Well, if they aren't, I've gotta whole list of backups. Put the Nidos in and I'll be a-ok. If they are, better sprites, please.

Ah! Post 300. Kinda ironic when I barely say a word anywhere else on the site, but why post lectures when no one reads them? ò_ŏ

Bakura-kun April 23rd, 2005 12:26 AM

Daijoubu, Kine-sama. I read them. ^_^ I'm sure a lot of others do to. :)
Also, on the topic of post XXX, I got post 396! ^^ Doesn't seem that important, but I really like that number for some strange, odd reason that I don't even know myself o.o

Pikabloo April 23rd, 2005 12:34 AM

Can I join the club? Gardevoir is awesome!

Stacee April 23rd, 2005 1:28 AM

Can i join? Gardy is my fave!

kohei April 23rd, 2005 3:24 AM

Yay, 2 new potential members on the same day :D

Stacee April 23rd, 2005 4:00 AM

Oh thanks :)

Ohh... pretty :)

PS: I've added some redesigned Gardevoir design oekakis. It's not Garde-like though, so be warned...

Oh, and please tell me which design you like :). Either the red thing to be on the head like in the first pic, or like a belt in the second.

I usually don't mess with watercolor... too much effort and not enough payoff. Though whether or not I'm good at it I've never looked into. Others may be better than me using it, but I love doing things the simplified way.

As Housyasei-san said, I'm already aware of the Garde diet. But I didn't get a cool picture with my version of the story. =\

I also bought a laptop yesterday, which essentially means I could come here more often, but it's not like I ever really miss anything, honestly. Plus, I'm always working on/for something/someone, so that plan doesn't pan out anyway. But at least I can upload things quicker!

Hm...water is indeed a bit difficult to control.

Try using solid 1 line to do shadings like this: http://pig.oekakist.com/rs282/?fc=page&sort=0&page=4

Might be easier if you click + to enlarge the pic.

...what?
My knowledge of Japanese is so limited it technically shouldn't count. I'm pretty sure I said that somewhere in the club, but it was probably in the first few pages.

Better restate it now for future reference now that we've got reoccuring members. For simplicity's sake, let's all assume I don't know Japanese.

Stacee, you considered yourself a member before anyone ever initiated you. I don't know how other clubs would take that, but here that's just the kind of enthusiasm we need. Welcome to the club (If that didn't make sense, don't worry, it probably doesn't)!

And that's a nice banner too. I like how it's sparkly-like.

Pikabloo, you're also a member of the club now. Could you link the club in your sig, please? We need more members yet.

However, two at once is pretty impressive as we barely get a new one a month. Appears I'm still the oldest, though. U_U

Jynx, I see how that method could work. It actually looks a bit nicer that way. I think I'll give it a shot! ^o^

kohei, version two with the belt seems a bit more natural, although the first design seems reminiscent to someone else's style (don't have the time to search for it, but you probably know what I'm talking about). So... I guess I'd go with number two.

Keywords update: I snuck in "kucheat", but with good reason. Apparently on one of my rabid searches for the yellow tinted cute one, Kucheat pulls up the GFC. Once again, it's due to my "location" (oh, I'm never changing that now XD...but maybe I should change it to plug my website instead...hmmm, interesting), but whatever works, right? Granted, most "normal" people (who don't live in France/Japan/etc) will call her (it, whatever) Mawile, but I guess that's a slight oversight. Also, seeing how I alone influence some search engines with my location, I should probably do the keywords thing with every post.

Welcome stacy, your enthusiasm is what we need and i rarly do this but Hyusan (not good with names) sorry :( will be the prime minister. if kine is away, you will be in charge. And stacy will be secertary
I am happy to see that enthusiasm for a new member without asking!
Sorry to disapoint all who was not mention but the word "members" will not be used. a new word for this "clan" is needed please give ideas and i will check
something along the lines of
Gardemasters...
Gard-clan
or anything else, we would be the first club (i think) that would have a different word instead of member
i am not that good with words
Have a good time

PS, I finished the picture of Tomo you wanted :)

Kine April 26th, 2005 5:54 AM

Well, that's one more Japanese word I know now. I've heard it before, but could never put it in context...

kohei, you're welcome. By the way, this site pretty much shows the concept for number one I was talking about. I'm about 110% sure you've been here before. It's the pic on the side.

