who else is like me

i have to have my pokemon in balls that match their color (parasect in fast ball, articuno in dive ball, etc.)

also i'm having trouble thinking what ball matches rhydons color the most. what do you think

Ninphelos May 30th, 2010 11:04 AM

I would say Heavy Ball. Or Timer Ball / Level Ball because they're partially gray.

ltsang May 30th, 2010 11:16 AM

hehe I just use random balls. lol

Merikayla May 30th, 2010 11:28 AM

I have a set of ditto with 31 IVs in various stats so I normally breed my pokemon for good stats... and when they hatch from an egg you don't get to choose which pokeball its always the default white/red one lol.

I think the heavy ball would work for Rhydon, it even has bumps on it like Rhydon has horns and spikes.

Chris337 May 30th, 2010 2:12 PM

LOL yes. Not for every pokemon but when I can, I definitely match them. It started back when I realized that Zapdos matches an ultra ball perfectly and thought it was cool. Now I do it all the time.

I used to do that, but meh, aslong as I catch the pokemon, I don't care what ball I use. XD;

Chris337 May 30th, 2010 2:25 PM

^ Linkin Park is awesome just for the record, they were the first band that I really liked.

Romantica May 30th, 2010 3:03 PM

^Haha same here. I was in love with them when I was 12.

And I actually do that too, or whenever I can. If all else fails, I'm in love with the pink pokeballs. Are they loveballs? I forgot the name.

beca May 30th, 2010 3:06 PM

That's something I've never actually thought about...time to turn in those apricorns I've been hoarding :P

MrsNorrington May 31st, 2010 12:59 AM

I'm not exactly like that, but sometimes if a Pokemon is in an odd pokeball, or one that doesn't match it, it'll irritate me after a while.

Socrotas May 31st, 2010 5:12 AM

My strategy is oldskool. Save, throw pokeball, either catch or fail, if fail, load, rinse and repeat.

shengar May 31st, 2010 5:16 AM

My rule is: always catch pokemon that going to be my main team with normal Pokeball

bobandbill May 31st, 2010 5:47 AM

Actually this doesn't necessarily apply to HGSS only... so I'm going to move this to General Pokemon Gaming.

mondays suck May 31st, 2010 8:13 AM

Never even thought about this. Instead, I always throw a ball that I believe to be efficient enough for success. That means, Pokeballs on derps, Great Balls on a bit better stuff, Ultra Balls when nothing else works. I rarely use these Special balls, because I mainly play gen 1+2.

NickofTime May 31st, 2010 9:19 AM

Balls are balls, as much as i enjoy pokemon colors, being all OCD and colorcoding my pokemon just isn't my thing.
Also its not important and I can't brag about it.
Here is the situation:
Me: HEY GUYS! check out the color of my balls!
Friends: What the F______ ( i'll let you fill in the blank)

just remember, public nudity is not okay

Kirbychu May 31st, 2010 12:48 PM

Haha, I do the same thing. I have my Houndoom named Rainbow in a Heal Ball.

Kip May 31st, 2010 1:18 PM

I remember in Generation II the Pokéballs regardless of type always changed to the Pokémon's colours briefly before it vanished. :)

In an ideal world I suppose I would like to catch each of my main party in a different ball, especially since the DS version where it makes pretty colours when you send them out. Gives me a sense of variety - in fact I was lucky to catch my Red Gyarados in a Dusk Ball, so it has that cool black hole-like animation when I send it out. :D But to be honest, it doesn't usually turn out the way I want it, because at the end of the day you need to catch the Pokémon regardless of what ball you want. With me, it usually ends up in an Ultra Ball. :/

I was thinking the same thing. Yikes... :P lol

dooxer May 31st, 2010 2:22 PM

i will only use pokeballs if i can help it. 3 pokeballs is the cost of one great ball, and i only use ultraballs for legendaries or ubers.

Kendall May 31st, 2010 8:23 PM

I'm picky about balls too (not a double entendre). I have to catch them in one that matches or looks good with the pokemon. Which is why I don't like it when I have to breed to get a move because bred pokemon only come in regular pokeballs. I suppose that is a good thing in some respects though because then you can tell when your opponent has egg moves.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ June 2nd, 2010 7:28 AM

I like catching my Pokemon in varied types of Pokeballs because it's more colorful. But I am usually OCD about catching Meowth in a Luxury Ball just because it seems to be a perfect match for Persian.

Sydian June 2nd, 2010 9:22 AM

I could never do that. I don't have the time and patience to bother checking every ball and making sure it matches the Pokemon. I used to match the Pokemon with seals, though. That's about as far as I'll go.

Also, does it count if on Colosseum and XD I like having all my Pokemon in a Pokeball? It looks weird on the healing machine when there's 5 Pokeballs and 1 Great ball.

Dubstep June 2nd, 2010 9:30 AM

I hack my bred Pokemon into nice Pokeballs, problem solved. I don't try to match colors, just put them in balls that compliment their color, type, or species. Golbat looks good with a dusk ball.

I second the heavy ball for Rhydon, though.

.

thats how i got legit-ly got my feraligatr in a great ball & exported all the way to 4th gen..haha

Pokémon Ranger ✩ Moriarty June 2nd, 2010 1:49 PM

I was really determined to catch Ho-Oh in a Fast Ball because of the colour, or a Premiere Ball because they just look so damn groovy. In the end I just got frustrated and used my Master Ball. :B I have Mean Look to tackle me some legendary dogs.

dr.feelgood11 June 3rd, 2010 2:05 AM

nah i usually just prefer using dusk and premier balls, those are my favorites so i try to use them whenever possible. the only reason i haven't caught entei or raikou in my HG yet is because i want to catch them both in premier balls lol

Dawn Rules June 3rd, 2010 3:06 AM

I have not tried that but it sounds interesting i might start to catch pokemon in balls the same color. I usually just use any random ball on any random Pokemon im catching.
