DynamicPunch/Zap Cannon
No... noooo.... NOOOOOO!!!
*cries* My _fondest_ Silver/Crystal memory was having an ampharos, with the moves Zap Cannon and DynamicPunch. I remember playing the elite four, and then someone would throw me a rock pokemon and "Dynamic punch!" It was fun, the 50% odds of the moves working, 100% chance of confusion or paralyzing something... I trained my Mareep, and got my Ampharos, and I kept waiting to find the dynamic punch tm, it never happened... and now I finally found out, those TMs aren't available in the new SS/HG :( D: O: This is such a let down for me... If I was a hacker I'd totally teach them to my ampharos :( Hacker program, "Come... come to the dark side..." lol. The main point of this thread, is to ask you guys if the new movesets/TMs changed your play through of the game? How did the move changes affect your tactics? (Bug move by ampharos is fun... psychic elite four guy here I come! :)) |
i was devo when i found out mega punch and mega kick weren't tms :(
my poor primape will never learn them now :( |
i was soooo peaved that you could not get Brick break in HG/SS grr that move was good with my weavile "sigh"
|
I was also disappointed by Mega Punch and Mega Kick not being TM's, i was gonna teach Heracross it. :( Oh well, Close Combat is still a decent fighting move. :D
|
I think i'm gonna miss my Ice Punch Alakazam, well i always can teach that move in Platinum but it was fun buy a Ice Punch TM and see how Alakazam destroy anything. Such a good times...
|
I wanted Curse! Trick Room + Curse on Porygon2 would have been near perfect! :'[
Oh well, now that Dark Pulse is purchasable, I can now train more Porygon-Zs. |
I know about the Zap Cannon. I used Pachirisu as an alternate starter, and wanted to have the following moveset:
Zap Cannon Discharge Super Fang Sweet Kiss But I had to swap in Thunder for Zap Cannon. :( |

To the topic. I missed elemental punches... Muscle (traded Machoke) was awesome in my G/S/C with Ice and Thunder Punches :D |
i was shocked when i found thunderpunch isnt a tm any more i use to own with having it on my typhlosion golbats and flying types and water types taken care of
|
I wanted Tri-Attack TM....)=
I wish that the game corner didn't make it practically impossible to get Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, etc. |
I miss a lot of the TM's that were in G/S/C. I will say that there is a change I was really happy about in D/P/Pt, and that's the increased power of some of the attacks/HM's. The increased damage for Rock Smash and Fly were great (both went up 20 points!). Rock Smash is actually a pretty worthy attack now...at least if you teach it to an Adamant Machamp. lol I do miss the Element Punches, though, along with the likes of Curse, Tri-Attack, Dizzy Punch, Mud Slap, Nightmare...the list could go on.
|
I've wanted to replace the HM moves on some of my Pokemon, but with the distinct lack of the elemental punches, I'm stuck on ideas of what moves to replace them with... so needless to say, Typhlosion still has Cut and Strength, and Ampharos still has Rock Smash :/
|
D= I feel the same way! About Zap Cannon, I mean. My Espeon can't pwn water types nao =(
Intro post was funny btw xD And I REALLY miss Thunderpunch. I was holding off on catching an electric type 'cause I was assured my Nidoking could learn Thunder Punch D: |
My Espeon was going to have Zap Cannon, but alas.
Also bummed we don't have Fissure or Horn Drill anymore, but for a more sinister reason. |
The elemental punches were easily among the best TMs back in Gen. 2
I was sad they weren't around =/ |
I don't get why some of you were shocked when you first got it to figure out that the games had the new TM's. If you look on any good pokemon website that handles game updates they said that. =/
Oh, how I do miss the Elemental Punches. ;( |
God the Elemental Punches were oh-so useful.... I really do miss them too :/
|
I too miss the elemental punches. They were so awesome.
|
Yah, that'd save a lot of breeding in order to get like a frikkin' electivire with ice punch.
Or a weavile D: |
I miss the Elemental Punches :(
|
Yeah...Fire Punch/Ice Punch/Thunder Punch will be missed.
I always had a Furret in GSC to learn all three. XD |
It didn't bother me that much actually, knowing that my platinum version really helped me to learn a few "fangs" mooves, just by using shards, I got some elemental punch mooves as well.
|
You can still get the elemental punches by paying a visit to a move tutor in a house in front of the Pokemon Frontier.
|
I just miss the elemental punches. They looked so cool in the original game.
The elemental fangs are pretty cool tho |
