Be REALLY - Did u ever used cheats?

I created this thread 'cause i dont have nothing to do wanna know:

Have u ever cheated on pokemon FR, LF, ruby, emerald, etc?

Be REALLY :D

Teh Blazer June 5th, 2010 11:53 AM

Be really? Do you mean: "Be HONEST"?

I have never cheated, mainly because I can't cheat. I don't have a cheating device so... no cheats for me!

Shiny Shaymin June 5th, 2010 12:05 PM

Be REALLY? Haha… xD

Yes, I use cheats all the time. Gameshark, AR, you name it. I even pay other people to cheat fpr me. I’m so proud of myself.

Thorns June 5th, 2010 12:11 PM

Your title confuses me, Be really? It seems wrong grammer wise.

But no, I don't use cheats, than theres no point acutally playing if I don't play as it was intended.

mondays suck June 5th, 2010 12:13 PM

To BE REALLY, I have cheated in the past.
BUT, when excluding the good ol' Missingno in RB and some cloning by trading or that one box trick in GS, which all happened way back (and is not 3rd gen.), it's all only been cheats that I needed for some gimmick runs. Like, changing the starter or letting something spawn in the first route that shouldn't be there.
I really hate this kind of "do this to get a level 100 Arceus with Hyper Beam, et cetera, et cetera"-kind of cheats (or, to make this 3rd gen, let's say Rayquaza instead of Arceus), I always find tons of these before I find an actual Pokemon spawning modifier.
Seriously, cheating is only fun when it changes the gaming experience, evertything else is for people who can't complete the game without level 100 legendaries.

HugSomebody June 5th, 2010 12:20 PM

Being real with you, I've never hacked into a Pokemon game ever before. O= I used to like trying all the different glitches of RBY, but I consider those different hehe.

zNickhs June 5th, 2010 1:17 PM

MB guys T_T

My english is horrible ;/

Kirbychu June 5th, 2010 1:23 PM

*Becomes really*

No, I never cheated in Pokemon until 4th gen.

NebulaNinja June 5th, 2010 1:35 PM

I've never cheated, but my sister's boyfriend has with ActionReplay.
He gave me a Shiny Lv.100 Arceus with a Cherish Ball attached as an item!
I put the Cherish Ball in my Bag and traded it to my friend for a better EV'd Arceus.

Thorns June 5th, 2010 1:44 PM

To be really wouldn't mke sense either, I wish he chose a different one.

SparklingMistral June 5th, 2010 2:00 PM

I cheated up until 3rd gen. It was my cousin who had gotten me into it. Once 4th gen came around and common sense hit me, I stopped cheating. (My friend did borrow my game at one point though and got me some nice Pokemon, so yeah. But I didn't think she was gonna do all of that.)

Elise June 5th, 2010 2:04 PM

Hmm.. Does it count if you got your pokemon from people who cheated? If it is, then yes I have "cheated." I got a whole bunch of pokies for FR from my cousin you had an Action Replay. But I never tried it on my own game because I'm pretty sure it messed his all up. >:O

BHwolfgang June 5th, 2010 3:03 PM

When I first started playing Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, I once used a cheat to gain infinite Rare Candies. I can't think of any of other times when I cheated the game.

Well..... I still use the cheat to get reloadable Master Balls in Pokemon Colloseum. Ha ha.

Jack June 5th, 2010 3:30 PM

I have only cheated on Pokemon Pearl which i dont play anymore, other than that NEVER, i never cheated on emerald not even get hacked or really strong pokemon from people that cheated

zNickhs June 5th, 2010 4:50 PM

I cheated only in pokemon pear too, just 'cause i never found a gameshark for GBA ._.

Eurydice June 5th, 2010 6:58 PM

the only time i ever cheated was to get previous events for the fourth generation. i just really ♥ darkrai and i wanted one so i cheated for it. stupid event only legendaries :/

Åzurε June 5th, 2010 7:37 PM

I already was REALLY.

...Heh, I wonder if I could come up with an acronym for "really" that would be appropriate for this situation.

