Happiness Levels - What Else Are They Good For?

So I know that a Pokemon's Happiness and attachment to you/the user affects things like evolution and Shiny Leaves and how strong a Happiness-related move like Return is, but... is there anything else it also affects that I am not aware of?

Anything else related to gameplay or Pokemon battles?

Does it/can it affect a Pokemon's performance?

Sorry if this is a newbish topic; I'm more or less completely new to the game series and I tried searching for more information (here, elsewhere) without any results.

Happiness has no effect on the gameplay other than the things you mentioned.

Answered, so going to just put the lock on this. Next time, it's probably best you ask all questions in the HG/SS Help Thread. ;)