I'll check out the Tomo pic after I'm done here.

I shall rule with an iron fist of indifference, which is pretty much how I do everything. :P But seriously, I don't think people are going to go nuts over the next two weeks or party while you're away. *slyly pushes balloons aside*

For P.M, you must mean Housyasei-san (which I too have a hard time trying to get right). Well, she's busy as far as I know, but she'd probably be happy to know that. I wonder what the secretary does? kohei's been here longer, he should probably get something, but I just follow orders and slip in a rule or two.

Poliwhirl's mouth just sorta mysteriously disappeared. If it evovles into a Politoed, it grows back. That's the world of Pokemon for you.

I don't know what to call people outside of members, because I couldn't speak for everyone. Members is nice and neutral. If I called us all Gardemasters, that could be a lie because someone may not have a lot of knowledge of/experience with Gardevoir. If I called us Gardefreaks/cultists, that's sounds weird and scary and I myself would question the latter. Can't call us Gardelovers, cause people are prone to take that the wrong way (unless true <_<), and someone here may just be a fairweather fan of Garde (those who usually leave).

So with that, if anyone has any ideas for a more mutual sounding name that can describe everyone, then let's hear it.

Yamichi, no one has provided that link yet, but a good deal of us have probably already been there. Although the picture of Kirlia with the top hat near the bottom is new to me, so thanks for the "update", as it were.

I suppose I'm done for the day. Continue to do whatever it is you do while I'm gone.

*comes in*

Oy, Prime Minister? Hehehe, I do my best for that position. But as Kine said, I am a bit busy with a paper and this book I need to read for school. I have much less HW because of upcoming final exams. Also, no oekaki pictures from me for a while. My laptop suddenly started to turn off on random moments if I even have 2 or 3 programs running, so hand-drawn is the way to go.

I also broke my promise of that diet....oh dang. It's probably because I got discouraged drawing somthing else. Ah well.

jynx April 28th, 2005 4:39 AM

Kine April 28th, 2005 6:10 AM

Midterms, this week. But it's not nearly as bad as the single programming midterm of last quarter. School just gets in my way, but I guess I'll enjoy while I still can. Better than working 9 to 5 everyday, at least.

Bakura-kun April 28th, 2005 6:31 AM

Is about the same time as my AS Exams. (First half of A-Levels)
Also, is it just me or is this getting a little off-topic? :P

Kine April 29th, 2005 5:20 PM

No one will get hurt if we go off topic. I don't think Poliwhirl really made a big deal of it. (and even so, he's not here now, is he?) Must've been thinking out loud... '3'

Well, I'm done for now with midterms, but I've still gotta organize for a group project come Tuesday. I hate presentations...

As for the rest of you, study hard and don't slack off.

Scary... if you live in America, can't you get a gun for self-defence? (I just read a USA imported gun magazine in a book shop ^^; )

Quote:

kohei, which country do you study in?

International school in HK :D You know WIS?

Kine May 3rd, 2005 6:21 AM

Yeah, I could, but I don't have it in me to ever kill someone else. Of course, it still would be a matter of self defense... ugh. But does it have to be so messy?

Well, we've installed a reinforced door, so hopefully that thought won't come up again.

It's also sorta lucky my sister was home to phone for help, but something bad could've happened to her if the dude ever got in. I don't live in the best of neighborhoods, so it seems like it was only a matter of time. Either way, we've got to move, soon.

Housyasei-san May 3rd, 2005 1:38 PM

Oh my, that's terrible Kine. I'm always paranoid when I leave my house because of robbers or the house catching on fire, everyday too. We have the back door as 85% glass where someone could get in the back yard and break the door-glass. They would have a party in my room since I have a few electronics (TV, Printer/scanner/copier, laptop, CD burner, stero system and the like).

