i would sure like it :// but we got to wait

Kanto_Johto July 30th, 2010 1:59 PM

Yeah, I would. Contrary to a lot of people's opinions on here, I loved the Hoenn region. The gameplay and music were my favourite parts, as well as the new Pokemon, storylines and side quests.

A remake would seem a bit weird at first though, considering Ruby and Sapphire come from the same Generation as the 1st Gen remakes.

Even weirder - Once the Ruby and Sapphire remakes are out, people will be speculating Diamond and Pearl remakes.

pokehearts July 30th, 2010 3:23 PM

:) I would love to see a lucario whoop the crap out of stevens pokemon team

Agent Clank July 31st, 2010 9:18 AM

I most definently would but It!
Just think how remastered it would look.

Cobalt'Scizor August 1st, 2010 1:51 AM

Definitely yes, the remake would be awesome.

PalkiaSpace August 1st, 2010 7:17 AM

Well, to plan it out:

Gen I:
1998-Red & Blue (Duo)
1999-Yellow (Follow up)

Gen II:
2000-Gold & Silver (Duo)
2001-Crystal (Follow up)

Gen III:
2003-Ruby & Saphire (Duo)
2004-FireRed & LeafGreen (Remake of Gen I Duo)
2005-Emerald (Ruby & Saphire Follow Up)

Gen IV:
2007-Diamond & Pearl (Duo)
2009 -Platinum (Follow up)
2010-HeartGold & SoulSilver (Remake of Gen II duo)

Gen V:
2011-Black & White
__________________________________
Now, this was all the known information. Taking this information, one could make a good guess of the future:

Gen V:
2011-Black & White (Duo)
~2012-????? (Follow Up)
~2013-????? & ????? (Remake of Gen III Duo)

(If Pokemon goes to Gen VI)

Gen VI:
~2015-New Duo
~2016-Follow up
~2017-Gen IV Remake

Now some people were saying it would feel to soon for a Gen IV remake after Gen V, but look, By the possible time it would be released, it would be 10 years apart, and the graphics would be even way better than B/W.

Note: not to be rude but this is really urking me, people keep saying they want a remake of the follow up game and that hgss is a remake of crystal: By the time they get remade, they mix the storylines of the three games, including the suicune plot, and still give you the lugia/ho-oh storyline twisted in. They most likely will remake the duo with the features of the follow up's features.

But anyway, yes I am a semi hater of Hoenn-based games, but Seeing it in B/W 3D would be awsome. So yes, like any pokemon game, (if i like it or not) I probably will buy both.

A remake of RS will definately happen. Although, since Black and White are being released on the DS, it'll be interesting to see how they do it. I suppose there's still no reason not to remake RS, just because it'd be on the DS.

Anyway, an RS remake would be interesting, to say the least. I wonder who the Champion'd be? Steven or Wallace? (Since there was no real need to make Wallace the Champion in the first place, they could go either way with it).

I seriously doubt that the rest of 5th Gen will be on DS, because the DS is pretty much dead by the time 2011 hits. The DS came out in 2004. I have a strong feeling that the rest of 5th Gen will be on 3DS, just like how in 2nd Gen they moved from GB to GBC, I think they'll move from DS to 3DS.

Also about who will be the Champion, it's interesting to note that in HG/SS, when Steven appears for the first time in Vermilion City, he introduces himself as the Hoenn Champion, even though as of 2005 (Pokemon Emerald) Steven is not the Hoenn Champion. Either they made a mistake, or they deliberately said that because they're planning on making Steven the Champion again.

I think Steven fits as a much better Champion as Wallace, and here's why:
*Steven was originally designed as the Champion
*Wallace was originally designed as a Gym Leader
*In D/P/Pt, the Champion, Cynthia, meets up with you throughout the game. In R/S, Steven's role is extremely similar to Cynthia's, he meets up with you throughout the game, and you find out he's the Champion.
*In Pokemon Emerald, Steven is just some random guy that meets up with you throughout the game. And you don't even see Wallace until you reach Sootopolis.
*Juan has absolutely no reason to exist.

The only thing I liked about Wallace being the Champion is that when I fought him for the first time in Emerald, I thought he was HARD. IMO, Wallace seemed a lot tougher than Steven. Though Metagross is a much more epic Pokemon of to end the Pokemon League than Milotic. After all, generally pseudo legendaries should be the Champion's strongest. Look at it this way:
FireRed/LeafGreen Champion signature: Lv63 or Lv75 Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise
- Okay, so none of those Pokemon are pseudo legendaries, but this is an exception, since your rival is the Champion. The final member of the Elite Four uses a pseudo legendary.

HeartGold/SoulSilver: Lv50 or Lv75 Dragonite
- Yep, pseudo legendary

Ruby/Sapphire: Lv58 Metagross
- Yep, pseudo legendary

Emerald: Lv58 Milotic
- A random Pokemon. wtf!?!?!?

Diamond/Pearl: Lv66 Garchomp
- Yep, pseudo legendary

Platinum: Lv62 or Lv78 Garchomp
- Yep, pseudo legendary

So generally, I think Steven & Metagross is much more fitting as the Champion's final Pokemon than Milotic, since the majority of the Champion's use a pseudo legendary as their strongest Pokemon.

