Payday October 21st, 2011 11:07 PM

I was about to write how it is far too soon for a remake of these games, but then I found out they were released in '03. This makes me feel REALLY OLD, because I still play them all the time. It also makes me think the time is right for a remake, and I agree that because they are not compatible with the 3DS, they should come fairly soon, maybe once the 3DS fully replaces the DS.
Exciting!

I would love to hear the Groudon VS Kyogre music again! Now I really can't wait for the remakes.

It honestly doesn't seem like RS is coming upto it's 10 year annivesary next year. It seems like it's only a few years young I mean it's been almost 3 years since HGSS... how time flys eh?

Which means the 3rd game will come first.

I think what Suicune means is that time has flown by so fast that it doesn't seem like they really are near 10 years old.

I really hope the R/S/E remakes are on the ds, because I dont have a 3Ds and I really want the Hoenn remake. Hoenn is my favourite region, it has the best pokemon and so much variety.
I hope that Brendan/May get to use the final evolution of their stater and Wally should be involved more.
Agreeing with moto imagine if after beating the E4 we get to launch the rocket at mossdeep and go to the moon. With only wild lunatones and solrocks up there. Then jirachi appears and is about to battle you. But then Team Plasma/Galactic appears and steals Jirachi. After rescuing her she finally battles you and you can catch her.

blue October 23rd, 2011 2:16 AM

I'd like to see it on 3DS because I think that will make people buy it more, and that's what Hoenn needs.. more fans because it's so underated.. besides I think it would be the 3DS' best seller, either that or Mario Kart 7.

Mircea Dan October 23rd, 2011 2:19 AM

I'd like this game to be like HG/SS... And with no Unova Pokemons...
Hope the remake would be for Nintendo DS!

Yeah, that's a good point... Hoenn might not suit Unova style graphics 3D. If they were to include Unova Pokémon it would only be a certain few and that would be post-storyline.

thefacelessone64 October 23rd, 2011 3:33 AM

i believe that since they got rid of the gba cart compatability, "the pokemon company" (whatever happened to good ol' gamefreak?) will probably get around to remaking fire red and leaf green eventually. i immediately saw the loss of gba cart support as an opportunity for nintendo to re-release the first 3 generations. i just hope they drop leaf green, and make maybe sea blue or something instead :P

as for the rse remakes, i certainly hope they do! but not too soon, as i have yet to replace my stolen ds and my soul silver, diamond and black versions. as soon as i can scrounge up enough cash, that is. till then, i'm content with my emerald version, which i'm currently playing through atm. after my next paycheck, i gotta go get a copy of fire red so i can finally trade my complete pokemon collection from yellow and crystal to emerald, then transfer to platinum (i want that more than diamond, i wanna see what goodies they added), then to trade to soul silver, then to black. Nintendo sure likes to keep me busy...

samurott77 October 23rd, 2011 5:11 AM

I doubt they would reremake rby because the point of frlg and hgss was to make it so you could catch every Pokemon in one generation. They only kanto game I could see coming would be maybe a yellow remake but that's really it. I would bet the kanto johto ( the johto starter allready are available in emerald) and sinnoh starters will he available post game like in hgss. I just hope that the nontoxic starters are available before you complete the hoenn dex because doing that is a pain. I would bet Prof oak will make appearences throught the story and after Steven is defeated then he will give you charmander squirtle or bulbasaur and maybe Cynthia will give you piplup chimchar or turtwig. I would assume you get totodile cyndaquil or chicorita in the same way as emerald.

The Pokémon Company were established in 1998 to deal with the larger Pokémon franchise as as whole. They don't make games, they just manage marketing events and oversee production of spin-off games by other developers.

GlaciaFox October 23rd, 2011 6:06 PM

7. If you talk to one of the people in the Celadon Mansion, they will say "We are remaking an old game, but this is quite a challenge. Old fans would not want usw to mess with their good memories..."

that one was completely obvious. now, why would they say that in the first place?? also, in a game, hinted many times before.

when it does come out, im sure to buy it. n if they hint something in there as well, we're sure to know the pattern and know for sure if theres another one coming in.

i also noticed in black and white games after you beat the game that most of the pokemon you can get in the new routes are hoenn pokemon.

