Need advice please

Ok so I bought Diamond version today from EB games as a pre owned (just wanted something to do as i was bored with HG) anyway when I load up the game I see there is already a saved profile so I thought I would go check it out.

The time on the saved game was 258 hours! I had a look through the owned pokemon and there is a ton of rare shiny pokemon, including almost all legendary's in shiny form.

Now I am confused because I don't own another DS nor do I know anybody who does so I can't trade all these awesome Pokemon over to my HG :(

I want to start playing Diamond but with all these cool pokemon deleting them just feels wrong, how common are rare shiny pokemon should I even care? and is there anyway to transfer them without trading via 2 DS consoles?

There is the gts. You'll have to do the trade quick though, before someone else gets it.

Well rare shiny pokemon are not common at all hence the word rare :) The only way I can think of trading them so you can have them on a new file is via the GTS. Do you know anyone who would be willing to help you obtain all these pokemon through the GTS? For example you could trade the pokemon to their game then you create a new file and they trade them back over. You'd have to know or trust the person alot though  Hope I helped..

So if I put up the level 100 shiny legendary in Exchange for some common low level pokemon then quickly switch games?

How risky really is that?

Risky, 'cos whilst your loading up your other game someone could be searching for that pokemon on the GTS happen to have the common your looking for and easily snap it up :pink_disbelief:

If you can find someone trustworthy, you can do multiple trade via wifi. I helped another member with this and the downside is that it takes hours to complete, a lot of filler pokemon and money is needed to complete as well. Good luck with this :)

I'd erase it and restart to be honest.
Not trying to sound harsh but, they're not your Pokemon, you didn't do anything to get them. But it's up to you I guess (:

When I bought Pearl used from my local Gamestop, it also had a lot of rare and shiny pokémon on it, including some of the legendaries. But, since they weren't my pokémon, and I hadn't even played any of the newer games to know all the pokémon, I just simply started a new file. While it would be nice to keep pokemon from that saved file for yourself, to me it's just not as fun as catching/obtaining them myself. :)

If you still want to keep them, you should find someone else to trade with in the wifi room instead of using the GTS. No matter what pokemon you put up in the GTS, even if it's just to trade to yourself there's always a chance someone else will get it. Even if you put something off like a mewtwo level 9 and under for what you're expecting to get in the trade, some hackers might be able to snag your pokemon. Also, in the GTS, you cannot trade for pokemon you haven't seen yet in your own dex. Meaning, if you have those rare pokemon on the new game but you haven't even seen them in your dex on HG, then you can't search for them in the GTS. At least, with both my games, all I can ever search for is pokemon I've already seen or caught.

So, like people are suggesting, trading with one person over wifi would be the best bet. But, it would take some time to do so. Both of you would need some pokemon to trade back and forth that you wouldn't care about having back. And you might want to look for someone who has already done this sort of thing before, to know they wouldn't personally keep the pokemon for themselves. Also, if someone were to do that for you, you should think of giving them something back in return for helping.

Hope this post helped a bit. :)

in all honesty,I'd delete the file.I mean anyone with common sence wouldn't return a game with Shiny legendaries. So it must be someone who got bored with the game because they completed the game, obviously a hacker.Like I wouldnt sell my game if I spent that much time SRing for shiny or be lucky enough to encounter one first try.So ya delelte them they're most likley hacked.

That right there is one of the reasons I try to avoid purchasing used games like pokemon. Most of the gba games have dead clocks and the ds games are all hacked to crap. If there's a pokemon you feel that you absolutely NEED, keep it, but otherwise just start over.
