Well, one simple idea that comes to me is rounded windows. That would only be a small change in the details, I know. Maybe looking at random pictures of houses, like this, might inspire you. You can find interesting things people have on their walls. Drain pipes, window shutters, water meters, etc.

Hm, maybe. I might work on this house later. Probably not, but meh. btw, when I follow the link it says I'm forbidden to access the page.

So, a random locker thing. About seven colours.

Okay, so I've decided that I'm rubbish at drawing and shading eyes etc. So here's what I've done so far. Suggestions on how to approach the rest of the piece would be greatly appreciated, along with crit on this current WIP. I've already noticed that the wart is mega-flat and the beard lacks selout.

Well, it was working at the time. I just did a google image search for "weird houses" or something like that and found an image I thought would be inspiring. Can't even remember what it looked like now.

And I'm seeing broken photobucket links in your latest post. :(

Meh, I just did a quick google search, most things are too extravagent for an ordinary house.

The pictures are fixed now. They were broken 'cause I did some rearranging on my Photobucket. Mind you, after I had rearranged, it was still showing, but idk. It's fixed now.

Also, I tried the curved window idea, and although I've not got a copy of it, it didn't turn out good (or at least, how I tried it). Thanks anyway. :D

Bumpidy bump bump.

Here's my WIP of Oak's Lab or Project: IsoKanto.

http://i56.*.com/25aubdi.png
I can't draw iso circles for crap. I need to, though, for the windows. >: Any advice?

Esper October 19th, 2010 6:14 PM

I like how the lab is coming along.

For making the circles you could try making a square (well, a diamond since it's iso) and then start shaving off the corners until you have something that looks like a circle. That's just the first idea that came to me. /don't know much about how to do iso style

Spherical Ice October 26th, 2010 11:18 AM

Well, I'm still struggling on the lab, but it seems nobody is really interested in the project.

Anyway, just did a quick animation:

Kind of inspired by the UB Funkey on my desk, but I don't know exactly what they are, and why they have no feet.

Cute, but I think the head could be moved two or three pixels to the left.

Just a bit of typography. Not great "anatomy" on the letters as a whole, but oh well.
Hope this isn't against the rules, what posting three times in a row.
Also, if you guys care, here's my finished entry for WPC 6, Isometric. I'm not too fond of it, and am aware of the flaws. Oh well. :/

Fifth post without replies. I mean, I knew this place was inactive, but seriously?

Anyway, a new fake, which I will be using so no touchy.
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff288/Sphericalice/Pyrock.pnghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff288/Sphericalice/PyrockShiny.png
Pyrock, the Hot Rock Pokémon
Types: Rock/Fire
Abilities Magma Armour / Rock Head
Pokédex Entry: Their unique, green rocks are sometimes mistaken for emeralds. If provoked, they can encapsulate their whole figure in lava.

I'm planning on an evolution, but am making no promises.

Chesu November 17th, 2010 9:59 AM

The facets/plates look kind of flat... Did you not shade any of them? :D

Spherical Ice November 17th, 2010 10:07 AM

Well, I used http://www.dragonflycave.com/dpsprites/377regirock.png Regirock as a reference. Not much shading there. I'll give add some shading here and there but I'm not sure if it'd work well. In any case, they're supposed to be relatively flat; they're rock faces.

Chesu November 17th, 2010 10:35 AM

The difference there is that Regirock has a lot more facets, in varying sizes. Its torso looks like it has depth because of the way the facets shape it, and the gradual shift in shades. Your sprite has larger plates, which changes shades very quickly due to the sprite's size.

Spherical Ice November 17th, 2010 10:43 AM

Hm, true point. This any better?
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff288/Sphericalice/PyrockEdit.png
Gah, Photobucket are really pissing me off now. Their layouts are trying to look "cool" and are really impractical. Srs. >:(

So yeah, a fusion of Celebi and Skitty and shiny, and a revamp of Gold's Bulbasaur to the standard of Black and White, and it's shiny form. :D

Lumineon pixel over, with some glow art (if you're using a bright skin, check the first post to see the glow art). :D

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff288/Sphericalice/Golava.png
Golava, the Molten Pokémon
Types: Rock/Fire
Abilities: Magma Armour / Rock Head
Pokédex Entry: It scours volcanic areas to refill the lava pool on it's back, as, it is said, if it runs out, the GOLAVA will die.

Pyrock's evolution, Golava. Also, check out the first post with it's sexy new layout and gimme some coffee.

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff288/Sphericalice/Golemolten.pnghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff288/Sphericalice/Electrearth.png
Couple of recolours, too.

RSE Deoxys revamp to BW standards. I didn't realise how much it's changed o.o.

I only just noticed I've got only two pages. srs?

Logiedan November 22nd, 2010 3:27 AM

Golava's red spike things on the back is a little odd. It's not very centered with Golava's body. I also think that its face could use a little more contrast.

Everything else is fine and decent and I very much like the Deoxys revamp. The Electrode can have some more contrast as well with a little darker shade and a brighter highlight.

I'll get to work on that later, thanks Logie. n_n

A fusion of Houndour, Umbreon and Poochyena, and a fusion of Weedle and Groudon. Nottin' interesting.

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff288/Sphericalice/Dumdoh.png
Dumdoh, the Idiot Pokémon
Types: Normal
Pokédex Entry: Their clumsiness is usually the death of them, and, despite having wings, they have never been recorded to have flown.
It's a pure Normal type Dodo fake. Yes, I realise that Doduo is a dodo, but it's loosely based on one (well, two) and I think Dumdoh and Doduo are different enough as it is.

I really like this sprite, the design and color and over appearance makes it look quite clearly like a bit of a dunce.

But it does look a little unbalanced based on the direction of the feet. It looks like there isn't a lot keeping the back end of it from falling. I'm not quite familiar with what dodos look like, but that's a wing, right? I only ask because it seems like it's too far forward, not quite on the side where you'd see wings on most birds.

Spherical Ice December 1st, 2010 1:14 PM

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff288/Sphericalice/Dumdoh-1.png
Is this an improvement? I've centred the feet a little more and oriented the wing properly.

The Adventures of Monokid

The result of boredom~!
So I was bored and had this spare palette and began making random shapes. As the subtitle suggests, all of this was the result of my boredom. No, it's not going to made into some sort of game, but the idea behind it is the the white blob, Monokid, is travelling the land to retreive his colour from the evil painters. The sun, Sunny, helps him out and stuff. I realise the mockup lacks hearts, health (wtf, I originally spelled this as gelath o.O), points, etc., but idrc. As I said, this is just a result of my boredom. Hover over the sprites for their names.

Oh, and the palette can be found here: click.
