What do you think the new "Dragonite" spot is going to be?

personally, I think a fighting/dragon type would be really cool. they could even take out the dragon part and it would be sweet

revelp8 June 30th, 2010 7:41 PM

err, then wouldn't it just be a fighting type? i really don't understand what the point your trying to get across here...

Penutz June 30th, 2010 7:45 PM

Like each gen they have a really powered pokemon

Gen 1: Dragonite
Gen 2: Tyranitar
Gen 3: Salamance
Gen 4: Garchomp

I want a poison pokemon :D

gen 3's is actually metagross, but Ononokusu (watch the video on pokebeach) looks ready to fill that spot with his uber-samurai dragon powers.

Timbjerr June 30th, 2010 7:57 PM

I don't want another dragon-type psuedolegendary. D:

I'd like to see a levitating poison/dark though. :P

It's actually both Salamence and Metagross as they both have a BST of 600. It's the only generation to have two (three if you count Slaking and it's 670 BST) psuedolegend families, at least to my knowledge.

There are a lot of possibilities but personally I'm hoping for Dragon/Ice. =D

Volroc June 30th, 2010 9:33 PM

dragon/fire

best combo ever, and we need a good lookin one to make up for that ugly train wreck reshiram -_-"

celebi72 June 30th, 2010 9:43 PM

Poisen Dragon with two formes. Think of how cool that would be!

Haza June 30th, 2010 10:07 PM

I don't think the pseudo-legendary would be a Poison-Type because it is only good against one type, and they have to have sweeping capabilities. Maybe a Dark/Dragon, or Ice/Ground.

Corruptodile June 30th, 2010 11:41 PM

I'm all for a psuedo-legendary that isn't Dragon. I think we have too many >.< I probably wouldn't mind if it's type combination was unique though.

Le Creep! July 1st, 2010 12:04 AM

Well, considering we don't know much about the whole Pokédex, I would like a Grass/Dragon type :)

It's a little farfetched, and I know it doesn't work, but I would like it.

I'm all up for another psuedolegendary, but no more Dragons please -_-

How about something more reptile, possibly Poison/Psychic.

Afflicted One July 1st, 2010 4:05 AM

Dragon / Dark type. That would be epic.

If anything there needs to be more different type mixes

yes exactly and the poison type really badly needs good pokemon and you cant get much better than a psuedo-ledge!

Azure-Supernova July 1st, 2010 4:54 AM

Also it doesn't help that it only gets a x2 bonus against grass (unless it's a dual type w/poison, which a few are) yet it has two weaknesses, maybe a Poison/Psychic might balance that out

yes and one thing i really hoped for this generation (although i doubt it will happen) was for poison to gain the super effective hit on bugs it had in the first generation!! and i know it would make bugs even worse but it would help poison at least!!
and also a field for poison types i think i saw someone mention acid rain ages ago and it would be like every turn poison types recover 1/16th hp and non poisons lose 1/16th hp and poison type moves gain 50% power

I just read that, and thought...hey, that would be awesome :)
It's nice to see we're getting new type combinations (Meguroko's Ground/Dark) so hopefully we'll get that.

But O.o what ability?

if they don't give us a levitating poison/dark, (I'm assuming you mean a Pokemon with no weaknesses), we could always get a levitating electric, which has no weaknesses. If one of those had psuedo-legend stats it would shoot straight up to the uber tier, but I don't think nintendo would make a Pokemon that strong.

But O.o what ability?

Name: Bakuatar (two random serpet dieties)
Type: Poison / Psychic
Ability: Toxin (A slowly secreted a toxin which powers up poison type moves whilst damaging all non-poison Pokémon on the field each turn)

I'm picturing something femenine (like Milotic) but with a body reminiscent of Giratina (as in it has legs).

Sure it's not "super powerful" but it's about time we saw something different

Dillon_68 July 1st, 2010 10:36 AM

I think that the small Pokemon next to Iris on the character thingy might be the axe-dragon's baby form. I put that in this thread because I think that it will be the Dragonite/Tyranitar of 5th Gen.

GrifSpark July 1st, 2010 10:40 AM

Maybe a Fire-Type Pokemon? There's a surprisingly limited amount of decent Fire-Types (Check Bulbapedia). Or maybe a Grass-Type... *Gasps* A Grass/Fire-Type!? That would be fun.

Well, I'd like either a levitating Poison/Dark or a levitating Poison/Steel imo.

