Wow that looks better now :), it really looks like a female only medicham or meditite evo though...
|
where did u get this pics................????????????????????

Don't try to trivially correct people, especially if you're going to be racist. Regarding the Pokémon, I like them all. I could see any of these appearing just as much in Gens II or III. They're pretty. :3 The sarcophagus and floating green thing are very interesting. |
Quote:
Anyways @ Calder, I didn't mean Caucasions, I just meant that their skin tones are pasty white. @ Thorns, LOL that does look like a GaGa Pokemon, makes it slightly less unattractive. |

I'm excited to know the little Ecto-Plasma Bear's typing. I'm assuming pure Ghost, or maybe another Electric/Ghost if it is indeed based on Ecto-Plasma.
|

EDIT: NVM, I looked back at the pictures, my brain must have blocked it out and for good reason. |
I'm not crazy about any of these... In fact, I think they're all terrible. The electric spider may be cool... and possibly the sarcophagus. I'd love to see some Egyptian-styled Pokémon.
|
I think I've had an epiphany. I know what the wierd green looking Pokemon is based off of....Flubber.
Edit: I was wondering, where do people get the impression that the Pokemon beside the Mole is a mantis? |
Quote:
|
I want to start seeing some evolutions. This reveal was quite random. I wanna see Shimima's evolved form! And maybe Meguroku. Also, The Moles do kinda remind me of Stunky and Skuntank...
|
This new Pokemon are a let down, I was hoping for something better.
|
Okay I won't lie, my first reaction when I saw them was...wtf...talk about spikyness. But then I took a step back left for a second came back and looked at them again except this time in a clearer photo. Now I must say, I like them!! I mean the second photo ones aren't quite as good and I'm still not a fan of the random spiky blue red thing but the rest of them all seem pretty sweet. The horned Dragon is just siick when you can actually make it out and the mole looks killer. Plus it's suspected pre-evo looks sooo adorable!! I'm scared of spiders and am not really excited to see it's face but both it and the sarcaughagus (sp?) still look pretty sweet.
All in all I'm still very pleased with the new Pokemon. Plus the trailer just looked sweet, I want to play this game new pokemon, or no new Pokemon!! |
I hope that Tarantula has a cute pre-evo to rival the epic cuteness of Spinarak.
|
oh man, looking at things optimistically is working wonders.
I've never felt more epic-ness emanating from a Pokemon than the new ones they just released. I mean...they are freakin' epic. They are awesome! There is no way to describe them apart from really, really cool. alright, maybe the ralts-medicham-emo mashup is a little strange, but it's still awesome! |
Isn't this usually the kind of thing that the official site would update with? And also, I hope that we get something completely new in Corocoro next month. I'm going to be pissed if they recycle info.
|
Quote:
|
Lol, separately I bet they'd all look awesome, it's unfair that they were grouped together lmao.

THE WILD NOSTALGIC PERSON DOESNT HAVE A GRIP ON REALITY! What you don't realize is you are too obsessed with what Pokemon used to be. You need to accept change. You will come to love the new pokemon and changes or you will stop playing the franchise. There will always be people that will enjoy it while you say "THEY RAN OUT OF IDEARS" Also: Its a freaking Lizard with an axe for a head, and a freaking Sarcophagus! How is that not thinking of good and original ideas? its not like they just thought of a cell with a face that can transform or a bull with two extra tails, they actually put thought into the design of these new pokemon. |
God !!...A sarcophagus with arms...An electric tarantula...A mantis-dragon like thing....A floating green plasma thing...a living red/blue rock...This is awesome !!!..i've been waiting for a tarantula since gen 3...now it's here and that too with electric type !!.They combined two of my favorite things...And that sarcophagus with ghost arms looks amazing..It's on my team for sure....They are great concepts IMO..

Anyways the green plasma thing is really starting to grow on me, it's cute but kind of freaky in a mysterious sort of thing. Wish I could say the same for the spiky thing next to it =\ But it's the first Pokemon besides maybe Munna that I don't like so far and neither of them are in any way going to ruin the game for me. |

[documentary]As you can see here, this is a prime example of nostalgia clouding one's view. See how this pathetic creature will attempt to return again and explain (but fail, mind you) how he is right. Of course, as soon as we present proof (all of the original 151 bar like four Pokemon), they will scurry away back to their 8-bit world and hug their pikachu dolls for comfort.[/documentary] Quote:

