How fast do you EV train your pokemans?

I just maxed out my teddiursas attack ev (whooo!!) and it only took me about 45 mins, how fast do you max out your evs?

Moltres111 April 11th, 2010 2:31 PM

Well, here's how you EV train in Platinum:

HP: I ev train for hp on the route with that move tutor guy that teaches your pokes the elemental punches and trick, and I ALWAYS seem to run into wild tentacool there too which WRAPS the pokemon I switch into to run away from them, then I have to catch them since I don't want their stupid SpDef EVs
Atk: easy enough, just fish in the water in twinleaf
def: ruin maniac cave, geodudes
SpA: golducks in resort area
SpD: can't remember, haven't EV trained for SpDef in ages
Spe: poliwhirls and poliwags on the freaking sandstorm route which makes it take ages because of the stupid sandstorm thing

so yeah, EV training in Pt is a pain in the ass, which makes me use like one hour EV training one stat. -.-

my entire list of EV trained pokemon in Pt: Azelf, Jirachi, Metagross, Giratina, Metagross (I think, don't ask me why I have two), Rotom, Porygon-Z (I think), Froslass (I think I EV trained it), Typhlosion, Empoleon, Togekiss (i'm not sure if I ev trained it right tho), Jirachi (I have one special and one physical), Dialga, Swampert, Breloom (I think), TTar, Gliscor, Scizor, Scizor (one for legendaries catching, one for competitive use), Darkrai (I think I ev trained it), Infernape, Tentacruel (not mine, but I know it's EV trained), Ambipom (my friend ruined it though, so I need to get a new one [he deleted fake out]), togekiss (yea I have two of them, one T-Wave+Roost and one scarf), Machamp, Starmie (I think), Gallade (not sure if it's ev trained really), Salamence (Not mine, but I know it's ev trained) and that's pretty much it.

Not really that impressive but oh well. xD

It takes me usually 45 minutes if i have maxed out the base stats from the EV boosting items (calcium protein) along with infected pkrs and power items. If i lack one it takes about 1.5 hours i guess.
It doesnt take me too longs. :\

EmeraldSerenade April 11th, 2010 2:56 PM

Probably an hour or so, it takes me a while since im super slow -_____-

reyzn April 11th, 2010 2:57 PM

I just started EV'ing, so I'd say an hour or two but I'm just super slow in general cause I don't want to mess up =x

Tree_x April 11th, 2010 2:59 PM

Withing the hour i am never rushing through for after hatching eggs after eggs to get the iv's i want the hard work is over and i just like to casually ev train takes a hr sometimes longer depending on how slow i am being plus i am awful at math so i have to calculate everything and write it down

Tsavo April 11th, 2010 2:59 PM

One hour from start to finish with PKRS and power items. Speed EVs are quite easy with the Eterna x6 Magikarp fisherman in P/D.

Kirbychu April 11th, 2010 3:22 PM

It takes me about half-an-hour for a standard 252/252/4 set.

Same for me. I'm still new to the whole thing, so I make sure I keep track of all of them and everything.

Enigma April 11th, 2010 3:46 PM

It takes me only 30 minutes. Not too long.

Destiny Bond April 11th, 2010 5:13 PM

I used those steroids they sell in the market, followed by training them up levels

Mimikyu402 April 12th, 2010 12:58 AM

For me it takes around 30 min to fully ev a pokemon thanx to vitamins, pokerus, and power items

Ya, same here. I was lucky enough to get a pokerus Relicanth in Sapphire, so I transferred it to Platinum to infect others :D I don't even use vitamins, only power items and the 'rus.

sandstone April 12th, 2010 12:03 PM

Gooner_Tyzack April 12th, 2010 12:11 PM

With power items, pokerus, and no vitamins it takes around 45 minutes depending on the amount of pidgey that want to show up.

I regret spending ~200k on sp.atk and speed vitamins for my espeon, when i could have just trained a little longer for free, so I don't use vitamins anymore.

Xebelleon April 12th, 2010 4:47 PM

Takes me a few hours to all night long. Pain in the butt. Most of the reason behind my not battling.

My Xbox is the rest of the reason.

BHwolfgang April 12th, 2010 4:49 PM

It usually takes me a very long time, since I don't want to mess up. Even then, I would always came across an annoying trainer that have the Pokemons with the wrong EV points.

I still have a hard time finding good EV spots.

I use gamefaqs' platinum EV guide...it groups pokemon and trainers by EVs given out. I believe they have one for D/P, too, but I'm not sure on that one.
