Alignment April 11th, 2010 7:47 AM

That layout looks awesome, will it be available to ALL hacks in the hack showcase?
How far in the future is this away?

hi sir tomato my password is syvniti April 11th, 2010 7:49 AM

Make it say what it is a hack of!

Giga Universe April 11th, 2010 8:00 AM

This sounds awesome. It also will give people more incentive to get into the Hack's Showcase, and could up the overall quality of hacks. Those achievements sound cool, maybe make a list of them outside the thread in the subforum(no pictures). There should be ones for storyline, music and other awards (HotW and HotM).

Logan April 11th, 2010 8:15 AM

Well, HotM's award will be given in the acheivements section. HotW isn't staff ran and is therefore not going to be allowed in the award section. (You can make a manual section, just not our system.)

Mr.Silver April 11th, 2010 8:33 AM

LE GASP!!.......This is amazing.....Though its not surprizing considering it came out of the mods brains.

Tropical Sunlight April 11th, 2010 8:51 AM

Oooh looks good.
How much time do you think it'll take?

Logan April 11th, 2010 8:54 AM

It'll be out as soon as Audy is un-busy and has time to code it. (Probably a few weeks.)

Vrai April 11th, 2010 9:20 AM

I love it. :>

I can't wait to see all the achievements you guys are going to make. Hopefully it'll be an incentive for people to post their hacks and update and stuff. :D

Full Metal April 11th, 2010 9:38 AM

yay! we get 100% width :D
just one question though, will we need any special tags for setting up the layout?
Fire-buggin' stuff like that takes more time than i care to give.
too bad i usually just do rom-bases (i enjoy graphics work, which is why the majority of my time is spent there) so yea...this looks nice ^-^

NarutoActor April 11th, 2010 3:20 PM

How sounds like a great idea. It makes all the hacks look so professional. <3

I don't think that having the first post being repeated on each page would make too much of a difference overall. I mean, most (logical) people are going to read the first post, well, first, and all of the people who have read it already and are proceeding to read the following pages have, um, read it already. :>

The only thing/people that it would really affect, I think, are the dolts who skip to the end and don't read the first post (which makes no sense in the first place) and it's entirely their own fault for doing that.

Zeffy April 11th, 2010 5:49 PM

Wow, that is so cool. I can't wait to see it implemented. Other from the HotM award, what are the other awards that will be included in the achievements panel?

The Cynic April 11th, 2010 11:51 PM

Looks smexy! Hopefully there are no bugs...

Ivysaur April 12th, 2010 10:01 AM

Well, I can just say it will be a really great evolution for the Hacks Showcase. Good luck with the project, it will really help us check all the hacks around with ease.

Lord Varion April 12th, 2010 11:00 AM

Loooooks
Gooooooooooood

When is it gonna be done

Well, it's not such a bad idea because it's much easier for readers to see any changes or updates to the hack. I know I usually only read the first post once unless I'm looking for something specifically. And it's sometimes tedious to sift through pages of the more popular hacks to find updates because of all of the borderline spam posts in hacks such as Light Platinum or Crono. Honestly, I wouldn't mind the first post being at the top of every page.

But this does look really cool I must admit. I can't wait to see it implemented. :)

You should totally read the whole thread for once. That would be nice.

Ah, I see what you mean. I just couldn't think of any reason to have it there, but I suppose there's no reason not to. That certainly makes sense. :>

Aljam April 12th, 2010 3:58 PM

How are you going about the sceenshots? Like, It would be cool if you had like an album page for screenshots or something.

PokemonLeagueChamp April 12th, 2010 4:37 PM

Looks cool. Azure oughta look great in there if it makes it to hacks showcase when it makes it to hacks showcase.

Kobold Asylum April 13th, 2010 10:25 AM

I'm really liking this. I intend to use this for my hack when it is finished. Will all hacks be required to have the page?