Well, I've had all night to think about it (stupid insomnia), and I've come to the conclusion that I like where GameFreak is going. A lot of people have been complaining recently that Pokémon games are too similar - same old storylines, same old Gyms, same old everything - and they seem to have risen to the challenge. Black and White don't look or feel anything like any of the past Generations, and I like that. They'll be entirely new games, instead of revamped expansion packs. =]
As for the Pokémon revealed...they're growing on me. I really want to see what their proper sprites look like, especially for Ononokusu (Dragon), Desukaan (Sarcophagus) and Denchura (Electric Spider!). I really, really hope Ononokusu is Bug/Dragon. *crosses fingers* |
Okay I'm not going to like, Triple Battles, moving sprites and the zooming in and our totally reminds me of Digimon Dusk and Dawn! :/
|
You guys are taking her waaaaaaaay too seriously. She's being Snooki, like, honestly. I'm sure there's some point of honesty, but to me, I think it's a joke...

Also, you can't even speak English properly and you're telling someone from Japan how to speak their language? I find you pretty laughable, kid. I love that I talk to you in a reasonable tone yet you throw a massive fit and call me names. It's amusing. For future reference, it's "a lot". That's a phrase we use a lot in English, so why don't you know that, huh? Quote:
I'm not lookin' to start trouble but smart-ass miscorrections annoy me to no end. |

Also no Triple Battles kthnx. Very few people even care about double battles. Also itt people criticise nostalgia's lack of argument, while themselves just say "stfu old man". |
Grow up, baby. :3
This. This is beautiful. Not so much the art, it's fine, but I think the sprite looks cooler. http://th03.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2010/178/5/9/Germ_pokemon__by_dwarfstar1234.png |

On topic: I'm really hoping that purple and red rock Pokemon is an evolution of Probopass. That would just be awesome. |
Quote:
I'd use it. Quote:
Also that attempt at an 'insult'? Undeniable evidence you're still in Primary/Elementary School. Nobody's even talking about that anymore and you're still being a whiny little baby. |
OH SNAP CALDER IS SUCH A BADASS! /eye roll
Yeah, a Probopass evolution would be pretty damn sweet. I love Nosepass and Probopass, but I also love that rock thing. So I hope they're all related! |
Assuming it's not in the Nosepass line, what types do you think?
Maybe Steel-Rock or something? Edit: Just realized Probopass is Rock-Steel already. . . |
Hah, I just love all of them. They're just all so awesome, with metal bits and stuff. I dunno, maybe they don't feel like Pokemon, but they kinda do...particularly the RSE ones that I grew up with. :O
Evolution of Nosepass would be bad. I never liked him. @[email protected] The guy looks pretty kickass though, so I'm hoping not that typing. That gives him huge Fighting and Ground weaknesses, and that's not good when the latter is one of the most common moves in the (current) metagame, Earthquake. I hope pure rock. =| AND CALDER, MY MAN. YOU INSULTED SOMEONE ON THE INTERNET, HOW COOL! :O |
Quote:
|
Haha, if only it had moss anywhere at all on it.
I can't help but feel Rock-Steel, even if that's what Probopass is. It could MAYBE pull off Steel-Dragon? |
Quote:
|
Nah, Rock/Dragon if anything, I think.
|
To be honest I don't think the purple and red one looks anything like Nosepass/probopass. I also don't think it looks really dragon like.. D:
I'd go with steel and fire? Why's it have to be rock at all :) it doesnt' look much like a rock. Edit: Also, the more I look at it the more I despise Doryuuzu...it really is an ugly pokemon to me :S |
If it turns out to be totally unrelated to Nosepass/Probopass (tbh I was just looking at the colour scheme) then I'd be slightly disappointed...unless they announced it was a Dragon. I think I'm warming to that idea more than the Probopass one now...
|
They look okay for me.
Except Hihidaruma. Ononokusu and Desukaraan are pretty awesome in my book. I hope they'll be good for competitive battling. |
Hey can Ononokusu(the dragon bug thing) be a fossil pokemon ??...it appears quite ancient to me.yr thoughts ??
|
It could be, but would they show off a fossil Pokémon like this? I don't think they have before. .
|
For some reason, the red and black one makes me think of Ben 10 Alien Force.........
|
Hm... If they DO add triple battles, there must be a size limit, like in the teams of PMD. I don't want to battle a little kid with Dialga, Palkia and Origin Forme Giratina out at the same time.
|
Quote:
what do you mean "If they DO add triple battles"? Triple battles are definitely in the game. its been confirmed. But i am sure they would have some kind of rules...for multiplayer and comps etc but i think for the general story line you could use any pokemon you want for a triple battle :) Just like Double Battles |
What the heck is a Sarcophagus? Why do all you people like him? Why????!!
IMO below average designs, but I like the goth one and the yellow dragon. We'll see when we have good pictures of them. Gen V, so far so good. |
Quote:
And it's one of the better look ones in my opinion. The Goth one is the worst. |
Triple Battles O.o
Yesterday I was like "Hahaha, they are going to make triple battles! xD" I see no point on it. Plus, new Pokemon look ugly... Maybe it's just the blurry pics. |
Don't forget strategy to battling will be gone in triple battling.
You could have a Fire, Water and Grass type, eech with two different Attack Types, and you'll probably win. |
No, strategy will likely be increased tenfold, like in a traditional RPG.
It paves the way for classes and arch-types, such as attackers, defenders, healers, etc. There will be many more support type moves this generation, I think. Attacks that buff or heal other members, like Helping Hand and whatnot. |