Anyway, on a more positive subject: What if Garde was one of your parents? Sounds weird, but oh well. Well, what if the senario was that your dad/mom dies/divorces (each other) and one of the parents later falls in love with his/her Garde? Nutty question I know, but I've been thinking about it.

My mother Gardevoir: A bit different from a normal mom, she would have some awsome psychic powers, still raise kids with disalpine, but only she and dad can't show affection in public (Unless they can handle stares ect....). She would probably be the most unique den mother of my kindergarden class XD. (As in, she could predict when someone could scrape a knee or somthing)

Daddy Gardevoir: 100x time weirder then the above statement but still in the same league. No need to explain what mom and Garde would look from far away if they show effection, ect. (more harder stares here), as you can figure that out. He'll be like any other father. If we ever went on a father/daughter camping trip...more stares XP. But they are staring at the knot tying champs in the troop. Mwaha, haha.

...I thought about this too much...oy.

kohei May 4th, 2005 3:44 AM

I think you think too much... in the wrong direction ^^;
So would dad Garde have a moustache? lol

Kine May 4th, 2005 5:20 AM

Actually, it didn't have much of an effect on me, possibly because I wasn't there, as it did my mom and sis. I believe they thought I was quite callus about the whole situation and that I didn't care, but I had to go to work so I couldn't show too much concern. Still, I would not want anything to happen to my family, though. We get along so well, it'd be like losing friends (I think everyone should have a family like that).

The only thing that worries me is stupidity with space heaters, but my view on everything is usually optimistic, if not realistic.

As for your topic, I answer it in a cheesy gif format by the end of the week (oh, how the quality will suck, I can see it now... XD).

Nice Gardevoir :D Nice shoes!

Kine May 5th, 2005 10:36 AM

Ooh, that picture's nice. I don't know what's so appealing about it, but I like it.

So back on to the above topic, here's my response.
As if having a Garde mom isn't enough, being represented as a fish completely voids any sense of reality.

The only good that could come out of it is psychic protection/prediction to keep the family safe. That's pretty much it. And can you believe even this gif took forever?

Other news, I got my copy of Emerald from PokemonCenter.com... did I ever mention I went to PC New York at one point? Well, I did... and I'm glad to be back in my favorite territory (sorry, but I lack the same rose tinted glasses everyone else has for FR/LG). Started off with Mudkip again, too. I immediately traded over my preset baby Raltses and Mawile, though I had to hatch 'em first on the other game. Well, "Emerald Patrick" won't be the original trainer, but I spent forever setting those eggs up, and darn it I'm gonna use them. And me wait 'till Victory Road to get Mawile? Please.

Another advantage of trading is no long training sessions with Gardevoir due to boosted experience (though she'll probably end up left behind for Kirlia. Strength doesn't matter, just favorites), and I had Pokerus on Sapphire, so I just immediately infected the Emerald Pokemon to save the trouble.

I'm only at the second route. I never even stepped into Petalburg yet, but I started playing this morning, so that's how it goes I guess.

Bakura-kun May 5th, 2005 11:43 AM

I should be going to bed soon.

Bakura-kun May 7th, 2005 12:50 AM

Why am I asking? Just trying to see when we're all not so busy with schoolwork (though I usually blow off everything...don't you go and do that).

June 30th ><;;And ill join

Bakura-kun May 9th, 2005 9:42 AM

May 20th I think, we start Study Leave. Then we're back in around June 21st, and leave school for summer holidays about July 15th. O.o I think.

I'm on study leave now, and I finish my last exam on June 24 XP
My summer holiday ends at the last day of August... I think (not sure)

[pic1] ...yesterday, I had some time.. so I did an oekaki drawing. O_O

Kine May 10th, 2005 5:45 AM

TheDevil21- Sure. Why not? U_U ~ You're a member
of the club.