Anyhow, yes I have cheated. It started with a Gameshark for Sapphire, and I keep doing today. No, I'm not fighting anybody with hacked pokemon or anything like that. I just like to experiment with stuff. I also unlock events that have passed me by due to lack of Wi-Fi.

...And introducing Riolu as a starter is so much fun.

Frozzd June 5th, 2010 7:54 PM

My friends and I used them so much when we were kids we burned out (yes, BURNED OUT) 3 Action Replays in one night.

Timbjerr June 5th, 2010 9:00 PM

It's just too fun to play on an emulator and pull in any pokemon I want when playing RSE. I do have my honest playthroughs though. I just like having specific runs where the objective is to beat the game using whatever pokemon I manage to pull in. XD

Luck June 5th, 2010 9:08 PM

I glitched plenty of times on my first runthrough, and I traded hacked master balls from my brother( about 6), but I never directly cheated. So…does that count?

Ayselipera June 5th, 2010 9:11 PM

Be Really? Well that's a new one...

Anyways, no I haven't. I honestly don't know why I've never bothered cheating. I'm as lazy as they come. You'd think I'd be a master at cheating, but no.

Aggressor June 5th, 2010 9:24 PM

Never, I have never cheated in any 1st, 2nd, 3rd Gen game, I only ceated in 4th Gen after I finished em because I was bored.

In Pokemon Sapphire. I had 200/202 in my Pokedex, only Feebas and Milotic left. I've lost the game now, but yeah, not a single cheat used EVER in that.

colcolstyles June 5th, 2010 10:05 PM

<obligatory "Be REALLY" joke goes here>

I have never cheated beyond using in-game glitches like the cloning glitches in Gold & Silver and Emerald. I've never used (or owned, for that matter) a GameShark or Action Replay or any of those things. For one, it takes the fun out of the game if there's no challenge and two, I like that sense of accomplishment from working hard to raise my pokémon.

hack1 June 5th, 2010 10:06 PM

I do not own cheating devices, so... No?

.Kaiser June 6th, 2010 12:46 AM

I'll be really for you.

I used gamesharks on my emulators. That is all. Goodbye to you all.
xD
Sorry, I just had to.

dooxer June 6th, 2010 7:18 AM

first 3 playthroughs are cheat less. after that i get in on emulator and hack away ;D

by hacking i mean changing starter and moves in general. might make it so (say) poochena always holds ppmax or something... to be honest i made my battle frontier team suicune, gengar and tyranitar; all shiny, all with wonderguard, all ppmaxed out, all base stats 250... and gengar changed to ghost and dark lol.

but that was only my 7'th playthrough of emerald, mind you.

MagitekElite June 6th, 2010 9:17 AM

Only for house items in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Oh, and once to spawn a female Bulbasaur lol

The Doctor June 6th, 2010 9:33 AM

Be Really... What....?

Ok.

No On My Honest Games I Havent

I HAVE Cheated For Pokemon On My Challenges Like My Ultimate Solo - Blastoise.

Thunderhead June 7th, 2010 12:03 PM

Well, I have, and I still do.

Most of the time its just items and quicker day care.

However, I have(and still do) toy around with Pokemon Generators, and place them on there.

However, one cheat I hate is the all shiny cheat >=(

alisaie June 7th, 2010 12:45 PM

To get my Secret ID, I used the Action Replay. Other than that, unless you want to count RNGing as 'cheating', I haven't really cheated in any of my Pokemon Games. I don't think I ever will, either. :U

Sacr3d Fire June 7th, 2010 1:01 PM

To be honest i never found a way to hack in my emerald version on my Game Boy,except for the clone glitch at the Battle Tower that i nerver used and there no reason to cheat because its ruinning the goal of the game.(Except if your done everything.)

kaiser32 June 7th, 2010 9:17 PM

I've used GS to get a couple of pokemon and upload 'em for a project.

