Actually calling out the pokemon's move?

I would LOVE to see this implemented. You could voice record it so it responds on your DS, and every time you upgrade a move you say it. This would be difficult to implement, but would make it so much more realistic. What do you guys think?

Tyrantrum June 24th, 2010 10:50 PM

Eh... it sounds like a neat idea, but I wouldn't go for it. They already put so much into this game, plus the other amazing things we've yet to see. I don't really think this is something that should be implemented.

countryemo June 24th, 2010 10:52 PM

Probally not this generation, but maybe in the future it would cool, but bad if you had to be quite (Haha sneeking my ds in class )

Nikorasu June 24th, 2010 10:53 PM

Ehh... You would look like a bit of an idiot.. you know? In the middle of a flight on holiday... then you just hear someone shouting GO ON! USE TACKLE!

Totaldile June 24th, 2010 10:54 PM

i guess you could do either. I mean, I play with the sound up full volume and i shout at my DS. But some need it quiet so either would be good :3.

Calder June 24th, 2010 10:59 PM

Just push the button and yell out the command and pretend the voice made the attack happen...That way the rest of us don't have to do this ever...

It wouldnt be fair to people like me with speech impediments.

Azure-Supernova June 25th, 2010 1:20 AM

It's a great idea and all and I'd love to see it done PROPERLY... but it'd be the same hassle as playing Nintendogs all over again... they didn't sit when I told them to so why will my Pidgeotto be any different... other than maybe after the fifth unresponsive "Wing Attack now!" I may want to pluck it...

Pokémon Ranger ✩ Moriarty June 25th, 2010 3:05 AM

Eugh...I hate anything to do with the DS's microphone, so I'm not a fan of this idea tbh. As MistahDude pointed out it wouldn't work with people who have speech impediments, and as Azure said the microphone doesn't work well with other programs that use it. :/ Can you imagine the fury if you call out one attack, the game misinterprets it and your Pokémon uses another? *shudder*

"Rattatta, use Bite!"

'Rattata used Bide!"

o-/< <- this is Bob June 25th, 2010 3:14 AM

It sounds like a good idea. However, I'd rather not sound like a total tard when playing in public. Dx

FOR SRS. Then this would happen:

Moriarty used Fling!
Moriarty flung her DS at the wall!
It's Super Effective!
The DS fainted!
Moriarty gained 30 exp. points.

I think it's a good idea, something I can see them implementing later down the road. Of course, while keeping the ability to just press which attack you want to use, giving you the choice of either speech or just plain old pressing buttons.

Haha, but i'm sure it would be optional so you could be quiet when needed to.

sasukeanditachi June 25th, 2010 12:39 PM

PLEASE NO THE MICROPHONE SUCKS,and i sneak it sometimes.

and this

Rattata use tackle *Rattata used tail whipe*

brownkidd June 25th, 2010 12:51 PM

I was REALLY hoping they'd introduce this in d/p/pt. Even as an optional thing where you don't have to do it.

EmeraldSerenade June 25th, 2010 12:56 PM

It seems like a good idea... But I'd get pretty annoyed -.-

Although, I wouldn't want to be seen in public screaming at my DSi telling my Chatot to use Hyper Voice xD

Tsavo June 25th, 2010 1:15 PM

I'm a 24-year old pokemon player, things are bad enough as they are. :(

BakingBluePotatoe June 25th, 2010 1:26 PM

as long as it's optional, I don't see why they shouldn't!

This. At least in Phantom Hourglass, you could blow into the microphone instead of yelling like the manual suggested. Because there are older players who don't want attention drawn to themselves. And what about playing in public? I don't think the people around whomever is playing would appreciate hearing "TACKLE! TACKLE!"

If this was optional, I wouldn't mind having it included. It would be more fun for those who like actually commanding their Pokemon. The DS's microphone, however, really isn't the best at picking up what someone is saying at times. Especially when the player has a speech impediment, like I do. I really don't want to have my Pokemon attack with the wrong move just because the microphone didn't pick up my annunciation/I didn't say the attack correctly.

The option would be fun though. Just no major reliance. This all reminds me of Hey You! Pikachu! and how badly that microphone worked.

Dark Piplup June 25th, 2010 3:29 PM

It would be best if it was just an option. But,then the game would cost so much more.

Alyssachu June 25th, 2010 3:33 PM

Dude! That's an awesome idea! XD Although I would prefer the DS' microphones to be good, then. When I recorded my voice for Chatot, it sounded crappy as hell.

skiffz June 25th, 2010 6:19 PM

I think thats a good Idea but I think that people would take advantage of it and say stuff like ''Noob'' so when the use tackle or something it would be like Noob!

brownkidd June 25th, 2010 6:55 PM

Totally off topic, how cool would it be if you could blow in the mic to get rid of things like burn and smokescreen!? Might break the gameplay a bit, but it'd still be fun.

Back on topic. I think it wouldn't be a problem if it was optional. Like, maybe have a little microphone button on the bottom screen that you'd have to hold down while you shout the commands, or you could just select the commands like normal without looking like a fool in public.

I'm 26 and have no shame yelling "Pikachu, volt takle!" in public. Everyone I know is totally used to my nerdiness by now.

Becki June 25th, 2010 8:49 PM

Well...only if its optional i mean i would not want to have to yell at my ds to comande my pokes...but if they had the touchscreen movesets still, and that as long as it is either or i think it should be fine.