Rageman, I've never seen you here before. And... I dunno what
else to say. =\

Kohei, it's honestly hard to imagine that picture came
from you. I've gotten so used to the way you usually
draw, then out of no where this picture comes about.
Maybe it's the angle... but it's really good.

Anywho, it appears we all have different schedules,
which I came to expect considering not everyone lives
in the U.S of A.

I considered myself done with school after midterms.
After realizing that calculus is pointless, my art
history class is a waste of time, and the other two
are just schedule fillers, I frequently space out and
doodle. Anybody want some pictures of (almost) anything? I'm
not doing my work, might as well do something (I'm not
being a good role model... stay in school, children
:P ).

I was quite surprized when I drew that too... I was inspired by a certain artist on a certain oekaki board :P BTW, whats "art history"? We don't have that subject in school...

Pretty much exactly what it sounds like. To be specific, though, you study artworks such as paintings or sculptures or masks, etc., and find out who made them and how long ago, where and the significance of it.

One usually has a choice to study art history in various regions and countries, not just where this person lives. At least that's how I think it works. Well, it works for me.

It's really busy work. How this is necessary for school credit I'll never understand.

In the meantime, have fun with this picture. It's
based on a thought that occured to me... after playing
more Emerald yesterday, I found that Wally's Ralts
always seems to come out male. I even reset the game
several times to try to get it to be a girl, but no
avail. Anyway, in odd fan art, Wally's always paired
with Gardy, but then it's a girl?

So... yeah. I bet someone somewhere has done something
like this before. I can't be the only one to have made
this observation...

Blah... I found out Housyasei did the same. You stole my idea! Or maybe I stole yours, since it predates mine... why do these things happen? ;_;

kohei May 11th, 2005 5:44 PM

OMG, but thats so true :P (according to the Emerald guide book I got, it says Wallys Pokemon are always male, except Magneton :( ) I agree, it's quite wrong how Wally is paired with Garde all the time, but in the game, it's a male...

More drawings, cuz school's boring. Actually, I didn't draw them for here, but I thought they were interesting anyway.

Pic 1 (It's kinda big): This is what happens when I don't manage my time in class wisely. I just fill up a sheet of paper with doodles of all sorts. Here's one I did recently. Let's see if you can ID everyone in the picture.

By the way, everyone was drawn from memory. Goes to show I have much more potential than just drawing Ralts and Co.

Pic 2: Unrelated to the club, but I still thought it was a neat enough drawing.

I probably should have put these up in the art board, but then I'd have to color them. Forget that.

Heyhey, I'm just stopping by.(Welcome back Poliwhirl!)

Nothing from me at at least, since I'm on my sisters computer. Right now it's exam week for me, this whoooole week. Ugh. I have some new pictures to scan. I wouldn't post them on DA/make a art thread until later.

Bakura-kun May 16th, 2005 10:48 AM

Hihi! My exams are coming up soon also. Can't wait to see those pics! ^_^

Kine May 16th, 2005 3:08 PM

Der... well, nothing exciting happened while you were gone, Poliwhirl, aside from an interesting topic from Housyasei, neat looking pictures from Jynx and Kohei, learning when people are on their breaks, and doodles from me that had little to do with the club.

That ought to cover the most of it.

Oh and I think Icthyology has something to do with fish.

Kine May 17th, 2005 12:58 PM

I've still got like 3 ten page papers or so to write for three different classes. Darn it to heck...

...if I wasn't the person I am, I would've most definately used other words for what I just said. Still, those teachers show no remorse. Oh well, I could be writing 100 page dissertations. Thank goodness I'm a compu-science major and not a law/doctorate major.

Squishy the Kirlia? *Thinks of a certain squid merged with Kirlia*... oy, the things I think about... And hey, I remember when I made that banner. I completely forgot about it.

OMG, I'm not dead :0

Nice Squishy ya got there PD. But it bugs me how radicily different in color between the tenticles and the other colors. That also gives me a "Squishy idea" too.