Sure, the Poison/Steel would still be weak to fire, but be resistant to nearly everything else. XD

Migueliscool July 1st, 2010 11:49 AM

I think it should be dragon/poison or dragon/ice

Pokestick, good times. July 1st, 2010 12:05 PM

Ononokusu:

http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/182/3/c/Ononokusu_by_Xous54.png

He looks like he would turn out to be the next pseudo legendary. He looks big, fast and strong. I bet you he might actually be Dragon type.

Either Dragon/Fighting or Dragon/Steel.

adamskillz July 1st, 2010 9:12 PM

Psychic/Dark would be awesome. its only weakness would be a x4 weakness to bug, but think about it, all pseudo's, ( minus metagross ) have a x4 weakness, either ice or fighting.

hever July 1st, 2010 9:22 PM

It looks like a Tyranitar rip-off. I like the design, although it is borderline digimon as some of other people around the web have proposed.

I doubt they wold make a digimon like Ononokusu.

How does something look like a pokemon or look like a Digimon? There isn't one standard look for Pokemon or Digimon.

It might be the because it has armour, which a lot Digimon tended to get when they Digivolved. There isn't a set template for either, but Digimon have always been a bit more radical in their design whilst Pokémon were more reserved and natural.

I think it looks pretty sweet, hoping it's a Dragon/Steel (even though we don't need another Dragon -_-)

It's most likely steel because of it's armor and blades. I am not sure what the other type would be mainly because Lizards and Dinosaurs never have set types unlike other creatures.

If he is Dragon I would like him to be Dragon/Fighting or Dragon/Steel mainly because those types would be great during battle.

I think he'll be a mix of two types from the following list:

Rock
Electric
Bug
Dragon
Steel

...and I think he, or the little one on the floor next to Jessie in the most recent reveal, will be the Gen V pseudo-legendary.

Xous54 made it. He is fantastic at mimicking the Sugimori style.

XxRogueTrainerxX July 2nd, 2010 6:30 AM

I predict that it'll be a Dragon/Fighting-type. To be honest, I think Fighting-types are severely underrated, so if my prediction happens to be true, then I'll be happy.

If my prediction isn't true, I'll skin my Sentret.

Scorpio219 July 2nd, 2010 6:49 AM

i would like a grass flying (not that gay dinosaur)probably a crane bird and a fire dark would be sick if they did it right. To many fire fighting and fire flying make some new mixes. Like that ground dark aligater. it looks ugly but i like that it is a new mix so i am okay with it

JP July 2nd, 2010 7:46 AM

I like Dragon types, but I'm actually on board for it not being a dragon type, something a bit more original would be great. Poison/Psychic or Ice/Ground sound good to me.

Digimon are more complicated and more intricate in designs. While pokemon are (were), while rich in design, simple and natural.

There are 13 legal dragon types. There are over 50 water types. Don't tell me that. We need more dragons.

I think he meant we need more pokemon in which types are very rare and scarce. (ei. poison, bug, ice, ghost) Most everybody uses dragon types and we need something out of the other rare types to dominate and represent their groups, respectively.

Same with to water and grass types. Dragon types are nagged about too much for being common. Anything else i will not mind. It will probabaly be a bit like tyranitar. (Rock/Dragon type possible.)

It looks like him too. I bet the little pokemon revealed days ago (the beta sketch) right beside the new girl character will be the pre-evo of the aforementioned "Tyranitar look-alike."

the reason there are so few dragon types is that its supposed to be rare. they are supposed to be psuedolegendary. its an effing DRAGON!!! that said, i don't want another dragon psuedo-legendary. a dark-fighting would be cool.

@ Person who said there are no good Ice-types:Lol. Mamoswine, Weavile, Froslass, Glaceon anybody???

I was a poison-type.....sadly, it'd have to be good to overtake my love of Koffing/Weezing and, to a lesser extent, the other 1st Gen poison-types.

Yeah, I'd love a grass-type! Although they are common.....how about a Ghost-type? Just a pure ghost? Or electric....

Nikorasu July 2nd, 2010 12:50 PM

I would of enjoyed somewhat a dark pokemon :X

hever July 2nd, 2010 1:01 PM

I more powerful bug types.

Infinity Mk.II July 2nd, 2010 1:17 PM

Axesaur as an Steel-Rock type.

Or maybe an Steel-Dark type? A Metagross/Tyranitar crossover.

The 4x weakness to fighting is quite bad... but Dragonite and Salamence have the same to Ice.

But what I would really want to see is an Ice-Steel. It takes two weaknesses away though it adds a 4x to fighting and fire and one to ground, but adds many resistences to make it worth it.

It will show Ice types aren't crappy defensive failures.

