AM

The one who deleted my Pearl's file was Curtis's mum.. I can't do anythina against an old person can I ?

Lieutenant Unstable April 5th, 2010 7:01 PM

Yes. So many times. The worst being my Silver. Not only did my little brother save over my file, but the game quit saving after I restarted. So I was double peeved. >_>

Now, I don't let him touch crap. No, I'm not being selfish, MOM! He has an Xbox 360, but do I have a PS3? Noooo! *takes DS and PS2 and rocks back and forth in corner*

/////ignore that, XD
