When you got GB Sounds...
what was the first place you heard it?
I went straight to Goldenrod, turned it on, Nostalgia'd and cried a little |
When i first got it, i turned it on and ran around in the grass until i got into a battle and i squeed... [I've you've ever squeed you'll know what i mean... If not... Well...]
I hate the new battle music... Love the old stuff. ^^ |
I went to the Game Corner to admire its music without having to wait for the tune to kick in like the remastered version. Then I went to ecruteak dance hall, then to Route 47/48, to see what happened to their music, and its quite good.
|
I probably tried it straight away in Celadon City's location, but it wasn't until I went to Goldenrod City and the Routes set before there to test it out properly and part of my eight/nine/ten year old self came crawling back. :D

Cerulean, then Viridian Forest, then Goldenrod XD
Who doesn't love G/S/C Goldenrod? |
I went into a Kanto battle. It's officially the greatest battle music in any game that ever existed or ever will exist ever. No exceptions.
|
I walked around Celadon City for a while and then I was just flying around to random locations that weren't in GSC to see what their music sounded like dumbed down. XD
The Pokethlon dome's music sounds surprisingly good in 8-bit. :P |
Curtis and Cecil went straight to route 2 as for me.. ruins of alph.
|
When i got it i went Went straight to route 2
|
Just to Goldenrod .
Epic 8bit. And the Pokeathlon Dome. I never played GSC (only on a ROM) so I didn't cry or anything ... |
Goldenrod sounds awesome and so does the pokethlon dome.
|
I'm pretty sure it was Goldenrod. lol
|
I went to the game corner first and used it there, because it has pwnsome music. :D

I wouldn't say I cried.....being manly and all that ;D but yeah nostalgia hit me. It was nice to hear the old sounds again.
|
I went to all of the places that werent in the original games, and was surprised that they actually made 8-bit music for them :D I was disapointed that the battle frontier didn't have 8-bit versions though.
|
How do you get this 8-bit symphony?

Celadon City. I just wanted to test it out.
There are a few places where I always turn it on though. Goldenrod, (I REALLY don't like the HG/SS version..) and Route 1. (because the GB Player version sounds just... amazing. ohmygod.) If I visit the place more, I think i'm mainly going to use the GB Player in Ecruteak too. |
When I got GB sounds, I raised it in my right hand, threw it on the ground, stamped it with my foot repeatedly, than used Typhlosion to burn it with a Flamethrower. Than I had my Munchlax eat the burned scraps. That's what I did.
|
New Bark Town... probably my favorite music from Gold and Silver just because it was the first in-game tune I heard upon starting the game, and it's always stuck with me.
|
I turn it on as soon as I got it and then walked around and freaked out :P

First, I put my nostalgia goggles on. Then I went everywhere I could and battled everyone I could. I loved it. Some of the themes sound different, like where there is bass (ie dark cave/ice path). Unfortunately, thats due to the DS's different sound hardware. But it was awesome nonetheless.
|
I went to goldenrod city
accidently walked into the GTS Thought nie music turns out they made new music old :) |
When I got GB Sounds, I think the first place I turned it on was in Saffron City. As a casual chiptune musician, shivers ran all throughout my nervous system when I heard the 8-bit remix of Saffron City, and I haven't felt that good about listening to Game Boy-type music in years. It sounds even better when you use a very good set of headphones.
|
Immediately for sure :D. I started listening to it everywhere :D
|
I believe the first time I used it on my imported SS (There it is called GB Player) Was the second I walked out the door.... and got on my bike. I sat there, dancing with the music while squeeing a lot to myself.
Heartgold, I went to goldenrod.... got slightly music ADD.... and got on my bike again. More dancing and squeeing with the nostalgia! |
Well I haven't gotten it yet, but once I go, I doubt I will use it too often. It's too much hassle for little gain. I do fancy myself some remixes anyway.
|
dragons den! the music used to scare me when i was 7, but now its epic!!!
|
Received this about a week or so ago. I don't see any reason to turn back, the GBC original music is just..beautiful. *cries with nostalgia*
|
I did an Elite 4 run. The remixed Lance battle theme can't even compare to the original.
|
I seriously don't understand how some of you guys are actually crying when using the GB Sounds. Sure, I've played the original, in fact, the most hours I've ever crammed on a Pokemon game is my Gold version, in fact, even after the 3rd Gen games came out, I still enjoyed Gold far more than my Ruby, LeafGreen, and Emerald versions.
But still, when using the GB Sounds, I don't feel like crying or anything. It's a neat feature, but you guys are seriously crying over it!?!?!? Sure it's nostalgic, in fact, I prefer some of the original music over the crappy HG/SS remixes (such as Goldenrod), but I don't feel the need to cry just because of hearing 8-bit music. I don't have anything against the GB Sounds, in fact, I think it's pretty cool. They're definitely not lazy, considering how they actually bothered remixing new music that wasn't present in the originals, such as Cerulean City and Route 48. |
I think I first went to Lavender Town.
|
Goldenrods <3
So.Many.Memories :D |
I went straight to the patch of grass next to Celadon and turned it on, then ran around to start battles for no apparant reason.
I luv G/S/C. |
Believe me when I said Pokemon center got the most nostalgia feel out of me.
I normally switch off the sounds, but turned it on when I plug my iPhone's earpiece in for the first time. It just remind me of Pokemon Yellow's song now. |
When I first obtained GB Sounds, I immediately switched it on and headed straight for the Burned Tower.
That tune is my favorite GSC theme of all time. =w= I could listen to the 8-bit version all day. |
Definitely Goldenrod City. I didn't mind much of the remixes, but guh. I still haven't been able to get use to the new one, so now whenever I got there for the lottery or something the first thing I do it turn on GB music.
|
Goldenrod city.
Then Ruins of Alph. On the way I got in to a random battle with Entei. I Nostalgia'd pretty hard. |
The first thing I'll do when I've obtained this feature, is going back to the road just outside New Bark Town (I never learn the route numbers), and then go wiping out some weak Pidgeys, Rattatas and Sentrets. The soundtrack played in that road in the old Gold and Silver games is probably my favourite Pokémon soundtrack ever. Childhood music in a nutshell. <3