Oryx October 23rd, 2011 6:15 PM

Tbh, that remaking thing I would more likely attribute to the fact that it's IN a remake rather than hinting at another remake.

Ciax October 24th, 2011 12:15 AM

Wait heres an idea. R/S/E remakes on BOTH 3Ds and the DS. I mean eventually I will get a 3DS but I'm not even old enough for a job yet for another year, so it's at least a year until I buy one. I think they would sell more copies if it was on both systems.
What do you guys think?

The 100 Mega Shock October 24th, 2011 2:24 AM

That's implausible because they have enough work making a game for a single system as it is.

Why do we need to play the exact same game again for the third time running?
What do we gain from being able to revisit Kanto, when every Kanto Pokémon can already be obtained through playing HG/SS on your new 3DS and DSi system?

Fire Red and Leaf Green are probably the cheapest, and therefore worst Pokémon games they've made. Sure, the game looks pretty for the GBA and the engine works this time, but they made no effort to modernise the rest of the game to the standards of story and design they did with Ruby and Sapphire. Now after Black and White represented a massive jump in the quality of the storytelling they'd look even more bare-bones and archaic today. Trying to do the same thing again with more pretty graphics would be terrible - unless they went back to Red and Blue and redesigned the game to bring them up to the standards of today's games in every other way.

Why would they risk the ire of making something seen as a "remake of a remake" or conversely, a game that needs to be totally remade from scratch to not be seen as a lazy effort, when they could spend that time making games that will be received much better?

It's been awhile since we talked about this but you are completely wrong. Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen had heavy sales. In Japan they sold over 2000 copies in the first week of it's release! And if you think it's the most cheapest game out there then you are wrong. If it's the "cheapest game" then how did they get to be 2 of the Players Choice games? I'm just saying that they might make a remake of FireRed & LeafGreen since the graphics are outdated. I'm not saying they will make a remake but one thing for sure I'm 100% positive that they will make Ruby & Sapphire remakes.

The 100 Mega Shock October 24th, 2011 6:01 AM

You can't deny that of all of their recent games, FR/LG had the smallest amount of people working on it. It's no stretch to look at them and see that they spent the least amount of money judging by how little new content there is compared to HG/SS, and that they were able to release FR/LG and Emerald in the same year. They still sold less than HG/SS too, and HG/SS cost a lot more due to the Pokéwalker pack-in.

They have too many other games to make to have time to remake Red and Blue again.

blue October 24th, 2011 6:02 AM

It's inevitable for RS remakes, it's just a matter of time really but I do see them being the last unless graphics enhance greatly in 10 years making the DPPT graphics looks shoddy.

The 100 Mega Shock October 24th, 2011 6:04 AM

D/P already look ugly to a lot of people, especially because they suffer from "Developers' first attempt at low-quality 3D graphics" syndrome.

Of course they will look even worse in another 5 or 6 years. Seven years ago the DS could boast graphics like a Playstation and the PSP had the potential to rival early PS2 games. Now the 3DS can go toe-to-toe with a Gamecube and the Uncharted game for PS Vita almost looks as good as the original for PS3. Computer technology - especially in small portable devices - is always improving, and the improvements in technology allow developers to make games that were never possible on older systems. Look at Final Fantasy VII, then look at Final Fantasy X. More importantly, look at Diamond and Pearl or Ruby and Sapphire, then look at Gale of Darkness.

I guess your sort of right there (although FR/LG was released a year before Emerald), I believe that Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen were also 39.99$ due to the Wireless Adapter. Sorry I was overreactive.

So you're betting that they would at least have Colosseum/XD graphics, but with a full overworld, etc. this time)? That's what a lot of us are hoping for with the 3DS. It's a little hard to tell though, considering how their 'first attempts syndrome' will probably come into play on the first core game for the 3DS.

blue October 24th, 2011 10:25 AM

10 years down the line I assume DPPT graphics will be like comparing RSE to BW.

We probably won't get any news until maybe Jump Festa at the earliest.
