Read the advanced trainer's guide first for starter... refer to the battledex for Blastoise as well. After you're done reading, revise over your own team once more first, then let's see where we get from there.
|
Your team ain't balanced! First, you've got 2 water pokemon in ur team! No grass, fighting, fire or psychic! If you have g/s/c, refer to Ash, I mean the Red guy in Silver cave. He has the ultimate team, 1 electric, 1 fire/flying, grass, water, normal, psychic. That's like one of the most competent teams. Also try to teach your psychic pokemon some ghost moves, it will be helpful. Make them learn as many moves of different types as possible. Then u r on ur way to winning, no matter which game u r playing. That's my strategy.:)
|
Type doesn't matter at all... I usually make a competitive team that doesn't even use fire attacks at all >>; Basically, as long as you got
-a hazer/pseudohazer -special sponge -physical tank -physical sweeper -special sweeper -quick attacker/sandstorm/hail Then type doesn't really matter... Plus you can make an all water team in competitive battling, and you can still get one attack for all elements for example. |
-a hazer/pseudohazer
-special sponge -physical tank -physical sweeper -special sweeper -quick attacker/sandstorm/hail What's that? Never heard of it! I think type does matter in a pokemon game to an extent. An all water type wouldn't stand a chance against, electric, grass gyms or the elite four. No matter how many moves of different types you teach them, in the end they are water types and that makes them weak against grass and electricity. Eve in the games you must have noticed people telling you when u start out : Train with different types of pokemon so that you can take on gymleaders of different types. Besides, water pokemon only cannot learn moves of all types. Which water pokemon knows Fire Blast? LOL! So I think type does matter. In the end though, it is not pokemon type or move type that matters, all that matters is victory. :) |

Flamethrower/Fire Blast and Surf/Hydro Pump? :) (for red falcon only) |
Octillery also gets Flamethrower, along with a slew of special attacks that is somewhat supported by a 309 special attack.
too bad it sucks =x |

Btw: which move is better? Flamethrower/Fire Blast and Surf/Hydro Pump? :) (for red falcon only)[/QUOTE] OK dominion, I think both are good. Depends on which pokemon they are used against! BTW, if u think this is like some sort of competition about which type is good, then I ain't playing. I have no grudges against water types, I was just trying to help that person out. No competition, please!:) Flamethrower has 95 power like Surf I think, and FireBlast and HydroPump both have 120 power, so both are equal. Of course if the competition was between Fire and water, water would win hands down!:) |
let me reform the question: if you would give charizard one fire attack would it be flamethrower or fireblast and if you would give blastoise one water attack would it be surf or hydropump?
|
If you don't know what's a hazer and stuff, go read the advanced trainer's guide as well. Most likely, we're still at the stage where we have both razor leaf and frenzy plant on your Venusaur, Red Falcon... >>;
|
i only use frenzy plant b/c it does 90 more damage than solar beam (with stab added), and the gap evens widens more when overgrow kicks it. usually use it as a back up, after i use sleep powder, leech seed. then i could use sludge bomb or any other good attack possibly the hp psycals. neways frenzy plant can be used, but mostly for a last resort like over heat. plus sumtimes power does matter like if u know it will 1hko a pokemon u r fighting rrather than taking 2-3 turns trying to razor leaf or solarbeam, hoping for critical hits.
|
Hey, why r all of u turning up against me? I was just trying to help that person!:) Are you all part of a 'Hate Red Falcon' Club or something?:rambo: If u have any suggestions better than mine, you have to give it to that person not me. I finished the games with a good set of pokemon with good movesets as well, and I wasn't the one who asked for any help here.

Quote:
As for Frenzy Plant, it's not usable unlike overheat, because overheat you can do something after using it, such as other attacks especially physical ones. Frenzy plant forces you to stay and do nothing. Even if you score a KO, you're making yourself at a huge disadvantage by giving them time to dance up to sweep you. Overheat can be healed with white herb, or simply using other attacks which is usually the chase. |
I never said I had only Frenzy Plant anywhere!! Let's just leave this topic out and start out by helping imsooonewb. Anyway, frostweaver, nov4 was ur b'day right? Happy Birthday! Mine was on nov2! I'm 2 days older than u! I'm 16 too!
|
actually those movesets use my greatest strategy - BRUTE FORCE! meh, not great but hey let's all take advantage of moves like Growl when the foe uses them!
Frosty - ;) last time I checked you were a booooooooyyy... "mother" of all hatred... XD Red Falcon - this isn't about you. Besides, I want to be the only member all un-self-confident! At least it's something to be on my own! ;) My sn is taken EVERYWHERE... |
my team is brute force i have now dropped electabuzz added skarmory and em gonna drop rhdyon and add TYRANITAR
|
Mine is brute force too... Am I newbie thus? I just like tanks... works for me.
-_- see " ~" (stuffed the title accidentally) for full explanation. |
