err... shall we just use the standard Gengar?

Gengar- [speed + / atk or def -] @ lum berry
EV: sp.atk, speed
-thunderbolt
-psychic
-destiny bond
-focus punch (anti Blissey) or substitute or giga drain

Toothache November 3rd, 2004 4:41 PM

Could either use:

[email protected]/Petaya Berry
EV: 252 Sp Att, 252 Speed, 6 Sp Def
Nature: + Sp Att, - Att
Psychic
Giga Drain
Thunderbolt
Destiny Bond

Or the anti Skarmbliss version:
[email protected]/Lum Berry
EV: 252 Speed, 129 Att, 129 Sp Att
Nature: + Speed, - Def
Focus Punch
Thunderbolt
Psychic
HP Dark/Giga Drain/Destiny Bond

i think a combo of psy and giga are better. use hypnosis, dreameaster, nightshade, and then thunderbolt/toxic.

Thanks for the advice, but I really don't like Destiny Bond (aimed towards Frosty, and Toothy).

kirby00 November 3rd, 2004 7:06 PM

ya its like alast mintue thing like self d or exploision. if u do want sumthing similar however, try grudge. (when gengar dies, the oppoents pp for the final move is 0)

Toothache November 3rd, 2004 7:09 PM

If you had the choose to either take them with you when you get KOed, or just remove the PP from one move, I know which one I'd choose. I think the point Mullet is trying to make here is he doesn't want to have his Gengar KOed though. Problem with Gengar is he doesn't have so great defences, so after one or two hits it's either you KO or you get killed. Destiny bond gives you that last-ditch attempt against something with full HP that comes to sweep you away.

kirby00 November 3rd, 2004 7:10 PM

maybe replace dream eater w/ nightmare, then they will surely switch for u to toxic, then sweep w/ t-bolt or nightshade
or to go safely, hynosis, mean look, nightmare, toxic/nightsahde/ t-bolt
keep using hynosis until it hits, w/ bright powder it will help kkeep it alive even tho it has low defs, use mean look. or maybe vice-versa incase they switch right after sleep...

you can't go safely with hypnosis since its accuracy is too low, if it misses gengar has a problem :)