I was hoping to see Gears evolved form. Also, with the addition of the sarcophagus, we now have two inanimate object-based Pokemon... #notagoodsign even though I love them both.
|
1 inanimate object Pokémon each generation doesn't seem to bad, not that it's even at that point yet.

As others have probably already said, I think the blue and red rock/crystal looking pokemon might be an alternate evolution of nosepass by a new item or level up in that one cave from corocoro instead of level up in Mt. Coronet. I'm also hoping the electric tarantula is either an evolution of Ariados or an alternate evolution of Spinarak, it looks pretty cool and it's the first Electric/Bug
|
So, I'm away and information bounces in ? -_-
It's good I got to see this ! I HAD A FEELING, I KNEW IT !!! => Triple Battles <= I just knew it ! :o :D HAHA !!! Er-hem. IMO, some Pokemon look really ugly. Ononokusu mostly. If type combos are awesome, I might go and like them. But I guess I just need to get used to them ! ;) |
At first when I saw the screenshots of the new designs, wasn't too big of a fan. Seeing them in action in the video on Pokebeach though, I must say I like them very much! For the most part at least, that goth one looks odd to me.
I also highly doubt that dragon-looking one in the 3 unknown named batch is anything related to Nosepass. Looks nothing like them, just uses a similar color scheme. Triple battles is interesting, though I can't see myself playing too much of it. I was fine with double, but that doesn't go to say that I won't enjoy triple as well. Lastly, really curious about this whole "white high-link" thing they showed with your avatar changing. I really do hope its some sort of wireless multiplayer feature, that would be so great! |
OH MA GAWD
Desukaan, Denchura, and Ononokusu look AWESOME. I want them. Rock/Ghost, Electric/Poison, and Steel/Dragon, anyone? |

Two days, two update...they are really spoiling us...
However, at first glance i thought that the new pokemon were ugly, but after looking better at them, I like some of them: the coffin pokemon is intriguing and I hope for a ghost/rock, the tarantula that seems have the cool combo elec/bug, the mantis pokemon remember me of a dragon (dragon/bug:)I hope). I don't like very much the unknown girl-pokemon, but not for the desing, that is rather intresting, but because I don't like humanoid pokemon very much. but more important is MISTER RESETTI AS POKEMON=TOP OF COOLNESS. And in the end the c-gear seems very promising as it can handle wireless, wi-fi, and the new IR all at the same time in a place were seem that players can ghater in a mmorpg way(wonderful)! |
the golden thingy is my fav, whats its name anyone?