Rampardos's design is made to make him look like a strong physical attacker. Ononokusu has Armor and a Weapon, which makes me believe that he will be powerful both offensively and defensively.

New psuedo-legendarys?!

In every Generation so far, new psuedo legendary/s are availible to catch.
Observe here.
The main point of this thread is, what particular type combinations would you like to see on the new psuedo legendaries when they are revealed?

The next Garchomp line:

http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/194/5/3/Kickass_Kibago_by_Fi3ndish.pnghttp://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/182/3/c/Ononokusu_by_Xous54.png

The pokemon on the left is Kibago (キバゴ) and the pokemon on the right is Ononokusu (オノノクス). It is very obvious to me that Kibago (キバゴ) will evolve into nonokusu (オノノクス). Both pokemon are confirmed to be real, but the art isn't. The above art is from Deviantart.

Kibago (キバゴ) is the Tusk Pokemon, a Dragon-type. Its abilities are Rivalry and Mold Breaker. It has a new attack called Double Chop (ダブルチョップ), which hits the opponent twice. It is 0.6m tall and weighs 18.0kg.

With this being said I am assuming that Ononokusu will be Fighting/Dragon! If this typing came to reality he would be weak to:

Ice 2x
Dragon 2x
Flying 2x
Psychic 2x

Logiedan July 14th, 2010 12:06 AM

Agreed. Kibago and Ononokusu will probably be close to the Tyranitar Line. I'm assuming they're probably Bug/Dragon or Fighting/Dragon.

Haza July 14th, 2010 12:07 AM

I'm sure Kibago is the new Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon this time around, it's typing is pretty much confirmed to end up half Dragon as Kibago i s a Dragon-Type. Maybe Dragon/Rock or Dragon/Steel or even Dragon/Dark or Dragon/Poison. I can't really tell by looking at Okonokosu (sp?)

Rengoku July 14th, 2010 12:10 AM

Yes, it've been confirmed to be a Dragon type, hopefully with another typing that's epic enough (Dark/Dragon? We never had those!)

I REALLY doubt a pseudo legendary would be Bug and I also doubt that a pure Dragon lizard, that evolves into a bigger lizard, would become bug type. Why would something that shares NOTHING with bug types become a bug type?

Anyways...

Kibago's new move sounds like a fighting move. If it is a fighting move we will finally get a Fighting/Dragon type!

I don't think Double Chop refers to in like a fighting sense... I'm sure it refers to the blades on it's mouth. Just my speculation.

Pokestick, good times. July 14th, 2010 12:18 AM

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I highly doubt the Ononokusu is official and confirmed. Firstly, the art doesn't look like Ken's usual art, and the icon on the image that basicly yells that it's fanmade. And I haven't found it on any *believable* page, rather I think I've seen it in every single faked BW YouTube video out there.

But if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me (and show some evidence)

And to get on-topic, I personally hope for a Dragon-Electric. But we'll see :3

Just because it can learn a fighting move does not mean it's going to be a fighting-type Pokemon.

- 2x Psychic

Dragon/Rock:
- 2x Fighting

Both images in the first post are from Deviantart.com. I didn't say they were official, its just they were pretty good pictures in my opinion.

Ononokusu (オノノクス) is an actual confirmed pokemon:

In the above image he is on the top right. The above image is from an Oha Suta trailer. Info can be found here: http://pokebeach.com/2010/06/new-pokemon-revealed-on-oha-suta

One, you have no proof of the moves it learns 'early on,' and two, no, not necessarily.

Why would it randomly learn a fighting type move? That hardly ever happens for other pokemon.

Pokestick, good times. July 14th, 2010 12:43 AM

Oh my, you're right :o

Well, the image's still fake :P

Now that I look at it, that thing might have any type combination there is :<
We can't exclude anything (especially not Dragon/Bug! >:D)

MistahDude July 14th, 2010 12:44 AM

Oh and there is one thing that I should point out that is going to make Ononokusu a huge threat.

He has Mold Breaker! (assuming he evolves from Kibago)

Mold Breaker:
If this Pokémon attacks and the target's ability would prevent the effects of the attack from taking place, or hinder the effects of the move, the ability is temporarily nullified while the attack is in progress. Abilities that prevent status such as Limber are deactivated during the attack which allows a Pokémon that has one to be affected by the status they prevent, but the ability cures the status immediately after the attack.

This would allow him to use Earthquake against levitate pokemon!

I would love for Ononokusu to be Dragon/Steel, as long as he isn't UBER. That way we got a Pseudo legendary with 2 weaknesses, beefed up stats, and Mold Breaker. He is going to be a beast!