Cherrim June 8th, 2010 11:24 AM

Never once cheated in third gen. Partially because I didn't have the means to do it, but I'm also not really a fan of it. I cheated in first gen using the Missingno & Mew glitches but then didn't do it again until gen 4 when I downloaded event ROMs and used those to get event Pokémon--which isn't really cheating depending on your definition. @[email protected];

I'm gonna move this to General Gaming because while it could be an RSE/FRLG thread, I think it works better as a broad "Do you cheat in Pokemon games?" thread.

shookie June 8th, 2010 11:40 AM

My stepbrother had a Game Shark, which I took once without telling him. I had no idea how to use it, though, I just remember having it in my GBC during recess. Beyond that, I've never used anything else.

rndm. June 8th, 2010 11:44 AM

I have only cheated while playing ROMs, just to make the game glitch. =P
I keep regular cartridges clean of cheats, because I dislike cheating in general.

Kendall June 8th, 2010 10:37 PM

The only time I have cheated is when I was playing ROMs on the computer. But I never have cheated on my cartridge games. And I don't ever intend to.

Trainer Galza June 11th, 2010 2:05 AM

Pokemon Red and Blue (the old school) was full of tricks you could pull off like the safari zone/cinnibar island trick (also the masterball duplications) so you really didn't even need to use a gameshark to do some of that stuff... and yeah, back in the day I did.

I don't have things that I can totally hack out my guys with like Pokesav. I do have an AR, but I haven't even used it. My only intention with that really is to catch guys I couldn't normally get .. or lack the effort to be made. Tangela in DP for example. I have fire red, but it's incomplete.. I'm not gonna go through the effort for little Mr Fryguy when I can haxxor him. As far as legendaries go, I plan on hacking the events, not the pokemon themselves. Speical pokemon like the Battle Revolution Volt Tackle/Surf Pikachu I would hack the ID for so I could at least rename it. *hate friggin caps PIKACHU .. just looks so blah.

I'd also cheat on the coin case BS.. and getting TMs.. well, the ones associated with Coin Case. I always ALWAYS hated that stupid ass casino.

Sobriquet June 11th, 2010 2:29 AM

I used to cheat all the time.... even in 4th gen. Then, after awhile, I developed some kind of OCD that if I even SUSPECT that my poke is illegitimate, I get filled with this weird guilt. I can't even bring myself to cheat anymore. So now, all I ever do with my AR is get back the events I lost when starting a new game. (Which I obviously don't use)

Trainer Galza June 11th, 2010 2:34 AM

I kind of cheat, but I have a respect for it.. ya know? like.. I want to PLAY the game and feel challenged. Thats why I bought it. Its just so boring when you can do whatever you want. But thats just the way I look at it.

Blackhebrew2 June 11th, 2010 11:08 AM

I have a "clean" Pearl version which has no known cheats used or anything of that sort. I have a "dirty" Pearl ROM that I only use the run through wall hack. Here is an example:
Dawn: You must get permission from your parents before we let you pass
Me:Am like "Ill show you permission" *runs straight through a tree and out the other side"

Run through walls is very fun and its to skip pointless parts of the story that add nothing to the experiance, just annoy you.

Pokémon Ranger ✩ Moriarty June 11th, 2010 11:29 AM

The only cheat I ever used was Missingno. in RB. :]

Slowkingz 4 Lyfe June 11th, 2010 3:39 PM

Well I'll be REALLY and say that I've never cheated in Pokemon. Ever. How could I look into the mirror everyday and call myself a Pokemon master knowing that I'm a cheater, a fraud! Sure, I could take advantage of glitches/hacks *cough cough PokeSteroids* like everyone else but what about dignity!? What about honor!? <insert motivational speech here>.

Niprop June 11th, 2010 9:15 PM

"be REALLY"

New phrase added to the Engrish Dictionary!

Well, to tell ya the truth, I considered using a gameshark on Yellow all those years ago, but the darn thing broke before I even got to use it. Ever since then, I have lost the interest in cheating, and have grown weary of it's effects on the GTS.

Glitching is another story, you can ruin your game and permenantly damage the data for all I care, so long as it doesn't effect other players.

The cloest thing to cheating I have probably ever done is glitching in R/B/Y.

XxRogueTrainerxX June 12th, 2010 3:08 PM

I've used a Gameshark once or twice just for laughs.