OMG, now it's pic time! I won't post some of these in the Art section/DA since everyone is probably sick of my Garde-palooza. :surprised:

#1- Bordom waiting in the school office resulted in this (plus a few other scribbles). It's a well-drawn Garde meeting a kindergardener's rendition of RKG. I even wrote it's speech with my left-hand to authenticate a child's handwriting. It wasn;t until after a while when Kindergarde started to look like one of Kine's oekaki pics. I saw you comic and was a bit shocked that someone borrowed an idea from me (or somthing), so we're even. ;)
#2- I was trying to break that record again. Soon, I will be drawing them on grains of rice XD
#3- My last Garde before the "Great Garde Diet". This is symbolized as being sidelined from the "action". Right now, Garde's going a bit stale on me anyway, so these might be the last big upload of my stuff I'm afraid.
#4- An updated version of Then and Now with a more recent pic and how well I shade.
#5- Part of a bigger pic, but she was cute so I zoomed in on her and added a (un)fancy border. Yey.

Post those pics on DA! At least I won't be sick of all your Garde art :P
Glad to see you are trying to break your own record too :)

PS: And horray for maid Garde! Are you going to post a full version somewhere? Like DA/here?

[edit1/pic1]: This is actually my first non-oekaki CG pic. I drew it 45mins ago (wasting some study time here :P ). Took 30mins to draw (with sketch on paper as reference material), since Ralts is so easy to draw!... but still, drawing with a mouse is hard.

Kine May 20th, 2005 2:46 AM

The oekaki pics I draw today are done with as little effort as possible. ^_^ Well, that's sorta the point for the oekaki I'm at, (and I've only got about 5 minutes tops to draw anyway)but I still need to find a new one, later. First, write those papers!

Regarding number 3, that's what happens when you go overboard. You start to burn yourself out.

Number 4, it's amazing how in 4 months she looks even better. I believe you probably have mastered Garde with an upgrade that quick.

#5, never even seen the first version.

Kohei- Whether or not it was intentional, I think it's neat how Ralts's eyes seem a bit colder than usual. They're obviously not the bright happy eyes I'm used to seeing (even in Sugimori's style).

Okay, here's a weird version of Squishy (though more what I was thinking, as the picture so obviously shows). Hooray for ZERO effort! It's not shiny, but this is all I had.

http://wwwkirby.homestead.com/files/Pokemon/What_have_they_done_to_you_Squishy.gif

I didn't even bother to recolor it (except in a few places). Who has the time for that, though?

I just found the Oekaki both you Housyasei and kohei drew at (H/M and k respectively, correct?). Well, I guess that answers my e-mail question for sure.

Why am I just now noticing it? To be honest, I haven't been to a Sirnight based oekaki in months. Needless to say, I've probably missed hundreds of pictures. I took a break from them, mainly because I didn't want to burn out, plus other things of interest me more (specifically, Touch! Kirby for DS and Kirby GCN). I can probably start up again once I'm out of school. It's been a while.

I'm guessing you've continued to go all this time, Housya? That's probably why you're wearing down. *shakes you* You gotta do things in moderation, man!

Onto a different subject, any of you familiar with Chiko's work? Looking for Chikorita stuff, I found a nice site that's the best of two worlds (Kirlia and Chikorita of course... 2 out of 4 on the same page is very good). It also has nice Absol art if you're an Absol fan. There's a bit of Sirnight art too, but Kirlia's the main focus (finally).

Here's some examples:
Please note that this person does not want their art work redistributed w/o permission. It upsets me to go against anyone's word, but I'm going to upload examples this one time. You'll have to find the rest on your own.

Cool. I've tried drawing a Yami Bakura in Paint. O.O It looks quite good, but it's not perfect. But meh, I know how hard it is to draw with mouse! XD

Ohh, never seen that persons art... can you tell me the address please? I'll love to see his/her art. Oh, and yes, "k" is me. I tend to use this alias on most 2ch based oekakis (and Albatross11) just for the sake of staying anonymous.