Binary April 13th, 2010 12:03 PM

I really like the layout. It looks more organized. Let's hope it wont take too much of a long time xD.

Matteron (96) April 13th, 2010 12:31 PM

Could this be implemented into the hacks showcase as well?

I don't see why they wouldn't want it, so yeah, most likely. I'm not the voice of Hiroshi or any of the Emulation staff, but that's what I think.

Um it's for the Hacks Showcase >:

You probably mean the Progressing Hacks. :P

I really doubt it will be for use in that section because it's not needed nearly as much. Not very many hacks there have releases or downloads. Most don't have any achievements worth noting, nor would they receive any of the new achievements created for this. So I don't see them implementing it there.

And the amount of threads it would have to be put onto in the progressing hacks subforum is a lot more than the amount that make it to the showcase.

Anyway, I love the look :)

Matteron (96) April 13th, 2010 2:01 PM

Ya, sorry, I meant Progressing hacks, and I understand, it makes sense that it can't be used for progressing hacks.

NiKaNoRoU April 14th, 2010 1:03 AM

That is a great asset you're developing there, Jake. I'm definately looking forward to it and the hacks that use it.

Mrchewy April 14th, 2010 8:36 AM

I'm just hoping this change also comes to the Game Dev section, considering the "Games Showcase" is almost completely identical to "Hacks Showcase".

Logan April 14th, 2010 8:51 AM

Um, no. This is for the Hacks Showcase. Not the Games Showcase.

Mrchewy April 14th, 2010 7:29 PM

Manipulation, if you actually read what I said, I'm well aware this change is currently going to be for the Hacks Showcase alone. All I was suggesting is that it be expanded to the Games Showcase as well.

While game dev is definitely a bit different from hacking, I can't see why they can't manipulate it slightly and make it more suitable for Games Showcase as well. It'd probably be up to whoever mods there (Neo-Dragon, right?) though.

Logan April 15th, 2010 2:05 AM

No, I read what you said. And I'm saying it's not being implemented there because this was made specifically for the Hacks Showcase and nowhere else.

Wichu April 15th, 2010 2:13 AM

The proposed layout would also be suited for the Games Showcase, though. The only difference would be the available achievements. Surely you could talk to Neo-Dragon or Avatar and arrange something?

Logan April 15th, 2010 2:14 AM

Uh, maybe... I'll go talk to Avatar on IRC or something.

Blackberry April 15th, 2010 5:21 AM

I heard that the change will be only implemented in Hacks Showcase, correct me if I'm wrong. XD

My suggestions is that it should be also implemented in Progressing Hacks due to the reason that there are some awards that can be awarded to some of the threads in there, It's not only HOTY Award or the HOTM Award but there's also some that I have seen in Hiroshi's post. : 3

That's just my suggestion.

Ninja Caterpie April 15th, 2010 5:28 AM

Lol, Manipulation, you sound like a kid going "MY SUPER SECRET SPECIAL IDEA OF SPECIAL!"

OT: I like the idea, makes for a more professional view of awesome.

Logan April 15th, 2010 5:42 AM

Okay, so. We're some guinea pigs for something special. :D If all goes well, the usage will go out in all the 'Creative' forums.

Tropical Sunlight April 16th, 2010 1:08 AM

...That's very soon. :)
Just don't rush it too much.

Splash April 17th, 2010 2:10 PM

wow cant w8 4 dis feature...

colcolstyles April 17th, 2010 9:44 PM

So who decides how many stars a hack gets? Or are those stars representative of something else, like progress?

Presumably that's the thread rating. :D

...although I can certainly see that it could mean something else.

Spherical Ice April 17th, 2010 11:59 PM

Yeah I'm 99% sure those stars are the thread rating. XD

Esmas April 22nd, 2010 3:14 PM

Looks incredibly efficient. Hope to see it in action soon! 8D

LightOfTruth April 23rd, 2010 8:26 AM

Its a nice idea and I think it should be implemented :)
