burning ps2 games?
uh... yeah. is there a way to do that WITHOUT buying a special burner and/or chipping my ps2?
|
Nup. Because an unchipped PS2 can't play burnt discs o_O
|
If you're interested in legitimently backing up your PS2 library, consider HDLoader.
It's legal intention is to allow you to copy your own original games to a standard 3.5" IDE HDD, and thus keep laser wear to a minimum. And to allow you to do so without after-market modification to your PS2, thus prserving your warrenty. Of course, with some PC intervention and some clever tools, it can be worked to allow you to play downloaded/burnt PS2 games as well. Due to legality though, I can provide no more information on this subject. |
it is being taken off the market because people have been taking rented/borrowed games and storing them so they dont have to buy it.
i know this guy who converted his PS2 into a computer.... |
You mean installed Linux Kit on it? That's..no great achievement. It's an official product, sold by Sony.
|
It's not that hard to chip a PS2. And it's not illegal, it's in the grey market. Just chip your PS2 and everything'll be easier
|
Actually, mod chips ARE illegal.
Not because they enhance functionality Not because they allow playing of pirates. Much simpler, they contain copyrighted Sony Code, for their BIOS. Which makes them illega. |
i'm pretty sure u buy a chip install it to ur computer and u should be able to burn ps2 , ps2 , gamecube etc. disks

Burning it isn't really the hard part. It's about playing it. And thats when you have to choose whether or not you want to chip your PS2 and lose it's warrenty(and probably kill it in the process) |
humm.. well buy another ps2 so u have 2 of them burn the ps2 game try it on one of them and if it doesn't work just buy a nother game of the same. y do u want 2 burn a ps2 game anyway?

The Xbox chips are in a legal loophole. They're shipped with no BIOS at all. In this state, they're legal. Then it's up to a person to break the law by flashing the chip with a hacked bios.
|
Because the only way to continue discussion about this would deal with illegal stuffs, I think this thread should be closed.
|
Brittany's right. o_o The question seems to have been answered and I don't want this to plunge into illegal discussion, so... *closes~*