[img1]: My longest oekaki yet. 47mins o_o (26mins lineart, then 21mins colouring, in 2 separate sessions drawing). It's Sirnight doing Thunder Punch (or was it Lightning Punch? Not good with English attack names yet :( )

Bakura-kun May 24th, 2005 2:10 AM

Cool! I'm pretty sure it's thunder punch. I don't know that attack well myself. XD Anyway is cool pic Kohei. :)

Kine May 24th, 2005 5:28 AM

Yamichi- I believe it's Minun, in that it's her other alias (which doesn't say much, there's probably a million other people who call themselves Minun).

I used to draw things with a mouse, and was quite good at it. I probably still could if I felt like taking all day.

And where do you go to vote, anyway?

Kohei- I figured as much. That's why I said something like "Hey, it's you!" as opposed to "Hey, it's kohei!". I wouldn't really want to use a well known name either, unless I felt good about the place. Still, I'd've never figured it out if it wasn't for your website, which I still think I may draw something at least once there (if no one bites my head off).

I also would've thought you've seen Chiko's art before. Is it true that I have found something before anyone else? ^_^ Sure I'll send you the link in a PM later.

Anyway it's a good picture, and I would say something about lighting effects, but I don't know how to use them either, especially on an Oekakibbs style oekaki (I don't know which you drew this on, though).

And lastly, it's Thunder Punch, which literally does not make sense.

I assume no one else here knows of the site (at least in this thread), so yes, I think it's true! Thanks in advance for the url :)

Housyasei-san May 24th, 2005 7:59 PM

Kine> Yes, I'm H/M. It's a combination of my aliases but still staying anonymous (like kohei). As for the Gardeoekakis, I've been visiting then everyday, but I'm falling behind in saving pictures. So, maybe I'm on a break or somthing. XP

I seen Chiko's site a month ago. S/he has some pretty nice art stuff there as Kine showed. I know that there are 5 characters on the site:
Chiko the (what else) female Chikorita
Abu and Soru(?). Absol brothers (one is shiny)
Kiru and Ria- Older brother and younger sister Kirlias (the brother is shiny like Absol)
And they somhow have adventures and such.Heh.
I showed some of Chiko's art works when I was posting about male RKG.

From what I seen, I saw no one with the name of Minun. Just "Minun". Maybe there's only 2 or 3 out there, but whatever.

Jynx> Thanks for the lovely comment you made on my pics. :\

Kohei- Nice pictures. I would draw on your oekaki, but everyone would just know I'm an American and that they would treat me badly. This one oekaki, the only comment I got was on a Garde oekaki (in japanese)"The legs are supposed to be white" >.> and some other comment that I didn't understand. No even a nice comment yet, but on another oekaki (kohei goes to) what did they say about that one Kirlia picture? I was confused.

I'll stop blabbing now. *shutsup*

It's ok to draw in my oekaki, seeing only 3 people have drawn so far, and the person who draws the most there (guy called 190) is American. Oh, and the longer comment on your muscular Kirlia pic is a song which translates to: "I want to be, I want to be, a muscular dandy, I want to be~" lol

Kine May 25th, 2005 2:15 AM

HS- Hehe... I knew it. There's almost no other explaination for it. But the only oekaki that seems to have daily updates is the "...bbs/sirknight/oekakibbs..." one. At least for what I remember.

So I guess I'm not the first...again (you beat me to everything, you just won't let me win ;_;), which I figured cause I had a feeling I've seen that art before. Oh bloody heck. Still, it's a good find.

I don't know of any "Minun"s either, but I sorta meant in variation, like I bet people here are (something like MiNuN1902930etc).

I also knew that the only active person at kohei's oekaki was 190, but I didn't know about the American part. Then again, you don't need to have a lot of people to have fun anyway (anyone who says oekakis should have a billion members is lying). Still, I sorta decided against drawing at any Japanese boards because of the reasons you're pretty much stating (art shouldn't really be determined by what country you're from 9_9, but that's a subject for another time).

kohei-Then it's settled. I'll be there at some point in time (no more promises of when, I've learned that lesson).
