SID? (Secret ID)

I seem to have a lot of troubles figuring out my SID. I have followed the smogon guide but that didn't work, I understand everything in the guide just do not know why I keep getting my SID wrong. You see I am using the RNG and as you know you need your SID. My ID number is 24784, please help me. Thanks

Since the only game you can RNG on is DPPt, I'll just move this there.

Are you sure you're checking for the SID correctly? IIRC, you can't find your SID without having caught a NATURAL Shiny - chained shinies won't count for that game. (There's also the matter of the two SIDs, depending on the shiny pokemon - for example, my shiny Infernape, according to that guide, gives me two possible SIDs... I haven't taken the time to try and figure out which one is the right one, hahaha!)

Barring that, it might just be a math problem in how you added the values together? *shrug*

Uh.. what? You can do it on any game as long as you know what you're doing.

The best way is to find someone who has an AR and get into a trade with them to check your SID.

Whats a secret ID for anyway?

It's a secret, hidden value based on your trainer ID that determines your pokemon's IDs in return. A pokemon's ID, or PID, can be thought of their DNA - the code tells the game whether it's a male or female, what nature it is, what species it is if a breed can result in two various pokemon (Miltank/Tauros), and even whether or not the pokemon is Shiny. (The pokemon's IVs are not determined by its PID; they're determined by another forumla-!)

IIRC, the SID isn't necessary for RNG-abuse breeding; the main purpose of knowing your SID is to predict RNG for shiny, perfect pokemon.

Yes I have caught a natural shiny actually, a shiny Weepinbell which is now a Victreebel. Silly me! I forgot to put the stats, anyway the stats are:
Lv: 51
HP: 153
Atk: 138
Def: 72
Sp. Atk: 122
Sp. Def: 68
Spd: 70
Oh and it's nature is Brave
Does this help at all? :)

You can actually figure it out using RNG Reporter with chained shinies provided you have 4-8 ( I believe) of them.