Actually, Gen I went like this:

February 1996 - Red & Green (Duo, Japanese release)

October 1996 - Blue (Original follow up, Japanese release)

1998 - Yellow (Anime-based spinoff, Japanese release)

1998 - Red & Blue (Duo, translated from Japanese Blue. Basically it's the Japanese Blue version with wild Pokemon from Red & Green, plus it's been translated to English. American release)

1999 - Yellow (American release. In America it's considered a follow up, but in Japan it's just an extra fourth game)

Yeah, I only meant the N.A. Releases. :)

And I never thought of that... Who would be champion? I liked how Steven was kind of like Red in Emerald though. I hate Wallace, and Juan is just... No.

Perriechu August 1st, 2010 12:49 PM

Of Course they would Remake them, starting with Gen 3 we've got a remake in all of them
3rd Gen = FRLG
4TH Gen = HGSS
5th Gen = ?? Probably MRAS

BlazingShadow August 2nd, 2010 11:20 PM

I really hope that they will make a remake of Pokemon Ruby,Sapphire and Emerald those game rocks.

Perry_ August 3rd, 2010 3:45 AM

I'd really like it if they made gen 3 all in to just two games. A game that remakes Ruby with Fire Red and Sapphire with Leaf Green + Emerald Features.

It's possible, Nintendo knows they could massively capitalize on this. Considering the fandom HG/SS got with two regions and also considering it would be awkward to remake firered and leafgreen as stand alone title. I reckon Nintendo would profit greatly from putting them both together. They'd pull in the hardcore pokemon crowd instantly.

Spiky-Eared Pichu August 5th, 2010 2:37 AM

I'm pretty sure that Ruby and Sapphire will have remakes. And I think that they're not far away, because in 2012 it will be the 10th anniversary of the original games.

hack1 August 5th, 2010 2:52 AM

I think yes. After B&W are released, it's only region with no 3D. (If you count Gen IV as 3D)
Kanto: Red&Green, Blue, Yellow, Gold&Silver, Fire Red&Leaf Green, Heart Gold&Soul Silver
Johto: Gold&Silver, Crystal, Heart Gold&Soul Silver
Hoenn:Ruby&Sapphire, Emerald
Sinnoh: Diamond&Pearl, Platinum
Isshu: Black&White

So Hoenn is oldest region with 3 games (Isshu is current gen so it's not counted)

Aether★ August 5th, 2010 3:11 AM

I would like to see those remakes of course. I loved R/S very much.

okjoek August 6th, 2010 2:47 PM

Hell yea! I would be at it like a shot.

Here I am now Replaying my younger brothers saphire version because he made some sort of saving error and got corrupted =/

And well to stay on topic, theres little connection on capatability for getting the hoenn pokes into sinnoh/hg,ss. And besides hoenn has the best storyline. who wouldnt buy it? they baught a kanto and johto remake afterall.

Weavile05 August 6th, 2010 6:36 PM

I have a friend who says no, he didn't like RSE (yet his favorite poke is gardevoir, weird).
I, on the other hand, say H yes. It would make the Hoenn region tons more enjoyable.
On a slightly off topic note: when they get to DPP they will be so awesome thanks to the fact that they will probably be on the 3DS, which will hopefully revolutionize handheld gaming. Come to think of it by the time these Hoenn remakes come out, they will also probably be on the 3DS.
Also, I know they will make a remake, because thanks to HGSS, they've set a pattern. two gens, remake, two gens, remake. we are entering the first of the next two gens now, with BW.

thats creepy, But I would LOVE new games, everybody knows that I, Hoenn's KING would buy them

Sneasel3 August 7th, 2010 8:36 AM

I'd buy it! I have Pokemon Ruby on GBA

miccy August 7th, 2010 9:13 AM

An improvement in graphic and gameplay is welcomed!

vinylscratchp0n3 August 7th, 2010 7:35 PM

Hoenn doesn't just deserve a DS remake, it needs a 3DS remake, and by the time BW has come out, the 3DS will have been out too,(w/o a gba slot!) so why not 3DS Hoenn?

SgtPatches August 9th, 2010 2:01 PM

I think the R/S/E remakes are doubtful. R/B/G and G/S/C were remade because the Game Boy versions had no compatibility whatsoever with the GBA games. However, the GBA games ARE compatible with the DS games (hell, HG/SS still have a Pal Park), and it's already been announced that B/W and D/P/Pt/HG/SS will be compatible, there is still no legitimate reason for R/S/E remakes until there is no compatibility whatsoever, whether directly or transitively, between the advance gen games and whatever future generation is coming up.

Meadow August 9th, 2010 6:01 PM

I bet only Ruby and Sapphire would be remade, but not Emerald.

Anyways, just wait for the 3DS and they'll surely come.

Planetes. August 9th, 2010 6:23 PM

It would have to be in 3d, the original Rs games were in graphics that are now considered "old" but not "horrible" so it would have to have a huge improvement from the graphics of Gen 3

Surmonter August 10th, 2010 10:20 AM

People think Emerald will be remade because there are green rocks in Cerulean Cave in HG/SS. That's probably the stupidest of all the stupid reasons.

If they do make remakes (and I am 99% certain they will) it will be of Ruby and Sapphire.

I don't like Hoenn that much. But with 5 generations of Pokémon in them, and with the enhanced graphics..(and maybe even seasons now) I will love it for sure!