Not nessesarly true, charizard learns shadow claw and dragon claw at lvl 1, and it is obvoisly neither ghost or dragon typed. almost every pokemon learns all most all normal moves early on, and their arent a million normal types running around.

and just because it looks imposing/intimidating, also doesnt mean its the gen 5 pseudo legaendary. it looks cool, and i hope its strong, but lets just wait until we get more info here. remember these are speculation threads based on a single coro coro image or short video clip

Pokestick, good times. July 14th, 2010 12:49 AM

That would be one hell of an über. AKA the one all n00bz will AR to lv 100 and pwn each others with.

I sure hope you're kidding, right? Wartortle learns Bite and Iron Defense. Last I checked, Wartortle isn't dark-type or steel-type.

Nidoking learns Peck, Megahorn and Double Kick. He's not flying, bug or fighting.

Please, learn your crap before you speculate.

and please respect people.

I said it doesn't usually happen. That doesn't mean it happens all the time.

Pokestick, good times. July 14th, 2010 2:06 AM

But I too feel that it doesn't have to be Fighting just because it learns a move that might be Fighting.

KanadeTenshi July 14th, 2010 2:41 AM

Fighting-types are amongst the strongest out there. It won't be one. I'd rather go for Dragon-type.

I'm feeling this. Minimal weaknesses but weak to common types, balanced enough to make for a good OU Pokemon.

Pokestick, good times. July 14th, 2010 3:00 AM

Makes sense. If it had Levitate and used Psychic attacks, it'd be awesome :3
I know that's not the case, but it shows how close that type combo is to an awesome one :D

Calder July 14th, 2010 3:31 AM

I hope its Steel/Dragon because I love Steel and want more of them... (Grass/Steel someone plz) but it seems dual types are few in this region... It might be plain Dragon type we have a Steel/Dragon in Dialgay but he is legendary...

Iceshadow3317 July 14th, 2010 3:33 AM

I think he is a dragon type, just by the way he looks. Yes that is fan art,but it is very close in matching. Just go look at the mole's fan art next to Onono. It is almost 100% correct.

Planetes. July 14th, 2010 4:16 AM

Kibago, Ononokusu's pre-vo has an attack called "Double Chop". Kibago itself is a pure dragon, but this sounds like a fighting move.
And that Kibago picture makes it look like its eating some kind of baguette

its because they FEATURED the move, in a magazine...
You don't see shots of Wartortle using bite or iron defense, its usually spraying water.
No one would have an ad saying "Everybody get the amazing Biting Wartortle and Pecking Nidoran" it would make no sense so they keep it on the DL.

Iceshadow3317 July 14th, 2010 4:26 AM

Liek some oen said I think Double chop is becaus eof the horn on his head

crehym July 14th, 2010 4:35 AM

With that badass look and the ability mold breaker, I already have the feeling its going to be uber.

Great design though.

Is Pikachu steel-type? No. Does it use Iron Tail? Yes.

And I don't even understand how what you're saying has any relevance to what I said. It really doesn't matter what they say, what matters is that they can learn moves different to their type.

I thought you'd have read my post before you tried to start an argument?

What he's saying is in magazines, showing a new pokémon, why would they show a dragon type to have a *new* fighting type move rather than a fighting type instead? Generally Pokémon are shown using 'signature' moves.

Therefore it is likely that Kibago becomes part fighting type.

Also it's evolution has plated armour, which is either relating to a steel type or a warrior in armour (aka, Fighting).

What? I think your confused... Kibago's "baguette" are the fangs of Kiba (Fangs) Go (Gouge) and Wartortle can use Bite because he can actually Bite... Nidoran can Peck because it has the horn to do so... Pikachu can use Iron Tail because he has a tail and can use it as such...

Ah, I see. What magazine is this?

And I doubt it would represent a warrior in armour.

DRAGON/ICE ALL THE WAY!

Ya, I was kidding about the baguette, sort of. I have a picture of Kibago on my avatar, I know what he looks like

@Guillermo

I did read your post and obviously you did not read mine. I made a slightly different point. I know pokemon learn different type moves, like the flamethrower skuntank. But what I'm saying is that they INTRODUCED it knowing a fighting type move, kind of like saying that's its signature move. Kibago can probably learn Hyper Beam and other things like that later, but the first confirmed for Kibago is fighting type, which is classic nintendo to drop a hint like that. Take your ADD pills next time.

Thats what Kibago is gonna be according to rumors and fandom... Kibago is most likely the Dratini of this Generation