Game Freak is only now starting to get creative. Take a look at Gen I and II. Count the number of Pokemon that are real life creatures/objects with very minute changes. I'll give you some help; Krabby, Pidgey, Persian, Ekans, Arbok, Bellsprout, Grimer, Exeggucute, Tauros, Goldeen, Ledyba, Pineco, Remoraid, Mantine, Stantler, just to name a few. Oh, and let's not forget the ingenius Voltorb (which is a Pokeball) and it's evolved form, Electrode (which is an upside down Pokeball.) These Pokemon are vast improvements from what Game Freak has sold us in the past. |
I love all of them. They looks so awesome. And that video... what really makes me happy is the music. Sort of sounds like R/S/E XD;
The "Dragon Axe" Pokémon is by far my favourite. Gimme one, NAO!! :D |
Quote:
While I don't like the new Pokémon (apart from this one here) I find it silly how you all are saying "They're not being creative!" "They're running out of ideas!" without looking at the big picture. They're trying something different, and while I don't like most of the results because they remind me so much of Yu-Gi-Oh cards rather than Pokémon, I respect that. We've seen Pokémon previously shown and they all have somewhat of a resemblance to Pokémon from past generations. I think you guys are comparing them too much to Pokémon from the past. Pokémon has a life of it's own after ten+ years! It's growing and becoming more involved. These Pokémon being introduced in this generation live in Isshu. If you remember, Isshu is so far away from previous regions - the Pokémon should have some outlandish qualities! |
Voltorb is one of the most creative ideas for a Pokemon. A mutated Pokeball that has gained sentiency and looks like it's about to wreak havoc on the world? Epic.
Simple Pokemon >>>> OMFG EPIC KEWL PWNAGE Pokemon. (Most of the time. There are exceptions to the rule, but I would pick the adorable Seel over the overly-busy multi-bladed Mantis thing any day of the week) EDIT: I hope the rock thing isn't an evolution of Probopass. Probopass is far too epic as it is, anything else would ruin it. |
Quote:
I agree with you, I think the Mantis Pokemon is a bit busy, but we also have the green plasma Pokemon, the small mole, Pokabu, Chiramii, Mamepato, Meguroko, all of which are very simple. |
But yeah, there is some of my thoughts:
Ononokusu, mantis Pokemon because Scyther wasen't cool enought. (BS!) Redspikedweirdo, mutation of baby Groudon. Green-plasma thingy, a wood spirit from Princess Mononoke who got eaten by Slimer and then came out with it's ectoplasmic poop. |
Quote:
Just because serebii calls it "Mantis-like" doesn't mean it's actually a mantis pokemon. Unless I'm missing something? http://pokebeach.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/oha-suta-new-pokemon-1.jpg Far more like a dragon than a bug / scyther rehash. Also, before, I thought Doryuuzu was pointless and too much work, but I did like the hole 'mask can cover its face for digging' perk. :( |
That thing is a mantis ??...seriously ??...i mean look at this pic :-

Maybe I was a little harsh earlier, it was a knee-jerk reaction to this latest batch. I do like some of the new Pokemon, it's just that ones like Hihiraduma and the green-plasma thing are, IMO, horrifically ugly, and the percentage that I like seems to get smaller and smaller every generation. :( |
Quote:
I'm honestly not liking the new Pokémon so much, but I'm not going to make any prejudices. I'll wait until we get to see the rest of the new Pokémon and hope for the best. |
I don't think the developers are running out of ideas, but I will say they're lacking in creativity. I know some people will disagree, but I can't help but relate the design of the Gen V Pokémon to that of Digimon *shudder*. I'm also not enjoying the new Pokémon very much, but then again, Ononokasu is pretty epic.
|
Quote:
Taking a dragon and gluing on some sythes and armour automatically makes it creative and an improvement, nay, a vast improvement? The more fantastical and vulnerable to memes (Bidoof anyone?) the Pokemon series gets, the more it comes off as a kids game. Also people out there calling the "nostalgia vision" argument need to stop it. You may be plucking on a different string, but you're just plucking it over and over and over... |
I really think Ononokusu looks like it could be Rock/Electric. I also really think it is one of the coolest looking Pokemon ever. Maybe an exaggeration borne out of excitement but still, it's like Tyranitar but about 10 times awesomer.
|
I happen to agree, Ononokusu looks like it could do some major butt-kicking.

That's not a good argument. That's not common sense. That's nostalgia, plain and simple. Especially when most of these people are going to buy the games anyway (and as I've said before, if they're not buying them, they really have no right to complain). (And on an entirely different point, just 'cause Serebii says something doesn't mean it's right, guys.) |
Quote:
The point is, whether it's nostalgia guided or not, it's still an opinion, and unless it's so ridiculous as to point blank state that "it doesn't look like a Pokémon", then it should be respected. |

I dont really have much comment on the new pokemon, but i love that green ghost bear thing... It better have a new typing... I do tend to rely on the moveset, so if they are unimaginative, they wont sell. The rock thing that DOES NOT LOOK LIKE PROBOPASS just doesnt seem creative at all.
|
I have one thing to say:
THEY DISGUST ME. They do not look like Pokemon, the old ones they announced were cool, but now this? There's too much going on, I mean look at the old Pokemon like Ekans. Purple Snake, that's it, no weird parts or anything. Right now they absolutely DO NOT look like Pokemon. |