@[email protected] I got it and immediately flew off to Goldenrod City to hear that music the way it was meant to be heard. (I hate the new version of it.) And then I sat there for a good 15 minutes just listening while I teared up from nostalgia. *lame* |
When I got GB sounds, I went straight to Goldenrod. So many memories =D
|
i went straight to new bark and cried, damn those where the days
|
Lavender Town, Goldenrod city, New Bark, Pallet town, Route 1, Route 2, Both battle musics, Ruins of Alph, Viridian Forest, & Indigo Plateau!
|
I went to New Bark.
And then to Pallet. |
I'm pretty sure the first place that hit me as nostalgic was Violet City. I could really here the old music mixed in with the new which brought about a bunch of old memories. The other place that really hit me was Dark Cave. I love the Cave music in general, but Dark Cave was amazing. I think Ice Cave also has the same tune as Dark Cave.
The only place that hurt was Lavender town. Lavender's original music and even all the way to FireRed/LeafGreen was my all time favorite track. When I went there on SoulSilver it was unrecognizable. I was thoroughly disappointed. |
I went right to Goldenrod! :D (I hate the remixed version) And later when I rematched the E4 I turned on GB sounds, mostly for the champion music than the rest of the E4. Then later I went to Lavender Town...those were the days.
|
Definitely Saffron City, it has that nice pleasing sound, and it has super nostalgia powers! XD
|
I personally haven't gotten it yet, but I would always use them I loved that old 16-bit music.... or was it 8-bit.......
|
Violet City.
You know it's awesome. |
Bike...Nothing like it ;D
|
After initially trying it out, I went straight to the new route just below the Safari Zone to see what it would do to the music (since I couldn't remember hearing it in the old games, I assume it didn't exist).
|
Turned it on immediately... i got teary eyed...
|
I saved it for Red. I haven't turned it off since.
|
1. To the Pokemon League, didnt turn it on until I walked into Lance's room.
2. Refused to battle Lance just so I could listen to the music endlessly into my earphones, crying a little bit whilst my friends stared at me. 3. Finished Lance battle an hour later. 4. Walked to the route beside New Bark Town, cried a little more. 5. Repeat steps 1, 2, 3, 4. |
I would run into Raikou or Entei just to hear their old GSC theme, but then again I already caught them both so I don't know if it would actually play or not. :x
|
I got my music changer and flew straight to Lavender town....gotta love that creepy music
|
When I first got mine I headed straight to the sea.
I always loved the G/S/C surfing theme, it was the best in my opinion. |
Turned it on in Kanto Cities, make me remember my childhood when i'm played pokemon Red version for first time.
|
Went to a Kanto Battle... It was ok, I'm not a major fan of 8-bit music, but it was really good non the less...
WHY DONT I LOVE IT, WHY DIDN'T I PLAY THE ORIGINALS WAH WAAH (Crys in a corner.) ... It was fun. The music , not the crying (PS. Its a joke :P ) |
I got it last night and it brought back memories of playing the original games.
|
Greatest...Song....Ever..... The Lake of rage theme. First hearing it in Fire Red on 6 island was good. Putting on the GB sounds I neary cried. That was the place where I would always see Entei. That and I love Goldenrod's theme. I really like the Bike song too.
|
I rushed over to the Indigo Plateau immediately after I got GB Sounds... A masterpiece of a song :D
