Yeah but why the hell would you capture it and then release it? You're wasting Pokeballs and missing out on a nice chunk of Experience.

The Doctor April 13th, 2010 5:43 AM

I caught it and used it for elite four.

Matzzz April 13th, 2010 5:43 AM

if im honest i prefer the normal gyarados but i caught it anyway for the hell of it
unfortunatly now though a shiny gyarados is now worthless

Jonnsie April 13th, 2010 5:46 AM

To be honest:P I'm using it as a HM Slave:P
Mine knows, Waterfall, Surf, Whirpool and Strength xD

Saltare. April 13th, 2010 8:44 AM

Yeah, it's in my party.

I didn't have many good pokemon in my party, so Gyarados was a shoe-in to replace my Weepinbell...

Chunes April 13th, 2010 10:14 AM

I don't like the idea of having a shiny Gyarados in the game. It cheapens the shiny version of it to practically nothing.

I didn't end up using it because it had too much redundancy with Feraligatr (moveset and type) and Luxray (physical sweeper)

Rick. April 13th, 2010 10:15 AM

actually...

i actually used Reddie (nicked!) as an HM slave ...

AuroraHearts April 13th, 2010 10:21 AM

well i caught it and used it until i beat the whole game with it
i think i mainly kept it because

1)i had a spare place in my party at the time
2)i found it funny how the massive thing could follow you without water and how it could fit through doors and houses XD

Knitewulf April 13th, 2010 11:28 AM

Gyarados is a great sweeper in competitive battling. If anyone is stupid enough to let him get a Dragon Dance in let alone 2+ then its pretty much game over right there. He covers a wide type variety with Waterfall, Stone Edge, and Earthquake and he can do much needed damage. He isn't worthless at all. Whoever is saying that clearly needs to learn their pokemon :p.

Pokeon-Girl April 13th, 2010 11:42 AM

Red gyaradose is on my main team, I needed a water pokemon and who better than a shiney powerful one? The people who don't have gyaradose in their teams are fools! FOOLS I TELL YOU! haha jokes.

ayevdayev April 13th, 2010 11:44 AM

I raised it and put it in my team but I think I'm gonna switch it with suicune.

vamkatt April 13th, 2010 12:15 PM

I used it for the elite four.. but it wasnt one of the main pokemon i used, i gave it up after defeating Lance.

Emilio~ April 13th, 2010 1:31 PM

I caught it, but sadly, I didn't use it =( It had such a bad nature, I think it was something like raising def/sp.def and lowering attack o.o Sometimes I wish there were no natures in the in-game part.... I didn't have any luck with one of my favorites, Suicune, either. It had impish nature x.x

That's the exact moveset on mine.

Rocket Executive Josh April 13th, 2010 2:18 PM

I will catch it and train it a bit, but mainly it'll be an HM slave. Btw, if you have any ideas for an HM slave for Surf before I get Gyarados, please PM me.

Heart Gold April 13th, 2010 4:51 PM

I'm using Kingdra instead.

Eeohnex April 13th, 2010 6:02 PM

I'm just planning on capturing it, and hopefully get a good nature and then put it on my PC. Maybe I might EV train it later.

This is in-game we're talking about, pal. Yes, it's a powerhouse in competitive battles, but anyone that is even stupid enough to let it Dragon Dance more than once, like you said, is idiotic and doesn't deserve to be a competitive battler. It's like TTar.

In-game doesn't equivalate to competitive.

Edgar tan weng kin April 14th, 2010 3:19 AM

it sucks.....so many people have.....

alster08 April 14th, 2010 1:20 PM

I loved the Red Gyrodos but not as much to keep it in my party.

Master Kavar April 14th, 2010 9:19 PM

bruteroot April 15th, 2010 2:43 AM

I love my red gyarados! It's one of the best water types ever and he saved when it came to battling Clair. Good times XD

Master Kavar April 15th, 2010 3:04 AM
